Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 3
Nicky winced when her spells reached the target, however, this was the way of duelling matches and that was how it usually went when one was winning. She knew that her opponents would ultimately be fine so that gave her some peace of mind at least. But at the present moment, she had to focus on her own team and support them to the best of her ability. They were going to win this one for sure.

Despite Jake's efforts to heal Hades, the combined strength of Elsa and Rose's spells managed to knock the badger out. Cassius paused the duel, and Rose took advantage of those moments to catch her breath, taking in her team, as well as the remaining Hufflepuffs. She watched Hades being carried off the stage, hoping that he'd be okay, but trusting in the skills of the staff. Rose had seen just about as bad during duels, and had come out of the Hospital Wing as good as new, so she had full confidence that Hades would be okay. She turned her gaze back to the remaining opponents as the duel resumed.

Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 3
Considering the state of his thoughts, it was no surprise that Julian's first thought as spells flashed in his team's direction was that he was done for. It had been, all in all, an impressive feat of endurance to last this long.
He squeezed his eyes shut, casting his own spell and shifting his body to the side in a fruitless effort to protect himself, only to crack them open s few seconds later when nothing actually hit him. (Given none of the Gryffindors looked much too worse for wear, he suspected he hadn't managed a hit either.)
Unfortunately, Hades hadn't been so lucky and Julian watched somberly as he was carried off the platform towards the Hospital Wing. He could never decide which was worse, being the first to fall, which always felt like failing his team, or watching his teammates fall unconscious and the smidge of guilt and worry that came with having avoided that unpleasant fate.
Well, he was probably next.

Well, he had tried....He had TRIED to save his team, but the first one had fallen, and he was sure that Julian was going to be next. Jake was trying his best, but he didn't know what to do - why had nobody tried to hit HIM? At least then he could feel like he could do something to stop it - but when it was his team-mates hitting the ground one by one, the only thing he could do was try to heal them (But it was too hard when the spells kept coming!) or try to stop the casters, and he was TRYING that, but his aim was just off today. There wasn't anything he could do! He braced himself for what was about to happen, and tried his best to fight against the unsurmountable odds.

...And then there was one.
After a valiant effort and surviving every type of mishap possible, Julian finally fell in a blaze of glory. Literally. He was on fire. Such were the effects of the aptly named fire-making spell cast by Elsa at the Hufflepuff duellist.
"Pause!" Cassius shouted, again needing to pause the duel to allow the unconscious body to be removed from the duelling stage and doused with water. "Resume!"
Though the badgers had been reduced to one, they still had some bite. Jake, now the lone duellist for his side, managed to land a knockback jinx on Kim as he endeavored (successfully) to heal himself. It was not the only knockback jinx cast this round, however, as Rose cast one as well but it ultimately missed its mark.
The duel was nearing its conclusion and though the result seemed certain, perhaps there were some surprises for the duellists yet.

Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 3
And then there was one... Jake had known it was inevitable, but his partners falling one by one still felt awful. There was nobody left but him. And now, he had barely any time to try to swing this and turn it around. He knew there was no chance that he could win. The best he could do was go down fighting. He nodded at his opponents, they were impressive for sure. Now at least, they would be forced to turn their attention on him. He should be worried, but he felt kind of guilty watching his fellow Hufflepuffs drop while he faced nothing. At least now he'd not be the only one unscathed.
It was time for the end of this duel.

And another one down. Julian was taken out by Elsa’s fire, and Rose let out a breath. Julian had fought well, handling quite a lot throughout the duel before passing out. Now it was just Jake against the three Gryffindors. She nodded towards her two teammates, knowing the duel was reaching its end and they were almost certainly on the winning side.

Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 3
Nicky thought it was a bit sad to see the Hufflepuff duellists carried off one by one. She bore no ill will towards that house and those guys. It was a bit depressing. However, when only Jake was left standing she knew they'd won the match. There was no way he could turn things around all on his own.
