Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw Dodgeball
The day was a beautiful one for Scotland, the warm sun making it's way across the vast forests and mountains. Something very foreign for most of the students that are residents in the United Kingdom, or at least for Marla, due to switching back and forth between Scotland and England every month. Nearly every single second of every day was somewhat overcast, but there was not a single thing the girl could point out that was rather bad about today. The only way to describe it was flawless.
Making her way out onto the grass by the lake, a mischievous grin spread across her face. The equally excited and jitteringly nervous whispers by other students passing by did nothing but make her look forward to the tournament more than she already was. Peering around for anyone she knew, she spotted a familiar, devilish pair of blue eyes immediately recognizing the boy as Kyle and rushed over, tapping the Gryffindor on the shoulder. "Let's fry some eagles, oi?" She giggled in his ear, going on her tippy-toes to say so, playfully shoving his shoulder before looking in the middle of the patchy grass. Her head of house, Pendrast, was in the middle with... Floating dodgeballs? Of course, being in primary school she had played dodgeball during PE, and knew mostly how it worked... But magic always did put a spin on things. Something she valued about it greatly.
Professor Pendrast began to speak as the area was now nearly filled to the brim with students. Everything she had said went in one ear and out the other for the short girl, lectures were a hard thing to stay committed to. It's a phenomenon with how she got an O average last year with that kind of patience.. But, eventually, hearing the word "Go!" from her head of house made her step into action. By the time she had come to her senses, all of the balls were taken and being thrown, and there was no time to wait around. Whipping her wand out of her pocket, she gripped it tightly and noticed a girl across the field that looked rather familiar. A Ravenclaw (obviously), with dark brown hair that she immediately recognized as the other hand in Savannah's whole Dark Witch Society gig. They had made eye contact for a second, and all of a sudden the eagle waved her wand and cast a spell at her. Traitor! Knowing it was all in good fun, she gave the girl a look as if she was yelling 'it's on!' and decided she would fight fire with fire. "Tarantallegra!" she yelled clearly, waving her wand in a fluid motion. The game was on, and there was no way in hell Gryffindor was losing!

Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw Dodgeball

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ ✠ ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━The moment Barnaby officially started the game most of the players jumped into action. A few however seemed to be unsure what to do, or not even all that interested in the game. A dark haired boy simply walked into the far corner of the field and remained there, unaffected by the game going on around him.
Meanwhile @Kyle DeRook was the first student to go for a ball. He grabbed the first one the could find [Ball 4] and took aim for a Ravenclaw boy who while maybe not that agile still had enough presence of mind to evade the ball that hadn't been thrown that precisely in the first place. @Oliver Hart had is wand raised and ready already, casting [Obscuro] at the poor boy at the same time as @Phaedra Stavrou had the same idea, throwing a [Steleus] of her own at Kyle.
Kyle was a courageous boy, but not all that lucky today. The Sneezing Hex hit him in the side as the Blindfolding Spell conjured a blindfold over his eyes, obscuring his vision. He'd need to pull that off soon before the Ravenclaw group decided to pounce on their weakened opponent.
At far behind his teammate, @Alan Vanes grabbed a ball of his own [Ball 6] to hurtle it on the other side of the playing field. He aimed for Phaedra, any maybe he could have landed a hit, but suddenly the boy was distracted by... what exactly? A bad feeling some might have called it, a Terrible Presence. His throw at Phaedra landed uselessly on the surface of the Ravenclaw side instead.
Unlike Kyle however, he got lucky, because in his outstretched arms landed the ball [Ball 2] @Adam Harringtom had thrown at him. The Ravenclaw had stumbled at the last moment, caught off guard by a feeling similar to the one that had distracted Alan, an aura of something ominous hovering over the playing field.
Seeing Adam mess up his throw, @Griseldis Edelhardt saw her chance to take down an opponent. She cast a beautiful, perfectly executed [Green Sparks Charm] towards the Ravenclaw, whose head was turned right towards the sparks aimed his way. He would certainly see stars for a bit there.
@Janus Lumley , unnoticed by the majority of the field, picked up another of the Ravenclaw ball and went for it, but unfortunately his target was @Adrian Calhoun . With an impressive show of reflexes, Adrian caught that ball [Ball 1] right out of the air, making it another miss for Ravenclaw.
There was one ball [Ball 3] left on the eagle side of things however. @Ruthie Greer and @Dymphna Teague both eyed it at the same time and made a dash for it, but Ruthie ran so fast that her momentum knocked the unsuspecting Dymphna right on her butt when they collided. Ruthie, eyes on the price, chucked the ball at @Maggie Parker who was right in the middle of casting a [Green Sparks Charm] at @Tatiana Crane and as the ducked sent her spell wide, missing her intended target at the price of keeping her head in the game.
Seeing Dymphna knocked prone on the ground, @Euphrasia Millie saw and opening and swiftly took it, casting a [Green Sparks Charm] at the half-Veela girl, who couldn't get to her feet fast enough to evade it.
Meanwhile Eris got her hands on the last Gryffindor ball [Ballthrow ball 5] at the busy Ruthie, who should have made an easy target, being distracted with trying to knock out Maggie. Ruthie threw her ball, but had no chance to realize what happened after, as a horrible, unsettling feeling took hold of her. It came has fast as it was gone, but by then it was too late: the ball had hit her square in the chest.
"One extra life for Ravenclaw! You can stay in," Barnaby hollered from atop his broom. Ravenclaw had started with one players less than the lions, and thankfully for Ruthie that had given their team one free pass. She would remain in the game... for now.
Having seen Janus throwing a ball [Ball 1], @Max Avery tried to stop the other boy from attacking his team mates, casting a [Green Sparks Charm] at the Gryffindor, but Janus wasn't fazed in the least, evading those sparks with an agility that was astonishing for someone so young.
Still on the Ravenclaw side of things, @Arc Perscivious was definitely not paying attention to the game, and the enemy noticed. @Xailah Alptraum say the easy prey for what it was, concentrated hard and cast a picture-perfect [Obscuro] at Arc... or at least she had, if she hadn't looked at @Kaegen Deathmote from the corner of her eye and suddenly been befallen by a feeling of pure dread, her spell hitting the Great Lake harmlessly.
Not missing a beat @Katrina Walker seized the chance to team up on the eagle team, casting [Rictusempra] at Arc, who was still oblivious to what was happening around him. With her target unmoving it was no wonder that her spell hit the boy.
Not to be outdone, @Cecily Quinn was about to even the odds for Ravenclaw with a beautifully timed [Obscuro]. Caught up in celebrating her hit on Ruthie, @Eris Fawley was caught completely off guard and suddenly her world went dark.
On the other side of the field two girls seized each other up. Without knowing they'd had the same idea, each targeting the other. @Marla Quinlan and @Tatiana Crane both cast feeling of dread and the spell hits the lake at the same time but Tatiana's aim was poor and Marla stumbled right after her spell went flying. Their spells perfectly mirrored each other, an impressive sight to behold, and hit at the same as well.
A second later Marla was dancing the robot while Tatiana's feet started an impromptu tapdance.
There were still some players unaccounted for, hiding in the masses, either biding their time or confused by this mess of a game. @Lavinia Cloven and @Neculai Lazar stood right beside each other in the back of the field, not far from where @Kaegen Deathmote had wandered right in the beginning. On the Gryffindor side @Victoria McGregor and @Edward MacHugh where in similar positions, though where both better hidden due to hanging around different corner of the field.

Using counter spells to undo things like the dancing spell counts as a whole action just like other spells, the same goes for pulling off the blindfold, that takes one whole action.

Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw Dodgeball
Kyle pulled back and got ready to throw the ball when he felt a pressure against his side and he started to violently sneeze and within a matter of moments a black blindfold found itsself tied tightly around his eyes. Kyle let out a snarl and hurled the ball wildly and because of this it came nowhere near to smacking anyone on the Ravenclaw side.
Kyle stumbled slightly as he sneezed over and over, his head pounded and his throat and sinuses ached. It would take more than that to keep him out of the game. They thought it was funny to take away sight and make it hard to breath? Alright. Lets just see how much they like this then!
Kyle reached into his back pocket and pulled out his Cherry wood wand, then after a particularly violent sneeze he stood up tall and drew a deep breath. He moved his wand in a small spiral and pointed it in the direction of the Ravenclaw team and he cried out "FUMOS". Lets see how much they like it when their eyes struggle to see through smoke and their mouth and throat get coated with it. He might be blind, but he was gonna make them all suffer too!

No one targeted her so she continued to seize up her opponents. A few students fell as the balls thrown at them hit home. Katrina debated what to do next. Kyle cast "Fumos" at the opposing team and Katrina decided two were better than one. At least one was sure to hit someone. Her Chestnut wand held firmly in her hand.
In one swift motion she spun her wand counter-clockwise and shouted, "Fumos!" into the crowd. She hoped the spell would hit home. A soft grey light zipped from her wand. She backed into the crowd once more trying to make herself a hard target to hit. She had nothing against the rest of the Ravenclaws so targeted no person in particular. She hoped that kindness would be repaid by the other team.

Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw Dodgeball
[font=book antiqua]It seemed Phaedra didn’t need any help afterall — she wasn’t sporty but she knew her spells. The blonde however bumped into her fellow Ravenclaw [RUTHIE] and missed her chance for a ball completely. Feeling a little humiliated, she made a move to get up but was suddenly blinded by a green light. It didn’t hurt much when it struck her but it caused her to tumble back onto the ground.
Dymphna felt as though she were wasting time, what with all the laying around she seemed to be doing. Everything was moving quickly above her, balls and spells going all over. She was finally able to bounce back, getting up as quickly as she could. Her body was already a little sore from the fall but she could handle a bit of rough; she wouldn’t play Quidditch otherwise.
She found her target — @Euphrasia Millie. If only she were allowed to use the Slug-Vomiting Charm. Instead, disarming her would be a good option. The girl might be a decent duelist but Dymph didn’t think she would be that good with a ball. “Expelliarmus!” She made sure her wand movement was precise. Hopefully it would be able to make contact with someone in Gryffindor, with the smoke spells being cast one after another.
ACTION: Cast Expelliarmus at Euphrasia.

Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw Dodgeball
Her spell had hit! Thank god! She grinned and did a tiny happy dance. Perhaps she was getting better, like Meenauh had said. She managed to dodge a few of the flying balls and look back over to the Ravenclaw side of the field. She really didn't want to be out at the very beginning of the game!
Now was a perfect time to show resilience for Quidditch! Whether she had made the team or not, was still to be known. But if she did make the team, she needed to be ready to be quick on her feet, and think fast. Her bright purple eyes continued to search the field wildly.
She clutched her hand tighter around her wand, still looking around the field. As she was thinking about spells to cast at the Ravenclaws, she could feel someone looking at her. She whipped her head around, trying to pinpoint the feeling of eyes, when she saw the girl she had shot her spell at, pointing her wand at Millie! She didn't have enough time to think, and she couldn't think about any spell to cast to block it, so she did the next best thing.
Leaping over to the side, Millie desperately tried to avoid the girls attack, and hopefully it wouldn't hit.

xxxxWords couldn't describe how satisfying it felt to land a hit on someone. With help from another kid [OLIVER], Kyle was sent into a sneezing frenzy, blinded, at that. Phaedra raised a brow when, between sneezes, he didn't even bother to remove his blindfold. What an odd decision, but she'd take it.
xxxxAlthough Kyle was weakened and it'd be a smart move to hit him again, she figured it would be of greater use to her team if more lions were incapacitated than just the one Captain standing before her. She also didn't want to piss him off. Frankly, there was a fine line between playing and just being mean. Nevertheless, the game seemed to be descending into a state of madness already, and Phaedra was desperate to help find some footing for the Ravenclaws. A few feet away from her stood a blond girl [KATRINA] who, like Kyle, announced her intent to cast the smokescreen. Waving her wand in the second-year's direction, Phaedra would attempt to separate the girl from hers.

Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw Dodgeball
Janus had seen his ball fly through the air, perfectly aimed at the Gryffindor girl, and then she... she turned and caught it in her arms like it had been just a pass. He knew he wasn't the strongest bloke around, but that was depressing.
Only a second after that though, he got the overpowering feeling of being a sitting duck and jerked out of his position, just in time to see green sparks fly not far from his head. As he turned around, he saw that the caster had been a tall Gryffindor with dark blond hair; but before he could get a better look at him the other boy moved, mingling in the growing chaos.
And the chaos was growing. A lot of the other players hadn't even run for the balls, choosing to just draw their wands and let loose on the spells. He knew only mild impairing was allowed, so he wasn't worried about injuries. And besides, spells couldn't get you sent out of the game, only a ball could.
All the same, he scanned the pitch around him to see if he was being targeted; he recognised most of his fellow Ravens by having seen them at their table or in the common room, like that tall one that oozed cheerfulness or the weird one in the corner whose whole being seemed to be screaming "don't get near".
His attention was suddenly attracted to a specific corner of the Gryffindor half by some very loud sneezes. He saw a dark-haired guy, certainly older than him, start snarling while the sneezing hex worked its magic (he was finally able to use that phrase!) on his sinuses and getting even more angry when a blindfold spell hit him. As a result his shot went way wide of whoever his target had been; Janus smiled seeing his own team be so effective.
He suddenly recognised the snarling one as a Quidditch player, having seen him around in his playing robes one time. A popular one, then; it would do good to eliminate him.
To his surprise though, instead of trying to set free from the charms the Gryffindor bloke screamed "Fumos!" blindly in their general direction. A different Gryffindor also followed his example with the spell and soon came the reply by Janus' own teammates.
This wasn't a team duel however, this was dodgeball, and there were three balls lying around on their half of the pitch. Smirking, he ran to grab one of them as his gaze locked onto the fumbling figure of the Gryffindor captain. Sitting lion.
He threw the ball at him with all the strength he had.

Alan just threw the dodgeball [6] at Phaedra, having missed her and troed to dodge whatever was flying at him. He was kind of surprised when he was able to catch one of the balls, while he dodged the other one that flew his way.
Out of the corner of his eyes, Alan saw one of the dodgeballs flying into the direction of a blindfolded Gryffindor that was sneezing his lungs out. Name, name, name- wait! "Rook! Dodge!-", he would shout, while he just dropped the ball [2] he was holding in a quick manner. He then reached for his wand that he had in a holster and would shout "Aer Callidus!". He would aim the spell into the direction of the ball[4] that was being thrown in the second years direction and hope it would change the direction in which the ball was being thrown. Hopefully it would work and help to miss hitting Rook, who could not really dodge on his own. Alan figured it was a weak, yet smart move of the Ravenclaw to attack the boy, who could barely do anything as it was now. Still Alan did not want to lose one of the people in his team because of such a move.
If successful Alan would try to look out for any dodgeballs thrown in his direction [no action].

Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw Dodgeball
Dodgeball was proving to be as intense as she had expected it to be. She’d gotten the ball over Dymphna (probably an accident the two lunging at the exact same ball), but it wasn’t until she turned around after throwing the ball towards Maggie that she realized she’d knocked Dymphna down to the ground. “Sorry!” she called out curtly as there wasn’t very much time for proper sentences out here on pitch. She had thrown her ball but couldn’t even watch it fall and miss as she felt another dodgeball hit her directly in the chest. Putting a hand up towards where the ball had hit her, she looked up at the referees to acknowledge her exit. Luckily, Ravenclaw was down a player and as such, Ruthie was allowed to stay in the match for the time being. A brief respite would have been nice, but dodgeball left no time for that--or grudges. She'd get the Gryffindor who'd hit her another day.
Regaining her focus, she scanned the field for another ball, but she couldn’t see any nearby. In the chaos of being out and then in again, everything seemed to have moved. Everyone seemed to be moving all over the court, racing for balls and shooting off spells. And that was when she remembered: she had a wand. Drawing it, she looked across the field for a target. By now, the Gryffindors seemed fairly dispersed, so she simply looked for the nearest one: a young girl with short brown hair, who seemed around her age [ADRIAN]. With a firm grip on the wand handle, she pointed her wand and called out, “Tarantellagra!” as she swiftly crafted the wand movement. It was a simple charm—she was a first year after all—but hopefully it would have some impact. Anything would be better than her missing throw from earlier.
ACTION: Cast Tarantellagra at Adrian Calhoun.
