☆ I really need to get a hand on that damn map. Elena was running late. Again. Five minutes. Her footsteps echoed throughout the corridors as she rushed. This morning had actually started pretty nicely, she had breakfast with her friends, took a couple of classes... She had a break until her next class, and decided to go to her usual spot, underneath the willow tree near the Great Lake. That was her first mistake, the second being opening her favourite book. In the blink of an eye, half the day had gone. And of course, being who she was, she got confused between two staircases and ended up on the opposite side of the dungeons. 10/10, Elena. Bravo, as they would say.
Shaking her head, she quickened her pace, one hand gripping her bag. She couldn't be late, especially not today. For some obscure reason, they had class with the second years. Maybe to show us how to properly handle the ingredients. Elena liked potions, even if it wasn't her favourite class. Following a step by step method helped clear her mind of all the parasite thoughts that usually lingered. For now, things seemed to be going well. She had only messed up one potion, where she stirred clockwise instead of counter clockwise, but it wasn't that bad, turned mauve instead of lilac.
Finally reaching the wooden door, she let out a short sigh, catching her breath as she calmed herself. Right on time. I'm literally amazing. Muffling a chuckle, she pushed the door and acted like she didn't just ran across the entire castle. Blinking a few times to accustomate to the darkness, she spotted a table where a few ravens were seated. Looking around, she suddenly noticed they had classes with the second year slytherins, not ravenclaw. Hey, maybe Cass and Prat will be here !Pushing her blonde hair behind her shoulder, she looked around for her friends, but without results. Knowing them, they were probably in detention somewhere. As she examined the classroom, playing with her necklace, she suddenly spotted a girl playing with her brown hair. And her heart stopped.
Claws of steel seemed to have seized Elena's heart, squeezing it as her ears started buzzing. Her anxiety had kicked her right in the face, making her head light and her thoughts blurry. Amazing. She actually tried to forget about that interaction, partially because she wasn't proud of how she reacted, even if she didn't completely lashed out she still got upset at that girl, and partially because a strong feeling of dislike had settled in her mind regarding the slytherin. Looking in front of her, she mumbled something under her breath about luck, and immediatly started analyzing how she could avoid any interaction with her ever in this class.☆

☆ Busy doodling in a small midnight blue notebook, Elena was completely oblivious to what was happening around her. She had a weird feeling things would not turn out in her favour, but she thought if she'd ignore it hard enough, then maybe if-
"Miss Roux and Miss Clark." Raising her head at the mention of her name, Elena scanned the class looking for this "Miss Roux". Meeting the burning gaze of the Slytherin girl, she instead decided to look for her teacher again, but she had already gone. Maybe it's not her
? Maybe she's just staring because- yeah, no, okay. No one stares like that unless... Sighing, she grabbed her bag and reluctantly walked to the girl's station.
Walking very slowly, the blonde girl reviewed her options and the consequences of each one. She could not talk to her at all, but it would make things worse and probably ruin the potion, which Elena couldn't afford. She could pretend it never happened, but she didn't think the other girl would play the game. She seemed the kind that holds a grudge to the tomb.
All of this over a small fight, really ? Already tired of the girl's behavior before even talking to her again, Elena dropped her bag on the table and sat on a barstool. The dilemma she had between talking and not talking was quickly solved by the teacher starting to explain the potion and different steps.
Looking right in front of her, Elena's leg was twitching nervously. Someone burry me under the ground, please. Why did it had to be her ?☆

xxxxxxxx The absolutely audacity of this snake baffled Elena. Not only was she incredibly rude, sighing and rolling her eyes like she was currently doing - ostentatiously, she might add - but she now openly showing her personal dislike in being paired with her. Dislike that was very much shared, as Elena's expression obviously stated.
She couldn't see any way this might end up with a positive outlook, otherwise than pretending the incident that had unfolded a few days ago didn't happen. Which, given the hostile attitude of the snake, seemed fated to fail. The previous anxiety that had taken control of her body had now completely disappeared, replaced by a growing sense of irritation. Elena wasn't one to lash on someone she barely knew, but this girl might be an exception to the rule. Again.
Her gaze crossed the one of her teacher, and the underlined threat of start working or else immediately made her shift her focus back to the table. Well, if I have no other choice that to cooperate, she sighed. Maybe it wouldn't actually be so bad, if she managed to internalize her emotions the way she knew how. If she was nice and smiley, then maybe that old hag would show a little more courtesy, and-
"Alright then, Miss Clark. I suppose we should get to work, and as I am older than you, I should do most of the steps, you can just watch and learn I guess."
The absolute nerve of that-
Biting an insult at the clearly condescending tone of that much older and wiser witch, Elena's eyebrows rose as a audible scoff escaped her lips. Baffled by that girl's narcissistic and just childish attitude, she couldn't help but bite back. "By all means," she retorted, sarcasm dripping from her voice. "Enlighten me with your endless wisdom, as surely age reflects a person's mind and... maturity." That last word was uttered with an up-and-down look that clearly stated what she thought.
Merlin, this lesson is going to be long.
Deciding on ignoring the snake sharing her table - as much as if was possible, given it seemed eager to bite again - Elena opened her textbook to the right page, and read the instructions.
xxxxxxxx
