Ayumi watched as her opponent's spell backfires on herself, leaving the poor girl's legs spasming due to the spell. While Ayumi would normally ask if the girl needs help, she also knows that they are in a duel and that they are on opposite teams. She can only hope that she does not cast a spell on herself intentionally like her opponent just did. She will show some care after the fight is over, Ayumi promised herself.

Wide-eyed and extremely excited about all of this, Cass watched the action unfold. Over on the lions side of the piste, Lemmy aimed his wand at Lucretcia only to have it backfire dramatically and shower him with flames instead. Ouch. That looked like it had hurt, and he was still slightly on fire. Were they allowed to put it out, or was the suffering just part of the duel? They decided to go for the safe option and not interfere, instead returning to commentating. "Lemmy casts Incendio, but it doesn't go that well" they looked at him and his smoking clothes with concern "Another extremely lucky save for Lucretcia and the ravens". Seriously, had that girl been drinking that potion that made you super lucky for a day? They couldn't remember the name of it, but they were pretty sure it was cheating if she was. More importantly though, where did she would she have gotten it? And could they get some too?
Scout chose a different target, pointing her wand at Aria instead. The ravenclaw neatly dodged the cast though, deciding that she didn't want to be set on fire today thank you very much. "Scout attempts to cast Incendio at Aria, but she dodges!" they pointed one finger at the piste, where Ayumi was also letting off a spell of her own. "Ayumi is attempting to finish the job that Lemmy started, will Lucretcia's luck continue?" they held their breath, but it turned out that dodging would be hard for the currently dancing girl. She was struck by the Incendio, and for a second Cass was sure that it would be her last spell for the match. Lucretcia however, was just clinging on. "Nope! Lucretcia is hit! But she's still got some fight left in her. Keep going! You got this!" a mix of commentary and encouragement was hurled at the girl. "Oh! Troy is seeking revenge for Ayumi targeting his teammate!" they watched with eager eyes "Annnddd he misses! But good try though!". Meanwhile, the last member of the ravenclaw team continued to look distant.

Little Lemmy was having the time of his life! His spells were not failing and he even managed to land one or two of them. Not only that, but it seemed like his team might just have a slight edge in the match. His Incendios seemed to be serving him well, so why stop now? With another swish of his wand he tried again, but now it was time for the youngster to learn a hard life lesson. When playing with fire, you better pay attention. Just the slightest lapse in his concentration proved to be enough to have his spell backfire on him. Lemmy did his best not to panic and pushed on!

Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw: Match 8
Ayumi points her wand at Lucretcia despite her internal struggles. A duel opponent who is suffering from a spell's backlashes is a duel opponent who is vulnerable and an easy target. Ayumi has to take the chance and secure the win. Unfortunately, although her spell has hit, the opponent is still holding on.
At least the spell works properly, Ayumi assures herself as she glances at Lemmy, who is on fire. Judging by how their opponents' spells missed their targets and the duel moderator's words, he has probably cast incendio on one of the enemies and hit himself instead. Ayumi will try not to do the same.

Lucretcia staggered back a step as she was hit with a burst of flame, but thankfully her hair and clothing didnt ignite. Something primal deep inside of her reacted to the flame and she felt her hidden fangs twitch inside of her gums as her pupils dilate but she shakes her head and clenches her jaw to keep herself level and focus. This duel wasnt over yet and she still had to keep her head on straight if she was going to have any chance. She takes a deep breath and readies herself for the next part of the duel.

He screamed the spell, pointed at one of his opponents, hoping to land something, but he missed. Miserably, he could’ve done better. That better would be now. He thought about what to do next, all the spells he had learnt this term, it wasn’t a lot but it would be something. It was just the matter of choosing.

Green eyes intent on watching the duelists battle it out, Cass continued with their commentary as the spell continued to rain. "The Gryffindor team has clearly been strategizing, all three of them cast incendio towards the ravens!" the three jets of fire were impressive to watch, but only two of them would find their targets. Ayumi had been trying to hit Troy, but he managed to dodge out of the way of the flame. Aria and Lucretcia would be less lucky, with Scout and Lemmy respectively hitting their targets. "Aria is looking much worse for wear, and this might be the last hit that Lucretcia can take!" the duel was certainly heating up, literally. The flames had caught the hem of Aria's clothes, and would continue to burn there.
Before Lucretcia could take her last bow by hitting the floor and passing out however, she managed to cling on enough to take one last shoot at her opponents. Both her and Troy would cast Tarantallegra at Ayumi, aiming for a bit of revenge. Their last teammate would continue to stand there and simply do nothing, gazing off into space. "The ravenclaw team has picked their target, and they both aim true! Ayumi is dancing once again" their efforts were certainly inspiring, but Lucretica wouldn't be able to take anymore. She would collapse to the floor at the impact of Lemmy's jet of flames, and the remaining two ravenclaws would be left to fight alone.

Lemmy was a bit in over his head with this dueling business, but it sure was thrilling! Well, currently being on fire wasn't all that fun and try as he might he could not pat out the flames. Thank Merlin wearing a heavy cloak was customary in the wizarding world. The part-goblin did his best to focus and launched another Incendio at his target. Much to his delight one of the Ravenclaws would be knocked out of the match. One down, two to go. If they could remain standing themselves.
