Her prediction was right, dueling did distract her from her crippling depression. Though at the cost of both her teammates missing their spells. It was a waste honestly. The beanpole has cast a spell at her and it missed but splinters still made contact with her skin. Ara’s pain tolerance mentally and physically got better since the incident so she walked it off (with a little “ack” as she barely got hit)

Hanako was blissfully unaware of whatever was going on in Kim’s mind. Yes, his ego was bruised when he didn’t hit his target, but it was not the end of the world. And if it was, at least he wouldn’t be able to see it. But that was an interesting..strategy… . He supposed this was an annoying disadvantage. We'll see how to duel goes.

@Rose MoonHi all, thanks for pointing out that I made an error in my mod post. Hanako has Blindvision, and thus should only have had his accuracy/evasion halved by Obscuro. I have adjusted the mod post accordingly.
Because this could have affected strategies for both teams, and the deadline is about to occur, I will give an additional 48 hours past the deadline to update your actions if you would like. However, if you would like to keep your actions the same, just let me know via owl and I can begin modding.
Note: I need to check with the team on precedent on how this affects RP deadlines (which is originally in less than one hour). But due to the short time remaining, I recommend posting now in case it's determined that that remains unchanged.

Hanako was right - it wasn't the Gryffindors who needed good luck. Only one round in, and he'd gotten blindfolded, Ara was half-hit, and only one of their spells had gotten anywhere at all. Mahlioz sighed, annoyed. Her flipendo had missed by so much it had gone closer to Rose than AJ, the original target. Great, not only were they younger but they also had bad luck.
Alright, they needed to get their head back in the game, they couldn't afford to be getting distracted...

Last round, it had been an even start. The Slytherins had even got a slight advantage, despite Hanako's blindfolding. That was how it had started at least...but the Gryffindors were certainly not about to give up.
What happened next shocked even Jake, as the Gryffindors suddenly fired back with a return salvo. Three spells in unison at two different targets. Hanako, still blindfolded, got the worst of it. Flipendo, confringo, all flying towards him - and while Hanako seemed to still be able to see at least a little bit, it was hard to dodge those two spells at the same time with perfect vision on a good day. Both drove him backwards, so even if his team wanted to help him get unblindfolded they wouldn't be able. He tried to throw a cracker jinx back at them, but it was too difficult to aim through all the chaos and he was unable to hit a single one. A wind jinx at the same time pelted at Ara, just as he tried to return fire. The combination made his wand backfire, driving him even FURTHER backwards, all while Mahlioz was forced to watch the chaos perhaps trying to think how to help his team!
Hanako was still partially blinded, and both he and Ara had taken heavy fire. What were they going to do now to turn this back around??

Aaand they had gotten distracted. Spells were flying everywhere, most of them at the Slytherins, and though not a single one was aimed at Mahlioz, she just froze. What was she supposed to do? What was even going on? But as fast as it had started, the round was over, and they hadn't moved at all. It was too late. Cursing themselves for being so useless, they readied their wand. Come on, you've got to get this right. She couldn't bear to look over at her teammates, who had counted on her - she was used to duelling by now, she couldn't just freeze like a novice! They had to fix this.

Ara rolled her eyes, ‘I’m literally going to a funeral next week and I guess my body would be sore’. The Slytherin girl’s cousin died. That doesn’t happen daily, nor does anyone want it to happen. Hell, she felt bad for Kanae. It was her twin brother afterall, they may not have psychic powers but the two have been together even before birth.

AJ casts his gaze over to Rose in the aftermath of her spell. "Guss ah shed lev th' splosions teh yoo!" "Guess I should leave the explosions to you!" He compliments, making note of her practically flawless cast of Confringo.
Wanting to prove he still had a purpose on this team he next honed his gaze on his target and drew back his wand to cast. "Ventus!" A strong blast of wind shot torwards Ara just as she was readying another Flipendo against him. It would seem he was a bit more on the ball this time as he managed to disrupt her casting with his spell.
He noted a look of disheartenment or maybe resignation on her face and his brow furrowed in concern. "Hee noo, ah recken ef weh wurr en th'seem yeer ah'd beh oot af thes dool alruddy!" "Hey now, I reckon if we were in the same year I'd be out of this duel already!" His compliment wasn't disingenious. Despite their being a few years gap between them it was undeniable that the Slytherin team were incredibly talented, and the tides could turn against the Lions at any second. AJ knew that duels were meant to be an enjoyable, exhilirating experience. So it always pained him to see a dour look amongst any contender, even if he was unaware of the true reasons for it.

This hadn't happened in quite some time. Twice in a row the snakes had only gone after AJ and no one else. It seemed as if they were all laser focused on him, probably because of the threat he posed to the others. But then again, Rose was also the same year. She would have also been a threat to the snakes. Kim was actually surprised by their guts to go after one of the higher years rather than him. He'd always considered himself to be the weakest link in the team because the white haired teen didn't have as much experience as his seniors. It only stood to reason that the weakest links should be taken out first if they could do so. But Kim had to admit, it felt nice to actually not get attacked for once. On his side, things were taking a turn for the better. Rose managed to strike with her spell and effectively hurt Hana, while AJ was able to do some damage to Ara. Even Kim was able to make contact with Hana too with a pretty nice Knockback Jinx! Hana went after AJ with a Cracker Jinx but even the resulting chaos following it missed everyone on Kim's side. Ara's Knockback Jinx failed right off the bat, perhaps because of her nervousness? Unfortunately for her, Ara ended up having the spell backfire right onto herself, dealing a lot of damage onto her body. But somehow, she still managed to hang on! Mahlioz seemed shocked at how much accuracy Gryffindor's duelists had all of a sudden and froze in place. All in all, it was not a good round for the snakes. But they were doing their best in an unfavorable position. Still, it was only the second round, there were quite a few rounds left to go and anything could happen at this point. Kim knew enough to not let his guard down. Many duelists had thought they'd won from the start, only to have the tables turned on them midway through the duel and ended up losing in the end. Kim had experienced both sides of winning and losing and it was a challenge and a trial for both outcomes. Today would be no different for Kim.... tag.
