"You're welcome," Haven replied back. "I think. I hope. I don't really know what I'm doing. I can't see," she admitted, before jumping as she felt a pop. "Ow! What the fudge nuggets!" she cursed. "I know this is supposed to be a duel but that just feels mean. Does this count as bullying? Can I submit a formal complaint? 20 points from Ravenclaw?" She wanted to rub her eyes to get the ouch out, but nooo, she was in a duel, and there was no stopping for water breaks! She could really use one though, and she wouldn't mind some orange slices and a capri sun...

This new bout of spells would leave the legitimen accusations worn thin. There would not be nearly as many similarities this round as the last.

A vortex caught Damion would make to dodge any doom headed his way. Lea would do her best to cook up a walloping flipendo while Haven tried to soothe Lea’s pain. Aida would try and add to it with a confringo. Lindsey and Cassius would both concoct a cracker jinx for the other side to try on.

Lea’s flipendo would veer off course from her intended target of Damion. And while Lindsey’s cracker jinx wouldn’t crash into Cassius, it would catch Damion (and herself) in its radius. Cassius’s crackers would find each of the badgers as they sparkled and popped upon the piste. Haven would find no healing magic pour forth from her wand. A subpar cast? Or had her spell been stolen by another? As Aida’s confringo shot towards Lea, a second spell would manifest. If Galton hadn’t seen it before he would have thought it to be a mistake. Galton was to his feet before the second spell make impact.

Through explosion and smoke it was hard to tell what had hit her, but the puffed up eyes were a good sign. “PAUSE!” The mediwizards would be fetched and take an unconscious Lea away.

A short pause and they were ready to resume. The Murder had pulled ahead, but was it enough momentum to keep them ahead?

There was something deeply satisfying about a good, solid confrigo. Was it sure to cause suffering in its recipient? Well, Aida didn’t particularly care for that part… but there certainly was something about explosive blasts. It wasn’t even just the thrill of power. For the white wix it was more like a radiant, beautiful firework, and one a quite a bit more dramatic than the neighboring cracker jinx. If only I could be a confrigo in life, thought Aida.

The bleeding just got even worse over time, non-stopping and making Lindsey want to curse under her breath. She steadied herself and casted a Cracker Jinx, aiming at Cassius, as the explosions started to fill the stage - uh. Lindsey blinked in utter surprise and confusion when she herself was caught in the radius, coughing while peeking at her opponents. Cassius and Ellwood stepped out the way; White was also caught in radius like herself, and that’s rather a comfort. Meanwhile, Lea’s spell unfortunately missed its target, and Haven’s healing spell somehow just didn’t work.

Cassius was landing solid hits on all of them, and Lindsey grimaced as the annoying bleeding started again in the smell of explosions. And not one - but two spells came from Ellwood, explosive blasts overwhelming the silhouette of Lea. Lindsey’s heart tightened. “Lea!” She gasped as the smoke cleared and her teammate dropped to the floor, helplessly watching the mediwizards taking Lea’s unconscious body off the stage. Now they were just two. “We’ll do this…” She whispered, both to Haven and to her own self. Was that a statement or was it left with a question mark? Lindsey wasn’t sure. All she knew was that she had to do this. They had to do this.

"Are we supposed to be bleeding this much? I don't think we're supposed to be bleeding this much. I don't remember signing up for this. Am I dying?" Haven wondered aloud. She couldn't see very well, but did see a lot, like a lot of blood. And on Lindsey. And- wait, where did Lea go?
"Oh my Merlin I've killed her," she exclaimed in horror. She hadn't meant to kill Lea! She was just trying to reparifors her, she didn't think she was that horrible at healing, but man! Haven should not be trusted in a hospital. But Lea needed one.
You're in the middle of a duel! She reminded herself. Oh, right, she was in the middle of a duel, haha. She probably didn't accidentally murder Lea. That would be the aptly-named Murder of Merlin.
They were going down.

A Cracker Jinx often did the trick and this was no exception. Content to follow up on the momentum, Cassius went on the attack. Thankfully for him, he managed to avoid any incoming spells. In all, it was a rather successful round for his team.

Cassius was feeling confident. One skilled duellist was down. Two more remained. Cassius readied himself or what was to come next.

Ravenclaw had drawn the first KO and they were not stopping there. A they'd make sure everyone would know. Loudly.

Aida and Cassius joined forces and minds, concocting a devastating duo of confringos for the Badgers. Damion and Haven would be lost in the background this bout as both of their spells (a flipendo and an obscuro) would fail to produce anything. While the only Badger to cast, Lindsey, would take inspiration from her team name and try to light the birds aflame with an Incendio Duo.

Sadly, Lindsey's flames would not roast any ravens today. Though she was shooting at a vortex trapped Damion, the fog would be too much, and her flames would shoot off over her target. In an equally tragic way, Lindsey would not be able to move out of the dual confringos headed her way. A thunderous one, two impact would envelop Lindsey in smoke and flames for a brief moment before clearing and leaving the bruised and burnt badger still standing (and still bleeding).

The Murder's luck had not seemed to turn on them yet. Would the Badgers find a way to flip the widening lead on the birds' heads?

It felt like people were distracted or tired out or something. Aida didn’t get it. Was it simply the time of year? Spells were failing and missing all over the place. Well, the wix mused, they wouldn’t have to endure this for much longer. It would be nice to have a picnic after this. Maybe the mermaids weren’t too busy today.
