· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·Koko had never been so glad for prefect privilege as she was when she directed a group of younger students out of the moist Slytherin dungeons and to the empty Great Hall. Why some of the youths had remained in the common room, let alone the dormitories, was beyond her. Her shoes were already wet from the water, which she still didn't know the origin of, and she could only imagine that young children attempting to fight a leak underneath a lake was a bad idea.
They needed to get out of there, first of all. And then, after that, once they weren't actively making things worse, it would be more than prudent to alert a professor.
After leading Alyss and hopefully others to the Great Hall, her steps far less wobbly than she had worried they would be, Koko directed the students to a table. 'Wait here and don't get into trouble. If your shoes or socks are wet, you can take them off and Vale or I can try to dry them..' She swallowed. 'I'm going to try to find a professor to deal with the situation downstairs. Vale, can you keep an eye on them?'
Perhaps she should have called the racing captain Miss Ashwood or even Captain Ashwood, but the notion initially eluded her. Propriety did not matter when the basement was flooding. No matter what Vale said, Koko would slip off her heels and hurry to the corridors just outside the Great Hall, muttering a 'Lumos,' as she tried to decide which way to go. Back to the basements would give them two options, but it was also the direction of danger, and old habits, for Koko, did not die. That was not an option.
She would wait momentarily before she decided.· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·

*Yeseong, having followed down after some private investigating, for whatever reason it was, looked around, surprised as he was still a bit wet from what happened, slipping of his shoes and socks, putting them aside as he remained still.**He questioned, peacefully playing with the rim of his glasses as well as once more the plush he had, having been waiting to give to @Lex Kervick yet still. He calmly looked at the other students now as he waited for any kind of response, remaining in spot playing with whatever he had near. Since his clothes had gotten wet, due to unfortunate falling in the common room, he had changed into simple sweatpants, a white short-sleeve, and his new heart vest. With that said, he had taken the vest off, tying it over his shoulders like usual due to the heat he felt from the sudden temperature change of the common room and the Great Hall. He could hear some footsteps from inside the Great Hall."How in the world did that even happen?"*He thought, ignoring the pattering of feet as he continued to simply fidget with the plush, waiting for a reply to the question he had asked, watching as @Koko Riddle went off.*"Probably just some other students."

The march to the Great Hall from the dungeons had been almost as disastrous as the situation that had led them to such an exodus. Shoes squeaked with every step as water squished in their socks as they walked. Claire hadn't seen the source of the impromptu evacuation, beyond the presence of a very concerning amount of water in the common room, sourced from the direction of the boys' dorms.
Of course it would come from the boys' dorms.
She'd been trying her hardest to ignore the celebration in the common room. She was in full support of celebrating victories, and the broom racing team had done quite well, but the sight of students hardly older than Claire passing pipes around and drinking who knew what had driven Claire to withdraw back into her own dorm and try to stay out of trouble.
That had gone well until the panicked noises had come from the Common Room. Spells could be heard, as the braver students attempted to stifle the flow of the water that assaulted the snakes. Claire, after briefly freezing up in the chaos, had needed no convincing to simply shut up and follow Prefect @Koko Riddle out of the Common Room, to safety.
She sat with what other students had decided to flee and sat at the instructed table, trying to hold back a mix between a yawn, a shiver, and a trembling breath.
She obediently pulled her shoes and socks off, deciding that embarrassment was less important than keeping her digits. She pulled her warm, fluffy nightgown tighter around her blue pajama-glad form and glanced around at the other students who'd come along.
One of the boys in her year was questioning the events, so she turned to face @Yeseong Lee and shrugged.
"You saw what the others were getting up to. It was bound to go wrong," she said, a tinge of annoyance in her tone at having been pulled from a restful night of attending to her studies in the dormitory.

*He said, knowing how it was already a disaster when seeing the pipes at the party and that, so he didn't disagree with @Claire Lewis's response. This put him back into his state of pondering on who thought it was a good idea to give out pipes at the party and why, as well as the thought of possibly having to explain this new situation of the lake water pouring in their common room to other house students that come by, especially stalling off the ones they knew they shouldn't tell about this situation, for whatever reason it may be.... Yeseong basically felt himself on duty after @Koko Riddle had left to find some assistance, staring at the opening of the door, like doing so would spawn a horde of different house members or something. All the while, he remained with the now occasional plush squishmellow in his hands, squeezing the soft, 5in cinnamon roll stuffie every so often while almost burning the air with how he was staring. People could think the boy was staring at a nearby portrait in a staring contest from how focused he was. He really took this seriously as he sat there, practically zoning off as he stared."Ok, fair. That's true."

OOC: Wait, are the other houses actually allowed to comment, since we did move this to the Great Hall? And just if they can, are we explaining the situation, or.....?WC:207/200

AEIOUSAPrat trailed behind Koko through the slytherin dorms. She had taken charge of the situation, as she herded the confused and panicked younger students away from the water that now began making it's way to the common room, it wasn't surprisingly authoritative for a prefect, this was pretty much their work.
The water squished unpleasantly under his shoes with each step he took, a reminder of their precarious situation. It wasn't often that you'd find students attempting to abandon the Slytherin common room so hastily, and certainly not for something as mundane as water leaks. His mind had plenty questions: Where was the water coming from? Why hadn't someone caught it sooner? Was this a prank?
He watched as some students scattered, seeking refuge and rest on the benches and trying to wring out their soaked clothes. Prat knew the smarter choice was to join them, but his curiosity was piqued. He lingered by the entrance, glancing back at the path they had taken, wondering if he should go back and see the source of the water along with whoever stayed back. But as he observed for a few more moments, soon realizing that now was not the time for adventuring. He had taken the best course of action and now; it was time to leave it to the adults.

Great, Vale was in charge of a bunch of drenched younger years. She carried her wet heels in one hand, shivering slightly from the chill created. Fortunately, nothing compared to a winter's version of a flowing, dense waterfall on a broom racing track.
Vale dropped her heels to the solid ground to wring out her dreadlocks of water. Ugh, there was always something attempting to ruin her hair in some form. She moved back to look at the younger years, on instinct saluting her prefect running away to wherever.
She let a sigh escape, moving her hands to her hips. "Well, how is everyone's time partying so far?" It was more of a sarcastic remark to break an awkward silence and questions simply left in the air. "Okay, spill the beans. Which one of you had some bad food today? Come on, flobberworm fritter is not that bad. People are quite picky about their food." Vale said, as if she wasn't known to taste test any mysterious thing in the pursuit of supposed 'knowledge.'
"Nevermind all that. How about you lot take to helping your newly assigned leader in finding cockroaches along here? All this commotion surely stirred them up. Seriously, my pet spider doesn't have a control valve on her. She might have to end up eating one of you, at this rate, if she doesn't get her required fill." Poor Vale, unable to even give out her typical greeting and blessings for her fellow Slytherins to kill all their enemies slowly and even painfully.
Used to simply commanding at least four other people as a captain, now she seems to have to find a way to command a bunch more that weren't even used to being commanded. She was already on her knees, scorching the floor for the indestructible species of insect. Who knows, maybe this would be enough to send a distracting message.Action: Searching the floor for cockroaches, open to interaction.

Sereia's Calming Presence is in effect
Sereia's Saturday had gone like this: wake up, go for a run by the lake, shower, grade assignments from the week's classes, and read a few books she had borrowed from the library. Most of them were personal reading and maybe two texts on a few divination practices she intended to revise. Having finished one of her novels, Sereia tucked it under her arm and made the trip from the North Tower down to the ground floor. Mateo would likely not be at his desk at this time, but she wasn't exhausted enough to sleep; a walk down the stairs and back up would likely do the trick.
What Sereia had not expected, however, was a group of students convening at the Great Hall at this hour. What time was curfew again? Eight p.m.? The only students who would still be out at this hour would be prefects patrolling. She wasn't aware of any late night activity scheduled this late, either.
A small ball of light bathed the hallway in a cool glow. Sereia could finally see the trails of water on the floor leading into the Great Hall. She frowned. The lake had frozen over at this point in the year; swimming anywhere was practically impossible. So, just what exactly...?
She approached the light and took a second to recall the name of the face in front of her. "Miss Riddle? What's happening here?"

· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·Koko waited outside the Great Hall, arms crossed over her chest as if that would protect her from the cold. She regretted that she had not braved the creeping water and headed into the dorms if only to acquire a coat. She glanced back towards the Slytherin dungeons, but the thought of traversing the corridors alone, dressed only in a sleeveless black dress, barefoot, was hardly appealing. Just the thought and the view of the cold, dark stone corridor made her shiver.
She began to pace. One foot pressing against cold stone, then the next, then the next, until she turned around and started the cycle again. A few times, she poked her head into the Great Hall to ensure Vale was keeping control of the children; she was pleased to see that nothing too horrible had happened yet. She heard something about flobberworm fritter and decided it was better to leave Vale and the children to it.
And then, footsteps. Koko's pacing halted. If it were a student, she would have given them mercy and perhaps guided them back to wherever they were going, seizing the opportunity to trek through the cold halls with someone without seeming weak. And then she would get a professor.
But it seemed she would not have to seek assistance; someone capable would find her. Koko smiled warmly at Professor Clairmont; an actual, proper adult was a joyous sight to see. She tried to seem as calm as possible as she gave an attempt at an explanation. 'There's rather a lot of water in the dorms and the common room at the moment. Apparently someone lost a fight with a toilet. I know nothing about how to fix a toilet, or about toilet mechanics, but there's a lot of water, like...' She had to pause for a few seconds to formulate a way to explain the depth of the water. She moved her hands to try to gesture that it was quickly-rising and deep, but eventually she gave up and once again crossed her arms over her chest, running her hands up and down her upper arms to try to provide some semblance of warmth.
'...I don't really think that is normal for a toilet. It also smelled weird, like lavender. Again, not normal. I didn't enjoy being wet, and I didn't think these younger kids would, either. Some others stayed downstairs to... I don't know, try to fix the toilets? But I didn't think we could do any better than an adult.' She smiled up at Sereia, hoping that the Divination professor would take mercy upon the poor Slytherins' souls. 'I can take you down to the dungeons and show you the issue, if you'd like. I'd have to go grab my shoes first, though; they're soaked from the water, but I don't want to go in there barefoot.' She gestured towards where she had left them inside the common room.· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·

She had done what she could to help with the situation, but the the accident was beyond her (or in her opinion, any other student's) control. Therefore, partly because a part of her didn't wish to get drowned in toilet water, party because she was naturally a very obedient person, she went out of the common room and followed the prefect to the Great Hall.
Elisa had never ventured out this late in Hogwarts castle. The light from the prefect's wand cast long shadows through the corridors, and the young girl couldn't help but feel a little scared. "Lumos!" she whispered, lighting her own wand. Clutching it tightly in her hand made her feel a little more reassured, though she knew the magic she had learnt was nowhere near enough if anything was to happen. Fortunately, it appeared that whoever or whatever had caused the flood didn't search any more trouble with the evacuating group of students - at least for now. They arrived upon the big oak doors of the Great Hall, footsteps echoing through the empty corridors.
Under the candles of the Great Hall, Elisa let go of the tension in her body. It was fine, they were safe, a professor would be coming. She whispered, "Nox!" and the light on the tip of her wand disappeared. She looked around the candlelit Great Hall. It was so strange that nobody was in here apart from them - the Hogwarts dining room was never empty - of course, except during the night. It was upon this thought that Elisa realised how late it must have been, and with that a wave of tiredness swarmed over her. She sat down on the bench, and watched the other students. Some were talking, Vale was searching the floor for something.
The sight of the upperclassman made the corners of Elisa's lips tilt up slightly. Vale's always so queer and strange, but also so... fascinating Elisa thought, thinking about the S.P.E.W meeting a few months ago.⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤

Aftermath
January 11th, 2025 Slytherin Common Room“English” “Gaelic”
Water was not an uncommon occurrence, coming in the forms of rainfall, lakes, ponds, and streams. However, water became very uncomfortable when it soaked your shoes and socks during a party and came from a toilet. Thus, Alyss left the common room with Koko, Vale, and a group of other younger students.
The entire castle seemed so much spookier at night, with every light casting long shadows along the walls. Every step seemed louder than Alyss’ usual trot during the daylight, and she didn’t like it. Although she was totally up for a new adventure, tromping through the castle in wet shoes, socks, and bottom of pant legs was not what she found to be the first thing she wanted to do.
Soon, Koko was being responsible and looking for a professor, Vale was… searching for cockroaches for her pet spider? And the rest of them were stripping off their shoes and socks. Alyss soon joined them, not wanting to walk around in soaked through socks and shoes. Upon wringing her socks out a couple times, she left them to dry and walked up to Vale. Vale was one of the Captains of the racing team, their win having been the reason for the party at all.
“I’m sorry that this is the way your celebratory party turned out.” She offered, sending a small smile her way. “What’s your pet spiders name?” Alyss asked her in a questioning tone, whilst scanning the corners for cockroaches that Vale’s spider might like. “I have a cat named Milo, not actually sure where he is right now, but definitely not in the common room, that’s for sure.” She joked, getting momentarily distracted, thinking of her cat. Hopefully he was okay— Hopefully they would all be okay after this.
