I actually think Colin and Emily are pretty good for each other. They've got some opposites: he's a Pureblood, she's a Muggleborn, so there are plenty of different perspectives and expectations. Colin is much more likely to set someone on fire if they mess with someone he loves; Emily (from what I can tell) is much more likely to seek reconciliation and understanding. I think Colin needs that as much as Emily will need to learn that, sometimes things can't be reconciled.

A bit of luck, really. Good timing. Some good mutual friends.

If you look back, Colin really did love Clair. Her writer decided that her best course of action was to create a new character. Colin had already run into Emily a time or two, and rather recently he's felt a very great attraction! Also, his absolute Best Friend (AngelFyre) approves.

Colin's heart is --- interesting --- to say the least. He's pretty good at determining who is trustworthy. And he's determined that Emily is trustworthy.

OOC, it's very simple! I get along with Emily's writer and I enjoy writing with her. I just let Colin and Emily do the rest!
