The Lion’s Challenge
OOC (disclaimer: there are mentions of bullying) - when I was younger, I was on an app that had a chat. (For context I am a Christian and was in a Christian club.) There was one day that someone came online and began to seriously bully and make fun of me for being a Christian. This got a lot of people to join in and it caused a lot of people to become angry with me for being a Christian. Instead of backing down, I stood up against them no matter what they said. Luckily I’m not on that app anymore. I was tired of being accused just because of what I believe.
IC - There was a time where Avery found a fellow student (slytherin) being attacked by a forest creature. Instead of walking away, she charged right into the danger even though she didn’t know the person. She was able to scare the creature away, but now she has to see if she can get that person to safety after that person ate a mysterious berry.

IC Mell has stood up to bullies (FIOM), and joined the headliner despite being scared of how people might react to her work.
OOC, honestly I'm not the courageous kind... I think the most 'courageous' thing I've done is reporting my sports teacher to the principal, cuz I suck at sports, and she just makes my life at school hell (separating me from my friends at events and such) bcuz she hates me, didn't really change anything, except that she targets me even more now, but this is like my last year (last 2 days, to be exact) in school anyways, soo

IC- Sage has been through a lot in her life by being disabled and losing her mum at a young age as well as her estrangement from her father. She's had to be brave and stand up for herself numerous times, but during the winter break (late December 2024) she stood up for herself from her father and told him how she really felt about everything he put her through.
OOC- well this is a blast from the past
(warning for mentions of bullying)
Alrighty that was a very long reply, but nevertheless, have a happy Gryffindor day

I have many things I could name having been someone who has had some unfortunate experience as a victim of bullying. Around this time last year, I was beginning to have some issues with two individuals I considered my best friends due to my IRL identity and not believing in the same things they did. One of them said many horrible things to me and was very not accepting of me in general despite saying she was. She ceased any friendly interaction with me and would frequently made me feel like the only way I could 'fix' things and 'apologize' would be to stop believing the things I did and to only have her same values and change something about myself that I can't change. This was a very hard time for me and I was constantly being made to feel that I was less than her for my identity. Long story short, she never apologized in any way that would do justice to her actions, nor did the other person. But, and this is something I'm proud of, I was able to get help to support me during this time. We (me and those supporting me IRL) would work together to try and handle the situation after I came forward and admitted that I needed help because I was being bullied by people supposed to be my friends. I did my best to educate them and explain that they have their beliefs, I have mine, and that's okay. I had to be very brave during this time (especially as rumors were being spread about me and I was losing other friends) to keep facing them and moving on which has been very hard- I'm still healing- but I was able to stand up for myself and say "enough" which was very hard for me to do seeing as I thought of these two people as my best friends where they only considered me that if I acted like a clone of them. So long story short: I had to stand up for myself to get through a long period of bullying.

ic - Brookline has stood up to her distant jerk father, (while crying and well, cursing at him), twice, and was able to get a response out of him. she had reminded herself more than a handful of times to calm down and breathe after the winter holidays.
ooc - mentions of bullying and insults. -- since forever, i’ve always been bullied and shamed for my looks, skills and the way I play sports and how bad i suck at them even when they freaking suck at the sports too. and i’ve gotten better over the last year, about probably everything, not letting the words cut though me and actually telling the bullies to leave my friends and I alone.
actually this week, this really horrid kid (i’m not trying to insult him or anything but he can be quite the bully), - someone who likes to bully me and others - starting pestering my friend for her food, of course she said no but he kept and kept pestering and i hate it when the boys in my class and the other classes are so rude and well, one of the things that got me so depressed last year. anyways, i got so fed up, didn’t even think about my actions and took something out of my own lunch, but i can’t remember if i really did gave it to him or he just didn’t take it. i did tell him to leave my friend alone, and i can be so impulsive that it hurts sometimes, and i insulted him just like he likes insult others. i learned something that day, you can’t fight fire with fire. you can’t just insult them right back, you just can’t, because I felt so bad about afterwards even tho i was getting approvals and praises that wern’t empty but they felt right from my friends, (but is that bad? idk i just felt bad), i just couldn’t see insulting people just because they kept bullying people.
but anyways, happy happy lion day!!

[quote]IC, Trace has always been quiet, and a shy person, but she did stand up for herself, whenever she could. Not a lot happened to her in elementary school, but she did know that people were talking about her behind her back. Anyways, a big fear of hers that she's conquered was going into the Forbidden Forest. Obviously, she went in with someone, but she was afraid to go in, but she faced her fears and didn't allow that to stop her. Also, last year during St. Patrick's day, she got bullied because she had green hair, and well, she tried to stand up for herself, but made an enemy anyways.

The Lion’s Challenge
Ruth's faced quite a lot of bullying pre-Hogwarts and she's very fond of defending herself (and getting detention in the midst of it) but she's never been so afraid of standing up to what she thinks if right or standing up to defend her family. Once a few years back, just when her little brother Ace had finally started to go to the same school as the rest of the siblings, the two of them had gone to the playground nearby after school. The neighbourhood kids were, unfortunately, there, and the first thing they said once Ace stepped foot into the ground was that he was too young and he couldn't play on the swings. Ruth did chide and tell them it wasn't very nice but they just shrugged it off and teased at Ace, telling him to come again when he grew up.
Ruth's attempts at negotiating went futile, So Ruth did the only thing she knew how to do-- punch them.
And even though that probably wasn't the best thing she could have done, it was also one of the only things she knew how to do--and yes, Ace did get his chance after that. Ruth's been trying to hold back on her anger issues and using her hands to solve every problem and its been going well so far.
That said there was one occasion in Hogwarts when she stumbled across a blood purist bullying. If you were to ask Ruth why she punched the boy, she'd protest that he lunged at her first. Alongside Evpraksiya, the two did help the bullied kid out and the pure-blood stormed away.

OOC
Me and my friends from my coaching had taken a trip, arranged by the institute, to an amusement park. We were a group of 12 or so people, and we were taking turns to get out of the queue to drink water, since it was quite long and we'd been standing for about 2 hours in the same queue. When my group left, there were other students of the same coaching standing behind us in the queue, but when we came back, we saw that random people now stood just behind us, meaning, they had defied the queue and entered unfairly. However, when we tried to join our entire group again, the people behind us started cursing and shouting at us for trying to "break the queue", ironic i know. Now this group of random people consisted of 2 guys and 3 girls, and the guys leave the queue to stop us from entering. As we try to advance further, ignoring their shouts, one of the guys pushes my female friend inappropriately, and she feels uncomfortable. I tell her to go get in the line, stand in front of the guy, and slap him. Keep in mind, he looks like he is a decade or so older than me. Seeing this, the guys in our group also leave the queue and come out of the line, all forming something like a defence line. Curses and threats were thrown at each other, this matter was taken to the security of the amusement park plus our teachers.
What I am surprised about though, is that the 3 girls of the 'enemy' group were supporting the guy who pushed my friend, as if he had done nothing wrong. It is literally sad to see such people in the world.
However, I'm glad I slapped him and I also called the girl who defended the guy a very colourful word, looking straight into her eyes, very satisfying.
We calmed my friend, who felt uncomfortable, and then we tried to enjoy the rest of our trip, but it was still a not-so-good trip.

ooc. I (V) have been in several RP communities and something i remember was during a time where the political climate was... charged, I and friends noticed that people (POCs/minorities) were being unfairly represented in those communities and we were able to stand up to the people who were in charge and take a stand. I felt proud to get to represent myself and for those who didn't feel like they had a voice.
ic. Valk is a chaotic lion at her best moments, however, she stands up for herself often and has fiercely defended her friends and immediate family for what she believes in.
