I believe I saw Mr. Campbell...

Nabi had been looking around as she waited for Aamon to arrive at the ball. She noticed familiar faces, some of which she knew more than others. The boy she considered to be akin to a friend appeared to be in his own little world, and she hummed softly to herself, Should I greet him? Her hand gently played with her heirloom in thought, Mr. Athanatos should be here soon... Just as she turned to face the entrance, thinking of waiting where it would be less crowded... her gaze fell on Aamon. He was looking back at her, and for a moment neither spoke; her hands felt cold once more as it finally registered to her.

She was attending the ball with him.

The moment many would describe as a fairytale was short-lived as Aamon's legs did not seem to be in the mood for cooperation, as if there were an invisible string— he tripped. Nabi's eyes narrowed while she witnessed his mind's failed attempt to function. Oh goodness... Her hand moved to cover her mouth as she took a slight step forward, her other hand moving toward him before pausing.

Why did she care if he got hurt? It is not like seeing him in pain would bring her sadness...

Right?

Unsure of whether she should ask if he was alright, her hands fell back to her sides, he is fine... he is just clumsy. Nabi's gaze followed him as he attempted to save some dignity from the mishap, a smile tempted her lips, real subtle. He began to speak, his voice fairly loud while he made his way to her, his lopsided grin still on his face. “You look like a moon goddess. Or like a very well-behaved thunderstorm.” Her head tilted slightly, the beginning of his compliment was promising. But would it really be a compliment from him if he did not manage to make things strange?

A well-behaved thunderstorm, what an odd choice of words.

The note of a gentler side— a controlled side to something so... intense. Perhaps he did not know the meaning of what he said...

Or perhaps he knew more than he let on.

A small chuckle escaped Nabi before she could even stop herself, part of her was beginning to grow rather fond of his inarticulacy. Though there were times when she questioned if Aamon used his brain at all, Merlin... give this boy some of your wisdom.. The hint of a blush began to form on her pale face as his words lingered in the mildly charged air. Was it them or the ball? Clearing her throat, she gave a soft nod before deciding to test the waters with a slight tease, "Thank you, Mr. Athanatos... though we would not want to make a goddess jealous now, would we?"

Nabi's faint smile grew, noticing him offering his arm to hold, "Shall we make the dance floor question its purpose?" The invitation caused her heart to flutter. She knew they would dance eventually, but to her surprise, the thought of dancing with anyone, let alone him, never fully registered. Feeling her ears burn a pink hue, one of her hands gently took his arm, "Let us see if those dance tutors you told me of paid off... try not to step on me..."

Her fingers felt the soft threads of the embroidery on the hem of his sleeves, subconsciously tracing the design before glancing down. Emitting a small hum before speaking in an unusually soft tone, "I like the embroidery... it reminds me of my parents' designs", though they focus on flowers and traditional Korean patterns.

Why did she feel the need to say that? It was as if he chipped away at her porcelain mask with each encounter she had with him.

Looking back at him, she finally took a closer look at his attire for the evening. His mismatched eyes went well with the blue he was wearing, her gaze softened slightly before looking away and clearing her throat again, her hands cold and her heart beating as she quickly said, "You look handsome in blue." Her jaw clenched slightly as she began to think of a million excuses to give. She was the daughter of two fashion designers, so it is normal to compliment someone's attire; embroidery was one of her favorite things— Merlin, what is wrong with me...

The music of the ball was loud, and people were dancing.

But why could she only hear her heartbeat?

As Dennis leaned against the wall next to her, Avis tried to hold back a snicker. How suave.

“What brings you to a place like this, Avis?"

Avis pretended to think a moment, looking at around the room with a furrowed brow. "I'm not sure. It's pretty lucky that all the other students-" She gestured around the room. "Also happened to dress nicely and come to this exact room at this time." Her sarcasm slipped out, and she grinned at Dennis in order to show him that she was joking. He was on the duelling team with her, he almost certainly knew how sarcastic she could get.

Accepting his offered hand, Avis smiled and allowed Dennis to lead her to the dance floor,

One of the few good parts of being homeschooled for years was that one of the lessons Avis' mom had taught her was the art of actual dancing. Not that jumping up and down nonsense that seemed to be common now, but real dancing. Avis would be forever thankful for that, considering it seemed everyone in Hogwarts knew how to dance.

That lesson was a few years ago, however, and the only thing that could be said was that Avis was a bit rusty. She was no ballerina in the first place, just an average dancer, but as she and Dennis danced, her muscle memory began to come back to her, and she was at least able to enjoy herself and keep up with him. Dancing was fun, she was finding. "So..." She started - what did people even talk about when dancing? This was insanely awkward. And when anything was strange, Avis retreated into the comfort, the commonality. "I hear the last duelling round is in a few weeks."

Thankfully, Avis was wearing stage flats rather than the high heels that most girls seemed to be wearing. It probably made it much easier to dance, which made her look decent at dancing, though still not wonderful by any means, but it did have the effect of making her still slightly shorter than Dennis, forcing her to look slightly up at him.

This was so weird: was she supposed to be making eye contact? Was this a staring contest? Avis settled for looking loosely straight ahead, and if Dennis happened to be in the way of her gaze, then that was that.

Colin practically vibrated with energy when Emily told him what she was thinking when she'd said yes to going to the ball with him. She said he fun to be around and that it was just natural to go with him! His heart fluttered and he felt so proud! In fact, he hadn't felt this truly happy in a very long while!

And it seemed to Colin that everything was just --- right. Emmi slipped her hand around his waist. It tickled at first, but she held him firmly and he responded in kind. His hand found Emily's waist and they began the dance. Colin felt like the world was spinning around them, like time both slowed down and was moving so fast all at the same time!

Emily's eyes were glittering and her smile was bedazzling! They turned and whirled with the music and Colin's heart soared! He'd felt kind of like this before --- but not quite like this before. It amazed him how this girl was just --- here --- with him. As they danced, Colin glanced to where he'd last seen Casey. The Ilvermorny boy had gone. He wondered about them. It struck him in a moment of inspiration. They must be like me and AngelFyre --- more brother and sister than just friends.

Other kids were dancing as well. Colin paid them no mind.

He and Emily talked a little. She said some things that touched him deeply. Things that he --- that they --- would have to talk about. Sooner rather than later. "Even if for a moment," she said; "you feel like a beast... I'll always be there for you until whatever ails you." Colin's heart felt warm. He knew without a doubt that this was a girl he could trust. A girl he could trust with his inmost secrets.

And he was glad, too, that Emily was smart. She may not have known, but she did pick up on his hint. Naturally, the Slytherin in him laid out a riddle for her. Like Beauty and the Beast. Would Emily get it? Or would it go over her head. "Always finding charm in every living creature," she continued. "No matter who or what they are. And that extends to you! And I think you're exceptionally charming...!"

Colin knew then what his heart had already told him: that Emily would be a keeper!

He smiled. "I do feel like that Em. A beast. You just don't know..." This wasn't the place to speak more openly. Hogwarts had long been open to werewolves. But the other schools --- not so much. Cursa knew about him, of course. Casey didn't. Scout didn't. Those were Emily's best friends. Somehow he'd have to tell Emily. It was easy back in second year, telling Quinn and Red Charlie. He just knew he could trust them, and he told them.

But life was a little different now. He'd nearly lost Liam. He had lost another brother. His parents were likely to separate. This place was so crowded! Colin's eyes darted from one side to another. He shook his head a little. Like a dog. Reset, lad. Reset! Focus on Emmi. Yes, he needed to tell her. "Aye. You do find charm in every kind of creature. Though I don't always understand it, it's one thing I do love about you Emmi. There's something I need to tell you."

They whirled around a final time and the music faded away.

"Just not here," he whispered.

You just never knew who might be listening! His gaze fell upon one of the Wonder Twins. Mey. She'd been dancing with some red haired boy. She looked all flustered. Colin narrowed his eyes briefly, before turning back to Emily.

"It's important. Just --- not right now? Let's dance again!"

The sudden change of pace, the forced-like reactions. Raizel couldn't help but think: Wow, Mey’s bad at hiding things. As if the flustered look on her face wasn't a big sign that she already knew what she had meant. Her reaction and answers just made the older Gryffindor chuckle, the look in her eyes remaining the same. It was enough to say that she wasn't buying Meyra's act one bit. It would be bad to continue to tease her, right? Well, she can consider it as payback for the time she kept bothering her about Zach and the misunderstanding the relationship they had with each other. Why wouldn't she leave him? Raizel thought it was already obvious why she wouldn't but she had decided to play along.

“Oh, right right, there was no need for the two of you to keep on dancing. It’d be wrong to deprive him of the chance to dance with other people after all.” Speaking of, when Raizel turned her gaze to look at where Dennis was, he was already dancing with another. It was impressive how it looked like he wasn't affected by that peck on the cheek from Meyra. That or just like this younger Gryffindor before her, he was also getting his mind off of whatever just happened earlier. Who wouldn't blame him. He looked just as surprised as Raizel but less impressed. More confused. “Guess that girl he just danced with doesn't bother you at all.” When she asked that, her eyes were back on to her cousin, studying her figure. Seeing someone you like together with another person would trigger something, right? While it hurts to see her step-cousin in pain, that was the proof that she does care on who was with Dennis and that a part of her regrets the fact that she had let go of him and let him wander into the arms of someone else. This was just her assuming Meyra thinks that way about Dennis. If she doesn't, why would she even kiss him in the beginning? Crazy what liking someone does to you.

“So, which part of the dance was the best? The holding hands or the kiss?” She asked, trying to get Meyra's attention back to her in another form of teasing. She leaned back on her chair, waiting for an answer with that smug look on her face that's rarely seen due to the constant serious look she always has. Look, she too can lighten up and have fun. It's just that it depends on who she is with, just like how she turns into a total menace whenever she is with Alyssea and Zach. Those were the best times where she doesn't care that much about anything else other than to have a bit of fun.

The Spring Soirée ✤

𝓐mazement struck Lyanna as she entered the Great Hall, now completely transformed to become the perfect place to host that year's Spring Ball, the Spring Soirée. She'd been amazed by the Garden of Eden, but that was hardly anything stunning compared to this. It was a spectacular sight, everything was included. Maybe even a little too much, she thought, spotting her good friend Joseph Sims, seemingly dressed up like a chicken. Typical him, too typical. But she couldn't resist a short giggle as she went over to join him and the other two: Pam and Ruth, both people she knew.

It reminded her of the Christmas she'd spent as a ten year old girl. Her mother had invited all her friends for a party, her fellow Aurors, people she knew from her time at Hogwarts... Lyanna hated it. All the pink, all the noise, all the chic language, everyone coming to her and acting as if she was simply a special baby. It was stupid, why hadn't her mother thought of her daughter, was all she could think of at that young and immature age.

Thinking back at that Christmas, Lyanna knew she should've enjoyed it and appreciated the fact that her mother had done so much to make that day special, even if it didn't feel like that back then. That may have been the most important lesson Lyanna had learned in 2025 so far: enjoy it while it lasts, because it'll end before you can even say that it's starting.

Treading over the dance floor to join the three, the first year weaved skillfully through the crowd, around twirling couples and dancing friends, until she reached Ruth, Jose, Pam, and- Stelle? Since when did she know them? It didn't matter, but Lyanna would figure it out anyway sometime soon, it was one of her "skills", as you could call it. Greeting her friends with a smile, she spoke. "Ruth, Jose, Pam- and Stelle! How are you guys? This event is certainly something, and-" pretending to feign a skeptical look towards Jose, she continued, "a chicken?! What in the name of Merlin made you think that that would suit the light fantasy theme?" she giggled. He was certainly something, and certainly had his own strange sense of humor.

Emily squeaked when Colin twirled her around. He was very smooth for someone who bounced off the walls like a rubber band. Much like his mind, his energy bounced off Emily, whose cheeks began to ache with how much she was smiling. For the first time, she felt like a princess. She never had the looks or grace of one, but Colin McCoire - this lanky doofus that held her so gently in his arms - made her feel special. His eyes were so focused on her, like he was trying to absorb every detail of her into his memory. Having never been used to this much attention either by anyone else other than "Auntie", Emily's neck shrunk a little out of embarrassment, nervously laughing it out of her system.

"I do feel like that Em. A beast. You just don't know..."

Emily blinked curiously at him before her brows creased into a subtle frown. She couldn't tell if he was joking or if he genuinely was trying to be self-depreciative."What makes you say that, my friend? There's nothing beastly about you. Quite the contrary, in fact! You're sincere and kind. You might be a bit hyper, maybe... But you're far from beastly!"

But the look in Colin's eyes... He was trying to tell Emily something. She didn't know what though. That was the thing about Colin. He could be thinking of absolutely anything and Emily still wouldn't guess it. His mind could stretch to all corners and beyond. No wonder he was a blend of mad and magnificent. It made him remarkably unpredictable.

You do find charm in every kind of creature. Though I don't always understand it, it's one thing I do love about you Emmi."

Emily was tickled pink. "Hehe..." Colin wasn't the only one to recognise that trait of hers. "I guess that's the first thing everyone knows about me! But it's true..." As for why... Emily had almost forgotten the reason. Was there even a reason anymore? She just loved to love things.

She looked off to the side as her mind drifted off, not particularly focusing on anything before she turned and smiled fondly at him. "I think I got tired of getting angry and upset at the world at one point. You... You probably don't know this but my parents have near enough been absent most of my life. I've only ever had Auntie-- My guardian, to look after me. I had friends before coming to Hogwarts, but I was nowhere near close with them as I am with you or Scout."

Her smiled faltered a bit, undoubtedly enough to catch Colin's watchful eye. "I never liked that I couldn't bond with anyone besides the woman that's paid to look after me, even if she is the greatest person I've ever known... So I threw myself into books. Homework. Flowers. Animals. Trees. Practically anything I could divert all my attention to, so that in a way, they could pay attention to me. That way, I felt like I was getting to know something. I felt I could get smarter so I could carry on independently without fuss. Even fiction inspired me to keep my chin up, because in spite of it all, I still had my own story to tell. And I do! It's nice actually, to care for animals and plants. To us humans, they're small. But for a long time, I felt small. In some ways I still do. So for me to leave food out for them and make sure they're happy and healthy... It feels like I'm looking after creatures that are a tiny bit like me... And that brings me uncontainable joy."

Her lips curved back into a brighter smile as she gazed up at Colin with sparkling eyes. "Finding out that I'm the only witch in my tiny family... Getting my letter to Hogwarts... Learning all of this. Meeting Scout and you... All of our friends. That's the story I only thought existed in my fairy tale books! And yet here I am!" She laughed. "And of course the dhampirs! The werewolves! Learning about them and their struggles... Their lifestyles. I was enthralled by all I'd heard about them. And I wanted to help them too."

Her cheeks glowed again. "I just wanted to be the silent friend they could rely on to reinvigorate some hope for them. I mean-- Locked away in a shack and drinking blood to curb instincts they shouldn't be at fault for... Not only is it a hassle for them but it's tiring to hear them being called monsters because of it."

Emily exhaled sharply through her nose. Scout and Tesla were far from what "Monster" was defined as in the dictionary. It pained Emily to know that they weren't the first to second-guess themselves like that, even more so that they wouldn't be the last.

"So even if they don't feel welcomed by the rest of the world... I'll welcome them. Deep down... Everyone needs someone, no matter how far away they are." She beamed at Colin. "Kindness can transcend worlds."

The music died down just as her dance with Colin came to an end, but Emily felt a timid shiver down the side of her neck when Colin leaned in to whisper into her ear. The gesture felt a lot more intimate than it actually was.

"There's something I need to tell you... Just not here."

Emily regarded him softly before her smiled turned warm. She nodded. "Of course. Whenever you're ready, I'll be there to listen..." Colin wasn't without his secrets, as he was well entitled to. Emily was surprised she got one out of him before when he confessed his addiction to Darkest Night. But if Colin was wanting to tell her something else, then he must feel at ease telling her in the first place. Something that made Emily honoured, let alone important.

Colin shifted his gaze to something else. Before Emily could follow his line of sight, he pulled her in for another dance, which she excitedly accepted.

Emily raised to dance on her tippy toes as she spun around with Colin. the tail end of her hair flapped behind her with every movement. Each turn, she felt Colin's kilt collide with her dress when they fanned out. She was getting better at it, she thought.

However, she felt her shoulder bump into another student during a twirl, prompting her to instinctively jerk in the other direction only to then bump into Colin! Emily squeaked again when her cheek met his chest and she turned crimson. "Sorry! Good Lord, it's getting busy in here..."

And busy it was. The Hall was filling up quick with dancers. Emily usually sat on the fence between introvert and extrovert when it came to social gatherings, but this was getting beyond ridiculous. She couldn't help but feel a little restricted where she stood now. Was there any room to even dance at this point?

"Oh my... Say, maybe we should get some air? We can come back later when the room's quietened down some?" She gasped and grinned. "We can go to the garden! Oh Colin! Do join me, won't you?"

Harvey walked through the Great Hall with his brand new dress robe flowing dramatically behind him. A new piece he had procured from Madam Malkin in February and surely would have taken weeks to stitch if magic weren't involved. Though the seasonal event was filled with the lighter colors of spring, the boy had chosen black silk. The finest fabric in his opinion, but he surely was not going to be left out of the festivities as his flare of choice was a purple, floral detail to mark the occasion. His grandfather had spared no expense this time around as this was yet another chance for Harvey to meet students and staff alike from all around the magical world and flaunting his status was a must.

The boy paused as his beady eyes scanned the room. Not his preferred aesthetic, but those responsible for putting this soiree together had done a fine job. Like any growing lad he eyed the concession tables with a ravenous gaze. The medieval influence suited him just fine as the smattering of roasted meats and choices of cheese threatened to derail his night altogether, but he resisted the urge. Shoveling food into his face was be unbecoming of a fine young gentleman, though there was no chance that he wouldn't be whisking away a plate for some late night gorging in the privacy of his room. No, for now he was to stay on task and make his presence known to the many influential families that were in attendance tonight.

Many of the faces he introduced himself to would barely bat an eye at them mention of his name. Barrows held no weight or carried any title. Not yet anyways, but he was sure to speak of his grandfather when the conversation allowed it. A fine balance of name dropping, yet never to pushy to come of as bragging. Any who had business at Gringotts may know Larnak the Lender and it always pleased Harvey when people recognized the name. To some it would out him as a half-breed which could work against his favor, but to many it would show his connection to a rather influential goblin. One day the name Barrows would hold such clout, for that Harvey was sure, but if he were to surpass his grandfather one day the boy would need to establish himself. Tonight was just the occasion to begin laying the foundation.

After a few conversations Harvey refreshed himself and stepped aside to keep his eyes open for the next potential engagement. Yet just as he was about to make hi next move a force would nearly sweep him off of his feet! A pang of irritation at whoever had just so carelessly bumped into him rushed through him and as he turned this intruder would be met with a rather nasty glare. His rather large hand that always seemed odd attached to such a little body raised a finger at the witch who had accosted him. "Excuse me. Are you daft? It was you that has run into..." The venom that laced his tone quickly drifted away as he looked up into the eyes of the young woman. A faint red hue would singe his cheeks as he recognized who he was speaking with.

Viktoriya Petrovskaya! Harvey dropped his hand immediately and cleared his throat. He had read about the esteemed Russian family and knew they were rumored to be in attendance, but Merlin's beard! To think he had just run right into her! Not only was this family renown for their wealth and status, but their link to vampires and dhampires had left him rather fascinated. What power that bloodline must hold! Not to mention that if the papers were correct, the witch before him had just recently been named Heiress of the family! Harvey took a deep breath and attempted to keep it cool. "I beg your pardon. You are of course not in the wrong, I do apologize. If I'm not mistaken, you are Viktoria Petrovskaya, yes? I'm Harvey Barrows?" He offered with a slight bow.

“𝓗m?” Ruth turned to face Pam, her mouth still filled with crumbled macaroons. She chewed thoughtfully as Joseph grew nearer, then swallowed. “I don’t mind the fruit, I suppose.” She pointed at the macaroons. “If you’re ordering why I’m snacking one the macaroons, it’s because I was curious at to whether the macaroons here would taste much like those at France.” It was a lame explanation, but surely Pamela would understand? Her interest in various things was known amongst her friends, especially to someone like Pam, who frequented her side.

Her gaze was drawn back to Joseph when Pamela stepped closer to her, her breath tickling her ear. “Not sure,” she replied, her voice just as low. “We’ll know though—he’s bound to start clucking when he’s in danger.” Just a harmless tease, only meant for Pamela’s ears. Her smile grew at the sight of him. Now that he had come a lot closer, Ruth had begun to realise the authenticity of the costumes that both boy and rock donned on. Joseph strode forward with strikingly large and detailed feathery wings, a theatrical and bold cosplay strange on a meek boy. Astra, on the other hand, was cute and ruffled in a mess of yellow fur. “I mean…” Ruth started, not sure whether to agree or disagree. Joseph looked very much out of place, as compared to Astra, who actually seemed decently comfortable being here.

Oh no. Joseph and Janosch’s claims of sentimental rocks were rubbing on her.

Ruth let Pamela turn away and stepped slightly to hide her shudders of laughter from Joseph. “It’s good to see you too, Joseph,” she greeted warmly, then bent slightly to pet Astra. “I see you’ve brought her along. How are you two doing?” She nodded at Pamela’s suggestion to try the macaroons. “These are here to be eaten, of course you can peck.” She giggled before her attention was driven away towards the sound of her name being called out, the voice belonging to her childhood friend.

Ruth’s eyes widened at the sight of her. “Stelle,” she breathed, reaching for a hug. “You look stunning.” Ruth noted Stelle’s usual scent of lavender, complementing the dress of gold and ivory. Her smile faltered slightly at her friend’s withdrawal at the sight of Joseph, then gestured to him vigorously. “Stelle, this is Joseph and—“ Ruth stopped abruptly, hesitating. She wasn’t sure if introducing Astra would look good on her. Her forest green eyes met Astra’s googly ones. Stelle had changed. Would she have appreciated the acknowledgement of a pet rock?

Before she could ponder further, another presence bestowed upon them. Lyanna Oak. The girl had been the one to heave Joseph to the Hospital Wing in the Hufflepuff’s time of darkness, and the thought of the potion made her shudder. It had ended ambiguously, the situation of the Mysterious Potion. There was barely anyone who could help. Ruth smoothed out her features, meeting her eyes. “Hello,” she began, though she was further startled by Lyanna’s quick chatter. “Come on, it’s spring. Easter’s close by,” she tried to soften the blow. Maybe neither Lyanna or Pamela had meant harm by laughing in his face. He sure was a silly sight. But it felt wrong and frighteningly similar to what she experienced in Bath.

Deciding that talking more would be futile, she faced Joseph once again, then curtseyed, holding out a hand. “Will I have the pleasure of dancing with either of you on this very fine day?” She purred mischievously, her eyes lingering on Joseph before trailing down to Astra. Yes, filling the dance card. That was her original motive, anyways.

At Luce’s statement, Devon giggled. She enjoyed gardens, herself, too. So, being invited to a garden was automatically going to be accepted by her. She didn’t know that much about Luce yet, so she didn’t know if it was true or not that no one could say no to her. “I love gardens, and you seem like a joy to hang out with,” she replied, unsure what response the girl expected. Then again, she wasn’t a mind reader.

A smile bloomed on Devon’s lips as Luce mentioned other fun New York locations. “Oh yes, I enjoyed it! Just be prepared for a lot of walking,” she laughed. Her legs hurt for a few days after the trip, but she thought it was well worth it. “Oh my, Rockefeller Center? I love going there! They have such a huge Christmas Tree that they light. It’s such a wonderful experience! I went to that with all three of my siblings. I haven’t ice skated there yet, though. That also sounds fun!”

At Ilvermorny, Devon never came face-to-face with pureblood supremacists. The American school was more welcoming and inviting to muggleborns, like herself. She was never the subject of such bigotry, so she had no idea what it looked like. Hearing Eonaria’s response, however, caused Devon to frown. Something had to be off … and with such a weak response … She felt a pit drop in her stomach, thinking she understood what was wrong. It must have been her. It was something she said or did that caused this reaction. That was now the second girl in one night she apparently angered, while trying to get to know.

“Oh … um … ok,” Devon squeaked back, unsure of what to say to that. She never had to confront someone with such a negative impression of her. ‘What was it that I did wrong to Eonaria? I was only trying to be friendly … Maybe I shouldn’t talk to anyone if this is what happens … or maybe I could just run out of here,’ she thought. To hide her disappointment, she played with a stray strand of hair.

Lifting her green eyes, Devon noticed the boy Luce was referring to—a boy in a chicken costume. A small smile formed on her lips, giving her a distraction from her self-hate thoughts. “That’s an interesting costume to wear,” she replied, wondering why the boy felt like wearing that to a ball. Then again, she frankly didn’t care that much.

Devon sadly waved at Eonaria as she went to dance with the other girl. She felt so confused and out of place. She fidgeted slightly. Luce asked her about Ilvermorny and helped keep her mind off the social slight. “I like it. From what I heard, our sorting ceremony is very different … and I didn’t get my wand until I arrived at school.”

Now Graci was just annoyed. She'd tried bashful. She'd tried apologizing. And her annoyance didn't need a test run. It was a usual feeling, but one she had rarely felt since coming to Hogwarts. But here it was, back in full force.

Mentally rolling her eyes, she remembered she could have attitude as well. Ah, what a freeing thought.

'As if someone did , than I apologize for my time. It was their fault not yours.' she had said, the skepticism in her voice was palpable.

Graci did have to admit a few things though.
a) She was a naturally clumsy
b)She bumped into the person and then was sent sprawling towards this Andronica girl.
and
c) technically it was her fault, and maybe she just desperately needed someone to talk to.
also
d) That was most definitely not the way to go.

"Okay, let me restart." Graci didn't particularly want to be best friends with this judgy girl, but who knows, maybe she had stuff going on in her life. "I'm Graci, you are looking particularly beautiful tonight, and I'm usually not that clumsy. Also, I just lied I'm always that clumsy, but only in large crowds when I can barely see my feet, let alone how close everyone is to me. I have the depth perception of a cow." She paused for a moment. "I hope we can be good friends, and I can feel you judging me for saying that from over here."
Action☆: Getting really annoyed, but continuing the conversation anyways.
