It's a PJ Party!
Lucy turned to the Pikachu who'd just appeared and spoken to her. She shot the girl a bright smile, though she couldn't remember her name, which was very unusual. If she couldn't remember it, then it must have been either long, or complicated, or foreign, or all those at once.
"Uhm... hi there! Yeah, that would be me." Said the girl, looking the other Ravie's outfit. "Whoa, you look very... cool! Now I can finally claim: Pikachu, I'm choosing ya and not feel embarrassed about it!" Chuckled Lucy, joking. "Nah, just kidding. I could never feel anything negative when Pokémon is in the game. Do you like it? Which one is your favourite? Apart from Pikachu, of course."
Channing shifted her weight partly from one leg to the other, grabbing her Sardegna-teddy polar bear with the other hand.
Lucy seemed to be sincerely pleased with her story, so she started grinning.
"Your name sounds exotic, by the way. American, as if..." Lucy closed her eyes and breathed in. For a few seconds, she left them closed but then she opened them and looked back at Xio again. "It just... the sound of it reminds me of the ancient Native American nations, ya know, those that sacrificed people during rituals, to summon the rain, but were also very good at architecture."
Lucy paused for a moment, recollecting her thoughts.
"My point is, have ya ever looked into it to find out more about its origins?" Asked the girl in the end, her Welsh accent somehow becoming more apparent.
Then though, her eyes moved from Xio, for people started moving towards the tables with food. Lucy jerked her head towards them, to atract Xio's attention to them as well.
"Uhm... look at all those snacks! Would you not like to go, check them out from a distance at which we could grab some?" Asked Lucy, waiting for Xio's answer.
"Uhm... hi there! Yeah, that would be me." Said the girl, looking the other Ravie's outfit. "Whoa, you look very... cool! Channing shifted her weight partly from one leg to the other, grabbing her Sardegna-teddy polar bear with the other hand.
Said the other Ravie, and Lucy exhaled, relieved. "Oh, thanks for reminding me! To be honest, your name is pretty difficult to remember for me. I'll have to come up with some story to remember it. It's happened to me before and that always helps! Like... hm, a bee "Xi" was flying through a garden where people were meditating "ohm", where she encountered a parrot "Ara" who wanted to eat her but she stung him and flew away... the brave Xiomara!""I'm Xiomara!"
Lucy seemed to be sincerely pleased with her story, so she started grinning.
"Your name sounds exotic, by the way. American, as if..." Lucy closed her eyes and breathed in. For a few seconds, she left them closed but then she opened them and looked back at Xio again. ♥♥♥ "Wait, you know Pokemon too?" She asked, a grin on her face as she lit up at the thought of another student being raised in the muggle world, like herself. She had met too many purebloods and felt far too out of place in the world of magic sometimes so it was nice when she found someone who recognised the muggle things she was interested in. "Oh, I suppose, I really like a lot of them. I do like the electric mouse types, I guess, like I also really love Pawmi!" She responded as she thought about it. She did have a lot of favourites though. Probably anything cute was her favourite!
Xiomara blinked at the story about her name. She was not entirely sure if she should feel complimented or offended by it, it was certainly... creative, if nothing else! "Oh uh, yeah, I guess so. You could also just call me Torres, if you want. That's my surname. It's uh Spanish. Not American but I dunno what American names are like, I suppose," She responded, "I think it means something like getting ready for battle or uh something?"
In truth, she had not really looked into the origins of her name more than asking her mum what it meant before and why she had given her a name that many people struggled to pronounce. Her mama had replied to say it was a strong Spanish name and it was part of her heritage, so Xiomara did not really question that any further. Perhaps she ought to have!
"Oh uh yeah, snacks sound good!" She replied, deciding to move on the conversation as she did not know what else to say about her name, "So uh, how are you finding Hogwarts? Like, are you used to this whole magic thing or...?" She asked, wondering how Lucy fit into the world of magic if she knew about Pokemon.

"Are you kidding? Of course, I do!" Giggled Lucy. "Girl, I spent most of the time in Muggle primary school, trading the Pokémon cards! All my Muggle friends love them. I mean, it kinda makes sense. They don't know any fantastic beasts, so they tend to invent some. How did you come across Pokémon?""Wait, you know Pokemon too?"
"Uhm... wait. Pawmi, Pawmi...." pronounced the girl, narrowing her eyes and looking up to the ceiling. It almost seemed she was trying to remember something.
"Oh yeah, Pawmi! Ligt punch ten, and... oh my, I-I..." Lucy paused, trying harder to remember the other power. "Blimey! I can't remember what the other power is! But they're cute anyway."
"Nah, I think I'll go with Xio, if it's okay with you?" Asked Lucy, listening to Xio's explanation. "Whoa, Spanish... that's super interesting! Wouldn't have guessed so." The corners of her lips twitched slightly.Oh uh, yeah, I guess so. You could also just call me Torres, if you want.
"Oh, I'm not an expert on anything ancient or American either. Just heard some name of a Mayan god, about which I only remember that it sounded similar. Nothing else. The past is very long and very boring for me." Grimaced the Ravie. "Which topics or subjects are you not too fond of?"
"And are you?" Grinned Lucy, apparently joking. "Ready for a battle, I mean.""I think it means something like getting ready for battle or uh something?"
"Well, my name is easier. It comes from Latin and means light," stated the girl.
As they walked to the food tables, Lucy opened both of her snack packages and just put them somewhere between those that were already there. She then took a bread stick which she started biting off and chewing.
"Uh.. huh, so good so far!" With her mouth full of the morsel she bit off, her words might have come out as 'fo far fo gooh'. It didn't get any better till she swallowed. "Yeah... but I'm still confused as to where's what in the castle." That's why I've been late to every single lesson, eh. "But magic is fine. I mean, my mom is a witch, my dad's a Muggle, so I've got the best of both worlds." Admitted Channing, before she hummed: "How about you? I figure your parents are either both Muggles or you're Half-blood like me. If it's the first one, ain't magic a little overwhelming?"

✽Avery took a deep breath and nodded when Lya said that it had been hard. Avery completely agreed with that. Things had been rough and especially hard. Avery couldn't believe she was still going and hadn't hit the dirt from all that had been weighing on her. She was surprised at how strong she actually was. She was also worried. It seemed that Lya also had something weighing down on her that she needed to share. Even though Avery knew it would be tough for both of them to say what they were feeling, she knew that the weight lifted off their chests would make them feel better. They could share their burdens together. Sharing burdens always made things better.
Avery took another deep breath and sat down on a fluffy bean bag next to her best friend. She knew this was going to be hard, but she had to get it off her chest. Even though Dennis already knew, he wasn't her best friend. Lya was. Avery knew Lya would understand because deep down Avery knew something was going on with her too. Something even bigger than Avery could image. She knew that when it came the time to listen, she would hear every word and be there for her best friend no matter what. That's what best friends do.
"It all started a couple months back. My father sent me an owl that was pretty vague, but it had some news in it that I would never have expected before now. It contained news that my grandfather was sick, and that he may not survive." Avery swallowed quickly. Holding in the tears that threatened to fall as she spoke.
"I waited for a while, but there was no response. It was as if my father didn't even care to update me, or tell me if my grandfather was going to be okay or not. I tried to send him an owl, but I didn't know what to write. His letter had been so vague, and I had no idea what to say." Avery closed her eyes and sighed. Now it was time to tell her what had really happened, and why she hadn't seen her grandfather in so long.
"The reason why I'm so worried about him is because until about a month ago, I hadn't seen him in nearly four years. All thanks to my mother, actually. To keep it short, Dylan and I had just come back from exploring the woods one day when we found his mother and our grandfather trying to reason with my mother about something. She was so angry, and when she saw me, she dragged me into the house, forced me to pack my bags, and we. . . left. I had no idea what had happened to any of them until recently. My mother had made it clear that we couldn't talk to any of them, but I still don't know why."
"It was Dennis who told me that there was a floo network here. I can't believe I had no idea. I've used the floo network all my life, yet when the chance to go home came, I had no idea. Thankfully, my father gave me permission to come, so I left here and spent one night at my grandparent's house with my father. A few hours after we arrived, my grandfather had woken up from his nap, so we went to go and see him. He was laying there in the bed. His face was so pale and he looked so weak. I had never seen him like that before. . ." Avery trailed off. Tears welling in her eyes. She wouldn't be able to contain them much longer.
Avery took one last deep breath. Ready to finally finish her story. "He said that he had Dragon Pox. When I asked him if it was bad, all he did was nod his head. I-I don't even know what to think. All I did in that moment was fall into his arms and hug him until I fell asleep. It was the hardest moment of my life."
Avery smiled weakly. "That felt amazing to get off my chest. Thank you so much for listening. What did you want to tell me?" Avery knew that something hard was about to come. She gently squeezed her best friend's hand. Hoping to spread some strength into her. ✽

It's a PJ Party!

Maisie trotted along gently through the corridors, cupping Mischief in her arms. It seemed deeply odd to be doing this wearing her nightdress, but oh well. It was just another adventure!
The ribbon twirled around her knees with every step. The garment was simple in shape, but the fabric seemed to be almost watercolor designs of animals, both magical and muggle. And the crinkled navy trim lined every hem. As far as Maisie's clothes went, this was simple, even accessorized with her knit ombré slippers.
When they arrived in the ballroom, Maisie took a turn and looked around. In truth, the room was unlike anything she'd ever seen in the castle. She'd briefly been here for the fall ball, hadn't she? But then that whole affair had been pretty boring and she'd left for maze not long after.
This set up, however, seemed better. Pillows and blankets certainly made the place seem cozy. There was also some food and drink set up, which was good because they were both hungry. Hopefully there would be some organic carrots for her companion.
She was heading in the general direction of the food table, when she took stock of the room. There were some people already, including a couple of Ravenclaws about her age. She recalled seeing them about the common room, but not to speak to. There was also a girl she recalled from the grounds when she'd gone for a walk and it looked like someone had fallen from the owlery. Merlin, she hadn't thought of that in sometime. Hopefully, it all had resolved rather nicely.
But then, there was a boy with a ferret. She recognized him twofold. First, way back in the fall's unofficial Quidditch match he'd too been a player, though on the opposing side. From what she recalled, he'd had a good arm. And more recently, his name had been on an announcement flyer in the common room: Aston Beckett, one of the new duelling co-captains along with Mylo. And knowing that, Maisie thought she needed to introduce herself since they'd be working together. And who knew, maybe he'd be more fun than Mylo.
Walking right over to Aston and his ferret, Maisie waved as best she could while not losing grip on her best leporine companion. "Hi. You're our one of our new Duelling Co-Captains, right? I'm Maisie. I just had my first match a few weeks ago. Didn't go our way, but I stood as long as I could." It was not a boast, but rather an attempt to connect and offer some hope they might improve. Sitting beside him, she placed the rabbit next to her. "Oh, and this is Mischief." The mist hopper, however, seemed more interested in observing the ferret and sussing out whether it was friend or foe.

─────Siobhan did always love an activity that was put on by the professors and given her state of mind at the minute, an activity would be most welcome. The skin around on her face that was near her eyes had been healing slowly but surely, though her eyes themselves were in quite a different state. She still found reason to hide them away and forced herself to look down so as not to shock whomever it was she was talking too by the fact that her eyes were sorely damaged. But sleeping was an activity she could partake in without anyone seeing how damaged her eyes were and she did wish fo some enjoyment rather than the pity she was garnering from friends and family.
Siobhan gently 'tsk'ed for Toaster and waited for him to jump into her arms once she deemed herself ready enough to face the music of students in the Ballroom. The noise would be most dizzying but she grit her teeth and prepared herself to deal with the cacophany of voices that awaited her. Toaster let out a soft chirp as he jumped into her arms and she set off very carefully to the Ballroom.
The noise was obvious as she entered and she could make out the fact that it was decently crowded and full of energy for a pajama party. Though she hadn't been to many, she assumed that it would die down as the night went on but what did she know. Carefully and with gentle footing, she relied on her instincts to move her across the room, though she didn't make it through without several knocks into people and or something unmovable. She could feel the bruises on her legs begin to pile up as she ran into things. She just wanted to sit in the corner away from everyone and relax for the night.
Of course that wasn't really going to happen- This school? Relaxation? The last little bit of relaxing she partook in caused her to start losing her vision. If anything she should be inherently more vigilant. Toaster tried to help, bless his heart, attempted to help by meowing loudly at people to get them to move, in hopes of more treats, but it only helped a smidgeon. She was able to find somewhere to sit though and sat down, placing Toaster next to her.

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Saturday, 12th April; Ballroom
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Prat stepped into the grand ballroom of Hogwarts, his eyes sleepy and groggy from the lack of rest this newly appointed prefect was allowing himself. A desperate attempt from a feeble child to improve upon his shortcomings yet he fell short all those times he tried, truly a pathetic and saddening endeavor. The ballroom had been rightfully so converted and arranged into a different setting to accommodate the huge number of students it was expecting.
Prat felt a little excited, this was new. He couldn't believe it yet, a place like hogwarts embracing something as frivolous as "National Pajama Day". Prat's arms cradled Neoth, his faithful dog as the duo made their way inside. Prat eagerly scanned the crowd, hoping to find a familiar face in the sea of students and join his friends in the festive spirit. The pup's tail wagged in ryhthm with every step he took, matching the tempo of Prat's footsteps and jitters. As he made his way through people, with his satchel around his body, Prat's gaze landed on a cozy corner.
This corner harbored Siobhan and her plump feline companion who went by the name of toaster. With a grin that spread across his face, he navigated through the pajama-clad crowd and made his way towards her. Finally happy at the sight of a familiar face, he found himself a seat beside toaster. "Hey Sip" he called out, as he waved a treat enticingly in the air hoping to Toaster.
"Look what i've got for you big man"
He said, offering said treat closer to toaster. Prat gently lowered Neoth, giving the best dog ever more freedom to roam around before offering a dog treat to Neo. Graciously accepting it neo proceeded to walk around in circles near Prat before departing to sniff around the room and find out what's interesting for him in this new environment.
A while later upon settling down, Prat's eyes fell on the burn scars that framed Siobhan's eyes and adjacent skin. He hadn't noticed these marks before, did she always had them or was this a recent development? He hesitated for a moment, not wanting to intrude on what might be a traumatic and painful subject for her. But in the end his curiosity and concern won him over and he asked, "Sio, are you okay?" he ventured further, putting on a gentle voice. "I don't think i've seen these scars before."
Sooner realization dawned upon him as he backed off, he understood how some things were best left unexplored unless invited to do so. He had no intention of Dampening the mood with talks of past. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." He leaned back into the plush cushions present around the before going back into his bag and bringing out a few pillows he had managed to snatch from the dorms.
"Do you wanna build a pillow fort with us?" us here were the friends who had promised Prat a build called pillow fort. Such an ingenious idea, a fort made out of pillows was certainly the pinnacle of architecture and comfort. "Atlas and Val are gonna bring some pillow and make a fort with me for the night."

It's a PJ Party!
Yolanda tried to keep her cool – Pajama party! Eeeeh! Yolanda squealed outside the Ballroom in excitement.
Okay so she was by herself – but maybe this was the time to meet someone new – see new people – or at least she would be around.
Boring, forgotten Yolanda.
Kids were grouped up together by the time Yolanda had entered. She had planned on talking to the girl in charge – but there were already girls asking the host questions – she recognized a Dueling Captain – who was in conversation with someone else. She even caught the end of a girl leaping into a pile of pillows! What a flash of red and suddenly the girl was off again...
Everyone seemed to have somebody to talk to. Yolanda had never been everyone.
Don’t be a defeatist, Yolanda chided herself. This is an opportunity for fun and if not at least you’re out there doing something new. Yolanda had been getting anxiety about doing anything with anyone so she had to force herself into her pair of pajamas before she had finally been able to put her feet out the door and walk herself out.
Luckily her mother and older brother had bought her a tasteful full-sized pair of PJ’s specifically for a sleepover (rather than the random large shirts and PJ pants Yolanda usually strewn herself in). A pink top with a unicorn and plain pink matching pants. Yolanda herself had a shaved head and a Unicorn horn she bought (that her brother had told her not to wear with it, but Yolanda didn’t care). She felt great.
Yolanda’s older sister used to tell her, “Looking good, feeling good!” to try and encourage Yolanda to try and look her best on days she didn’t feel great. Dress up, have some fun! Looking good was more in how you felt and did sometimes help one feel good – or at least Yolanda believed it now.
Eyes up – she recognized another Dueling Captain, a cat sitting there with a girl, people building a fort, it was fun but… overwhelming.
Yolanda took her horn off hoping no one had seen it.
What should she do?
Thank the host.
Yolanda forced herself to wander over, head up, eyes up, don’t smile at anyone but don’t NOT smile either… try to focus. ‘Walk Lanny’ her youngest older brother used to say. She never knew what to do or say.
“Hi! Thanks for hosting this party – er- and nice to meet you. I really love it!” Yolanda really did love it and was hopeful about the night.
Yolanda tried to keep her cool - it was a fun Pajama party! Eeeeh!

It's a PJ Party!
The doors to the grand Hogwarts ballroom swung open, allowing in a welcome breeze and a new burst of laughter in the room as Atlas stepped into the Ballroom, today was a playful day as the students get to celebrate the day of National Pajama Day and the Slytherin b0y was dressed in neatly PJ robes. Tonight he looked like a passing glimpse into a much softer page of his past as he wore midnight-blue pajama bottoms with small embroidered patches of glittery moons that sparkled under the light—a loose coordinating long-sleeve shirt that seemed be warm and comforting and his black hair was hidden under a bonnet and he wore plain slippers while holding an enchanted satchel.
The instant his gaze rolled over the room in a careless manner they landed on tuft of curls in the corner—it was Prat and Atlas' demeanor relaxed at once. And sitting next to him was tail thumping out in a rhythmic drum beat, it was Atlas' baby love, Neoth. Yes baby because Atlas is convinced he's the father and co-owner of Neoth. The small boy's lips curled up into the smallest smile as he approached, sidestepping clusters of kids showing off novelty onesies and fuzzy socks. Neoth sat up straight at attention, bounding forward with that irrepressible energy that never failed to bypass him.
"There you are," Atlas muttered to himself, he let out a soft laugh as he stooped to greet their favorite four-legged friend. He scratched behind Neoth's ears just as always. "Hey, buddy. Keeping this one out of trouble, I hope." Neoth greeted him with a lick on the hand, tail slapping wildly before darting back to Prat, it seems he was plainly excited about the whole thing. Finally, the boy stood upright again and confronted Prat, holding out an enchanted satchel. "Here," he said in a low voice, "Everything we need is here."
He handed it off to Prat.
"There. I stol—I mean there's plenty of pillows and blankets, but enough to build something large—fort-sized, of course." And without asking permission—because he had been smart enough to hang back—Atlas dropped down next to them, tucking his legs under as he leaned against one wall, watching Neoth who was already padding the edges of the ballroom with unmanageable curiosity. "I nearly got caught," Atlas whispered softly, between the two of them. "It was a call, story for another time"
He turned to see another student he was not familiar with, they have not met but it seemed the girl had scars. And out of concerns, the young Slytherin had to ask, "Those scars seem recent, you good? I am Atlas by the way."

It's a PJ Party!
@Atlas Anderson @Prat PassAlmost as if he were totally prepared (not), he rapidly dug through his clothes to see what it is he could wear for a nice and funky old sleepover. Well, not so much a sleepover, but he is not sleeping in his own bed in this specific situation at least. Clark could not find anything clean clean to wear, as the pajamas he had in the pile were a bit pungent. He remembered his dad had pajamas, so he would go up to see him in the Wing, but he was not there. He looked on the shelves and found paw patrol pajamas. He ran out of the Wing with the pajamas in his arm and rushed up to the floor above, the Ballroom. Before he entered, though, he quickly threw off his shirt and pants and slid on the pajama shirt.
---
He thought he looked like a bloody clown wearing baby blue colored fabric (along with some other shades of blue). There were like three dogs on the front, with the text basically saying that it was time to sleep. How stupid was that? Clark did not need a piece of fabric telling him to go to sleep. He looked at the shorts, as he stumbled through the doors putting them on. When resting on his hips, he noticed that they were a little loose, so he would use both of his hands to hold both sides up against his hips. He walked around, wondering why he was not carrying a wand on him, a fool he was.
He saw Prat, and he saw Atlas. Those two looked like they would be great future boyfriends, if they would ever confess that they were gay (oc: clark is just headcanoning it, even if untrue)! God! He did not really feel the need to go initiate a conversation and get into an argument, so he walked closer, an attempt to eavesdrop. He couldn't help it, but he felt his eyes locking contact with Atlas. "Oh, bbb." He said, trying to reference some sort of 'baby boy' acronym that he saw written down on a page in the margins of his textbook.
With the fact that he was practically holding up his shorts, and with the gibberish he just said, of course he looked like a dunce, a fool. All he was missing was a giant cone for a hat with the letters "CLARK" written from top to bottom.
He grunted. Fine. He was going to interact. He let the right hand drop its grasp on the shorts and immediately grabbed at it again as it drooped fast. He was going to wave, but it didn't seem like it was working out for him. "One of you guys please use the shrinking charm on this, please.." He stared at Prat, hoping he was not going to try to be cruel and cast it on Clark himself. He hoped the spell would be used to make his clothes fit.
