Though down to one, the badgers were not going quietly into the night. Jake managed to land a knockback jinx on Rose in a final act of defiance even as he narrowly avoided the brunt of another knockback jinx cast by Kim. Unfortunately for Jake, he did not avoid all the force of the spell which managed to clip him. Curiously, Elsa cast no spell. Cassius had expected another fire-making spell from Gryffindor's apparent pyromaniac but nothing came. It would not matter, however, as this duel was at an end.
Cassius confirmed the time on a silver timepiece which he had withdrawn from an inner pocket of his robe. Raising a hand, he halted the duel. "That is time. Congratulations to Gryffindor. Please vacate the duelling stage to receive medical assistance."
With that another duel was in the books and Cassius went to record the win for Gryffindor in the official statistics.

It was the last round of the match and even though nothing could turn the tables for the badgers, Kim didn't let his guard down. After all, it was the right way to behave. He would give them the honor they deserved and give his all until the very end for them. Rose cast Flipendo on Jake but ended up missing her shot and although Elsa had been thinking about casting another spell, it seemed as if she'd found a bit of mercy in her soul and refrained from doing one. Kim's aim on his Flipendo was a little off and although he managed to nick Jake, the latter was able to avoid the brunt of the spell cast at him. Jake tried to attack Rose as his last spell and managed to successfully hit her, which was probably gratifying for him and then the duel was over. All three lions remained standing at the end, which was actually pretty impressive for once. Kim couldn't remember a time lately when that had happened and it gave him a little more hope.
For the future. Digging into the pockets of his robes, Kim produced a handful of chocolate frog boxes. He handed one to each of his teammates and then walked across the piste to hand three more to Jake. "Great duel, it was an honor to fight against you all. Please, take these chocolate frogs, they will restore your spent energy. I know the other two are knocked out at the moment but when they wake up they should have some too." Kim told him. He headed back over to his own side to celebrate his teammates' success. It really had been quite some time since they'd last won a duel and he'd been able to hang on there and help contribute to their awesome victory this time. It was also a bittersweet moment because Elsa had told them before that this would be her last duel as she was quitting the official club. But the duel couldn't have gone better. Elsa had gone out with a bang. Quitting with a victory was the best.
