It seemed to Pyxis that the Ravenclaws’ slow start was building up to an explosive crescendo. Not only had Mylo and Jessamine succeeded in taking down their upperclassman with their previous spells, they also kept that momentum going with their twin Knockback Jinxes, dead set on causing some damage before their inevitable ends. Jessamine’s Flipendo almost missed Emma, but an ill-timed swerve caused the spell to hit her. The girl’s attack also served as a distraction, setting up Mylo to strike Emma almost perfectly. Their cast was powerful and smacked the Hufflepuff right on her chest. EmmaLee wanted to return the Flipendo favor that took down her teammate, but Mylo was too locked in with a beautiful cast and a gorgeous dodge. However, even though the Ravenclaws were picking up steam, the Hufflepuffs weren’t losing any. Emma continued her Cracker Jinx assault, and while the poppers were conjured too close to her, Jessamine was still in striking distance. The tiny explosions caused a world of pain for the Ravenclaw and she met her end.

“Stop!” Again. Three knock-outs one after the other. This was a brutal match. And with one Ravenclaw left, Pyxis hoped the wix could get some good hits in while keeping up his fancy legwork.

Mylo was being attacked left right and centre, a lighting bolt from above, cracker jinxes from below and a knockback jinx aimed straight at their chest. Even so, they managed to dodge everything, and even he wasn't quite sure how they had done it but there was no time to dwell on such things they could ask Maisie and Avis for feedback once they finished the duel.

As a knockback jinx left their teammate Jessamine's wand Mylo thought of the perfect strategy, sending in his own knockback jinx right after hers. Emma would be dodging the first one and hopefully wouldn't have enough time to dodge the second one either. And luck was on their side, as the spell hit her right in the chest perfectly as planned.

Unfortunately Jessamine wasn't as lucky and she wasn't able to dodge the cracker jinxes that had seemingly also targeted their caster, not that Mylo minded, it made their life a bit easier but it did seem very painful.

Watching as their teammate was removed from the stage to get treated Mylo spared a glance at their friends in the stands, knowing that now was not the time to start losing focus. Readying themselves for the next round of spells Mylo hoped everything would work out.

Lightning hits on 19-20.

Things really could have gone in Mylo’s favor here. Pyxis thought that the Ravenclaws had really come alive at the end as they focused all their strength on hitting Emma. They’d given her a good thrashing with the Knockback Jinx and it was definitely a feat to be celebrated. And Mylo, while they were definitely weakened, wasn’t exactly hanging on by a thread. Both Emma and EmmaLee’s jinxes had to hit to take them out. Unfortunately for the wix, that was exactly what happened. EmmaLee, who wasn’t having the best time getting her spells to hit their targets, finally had some success. Her aim was almost perfect, smacking Mylo in the chest. Emma’s spell, the same as her Hufflepuff partner, was less on the mark but still struck Mylo on the shoulder. And with that, Mylo went down, but not before they released one last Knockback Jinx which collided with Emma’s hip. It wasn’t enough to take her out, but the Hufflepuff would definitely need to visit the Hospital Wing for some care after this.

“And there we have it!” Pyxis yelled, addressing the crowd as Mylo was taken from the piste. “Your winners, The Blazing Badgers!”
