Homework is not mandatory ! You move on to the next year if your indexed.

Everyone that is indexed and active at the end of the in game school year gets moved to the next year, regardless of how much homework is completed. It will only impact the spells your character knows (and if you do the homework for them or buy them in the store).

For the homework? I heard that many of the classes were edited to be easier to complete.

Or do you mean the end of the year? I think advancement to the next year occurs in July (but let me check that fact first). - I want to say July 1st (it was July 1st last year)
