Blue in English, Red in KoreanIt would be a lie to say that Eun-ji wasn’t exhausted. Despite deciding not to take any O.W.Ls, she did not give up on her studies. She still kept working hard and holding onto her straight “O”s. The need to do well, to be perfect, was ingrained into her to the point, where the Ravenclaw herself felt wrong giving her studies any less attention. That being the case, adding intense practice sessions into her schedule wasn’t easy. She always took time to practice ballet at Hogwarts even in her previous years, when she was convinced her dream turned to dust but now? Now that she was trying to raise it from ashes, it was like turning on an invisible switch in her head and she danced even more. No matter the hour, no matter how her muscles screamed at her to rest, she would not. She even got hurt couple of times but that was not unusual for this particular art form so Eun-ji wasn’t too concerned about it.
Nevertheless, as hard and as tiring as it was, it also gave her energy and motivation to move forward. It was a strange oxymoron but the ballerina always found peace and happiness in ballet. She was also steadily improving her skills, which were already pretty impressive but to her, it wasn’t enough. She strived for perfection. If she was to attend WADA, she wanted to apply for the school with head held high and achieve great things. She danced every day and she danced alone but it did not bother her. The witch wasn’t really eager to socialize as of late and she had no friends that shared her passion anyway. Lucia danced of course and she was good at it but her skills lied in different genres.
Today was no different and Eun-ji found herself in the ballroom again. For once, she was lucky enough to have the room all for herself, which seldom happened in the afternoons. Early mornings and late evening hours were better for this but she couldn’t afford to practice only during those odd times. In the past, she would have left if others came in but this year, she didn’t care. Only when the room started to get too crowded, would the witch take her things and move to the room of requirement instead. This time, it seemed like she didn’t need to worry though. Perhaps it was because the weather was particularly nice that day and other students decided to spend their free time outside rather than coped in. Whatever the reason was, she was grateful for it. This way, she could have her dancing accompanied by music and practice actual pieces like today. Right now, it was the Kitri Variation from Don Quixote. It wasn’t the most difficult choreography out there but it was fun and easy to get lost in, which she definitely did. Enough not to notice any other people coming in.

Eugenia didn’t wander around aimlessly too much. She usually had a goal in mind when she went somewhere. But for some reason today, she just didn’t. It seemed tiring to just walk around until an opportunity to do something popped up. But at that moment she was just so goddamn bored. But she was exhausted too, tired of just sitting and looking at her dorm’s enchanting, albeit boring after looking at it for like, what, half an hour straight? And she didn’t want to go outside; there were many people and she didn’t want to mingle with large crowds. Sometimes, she just preferred solitude.
So the girl began to walk around the castle alone. For some reason, she had taken a detour towards the ballroom. She didn’t go there often. But okay. A little trying something new isn’t too bad mates. So she curiously walked over when she heard some tapping on the floor. And there was a beautiful looking girl dancing quite gracefully. She recognised it as ballet, especially because of the pointe shoes the girl wore. She watched as she danced and at one point, the girl attempted a developpé, just as the other did. Of course, the technique was non existent, but her leg went up quite a bit; she was naturally flexible.
Then, she continued watching the girl do the variation, doing an arabesque as she did too. It was nice too, to her, but to any dancer it would seem like a true amateur move. Nevertheless, she was enthralled by the dance. When the girl finished, Eugenia smiled and looked at her. And she mused. hi there! Can you teach me how to dance please… Your dance was beautiful!

Blue in English, Red in KoreanToo immersed in the music and the choreography, Eun-ji really didn’t notice the young girl entering the ballroom and lingering around to watch her. She didn’t notice her trying to copy some of the moves either, which was fortunate for the Hufflepuff otherwise she might have gotten a scolding. You did not try these things without stretching first and the Ravenclaw would tell her as much.
After few more moments, the last tones of the music descended into silence, allowing Eun-ji to stop and take a deep breath. As she turned around to change the song, a young girl entered her vision, making her pause momentarily. “Hi there! Can you teach me how to dance please… Your dance was beautiful!” The Ravenclaw considered her words carefully. She was not necessarily eager to socialize and her expression most likely reflected those feelings but at the same time, she could never say no to anybody that has shown interest in ballet.
“Thank you.” She accepted the compliment gratefully as she surveyed the girl once more. Eun-ji was already teaching kids for the past two summers so it wouldn’t be a bother to show her the ropes and the younger were generally more flexible and fast learners. The only problem with these kind of pupils tended to be their lack of commitment and concentration. “Are you sure you want to learn? Ballet is tough and it would take some time before you can actually dance to a song like this. Technique comes first and it can be boring at times.” Eun-ji warned her unexpected spectator. She always liked to make sure, whomever took interest in ballet knew what they were getting into. It may have looked beautiful but behind the scenes, it was hard work, blood and sweat. Sure, if you didn’t want to do it competitively then it wouldn’t be such a grind but still, it was anything but easy.

Eugenia looked at the older girl and tilted her head in an inquisitive way ever so slightly. She did look worn out and tired, but a tinge of interest was visible. Eugenia kept looking at her as she answered, and accepted her compliment. The question that came after it wasn’t really unexpected though.
Well, didn’t everything seem tough? Wasn’t everything tough really? This had been the same question her mother had asked her back when she had announced she wanted to learn the violin. As she had put it, it was difficult, but not impossible. It would take time until she reached the very complicated and sophisticated melodies, those that attracted praise from the crowd.
But since she had first stated her interest, Eugenia had always pushed through. And quite frankly, her first violin lessons had been those of technique, the “boring ones” as the older student had told her. But really, she knew what she was doing. She had made her choice. She wanted to learn the grace that came with ballet. Not just the moves. She was ready to shed blood, sweat and tears over moves and songs and everything in between. She was no person who gave up.
So after a moment of two of consideration, the young Greek replied. “I’m very sure honestly. You know, it’s a similar thing with the violin, which I’ve been doing for years. And ballet is something I’ve been wanting to do for years. So I’ll go through everything. I don’t really mind the boring parts.” She knew how much work would be put into this. And her perfectionistic side would definitely make sure to follow all the instructions and do things as best as she could even if it took time.
A lot of time. Really, at this point she had nothing to lose with ballet. But infinite more possibilities to win vast amounts of things.

Blue in English, Red in KoreanEun-ji listened to the younger girl’s reply attentively yet wasn’t quite sure what to make of it. She understood her reasoning, but it was not exactly what she meant by ballet being tough. “I did not mean that it’s difficult to master. Well, it is...but like you said, in that regard, every new skill is.” It was still good that she was aware of that though. thinking learning would be easy definitely wouldn't help her. “I meant that it is quite taxing on the body. I know that the violin strings are rough on your skin and it can also be painful. However, if I understand correctly, once you build calluses from playing, you can begin practicing daily without pain. That is not the case with ballet. It continues to be a painful sport even after years of training. In fact, I'd say it gets progressively worse.”
Despite her words, Eun-ji didn’t actually want to discourage the girl, but she needed her to have all the information before committing. “You do seem to have the determination though; I’ll give you that.” If she stuck with playing violin for ten years, she must have been someone that did not give up easily. Well, it’s not as if I’m going to teach her en pointe so she should be alright. The ballerina, decided to approach the matter with a more positive outlook for once. Afterall, she did enjoy teaching and showing others the beauty of the ballet. “Then again, I guess there is no harm in trying. If you are learning just for fun, it’s okay to quit should you find it too hard.” She relented eventually.
“I’m Eun-ji by the way. What’s your name?” While the witch wasn't exactly interested in building new friendships, if she was going to teach the girl, it was only natural they should at least know each other’s names. “Oh also…I will not always coddle you, are you okay with that?” Eun-ji wasn’t a believer in overly strict supervision but she wasn’t someone scared of pointing out her students’ mistakes either. You got a compliment for job well done and you’d be corrected when you were doing something incorrectly no matter the age. Such was her teaching style and she wasn't planning on doing it any other way.

The older girl spoke and Eugenia studied her as well as she could, hearing quietly. Well, the truth was that she hadn’t really meant that, but nevermind. I didn’t really mean that. I guess, I know that ballet is taxing on your body. But in my opinion, so is violin for your mind; remembering every single move and symphony and hearing all the mistakes is hard too. But ballet is a metaphorical killer for the body…
She listened on and slightly bowed her head as her determination was acknowledged. Eugenia gave a small smile. Nice to meet you. I’m Eugenia. She was glad the ballerina had actually accepted her request. There were many who would detest having to teach a total beginner, who could perhaps do half the moves wrong.
If Eun-ji actually wanted this, then game was on. Oh. Why would I? I’m supposed to learn something, if you don’t point out my mistakes then how will I know I’m doing something incorrectly? I’m not used to people coddling me either way. Eugenia jumped two times, trying to release all the excitement bundled up inside her body. This was a dream come true.
And the fact that this happened inside of Hogwarts made it even more awesome and magical. Eugie turned to her teacher and asked her. So, what do you want me to start with?
