PERSONNALITY
He's overall a kind boy, with nothing but sun in his heart but he's also a bit of a hormonal one so his emotions tend to hit hard. Growing up with kind-hearted parents allowed him to keep that side of himself but his addiction to movies also engrained some odd things into his head like the picture perfect man who never shows his emotions, for example.
Zachary is smart, crazy smart, but not an academic. School doesn't interest him and having good grades is just not his preoccupation, at all. He's interested in the stars, in how animals can be so different from us and in the way the sea works when no one's watching. He cares about how bridges are made and about the way wands work, not really about analysing litterature or learning mathematics (although he does enjoy maths in his own way, only when it is necessary to understand a concept).
He can be a bit aloof, stuck in his head and his thoughts race past him without his hand even reaching for them. He doesn't know how to speak to girls, thinks of all the things he can eat and likes to prank his friends in moderate and gentle ways. He's all about acting like a grown up and learning the ways of adulthood without really hvaing grasped how complex and difficult that is. A little immature, he doesn't get other people's feelings and when something, or someone, does not interest him, he simply makes no efforts.
Hiding behind a wave of overconfidence is a little boy who cares deeply about what people think of him. He wants friends, craves attention and adores being with others.
APPEARANCE
Zachary sports a tall and slim build with long arms and long legs. He's a little taller than boys his age, for now, and doesn't have much muscle on him even though he deeply enjoys sports. His hair is cropped and brown, never really brushed and always unruly. He's got big brown doe eyes and long lashes that, he thinks, are crazy cool because he never gets any dust in them. He likes to dress comfortably, with jeans and a loose t-shirt.
He doesn't have any physical particularities that make his stand out, other than a little bit of acne compared by tons and tons of skincare.
✦︎ He loves running and engaging in physical activities, whatever they may be.
✦︎ Has a kind heart but because of his weird obsession with acting like a movie dude, doesn't know how to show it and gets embarrassed when he does something sweet and nice.
✦︎ Obsessed with looking and acting like a grown up (wants to grow up really fast).
✦︎ Wants to 'act like a dude' but doesn't like doing the typical macho-man things he's seen in movies.
✦︎ Enjoys a good amount of gentle mischief like pinching his friends or drawing in their books. Never steps over the line.
✦︎ Isn't afraid to stand up for himself but easily gets overwhelmed when angry.
✦︎ Intellectual but in a eclectic way. Always thinking about things, about how they work and how things are made and built.
✦︎ Loves movies. Has a notebook of all his favourites, along with their rating and the things he liked in them. For now, is really into action movies. Is so disappointed he won't be able to watch any at Hogwarts but looks forward to the holidays to catch up on his faves.
✦︎ Very clean for his age, always re-arranging his dorm space and cleaning up after his siblings and parents.
✦︎ Incredibly preoccupied with how others perceive him and what they think of him, of his looks, of his personality. Started a skincare regimen a year ago when acne started to sprout on his face because of it.
✦︎ Doesn't bother with things he's not interested in, doesn't think it's worth his time or energy at all.
✦︎ Very private about himself for no particular reason. Usually takes time to open up to people and doesn't enjoy learning all about a person at once either.

Oo | ─────────────────────────────.★..─────── Born to a muggle father and a pureblood mother, he had an unconventional childhood of running around chasing footballs only to come home to potions and weird-looking books. His mother's presence allowed him to slowly drink in the world of wizardry and to understand his roots, as odd and unfamiliar as they were. A potion-maker, his mother was split between two worlds, returning to a husband whose sole occupations were to write for a newspaper and edit for a publishing house. Her work and her magic were elsewhere, never at home, and Zachary spend a good chunk of his time traveling between her mother's studio, where she would make potions and delight him with bubbles, and their home, where his father spent his life on his laptop. He grew up with very supportive albeit confused parents who didn't really know what to do with a young growing boy. Zachary never really cared for school and was only ever really interested in more abstract subjects like, for example, astrology or mythology. Always drowning in DVDs and CDs, he spent a good chunk of his time as a child watching things, whether they were movies, shows, documentaries or even music clips. When he wasn't being a little mischievous boy with his friends, he liked bothering his dad about how the world came to be and his mother about why there existed two worlds in one. His curiosity was, of course, never stopped and it grew into an enormous monster inside of his chest always scratching at him to learn, to see and to explore. Growing up in Glasgow, he was able to enjoy himself quite a lot with friends, after school, and he never lacked any social capacities that allowed him to stray a little from his family life. The first time he encountered his magic was not really something he cared for. He thought there'd be better uses for it, later on in life, rather than lifting a magazine from the dinner table for no particular reason one night at ten years old, reading a particularly exciting book on the makings of cars. It was inevitable, really, with his mother always asking him if he'd gotten it yet, if anything unusual had happened at school and if there was anything she could do to help him out a little. Not that he was a late bloomer -he didn't think that existed anyway- but his mother, fussy as she was, wanted his future secured and underway as soon as possible. Her wish was quickly granted thanks to the owl landing on Zachary's day one morning on the balcony of their apartment. His letter arrived quite early, for his mother's standards, which meant nothing really since her standards were always a little flimsy. He did feel relieved not to have to spend the rest of his schooling days in an awfully crowded and stinky middle school in Glasgow, and he felt quite happy to leave mathematics and history behind, although he knew what awaited him on the other side. ───────.★..───────────────────────────── |
