Now's the time to hide and seek
15th November, 10.20 end of the first morning class
Today was a nice day, albeit a bit cold due to the time of a year but a beautiful day nonetheless. The greyish sky was void of all clouds, the bright sun blurred behind the vail of the everpresnt mist that was not quite thick enough to affect ones vision, especially on close range, painting the world in a dreamy atmosphere.
All and all, the day or the flying lesson just taking place wasn't by any means a special one.Except for the young ravenclaw that raised through the sky with braided hair, a scarf swishing behind her and gloved hands clutching onto her broom, for whom this might have been one of the most important days since arriving at Hogwarts. Landing on the ground, Sabrina didn't even stumble, lifting the goggles off her eyes to relocate them just above her hairline, pushing her fringe back and holding it up with it. Her breath coming out in white puffs, she observed as her classmates landed around her, some with less grace than other, forming into a line, as per usual at the end of the class. Pushing her scarf up to cover her mouth and nose, she herself joined in, turning her broom in her hand to lean it against her shoulder, bristle up.
Nari's last letter arrived this morning at breakfast. It was short, but sweet, full of nervous but excited energy that Sabrina could relate to. She didn't have the time to reply, not that there was much to reply to, really. Nari had asked if Sabrina was ready which - she didn't have an aswer to. She wasn't dreading the meeting, was very much looking forward to it, but was she ready? Is there a way to be ready for something like this?
Thankfully, they were facing the castle, meaning that if Nari was to show up now, Sabrina should be able to see her. She tried to remain casual, chattering away with a girl next to her, making sure as to not look around too much. It was only when the professor called out to them that she averted her gaze, focusing on the adult. She used the swivel of her head to quickly and subtly scan the surrounding area.

XXXEonaria was cold. Very, very cold. Yes, she had brought her winter cloak with her, and was currently bundled up in it, but the chilly air still penetrated her bones. At least she wasn't up there flying today. It would be even worse with the wind brushing past her face.
XXXFor once, she had taken a detour to the Great Hall to grab a stack of plain toast before picking a spot hidden among the rocks by the Great Lake to sit before the first block started. Eonaria was currently squished between two rocks and was fairly sure that she would have difficulty removing herself due to how long she'd been sitting there. Unfortunately, this also limited her movement, but at least she could see the brooms zooming around in the sky... Eonaria squinted harder.
XXXThere were multiple girls with brown hair, and it's not like she could see eye colors from down here. She would have to wait until they landed. As the class flew down the the ground, she could hear faint instructions from the professor. But just then, one of the girl turned in her direction, and Eonaria was so sure they just made eye contact. She ducked her head, her breath speeding up. Was that Brie or just someone random? She wasn't sure.

Now's the time to hide and seek
Biting into the inner side of her cheeks, Sabrina didn't let her gaze wonder despite not seeing anyone standing by the school. She straightened, cleaning her throat, adjusting her grip on the broomstick as she felt the nervousness taking root within her stomach, slowly crawling it's way up her tightening throat. Did Nari decide not to come? Did Sabrina just not notice her? Has she already been found by the other girl? Was it over? Has she lost, has she-
Distracted by her inner questionnaire she didn't even notice her eyes drifting down to the lake and- all her swirling thoughts came to a halt, her shoulders slumping as she felt the corners of her lips tug up. Ducking her head to further hide it under her scarf, holding it up to cover her growing grin, she focused back on the professor with ease this time, because there at the lake, behind a big rock, was hiding a small Griffindor girl with a green streak in her hair. Nari didn't meet her eyes, instead locking them with the girl standing just a few people to Sabrina's right, visibly startled by the possibility of it being her quill pal, retrieveing back into her hiding spot.
But even tho spotting her only through a quick glance, Sabrina got a good look and was in no doubt that she'd recognize the girl - Nari - later. As they walked towards the changing rooms, after the professor had dismissed them, she didn't look back at the lake, a broad smile on her face as she casually chattered with her classmates. Gotcha
She was the first to change, scurrying out of the small space and to the entrance to the courtyard, the sense of excitement building up within her once more. She leaned back against the column next to the entrance, ankles crossed and arms folded over her chest. From her position, she could see anyone coming into the castle without being seen by them, unless they were to look back as they walked through which- yeah, slim chance. Grin still plastered over her lips, she waited for the young Gryffindor.

XXXThe students began filing back into the school, the wind ruffling the grass of the now-empty grounds. Eonaria stared at the entrance, now devoid of people, confused. So, did Brie not see me? Was that not Brie? Maybe she saw me at breakfast, for the one minute I stayed there- but how come she didn't confront me after class...? Puzzled, Eonaria squirmed her way out of the precarious position between the rocks and began to head back inside as well, shivering a bit and tugging her cloak tighter around her.
XXXOf course, she could also be waiting for me, setting a trap to catch me... She laughed slightly. Why am I treating this so seriously? Of course, I want to win, but it's not like she'll arrest me if she catches me first... The stone beneath her shoes tapped lightly, echoing slightly. For once, the sound of her own footsteps sounded rhythmic and somewhat musical instead of repetitively annoying. But once Eonaria turned the corner, she froze.
XXXThere, standing in front of her at the edge of the courtyard, was a grinning, Ravenclaw girl with brown hair and blue-grey eyes. Eonaria stood there for a moment before smiling and giving her a thumbs up. "Hi!" Holy magnolias, I sound way too cheerful about this. "I guess you've won, huh? Good game." She nodded solemnly, a silly grin on her face. "Was it cold up in the air?"

Now's the time to hide and seek
Sabrina's own smile widened the moment she layed eyes upon the young Griffindor, standing just a few feet in front of her. Pushing herself of the wall, she readjusted the bag strap on her shoulder, making her way to her friend, hand stretched out in an offer for a hanshake. She always introduced herself with a handshake, and even tho she technically knew Nari, it felt appropriate to do so now, too.
"Hi! Guess so, it was a close call, tho," she greeted back, her cheeks almost aching with how much she was beaming at the other girl. She had never known someone before meeting them - although she supposed that the feeling wasn't as rare, with online friends and all - so this was a totally new experience for her.
"Freezing. If it weren't for my scarf and goggles, my face would have looked like a whipped tomatoe now," she laughted, absentmindedly running her fingers over her flushed, slightly wind battered cheeks, avare of the reddened lines around her eyes where the rims of her goggles pressed against just mere minutes ago.
"Oh Merlin, I can't believe you're actually here. Like - you are real," she shook her head, as if not quite believing her eyes," not gonna lie, a part of me still can't believe that you are an actual person and not just ink words on a parchment."

XXXEonaria happily took Brie's hand, squeezing in excitement before finishing it properly. Once she let go, she felt like she was just sparkling in enthusiasm and couldn't stop bouncing on her toes. Squeeee!! I finally get to meet Brie!! Eonaria laughed at Brie's comment.
XXX"If I were up there, no amount of protection would prevent me from feeling cold! Except maybe a suit of armor made of lava... but I'm not getting anywhere close to one of those, if they exist!" Brie expressed her disbelief at finally meeting her, eliciting another giggle. "Yep, totally real! Alive and existing!" Eonaria tugged her hands from the safety of her cloak, stretching and wiggling out her fingers. "Oof, I've been turned into a block of ice!" She lamented dramatically. "I'm really glad I don't have flying class today. Too cold!"
XXXEonaria brushed her hair out of her face and discovered they were practically the temperature of icicles. Yikes! She swept it over her back, putting her hands on her hips. "So...! Eaten breakfast yet? I had, like, a stack of toast. Crunchy at the edges." She nodded approvingly. "Actually..." Eonaria reached into one of the inner pockets of her cloak and withdrew a slightly smushed slice of toast. "Whoops. I still have one, I guess." She grinned.

Now's the time to hide and seek
Her gaze followed Nari's wiggling fingers, drawing a laught out of her.
"I've never heared of a lava armor before, but my coat has a warming spell on it if, you'd like to borrow it" she offered, tugging at the lapel of the coat she was wearing.
"Never met a sentient block of ice before" she teased, banging her elbow into Nari's, mostly for the contact itself. She had an unexplainable need to touch her friend, confirm that she is, infact, real. She started walking beside the girl, deciding they could get at least a bit further away from the wind blowing from the outside through the openspaced corridors around the courtyard entrance.
"Ugh, don't talk about food" she groaned, squeezing her eyes shut and throwing her head back for dramatic effect, heels of her palms digging into her closed eyes, making her see fireworks behind her eyelids.
"I've had breakfast - scrambled eggs - but I am ravenous after the flying and there is still an hour of charms standing between me and lunch!" She let out and exasperated sigh, letting her head loll to a side, palms sliding down her face as she did so, stopping at her cheeks for a while before dropping down.
Her brows shot up as Nari pulled out the toast. Tearing her eyes away from it, she looked up at the other girl. If she knew how to, she'd be attempting puppy eyes right now.
"Are you planning on eating that?"

XXX"Ah, no thank you!" Eonaria smiled, ducking her head slightly. "I was only making a comment, I didn't actually require a solution. I appreciate it, though!" Then she laughed at Brie's comment about sentient blocks of ice. "Greetings, m'lady. Might I show you around our lovely frozen palace?" Eonaria took on an accent, pretending to be an ice block butler and bowing theatrically. "We also offer a wide variety of samples of our bestselling ice cream flavors: spring water, lake water, purified water, ultra water, dew, and melted snow. Care to try?"
XXXShe grinned, nudging Brie back. It just felt so good to keep checking that the other girl was very much next to her and not some obscure person on the other side of the country- not that she was, in the first place, but quill pals didn't make for the best of connections... Brie lit up when she saw the piece of leftover toast Eonaria held up, excitedly asking if she was going to eat it. "Uh-" She lowered the slice of toast.
XXX"I mean, no, but are you sure you want to eat this? It's cold by now and probably a bit stale, too. Unless you really, really want it... but you could check if there's still food in the Great Hall, you know? Or ask the kitchens." Eonaria also had an inkling suspicion that a bit of lake water might have infused its way into the bread...

Now's the time to hide and seek
Playing into Nari's butler roleplay, Sabrina raised her chin, holding her hand up as if checking her nails and pursing her lips slightly, smacking them before she replied.
"A stroll around the estate would be dazzling." she said, doing her best impression of an aristocratic middle-aged lady - which in her mind appearently included an exaggerated high-pitched upper-class accent. "And you may feed those mouth-watering, finger-licking samples into my dainty lips with a golden spoon" she added, opening her mouth with an 'aaa', promptly shutting it again a few second later, laughting at her own ridiculousness.
Moving on- her gaze slipped down to the toast once more, which was Nari now lowering, looking hesitant. She vehemently began to shake her head even when her friend began to describe the cons of consuming said toast.
"Oh I really want to. They only leave the food there for the duration of the meal time, and I don't think we are allowed in the kitchens - to be honest, I am not really sure where they are" she explained, "Cold and stale are my favorite, anyway" she winked, snatching the toast from Nari. It was a bit wet and - sure enough - cold, but right now to Sabrina, the only importnat thing about it was that it fell under the catagory of eatable. Besides, the one dealing with the conciquences of her actions would be the-future-Sabrina, and the-present-Sabrina was fairly positive that she would forgive her.

XXXEonaria giggled as Brie posed pretentiously, turning her nose up. "What??" She laughed, nearly toppling over from how ridiculous it was. "I'm-" Eonaria stifled her giggles, straightening back up. "My sincerest apologies, my lady, I am afraid I do not have any golden spoons, only diamond ones forged from the deepest depths of the earth. Will those suffice?"
XXXThen Brie swiped the somewhat damp toast directly from her hands, causing her to gasp in outrage. "How- how dare you! That is a piece of my family's heritage, and I shall not tolerate attempts at thievery!" Eonaria cracked a joke, but internally she was a bit worried that it wouldn't taste good anymore. "Wait- jokes aside, are you sure you don't want a new piece? The Great Hall isn't that far away, and I don't think lake water is the best flavor of bread. And Merlin forbid if you get sick!" Then she paused.
XXX"Wait, can you get sick from it...? Yeah, the microbes in the water, and- and- it might be contaminated with, umm, grindylow... waste. No dirty toast for you!" Eonaria swiped the slice of bread back, tossing it in a random garbage bin at the end of the corridor. "There! Now, let's get you some better bread. You should've eaten more breakfast! On second thought, maybe I should just start carrying around food for whenever we get peckish." She grinned. I mean, hopefully she doesn't get mad at me for throwing away potential breakfast... But come on, that barely counted as edible!
