Description from Cabin Sign-Upsℂ𝕠𝕥𝕥𝕒𝕘𝕖 ℂ𝕠𝕞𝕗𝕠𝕣𝕥
xxxWhile the first theme was underwater and the second was the beach, this theme would be based in the forest. The moment one entered a cabin with this theme, one would be able to hear the gentle pitter patter of rain falling in a forest. And if one looked out the clear window, students and adults alike would see a lush green forest filled with tall trees that formed a light canopy. Every once in a while, if people stared outside observantly they would see creatures native to the forest that was recreated. Perhaps they could see a squirrel, or colourful birds, and perhaps even a moose. A person familiar with forests may be able to identify the view as one from the North American continent. The fog would phase in and out throughout the week the students were there. The living room would be warm and cozy, with a fireplace, as well as a beautiful rug that filled up the place. There would be multiple couches as in the other themes, although they would be dark and brown and black to fit the foggy forest scene. The dining room table would be made of stained wood and fit all eight members of the cabin together, where they could play games, study, or even eat a snack they brought from Beauxbatons' dining hall. There would also be a square coffee table made of wood as well. The bedroom would feel homey and rustic, as if one was camping in a wood cabin up north. The view of the forest would still be visible and the columns and roof of the bedroom would be shaped like a tree trunk. Bunk beds would line the opposite wall so that the view of the forest would be visible from every bed, but at night time the curtains would cover the windows so that people could sleep without the disturbance of light. This cabin would have candle holders the shape of a small cottage in each of the rooms for light at night.

Very sorry, but I decided to rewrite this after receiving an issue from staff.
"Ooh!"
Emily pushed the door open fully, her bags slipping softly from her arms as she marvelled at the interior of the cabin. It was five times cuter and sweeter than she initially pictured when she and Casey settled on Cottage Comfort. Emily hauled her bags over to the side, away from the door, and circled around the room to admire its nooks and crannies. The gentle sound of trickling rain filled the silence other than Emily's gasps of intrigue. She immediately legged it to the window where she marvelled at the lush forest standing outside beside the cabin. It was a lot more colourful and pleasant-looking than the Forbidden Forest she had gotten very acquainted to back at Hogwarts. It made Emily feel all fuzzy while she stood there, admiring it. A pity it was illusionary, otherwise Emily would leave scraps there for the animals living around Beauxbatons. At the same time, who was to stop her from doing that anyway around other parts of the school?
Her fingers drummed along the mantlepiece above the fireplace as she explored the inside some more. She slipped her shoes off, showing off her salmon coloured socks as she smooshed her feet into the fluffy rug beneath her. The wood that held the cabin together was fragrant and smooth as her fingers would come to discover as they danced beside her whilst she explored. Emily peeked her head into the dining room before going to see the beds she and the others would be sleeping in. After being nosy in all the rooms, Emily hopped back into the main room.
"It's lovely!"
Emily was quick to slip her shoes back on and prance over back to her bags. She hoisted a large red duffel bag over her shoulder, containing her books, clothes, wand, a few leftover snackies from the trip over from Hogwarts and a few games she brought with her. She then grabbed her rucksack that held all her stationery, some sheets of paper for letters to send to "Auntie", her stones, her tarot cards and a small phrase book to help get around all the French lingo she would have to try and decipher during her stay.
Carting the lot on her back, she deposited them beside one of the lower bunks, one that sat close to the right of the room. Emily liked to sleep with a wall beside her. She carefully dropped the bags beside it before turning her attention back towards the front door where she was startled by some loud thumping and scraping sounds coming from outside.
She jogged towards the door and as soon as her hand made contact with the handle, she heard some disgruntled curses coming from the other side, all from a voice she was very familiar with.
Eagerly, she opened the door and there stood Casey, looking like he was about to collapse under the weight of the two large kit bags he had piled on top of his back. Emily greeted him without missing a beat.
"Casey! Here, come in! Come look! It's just as pretty as we imagined it!"

february 12th, 2025 wednesdaywc: 700 dhampir | terrible presenceinteracting with: @Emily Shephard mentioning: meowWhen Scout had gotten the letter that Zyair wasn't going to go to Beauxbatons for this magical school expedition, she was bummed to say the least. She had had hopes that she would be able to reconcile with him after the disaster that was the Gala of Mysteries, but he had claimed that he had already made plans to go back home around that time. A total bummer!
How fun would it have been to stay in a cabin with her best friend, and Zyair? And Casey too, she guessed. When it came to international expeditions, it was kind of hard to get Emily alone from Casey. Maybe Scout was just a little jealous, why did Casey get to have her Emily all to himself? He wasn't even that nice.
Even if it was hard to admit she was getting just a little fond of him.
Feet tapping against the floors of such a pretty school, Scout was already a little enamored. She wasn't the type of person to appreciate architecture or anything of the like, but you'd have to be insane to not appreciate just how gorgeous and intricate some of the buildings were. If only all of France were like this, that'd make it worth learning French from Zyair. Maybe she'd even move there, if given the chance.
"Je m'appelle Scout," she mumbled to herself as she walked, "je viens Hogwarts... what else was I supposed to memorize? Oh, excusez mon français- hey, that one didn't take a genius to learn. I didn't even have to read Zyair's translation, I got that one by myself." Even if learning a new language was hard, she appreciated Zy taking the time to write a few sentences for her to practice. If only they had gone to a school in China, then Scout would be the shining star of her friends! My name is Scout | I'm from Hogwarts | Excuse my French
The thought danced in her mind until she finally came upon the cabin she was supposed to be in. Scout had only skimmed over the list of occupants, but she recognized almost everyone. Emily, Casey, Ava... Colin... and some others she thought she might knew but wasn't too sure. At least it was mostly full of her friends! She'd probably have fun anyway, even if she didn't know a single person in her cabin.
"哎呀!" Oh wow! She exclaimed, eyes wide at the interior of the cabin. It was so cute! Kind of cozy and rustic, but she thought that just added to the charm. It almost reminded her of old muggle hunting cabins, her dad had told her stories about old muggle American friends he had that would hunt deer and turkeys recreationally. The thought made her a little sad, but the cabin seemed like something those friends would enjoy.
"Emi!" Scout dropped her bag on the floor to run to her friend, squeezing her Hufflebuddy. "Hey! Oh my gosh, I'm so excited!" Joy soared through Scout- even if she already knew that Emily was going to be in her cabin, nothing compared to actually seeing her friend there. It was a not-so gentle reminder that Scout was going to have so much fun in the upcoming week. Nothing was going to bring her down! "Oh, and hi too, Casey."
She hesitated, but quickly gave him a one-armed hug. It didn't feel right to leave him out. Not anymore, at least.
After giving her friend sufficient rib-breaking hugs, Scout stepped back to take another good look around the cabin. "So... have we chosen beds yet?" She asked, tilting her head. "I want a window one, I'm gonna spend all night watching the squirrels. And the birds! Do you think there's a book in the library about animal species...? We could spend a whole afternoon trying to mark all the ones we find..." Eventually her voice lowered to a quiet tone, humming to herself as she looked out the window.
"Who else is gonna be here?" She asked, snapping herself out of her trance. "I saw Ava and Colin, but I don't think I recognize anyone else. Or maybe I do... actually, I'm not sure."

"Ghuff...! Haah...!"
Casey stumbled along the path until he finally reached the door of the cabin. His back was killing him, or much rather the anvil-weighted bags he was carrying on him. His folks always joked that he often over-packed when it came to family holidays and trips but Casey couldn't find a fault with it. He needed a lot of things to keep his patience in check these days. Even if that meant carrying the unicycle with him this time after weeks of neglecting it back at Ilvermorny.
What could he say? He had particular tastes.
Afraid of not being able to pick the bags up as soon as he put them down, he instead rapped at the cabin door, his hand straining against the weight of one of the bag straps as he tried to reach for the door handle and push the door open. When it got too painful to try anymore he kicked the door irritably.
"Frickin' door!"
Barely a minute afterwards and the door opened, revealing Emily's curious and gentle features, all to be topped with an excitable look as she pulled him inside.
"Casey! Here, come in! Come look! It's just as pretty as we imagined it!"
Casey nearly fell on top of her when she pulled him by the arm and in through the door. As soon as they were both inside, Casey dropped both bags and leaned against the wall to catch his breath. His eyes scanned the interior of the cabin.
"I'm sure it's as pretty as you imagined it... It's looks a little darker in here than I thought it'd be."
He smirked when he saw the funny look she gave him before his eyes landed on Scout. Of course she'd be rooming with them. He watched as the girls hugged each other. It took a solid moment before Scout even registered his presence.
"Oh, and hi too, Casey."
That sounded cheerful. Casey matched her "Oh, It's You" tone when he responded to her. "Hey..."
But then suddenly he felt her arm encircle him into a hug! To say that caught him off guard would've been an understatement. The two of them had been in a slow but steady build up to being genuine friends since the Autumn Ball, but it was still slightly unnerving to see Scout go from being "Angry Girl" to "Calm Girl". It still took Casey time to adjust to this new Scout.
She was just... Weird.
When Scout let go, Casey began pushing his bags along the ground towards the bunk beds. He made it halfway across the floor before looking up to see Emily's questionable eyes on him. He shrugged casually.
"They're heavy."
He shuffled them over towards the bedroom door and relaxed. The bunk on the right would do, if it meant he wouldn't be hoisting two large anvils above his head on a top bunk.
"Take the window all you want," he said to Scout. "I'm crashin' here."

@Emily Shephard - @Scout Fu-Hai - @Ava Winchect - @Colin McCoire - @Jun Mayumi Mochizuki - Cursa McCoire - Casey StoneMeyra had never traveled so far without her parents' company. In fact, she had never spent so much time without their presence in her daily life. This year was a year of many changes, full of new experiences and adventures. If on the one hand this made her feel good, as it was a sign that she was growing up and that her parents trusted her enough, on the other hand, she couldn't help but feel a little helpless, as if she was missing her greatest support, which forced her to leave her comfort zone and become responsible for herself. It was a big step in her life, it was something important that she knew she had to overcome and learn from, it was like a passage to a different phase in her life and she had to be prepared to face it and prove to those who trusted her that she was more than capable of rising to the occasion. But still...it was a little scary!
Thankfully, she wasn't completely alone in this so-called "passage of life", as she was fortunate enough to be in the company of her best friend and cousin, Jun Mochizuki. Things somehow seemed so much easier that way, having someone who always made you take a little piece of home with you. Meyra was very happy that Jun also wanted to come to Beauxbatons during this celebratory season, It wouldn't be many times that this opportunity would arise, to travel to a new country and get to know another school of magic. Before arriving to France, Meyra had spend some of her time reading about the place. The history of Beauxbatons and how the school was described. But even with all her research, she couldn't help but feel a sense of awe when she arrived at the castle on the mountain. It was so different from the medieval Hogwarts, it had such a different charm and beauty.
But they wouldn't stay inside the castle, instead they were led to cabins on the castle grounds. Meyra and Jun would stay in a charming country house whose decor was inspired by a majestic American forest. Dragging her suitcase behind her, its wheels spinning and bouncing between the bumps in the road, the young Gryffindor finally made her way to the cabin. After knocking softly twice on the wooden door to announce her presence, Mey opened the door and crossed the threshold into the building she would be sharing with other students for the week. As soon as she entered, she was greeted by a beautiful leaving room decorated in shades of green and brown, a lit fireplace that illuminated and spread its comforting warmth throughout the room and by some of her colleagues who had already arrived at the place.
"Hello!" Meyra greeted the young boy and the two girls that seemed to be already entangled in conversations. Their faces weren't completely unfamiliar, especially the guy she recognized from the spectator benches at the Potions Championship. She had never been a person given to much socializing, always preferring to stay in her corner, talking to strangers had always been something that left her feeling a little anxious and out of her comfort zone, this way of being had only gotten worse after she had suffered the attack of the werewolf that had transformed her into one of those creatures. It was a fear that always accompanied her, that people would learn to judge her when they became aware of this side of her, so she preferred not to give too much trust to new people, keeping her presence as discreet as possible.
Her green-amber eyes flew over the room, appreciating its details and ended up fixing on the tall window that allowed them to appreciate the beautiful landscape of the lush forest. The trees were imposing and ancient and Meyra could have sworn she had seen a squirrel climbing one of the trunks at a rapid pace. The soft sound of the rain in contrast with the pleasant warmth of the room made Mey feel a pleasant shiver that caressed her back and made the hairs on the back of her neck slightly stand up. "This place is beautiful isn't it?" She asked towards no one in specific as she kept her attention glued to what seemed like an enchanted forest.
With a pleasant sigh, Meyra carried her luggage towards the common bedroom, where she found the bunk beds. Choosing an empty one that she hoped to share with Jun, Mey placed her luggage on the bottom bunk and opened it, pulling out her usual sketchbook and her pencil case with some coloring pencils. She had also brought her camera, but for now, she preferred to spend some of her time recording the beauty of the place with her drawings. So, once in possession of her materials, Meyra returned to the living room, choosing to sit on one of the comfortable sofas that faced the window where she would remain drawing until her cousin arrived or someone else interrupted her.

BANG!!
The door to the cottage slammed open! High voices could be heard shouting outside!
BANG!!
The door slammed shut again!
BANG!!
The door slammed open!
"COLIN McCOIRE YOU'RE CRAZY!!" The shouting voice was clearly New England judging by its accent.
Colin laughed merrily! "Maybe, Cursa McCoire! But I'm going to win this race!" This voice was obviously Scottish.
"No you're not either!"
"OWOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
Beauxbatons had no clue what was about to set foot within its ancient and serene precincts! The beautifully contrived woodland scene surrounding the Cosy Cottages had just been invaded by the McCoires! Colin from Hogwarts and his cousin Cursa from Ilvermorny.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" shouted Cursa!
"DUCK!!! BRING YER BESOM DOON LADDIE!!" shouted Colin!
"Wait! What's a bes --- oh craporific!" Colin laughed as Cursa got his broom more or less under control. He didn't bring his own, so Colin lent him his experimental Cleansweep. He was doing pretty well, Colin reckoned. He'd flown the ancient thing right side up for almost half of their impromptu race! "Colin! I'm gonna kill you!"
THUMPA-THUMPA-BANG-&-SCRAAAAAAAAAPPPPE!!!
"Oof!"
"Ouch!"
"Ye okay laddie?" Colin asked as he extricated himself from the heap of limbs, brooms and other outdoor related detritus the two McCoires had managed to drag in to the cottage.
"Alright!" Cursa replied. "That was awesome! Let's race again later!"
"Ye're on McCoire!" said Colin with a huge smile on his face.
"Ye're gonna lose again McCoire!" rejoined Cursa, clearly revelling in his well earned victory.
"I hope this is the right cabin, Cursa."
Cursa shrugged.
Colin looked around. Several kids were already in residence! He knew most of them already. "Oi ScoutieMeyRandomBoy!!" he called over to the others. "WHOA." Colin's heart skipped a beat. He ran his hands through his birds nest of hair. He blushed slightly. "Ayo Emmi!" Colin said happily. Cursa snorted. "Shutitcursa." Cursa snickered again. "I mean! Er!" Colin blushed deeper. "It's really nice seeing you here!" Colin straightened up as he smiled at Emily.

Aberto!" cried Cursa. The door to the rapidly approaching cottage flew open! Cursa tried desperately to right himself on Colin's antique racing broom. It was all he could do to keep it flying fast and level and not bonk himself on the ground!
"Colloportus!" shouted Colin in response! The cottage door slammed shut and locked!
"Craporific," Cursa muttered as he finally yanked the ancient broom upright for the fourteenth time since they'd taken off racing towards their assigned cottage. The wank had locked the door! "Alohamora! Aberto!" Cursa cast in quick succession! "COLIN McCOIRE YOU'RE CRAZY!!" Colin only laughed. He was as mad as ever! What was the word he'd learned from Liam? Parking? No --- barking! The door slammed open again.
Cursa cut in front of Colin just as his barking mad Scotish cousin tried to claim the victory for himself. "That is totally not going to happen, Colin!" Cursa shot back to his white haired cousin. He faced forward just in time to see the cottage door's heavy wooden lintel approaching his beautiful face!
Cursa shouted!
Colin shouted something in Gaelic!
"Wait! What's a beso---! Oh craporific! This broom of yours is cursed Colin! It's trying to kill me!" Just in time, he managed to nose down and duck his head just in time to avert total and head splitting disaster! The boys careened through the doorway and tumbled to a halt in the middle of the great room, a tangle of jeans and kilts and red and white hair.
As they got up and sorted themselves out, Cursa thumped Colin's chest. "You owe me one of galleon things of yours!" Colin groaned. Cursa smirked. Colin wondered if they'd gotten the right cottage even. Cursa shrugged as he looked around. He noticed second year Casey Stone right away. Cursa gave him a little salute. "Hey Casey! See you made it one piece this time!" He'd heard about Casey's adventure while arriving at Hogwarts last fall. He desperately hoped that there wouldn't be any more explosions this time around.
Colin greeted the kids he knew --- but their names were all jumbled up, so Cursa had no idea who was who! He bapped the back of Colin's head. Then he started looking all funny. Wait. Was Colin --- blushing!? Cursa smirked. Now this was going to be interesting! Colin stammered like a first year meeting the first girl he'd ever seen in his life. Cursa chortled.
"Shutitcursa."
That only caused Cursa to snicker again. Clearly, Colin had neglected to mention one key detail about this little trip to France! He took note of the girl's name --- Emmi. Must be Emily. Cursa made several soft smooching noises. "Aww, Emmi!"
"Shutitcursa!"
Cursa flopped down on the sofa across from the Asian girl. He vaguely remembered her from the Potions Championship. She was in the stands cheering someone on. He never did catch her name. "Hey! I remember you from last fall. I'm Cursa! That wank's cousin --- the best cousin!"

Cottage Chaos Comfort
When Ava had planned ahead for the trip, she had been more than prepared to bring as many trunks as could be allowed. As long as she knew Colin would be within her cabin, she figured he would do the majority of the heavy lifting!
But after the events of S.N.O.G., she found herself merely bringing a few homely clothes, her wand and her broom. Everything a girl could ever need, minus accessories, changes of shoes, snacks… everything she could bring herself to pack in her haze of misery.
Ava hated feeling this way, but had no idea how to pull herself out of it. A lingering thought always remained on her mind, a whisper dancing through the growing shadows within her mind. She was a threat. It seemed to be undeniable now, wherever she went, chaos ensued. It no longer mattered whether she instigated the trouble or not, she always felt something would go so wrong.
She was grateful that they had chosen a comfy cabin, one where she hoped she could remain uninterrupted. More than that, she was surrounded by some of her closest friends, although she yearned for the comfort of Charlie. It was hard having been separated for so long, although she supposed she was half the problem.
She tugged the trunk through the door, keeping a few paces away from Colin and his exuberant cousin who had raced to the door. As she entered, she refused to let her gaze linger in any one spot for too long, instead preferring to keep moving until she found an open bed.
She noted a faint sound of rain in the distance, and though it was meant to be calming she wished she could escape into complete silence, the trip there having been adventure enough for her. Along with the sounds, there was an array of comfy seats, and a large dining table set in the center. On one wall was the scenes of a lush green forest, one she identified as out of country, although she couldn’t quite place the exacts of its origin. Parallel to the wall of windows, bunk beds lined the wall.
They were unfortunately placed in the same room as the rest of the cabin, which meant if she sought out peace, it would need to be alone, outside of the cabin.
“Mine!” she announced with forced enthusiasm, trying to seem as light hearted as she could without the obvious lack of grand entrance. She tucked her trunk nearby as she climbed to the top bunk in the bed closest to the exit.
As a kid, the top bunk had been the highest right of honor, one reserved for the most coolest kid, and the bottom had been the loser’s draw. Now, it seemed to be the best place to seek much needed isolation.
She would act normal, for all of their sakes. The time for pity remained in her own privacy, and for now a brave face was all that was required of her. Most of all, she didn’t want any of their pity, most especially not Emily’s. The image she had worked so tirelessly to create for herself was slowly crumbling into ruin.
She leaned against the wall, smirking down at the rest of the cabin as a swaggering ruler, the self-declared queen bee of the cabin. “Hopefully someone brought games, because this entire cabin screams ‘family game night’! Except I only know 3 of you…”
She mimed a careless shrug, although her eyes were marking the contents of the cabin. If it came down to it, she wasn’t sure who was her ‘pair’. Colin would be with his cousin, Emily with Scout, the first year girl with another student who was yet to arrive. That left her and Casey, although she noted that Scout seemed friendly with the Ilvermorny student as well. It was the constant thought of any true schoolgirl, although she felt anything but typical in the moment.

While Emily, Casey and Scout were discussing bunk bed assignments, another face entered the cabin. Emily was first to the living room where she spotted a girl, not much younger than her, enter with her suitcase following behind her.
"Hi!" Emily beamed, returning the girl's greeting with her own little wave. "Welcome to the abode! We were just discussing beds if you want to come through and pick on you like!"
She invited the girl to come in with her back into the bedroom. She saw that Casey had flopped over onto his front as he lay across his chosen bed, still looking exhausted after carrying two boulders worth of luggage.
"What did you even pack anyway?" she asked him. She followed Casey's finger to where he pointed at his bags. Emily walked over and unzipped one of them, only for the contents within to spill over her feet. As she hoked through his belongings, she heard Casey respond behind her.
"Books, comics, clothes, wand, unicycle, homework, balls--"
"Unicycle?!" Emily exclaimed. She opened up the other bag Casey brought with him, hoping he was joking. Nope. When she opened it up, there it was. The blue unicycle with its leather black saddle, the one Casey had shown her before in pictures from one of their many letters sent to each other. Emily glanced back and forth between it and him rapidly.
"Wh-- You-- What could you possibly need this for??" They would only be at Beauxbatons for a week!
She was met with Casey's nonchalant smirk. "It's a good time waster. Besides, it's gathered dust at the corner of my room for too long back at Ilvermorny," He replied to her.
Emily sighed and shook her head. "And all this time I was secretly thinking you packed the kitchen sink..."
The room was interrupted by a sudden series of bangs and thumps at the front door. Emily jumped in her spot. From outside heard shouting and howling. It didn't take her long realise who it was when she eventually recognised one of the voices.
"Is that--?!"
She went to the door again and immediately burst into giggles at the sight before her. Sure enough, she guessed right. Colin McCoire. There she found him in a tangled mess of broomsticks, luggage and mangled with another boy who bore a spiritual likeness to him, save for the flaming red hair.
"Colin!" Emily pranced over and hugged him, her ponytail flapping behind her. She had taken to enjoying his company as of late. Knowing that they would be in the same cabin together had Emily's spirits raised even higher. So far she was with all her good buddies. With Scout, Emily felt wanted and happy. With Casey, she felt heard and needed. With Colin, she felt safe and protected. "How magical it is to see you again, my friend!"
She saw the red spreading along Colin's cheeks. The boy with him made kissy gestures which immediately drew a strong reprimand from the lanky lad. Emily tilted her head sideways innocently. Now what was all that about there?
That didn't last long when Ava Winchect entered the cabin, with Emily already making her move to greet her other Slytherin pal. She called to her with sing-song excitement. "Ava~! Hi! Looks like we're roomies!"

Casey moaned when he tried to massage the tension out of his lower back. Those bags were not light in the slightest. He melted into the bed he picked out, twisting his frame along the mattress until a satisfying pop came from his back.
”Haah… That’s better.”
He offered a meaningful but tired welcome to the young girl that walked in with her suitcase, contributing to the bunk bed discussion by picking hers out like the other three had. He saw Emily walk back in, watching him curiously as he laid there, recovering.
"What did you even pack anyway?"
"Uhh… Lemme see…" He shifted a bit in his spot. He snapped his fingers a few times while pointed at his bags to recall what in God’s name he shoved into them last minute. "Books, comics, clothes, wand, unicycle, homework, balls--"
"Unicycle?!"
Casey blinked at her. He didn’t know why she was reacting at that like it was a bad thing. If anything, she should be more miffed at the fact that he had homework to do while he would be at Beauxbatons. That sounded more shocking and lamer to him than bringing his cherished unicycle.
Casey shrugged at her, a teasing smirk planted on his lips. ”What’re you havin’ a go at me for?” he asked calmly. "It's a good time waster. Besides, it's gathered dust at the corner of my room for too long back at Ilvermorny," Not to mention that Emily should’ve gathered by now that Casey had very unique and intriguing hobbies. She knew he was a unicyclist, so it made sense. Duh.
Then the cabin vibrated when something hard and fast hit against it, the sheer shock of whatever it was that startled the group sent Casey jumping over the side of his bed and landing hard on his side.
”The frick?!”
Emily had already gone back towards the door to check. Getting back on his feet, Casey hurried behind her. After the bullshit in Hogsmeade last season, he was seriously hoping this wasn’t a sign of things to come.
As soon as he entered the living room however, he saw Emily’s arms wrapped around a tall boy with wild hair. Ohh, so this was the infamous Colin that Emily told him about before. He wasn’t that much taller than Casey pictured him to be though. Alongside him was--
"Red?"
"Hey Casey! See you made it one piece this time!"
Casey laughed and saluted back to him. ”Damn right. One head injury was already enough!”
The McCoires came in and Red was already getting chatty with the girl that came in earlier.
“I'm Cursa! That wank's cousin --- the best cousin!"
”Cousin??” Casey repeated. He chuckled jokingly. Jesus, how many McCoires do we need in the world? I thought there was already a healthy abundance of them back at Ilvermorny. Now there’s more of them…

Cottage Chaos Comfort
february 12th, 2025 wednesdaywc: 400ish dhampir | terrible presencemeow meow meow meow meow meowThe calm aura that had settled around the cabin was soon disturbed not by the next participant, but the one after her. Scout had waved to the girl from her spot (aka her perching on one of the window sills to press her face almost against the glass). "Hey! Welcome! It's so nice in here, yeah. It's all wooshy-swooshy relaxing!"
No, it had instead been loudly interrupted by the slamming of the front door multiple times. Each time it slammed, Scout grimaced further and further. Of the names she had known, there was only one that she would so easily mix with that kind of loud chaos. It certainly wasn't her softhearted Emily or the moody Casey, nor Ava or the other two names she didn't recognize.
"Ugh, I was kind of hoping he'd bail." She muttered under her breath, groaning as she followed Emily and Casey into the living room. "Oh my god, there's more... does the McCoire lineage not end?" And here Scout was thinking she had a huge family- but there must've been a thousand McCoire's in the world... even acknowledging the idea as a thought was making Scout lose her marbles. That was probably even worse than a million pre-apology era Casey's! And she was not thrilled at that idea either.
Deciding to take one for her mental health, she chose to focus on what Ava had said. Scout was in the same boat as her, she only really recognized her three friends and the loud one. "Ava's kind of right, should we like... introduce ourselves or something?" Ooh and games, what kind of games would be fun to play with eight whole people? If only Scout had the hindsight to think of board games to bring. Her dad had plenty at home- albeit they were mostly muggle games, but Scout didn't mind. She had spent a good portion of her young life playing long-winded games of Monopoly with her parents and family.
She had always been a big fan of numbers, any kind of game that made her keep count was one she'd surely win. When her father realized he didn't have to actively try to let Scout win was when he realized she was going to end up way better than him at those games. It didn't help that her mother was just as competitive as Scout.
Long weekends back at home were usually spent in multiple-day long board game nights.
Maybe over summer break would Scout invite Emily and Casey over, and maybe even Zyair, too. That would be so fun! And there'd be no noisy Slytherin's to bother them!
