This just in : In a chilling turn of events that have left residents of our once-peaceful town on edge, with the latest ttring of unexplained blackouts have seemed to coincide with the emergence of a new and particularly heinous criminal. The latest victim of the shadowy figure stalking the streets is Giovanni Moretti,who was found brutally shot in the left arm after the power outage. The attack resulted in the immediate need for an amputation to save his life.

According to the distressed 911 call made, Giovanni was found in a pool of his own blood, struggling to remain conscious as he desperately tried to crawl away from the place of attack. The detective from the Police Department arrived swiftly on the scene but reportedly found no trace of the perpetrator. The lack of evidence in addition to the chaos of the ongoing blackout, has seemingly made it harder for the authorities to piece together the events following the attack.

The mysterious blackout, which has since been deemed a result of the state's overwhelmed power grid, seems to have provided the perfect cover for the new freak serial killer in town. However The town's law enforcement is working tirelessly to restore a semblance of order, those actions being increasing patrols and urging all our residents to stay indoors after dark. The community however remains in a state of heightened fear.

Giovanni's condition is now stable, though the loss of his hand is a stark reminder of the horror that lurks in the dark.

I've been accused of a murder! What do I do?
Well dearie, you would've been considered "executed" if the majority votes you as murderer. This means that you are out. The game is over when all of the players are dead except for the detective and murderer, or when the murderer has been accused and executed.

How do I vote?
Every round, you need to send me an owl of who you're voting or accusing. Additionally you MUST post otherwise your vote will be seen as invalid.

Good for you, you may continue in the game. However, one of your limbs have been ic AMPUTATED so in roleplay, you would not have that limb because the doctor amputated the shot limb.

What if I have to leave Out of Character and I'm the Murderer or a Doctor or a Detective?
That's fine, just please notify us at some point. We will owl another person and give them an additional "title" for their character that they are already playing. For example: Baker is now Murderer but still the same character, you don't gain another. When it comes to a detective and a doctor, unfortunately, we won't pass it on. The game continues until its over.

What you choose to say or do in your post whether ooc or ic can be used against you so do your best to keep your "secret" role anonymous. Alyss was only slightly paying attention to the conversation, still buzzing from her conversation with Nabi earlier, seeing all of these friends and hanging out with them, as well as the obvious excitement over the mere prospect of a murder mystery game. Alyss felt her mind wander quite a couple times, tuning back in to hear Evpraksiya jump into the conversation to talk about… Sicilian pastries. Clearly, the two came from very different walks of life.

Alyss shot her a smile, before mentioning “I must admit, Sicilian pastries are about as far from a homely comfort as I could find, but I can agree with the sentiment.” Alyss was trying not to sound too poor, per say, but still be appreciative of her words. That was, until it was finally time for the murder mystery portion, the time they had all been awaiting with patience impatience. Or at least, that had been Alyss’s experience.

As the lights went out for the first time, she let out a slight yelp of surprise at the sudden blackout, before feeling a soft bullet hit her left arm. Of all the people to target, she was the victim? It seemed like forever that the lights remained out, but in reality, it was probably only 40 seconds to a minute. The brief flicker of the lights, illuminating the space for a split second allowed for her to spy a red dot on her arm, where she had been hit. Thankfully, when the lights came back on for good, the doctor had healed her!

Shocked but still relieved, Alyss hid her left arm behind her torso and proclaimed: “I, Giovanni Moretti, have been shot! How tragic! My arm had to be amputated, but thankfully, I live on! Now for the question: which one of you is an attempted murderer?” Alyss made sure to finish dramatically, smirking as she began to point at everyone in the surrounding circle.

Nabi had been staring at the champagne-haired boy when suddenly the lights went out. In the abyss of the darkness, her eyes remained, and the sound of a gun going off followed by a soft yelp engulfed her ears. And so it begins...I imagined the weapon would be a knife...hm, what an odd choice. Her grey eyes remained staring out to the darkness that lay ahead of her, whispers could be heard from those in her group, but she remained in silence with her back to a wall.

Not a moment too soon, the lights came on, replacing the darkness with sudden and blinding light. As her eyes came into focus, she noticed a figure placing their arm behind their back. And there is the first victim...Miss Alyss...you did not last that long, my dear. It was announced the young blonde was healed by a doctor, causing Nabi to raise an eyebrow in response. Her eyes flickered over to the rest of her group, not one any less of a suspect than the person beside them.

Alliasta was a little bored because she came alone. Boris had settled in another group. So she really wished she could come with someone. But who said she was alone, the girl could of course talk to those around her.

But when the lights went out, Alliasta stood where she was for a moment. Because the girl had a fear of the dark. She didn't feel anything and then the lights came back on. Alliasta let out a breath she didn't even know she was holding. But the lights went out again. The doctor was going to heal the person who was shot. And when it finally opened, Alliasta immediately looked around. Until a girl spoke. Oh she was the one who got shot.

Alliasta sighed. Giovanni, maybe there was someone who hated him, and that's why they chose him as the first target. Everyone around was a suspect. What about detective? What is they doing? I hope they finds the murderer soon. Alliasta thought. So if the detective somehow really found the murderer, the murderer would be caught and the village would be at peace.

"There is no peace for anyone until the murderer is found..." Alliasta paused for a moment. She didn't want to draw attention to herself by talking too much, and she didn't want to be the second one to get shot, or for anyone to think she was something. But she still smiled sweetly at everyone.

In a live breaking news update, the residents continue struggling to come to terms with the second harrowing incident in our peaceful community. The somber mood is palpable, as neighbors gather in small groups. The victim this time Giovanni Moretti, our resident Doctor @Alyss Gilmour was found in a desperate state, shot in the chest, and tragically lost their life. Dcotors had no chance of saving them even upon their discovery of him.

The grisly incident occurred during the third blackout. Residents are left to feel vulnerable as they question their safety and the capabilities of the law enforcement. The Police Department has yet to confirm if the two incidents are interlinked or not, the similarities however are alarming. The authorities are asking anyone with intel to step forward in order to assist them, as they yet again attempt to emphasize the importance of our unity as the town deals with a heinous criminal on the rise. With the investigation unfolding, our the town's sense of security continues to unravel and be torn. The urgent need to bring the killer to justice grows with each passing moment.

The question on everyone's mind however. IS OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT COMPETENT ENOUGH? recent reports suggest the people still have their trust in them as the populace has yet to fall into vigilante justice or any cult like activities.

Nabi had been observing the rest of her group from the corner of the room where she had been standing. It could be anyone...I must keep vigilant in case the culprit makes an error, she remained in silence so to not draw attention to herself.

Suddenly, just like moments prior, the lights went out and the sound of another shot fired echoed within four walls of the room. The silence that came with it was palpable, Nabi found herself preparing for when the lights came back on to see who was the second victim.

No one seemed to be fazed by the revelation brought forth as soon as the lights came back on and Alyss on the floor "dead". Nabi's eyebrow raised as the announcer revealed Alyss' role was the doctor, How ironic...
As she gazed upon the young girl pretending to be dead, she could not help but think,

You really did not last long, Miss Alyss.

While the town grapples with the aftermath of the murdering psychopath , ominous thunderclouds gather, are they perhaps foreshadowing another dark turn in what used to be a peaceful life in the community. With the recent blackout, things are only getting worse as recently, the skies opened up, drenching the streets in a torrent of rain. Things became worse when the terrifying sound of a gunshot pierced the eerie calm the rain had brought with itself, replacing the terrifying night with a potentially even higher body count.

According to some witnesses, Tony DeLuca (@Elena Clark), a local mechanic famous for his skill, was found dead near a housing block, with a bullet to the head resulting in immediate death. The panicked residents, already on edge from the previous incidents, immediately suspected some kind of foul play was involved. The situation continued to get increasingly tense as this was now the second murder of the night and with added rain to worsen the dread.

In these tough times, we hope all the citizens of the town may come together, stay strong and trust our finest to find the culprit as soon as they can. We also ask the citizens to not roam out alone or find themselves in situations that may find them separated.

Novalie’s grin stretched ear to ear as she chatted with Elena. “So, you’re Tony DeLuca, huh? That rings a bell.”, she quickly glanced back at her ID card, skimming over the details of her character’s grudge. In her opinion, it seemed like a strange grudge to hold, but then again, Novalie rarely grasped the nuances of social conflicts or why people got upset in the first place. So the blonde shrugged it off without much thought. When Elena called out to Eric, Novalie twirled around enthusiastically and waved him over, “Oh yeah, that’s Eric! He’s, like, seriously the best!” The Ravenclaw cupped her hands around her mouth and shouted across the room, “Eric, come over here! These are my friends - you’ve got to meet them all!”. Before anything, however, the room plunged into sudden darkness. For a moment, Novalie froze, startled, her eyes darting around in vain to catch some outlines, some kind of movement... And just as quickly as it went out, the lights flickered back on, an announcement ringing out: Alyss had been shot in the hand. “Oh no, Alyss!”, Novalie exclaimed, though her voice carried a chuckle of amusement rather than alarm. She rushed over to her friend, grinning as she playfully held out her hands. “Don’t worry - I’ll be your substitute hand! Tell me what you want to grab and I’ll do it for you. When they came back on, Alyss had been taken out of the game, a dramatic chest-shot marking her as the first official murder case. Novalie gasped theatrically, slapping her hands to her cheeks. “Oh no! Alyss!” So much for teamwork. Despite the gravity of the announcement, the playful gleam in her eyes showed how much fun Novalie was having though. Seeing Alyss now being the first 'corpse', Novalie couldn’t help but find the game more thrilling. It gave her a rush of excitement to think she’d been standing right beside the victim when it all unfolded. Of course, since it was all in good fun, the girl quickly shrugged off any seriousness, glancing around with an amused giggle. “Well, there goes our doctor!”, she quipped, her tone light, “The murderer must be, like, super smart or something - taking out our only hope and all.” As she scanned the room, her gaze lingered on Nabi. Something about her composed demeanor struck Novalie as particularly clever... Then again, she thought, most calm and collected people were probably geniuses. The lights dimmed for a third time and when they brightened again, Elena was revealed as the next victim, taken out with a headshot. “Wow, damn!”, Novalie whispered, her tone impressed. Her green eyes sparkled as she glanced around the room, a wide grin spreading across her face. “Someone really knows their way around a gun.”, she said, her voice casual. Novalie turned her attention to Nabi again, playfully asking, "Are you the murderer? You look like you're smart and talented." She’d accused Waffles just like this before, though by now she’d completely forgotten about him. Her focus flitted like a curious butterfly, never lingering on one flower - or in that case, one person- for too long.

Another round, another loop. Prat decided he would walk up to each present person in the group and ask them if they each want a mocktail. Sure, it was not real, nor cocktail, but still a drink nevertheless if not spicy at that. He looked at some of them through the pouring rain and could not help but feel slightly pitiful, only to crack a wicked smile, a Jim Carey grinch smile.

It was time to begin, and Prat was prepared. This time, he wasn't going to use his arms, but instead his shoes. He sat down on the ground to undo his shoelaces and slide the now-untied shoes off of his feet and he stood up to face each of them, his foot visible. He held onto the eyelet of the shoe and slammed the soles onto the walls as hard as he could, a louder bang, a louder slap. "LIGHTS OFF!" He proclaimed, again announcing the lights being turned off for the reason they would all come to know at this point. It was time for the murder.

A minute passed and the lights turned on.

It made his heart happy to hear the molded orange plastic hit their target, whoever the Murderer was aiming at. He looked at where the bullet fell and followed it up to the nearest person, seeing where it hit them. Now, he was not sure, but he figured he'd at least trust them. He'd get to do a doctor phase again, only their doctor was already dead. Seemingly one of the first few victims included the doctor in all their glory.

Again, he used his shoes and slammed them onto the walls to signify yet another lights out. He would've given the doctor 30 seconds to go over had they been alive. An additional 30 seconds was added as Prat quickly rushed over to say to the victim that they needed to act like they were shot. He ran back over to the wall to signify that the lights were coming back on as the victim got shot to death.

The Jim Carrey smile struck his face again as he stared back. "None of you have been voted out. Congratulations, there is still a killer hiding amongst us, find them and eliminate them."

OC: I know this isn't the style you're used to, next week Prat should be back in function.

When the light goes out, you'll hear a bang from the nerf gun and if you feel yourself getting shot with a foam bullet, you have been killed. You may lay down on the ground and play dead. You may find a funny pose to be in, whatever. When the light goes back on, a vote will be held to accuse someone of the murder.

I've been accused of a murder! What do I do?
Well dearie, you would've been considered "executed" if the majority votes you as murderer. This means that you are out. The game is over when all of the players are dead except for the detective and murderer, or when the murderer has been accused and executed.

How do I vote?
Every round, you need to send me an owl of who you're voting or accusing. Additionally you MUST post otherwise your vote will be seen as invalid.

I did not post for a round or more, what happens? (if you don't send me your vote but post, it's okay, don't worry about it.)
The murderer will likely kill you the next round.

I'm the murderer! What happens now?
Post each round. Send me your target via owl. In Character, when the lights go out, you can pull out your nerf gun and shoot your target. You will have the rest of the minute to hide the gun or conceal it.

I'm a doctor! What happens now?

Good for you, you may continue in the game. However, one of your limbs have been ic AMPUTATED so in roleplay, you would not have that limb because the doctor amputated the shot limb.

What if I have to leave Out of Character and I'm the Murderer or a Doctor or a Detective?
That's fine, just please notify us at some point. We will owl another person and give them an additional "title" for their character that they are already playing. For example: Baker is now Murderer but still the same character, you don't gain another. When it comes to a detective and a doctor, unfortunately, we won't pass it on. The game continues until its over.

Please note: We are taking actions via owl so that actions and votes are anonymous to keep the mystery. What you choose to say or do in your post whether ooc or ic can be used against you so do your best to keep your "secret" role anonymous. If you are a detective or a murderer it can be used against you if you say it out loud. We suggest coming up with an undercover job to conceal the fact. Not required, you could be vague, but what you say and do whether oc or ic can be used against you.

The rain Prat and Noah had decided to employ for the game did not seem to be letting up at all, for scenario however.

Continuous Rains continue showering the city with cold winds and further darkness as the unidentified killer strikes again. Enveloped in the shroud of darkness, our elusive killer attempted to scratch another name off his list as he caught the local Baker, Sofia Mancini during these dangerous time. The shot was so poorly aimed it passed right beside the victim, giving them chance to make an escape. As the bullet somewhat grazed the victim, the killer made their own escape, running away yet again.

Question on everyone's mind remains as to who is the elusive killer that has managed to thin down our town's population while keeping their own identity a secret. Further comments from locals only seem to question the work of our police department and their very sloppy act at handling the situation. Recent trends include the populace going into vigilantism as they judge residents under the guise of doubts and begin trials with no evidence, even going as far to executing them under their own attempts at justice. One might fear whether this vigilantism might only be a pipe dream realisation to those wishing for Anarchy.
