Slytherin vs Hufflepuff - Winter 2025
SPECTATOR THREAD FOR QUIDDITCH
SLYTHERIN vs HUFFLEPUFF - Winter 2025
Date: February 1st, 2025
Time: 10:00 am
Weather: Light rain, clouds, and cold temperatures
The weather never seemed to be ideal for quidditch in the winter time. Clouds covered the sky as rain drizzled out from above. Players would be battling increasing rain and cold temperatures as the match went on. Spectators would be seen holding umbrellas and clutching onto cups of hot drinks to stay warm.
It was the start of February and time to kick off the second quidditch games of the season. Slytherin was coming into this match as the favorites. They had beaten Ravenclaw in the Fall and had an older, experienced starting lineup. Hufflepuff on the other hand were coming off a loss and had changed their roster up a decent amount over the past few months. Perhaps the new changes in Hufflepuff could be a key to their success today or a factor to their downfall, time would tell.
The announcer would be accompanied by a grand bright pink umbrella as they hurried into their booth. Their voice would boom across the stadium shouting, "Welcome welcome to the first match of the Hogwarts Winter Quidditch Season! Today we are joined by the lovely teams of Hufflepuff and Slytherin! Lets cheer them on as they fly on out!" The two teams flew out into the stadium being led by their fierce and hopefully happy captains.
It was of note that most of the second strings were younger players, meaning it would be exciting to watch them play when a first string got taken out from either side. Hoping for a cleaner game than usual so they could go home fast, the announcer shouted out to the crowd again. "Thank you all for coming out today even in this horrible weather! I know our referee wants to see a perfectly clean game out of everyone so we can all have fun and then return to the comfort of our fireplaces. Good luck to both teams, don't forget to grip your broom tightly as this rain picks up! Now, let this match begin!"
This is a spectator thread for the Quidditch Game. 200 words is still the requirement for all threads. Please remember that you are not able to interface with the players on the pitch from a spectator thread.

Slytherin vs Hufflepuff - Winter 2025

𝕽uth sat in the spitting rain, a yellow poncho draped over her body and head, staring out into the as the competitors got into position. She knew no one. Perhaps she recognised a Hufflepuff here or there, even a few Slytherins from their unofficial quidditch match a few days or weeks back, but she didn't know anyone enough to offer a cheer or support. In reality Ruth had simply wanted to come and watch her house play against the other team in hopes that they'd win.
It was totally okay if the Hufflepuffs didn't, at least, in Ruth's perspective. She knew it'd be different for those competing, seeing as though the amount of practise put into the sessions is impeccable. Her eyes drifted to the announcer of the match as they began to thank everyone for coming under the dreadful weather. A smirk made its way onto her face and she wrapped herself tighter under the poncho. She wouldn't miss it for the world.
Okay, well, she might if it was something serious, but that was not the point-- Ruth's keen interest in quidditch was put on hold when she scored a position within the broomracing team, but that didn't stop the girl from going to the quidditch events to have a watch. Ruth rubbed her hands in excitement. Perhaps through this Ruth would better understand the mechanics behind the gaming systems and perhaps use some of the tricks in broom racing...if it’s not a foul, or anything.
Not that she doesn’t mind using fouls but—
Cheers resounded around her and the girl looked up to see that the game had very much begun. She leaned forward, eager to watch her house attempt a win. Oh, golly, she hope they won.
