I knew the moment I had the seeker, we were the next target.

As Senior guided me around, I felt like my consciusness was more on the bludgers on our way.

In merely a blink of the eye, I felt the hardest hit on my shoulder, tipping me off balance, and soon I was falling, With the largest thud, I crashed. My vision focusing in and out, I could see the senior nearby, down upon taking his second hit.

"Well...damn." I curse under my breath, knowing very well the match is no longer on our side.

CHASERS

Ravenclaw was wiping Gryffindor and they had no intention to stop now. After Andy had scored so much and with the falling of the other chasers, Meyra would take up the post of getting some points for the lions. Unfortunately for her, Quinn/Lavinia noticed and immediately put a stop to it. With another set of hands, they were able to maneuver with ease while still having a way to grab the quaffle. While the first year put up a good fight, there was little to do against the two sharing a broom as they threw the ball through the hoops one shot after another. "And it's looking like another 50 points for Ravenclaw! That makes it 180 for the eagles against 30 from the lions! This is looking like a tough match-"

Triumphant over finally finding the snitch, Aly would make sure that her head start would stay that way with the new Seeker. While noting the proper location of the snitch, the Ravenclaw veered off away from that point as though in heavy pursuit of something. Aodhan, with little other clues to go on, would follow- there was almost a glance in the right direction and a glint of gold but the Gryffindor would miss it for Aly's feint, finally noticing the complete lack of the snitch after the chase ended. A chance lost to a trick and a search to start anew.

BEATERS

With Aly in the lead, keeping her in the skies was the new mission for Ebony. Rather than the precise strikes of before, Ebony hovered near Aly's chase to keep any of the bludgers away. Oonagh, hoping for two birds with one stone, aimed a shot towards the duo but the ferocity of Ebony's guarding and the speed of the chase threw the bludger in a different direction, both targets unharmed and Ebony left unscathed for the second time. Jorah, meanwhile, retaliated against Oonagh's attempt with a bludger of his own. A distracted target was an easier target, the speed of the strike leaving little chance for escape. The force behind the strike splintered wood, the Gryffindor's broom snapping from underneath as both went plummeting to the ground. Kora and Finnegan did not seem interested in completing the penalty lap, but a lap around wouldn't disqualify them as the new targets of Jorah, the bludger that fell the first Gryffindor rushing towards its next targets. Sharing a broom would not help any maneuverability as they seemed almost stuck in place- sitting ducks, or lions, for disaster to strike. Once more would the spectators hear a sharp crack as a broom splintered and a metal ball connected with Kora. Darkness overtook her vision before the ground could find its next victim while Finnegan clung to his last bit of consciousness. Unfortunately for him, no one could save as all three Gryffindors fell.

Andy, resting from his last quaffle attempts, would find no birds that lost their flight. Winnie too would catch a moment as she completed her penalty lap, returning to play with only 3 Gryffindors left.

Ebony flitted around Aly as she chased down that sneaky golden ball, keeping an eye out for any bludgers while admiring the Seeker's skill as she performed a feint. As she reminded herself not to get distracted, she caught sight of a bludger flying towards them at a distance; fortunately, the bludger seemed to veer off in another direction.

Cracks sounded through the crisp air; squinting, Ebony made out three falling bodies, realising that the opposing team only had 3 players left on the field. The sweet scent of victory -- she could almost smell it. Almost.

Aly Salinger had actually never gotten to chase the Snitch before.

It seemed that most of her albeit rare Snitch-catching attempts had ended in an Alley Oop, admittedly one of the sixth-year Ravenclaw's favourite strategies because in name alone. (Some Ravenclaws, Aly included, had even taken to calling it the Aly Oop. Brill!) However, rather than signal for it when she sighted the Snitch, Aly felt a wave of confidence wash over her. For the first time, she wasn't rushing to catch the tiny golden ball for fear of a better, older, more experienced Seeker grabbing it first. For once, she had time to spare.

So what to do with it...?

A few Seeker strategies flitted through her mind, but almost before she could weigh the pros and cons of each one, Aly spotted the Gryffindor second-string Seeker out of the corner of her eye. A younger kid. Perhaps it wasn't the nicest strategy, but damn it, she'd just reread Quidditch Through the Ages the previous week and the part on the Wronski Feint was still fresh in her mind. Plus, how many Seekers got to say that they pulled off something so dangerous and, frankly, exciting? And so Aly dove toward the ground with nary a second thought, only once glancing behind her to make sure that she had indeed caught the other Seeker's attention and was being followed, with her heart beating a frightened and yet exhilarated message in her chest: Don't forget to pull up. Don't forget to pull up. Pull up. PULL UP!

She pulled up at the last second to avoid smashing into the grass below, and though the other Seeker didn't seem to take any injury either, nor did he see the Snitch, from what Aly could tell. Though it was a dirty move to trick someone so young, she also couldn't help feeling a sense of pride wash over her - the thought, perhaps, that her father would have felt the same. Best of all, she still knew where that frustratingly shiny gold ball was...

The Gryffindor team were dropping like flies, and Nicholas was helpless to do anything. By the time his number was finally called and he left the bench, the lions were reduced to a paltry force, and there was very little he could actually do to help. The fifth year inhaled deeply, rolled his neck, and practically snarled. They were down, but they weren't out, and he would do what he could to make sure they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

As soon as she picked up her broom from where it was leaning against the bench, Meyra felt a sudden rush of adrenaline. So far, she has managed to keep her emotions in check, neither overexcited nor desperate from the frustration of seeing so many of her team members fall. But now that it was her turn to fly and play, she felt the weight of responsibility fall on her shoulders. It was her first game, and it was being savage! Ravenclaw had such a good team, experienced and older players...even though the Gryffindors were determined to do their best, the numbers were not in their favour from the start of that match. She knew it, but still...it was hard to see your team's effort being shattered under the eagles' weight.

Flying above the benches and heading to her position on the field, Meyra noticed two familiar pale-blonde heads. The sight of the twins wearing Gryffindor vests almost made her stop mid air in surprise. She heard him cheering for her and something in her chest felt suddenly lighter, more confident, full of hope and gratitude. There was something special about those two, she could feel it even if she could not explain it. Her mother used to tell her that sometimes our souls recognise each other much sooner than our minds can rationally find an explanation for that connection. She had never quite understood that concept until those two had made their way into her life. It seemed like fate kept bringing them together on multiple occasions. They shared the same curse, yes, that was the obvious part, but Mey felt it was more than that, something in Colin and Liam's eyes told her it was more than that...but what? She couldn't answer that, at least not yet. But she smiled at them, a bright, honest smile, before turning away and focusing on what needed to be done.

But what she needed to do was defeat a well-trained, two-headed, four-armed Quidditch beast. No offense, on the contrary, they were simply unstoppable. Quinn and Lavinia won all quaffles from her and scored every each turn. Meyra tried her best, she almost fell from her broom multiple times, but she couldn't make it. She was too small and inexperienced when compared to the ruthless Ravenclaw duo.

"How in hell am I going to do this?" She thought, while seeing half of her team fell once again to the ground. It seems like the only thing they would win would be the record number of beds in the hospital wing...

Was then that she look at the benches again, she saw the McCoires first, but then her eyes caught someone else. There, in the middle between the blues and reds, was another familiar face. Dennis was there too! And... "He made a banner?!"

Even if the match was proving to be a very hard, almost impossible, challenge, Meyra felt like a winner in that moment. She was not expecting to see so many people cheering for her and showing their support, specially when it's not their house and in Dennis and Liam's case she was actually playing against their house team! Woah! That was crazy! So now...how could she fail her friends by feeling so defeated and giving up on trying? She could not do it, she would never do that! She would keep doing her best. It was an absolute massacre and Avis was living for it. Her competitive spirit wouldn’t let her feel the least bit sorry for the 3 Gryffindors left standing… er- flying over the pitch. Victory was at the birds’ fingertips, as was the snitch at Aly’s and Avis watched with held breath as the Seeker’s feint seemed to throw her opponent off the trail.

Avis smiled to herself, leaning back against the wooden bench and tapping her foot happily against the packed dirt. Hopefully, it would be smooth sailing from here.

The intensity is rising every second and only one thing is clear:The eagles are having a great advantage. The game was not over, but if Ravenclaw scored a few goals, even if the lions somehow caught the snitch, the eagles will still win, because the lead might get to 150 points or higher! Andy never knew that his first Quidditch game will be so sucessful? Andy already scored 60 points, and for a keeper, the position that is ment to DEFEND THE HOOPS, that was amazing. But since Andy did his offensive job, he wasn't done with the defensive part, but good thing that Andy only let in one goal in the hoops, and it would be really good to keep that up!

As far as Ophelia could tell, things were going pretty good for Team Ravenclaw. The Gryffindor team's players were falling-- literally falling-- from the sky, one by one, and the Ravens were scoring so many points. Maybe they could even finish this game up, one more victory added, if their seeker could just find that snitch!
