Watch Where You're Going, Why Don't You?
Amelia was a tad surprised; the girl had not only accepted the tissues, but also used them. Amelia hoped the girl would see this as an apology, since she was not going to apologize. Not right now, at least. For now, she was thankful and satisfied that the girl accepted her tissues.
What she didn't expect was for her to join their hug– as Pam extended her hand to the not-so-much of a stranger now, Amelia smiled a little, in spite of herself, and wrapped her free hand around the third girl when she joined them, weeping and smiling at the same time. She wasn't even sure why she was smiling to begin with; it was stupid, really. It was nice, though, to be held by people, even if one was a stranger.
Oh. she was still a stranger. Still sobbing, Amelia asked in a shaky voice: "So, what's your name, anyway?"
She might just befriend this girl someday, but today was probably not the day. The hug was cozy, true, but Amelia was still a bit upset, even though she had acted stupidly and the whole situation was completely her fault. But it didn't mean they had to depart without knowing each other's names. She wouldn't let this go wrong, though. She had no idea how the girl would answer, now that they were crying and hugging, but she couldn't risk arguing again. So before the other girl could reply, Amelia added quickly: "I'm Amelia, Amelia Garnett."

Watch Where You're Going, Why Don't You?
Pam watched as the girl accepted the tissues from Amelia and accepted her raised hand as she joined the hug too. Pam wrapped her arms around her as Amelia did too, as she caught the smile on her friend's face, causing her heart to lift a bit. Pam heard the girl say thank you, which made Pam squeeze her shoulder, where her right hand rested.
Pam sniffled as she placed her head on the Gryffindor's, inhaling as she regained control over her tear ducts (or her brain did, whatever!) She breathed deeply, her nose catching a whiff of crisp night air, which caused her to smile slightly.
She heard Amelia finally break the silence in a shaky voice, still between sobs, as she asked the girl what her name was, adding that hers was Amelia. Breaking silence is good. her brain supplied, Chance of death: 20%, Chance of friendship: currently 30%, Chances of being strangers and not enemies: 50%. Pam couldn't help but giggle, both at the thought and at the irony of their current situations. She had been prepared to throw hands at the Gryffindor 5 minutes ago. All hail Amelia.her brain added helpfully, causing her to grin wider as her mood improved.

XXXAs Eonaria joined the sobbing group hug, she heard the Slytherin ask for her name, shaky but somehow still a bit snarky. She laughed weakly. "Eonaria Kabukimono. It's a pleasure to meet you, Amelia. Even though we're in a bit of a mess at the moment." She found herself smiling slightly through tears. "I'm honored to have met you and Pam." The whole situation had completely turned right around.
XXXEonaria felt Pam rest her head against hers, sniffling. It reminded her of hugging family, where you could probably literally do whatever you wanted and it would be fine. Well, that's not really how it works in my family, but my brother lets me do that... sometimes. She squeezed a little harder, feeling her chest tighten up. It was an incredible feeling, despite the circumstance. Eonaria thought she heard Pam giggle, but she wasn't entirely sure. She smiled a little wider. Cry all the negative emotions out, y'know?
XXXAfter a long moment, she finally broke the silence. "So... Are we, uh, good now?" Then she squeaked out, "I'm sorry for what I said. Um. All of what I said, really. I was being a prat." Shame washed over her again. Hopefully they could all just move past it, but she had a feeling it wouldn't be quite that easy. Eonaria wiped her face with another tissue.

Watch Where You're Going, Why Don't You?
Struggling to remember the long name, Amelia focused on it for a minute, trying to repeat and memorize it.
As the girl - Eonaria, now - asked if they were alright now and if the fight was settled, Amelia took a step back. It was a bit too close for her, the group hug, especially now with the intimidating question. It was nice, she wouldn't lie, it did feel good. But it suddenly felt like too much- too close for comfort.
But now Eonaria- ha, Amelia managed to remember! - apologized, so... Should it be her turn now? Should she say sorry? It would be mean not to, even though she was the one at fault here. She couldn't just swallow her own pride like that anyway, and even if she could, she wouldn't know what to say...
At a loss, Amelia looked at Pam helplessly, trying to keep her facial expression natural while also deliver the message, so Eonaria wouldn't be hurt and so Pam would be able to save her.
Eonaria used the tissue again, and Amelia could feel her heart breaking in two: what should she do?? Trying to buy some time, Amelia decided to ignore what Eonaria said for a second, hoping it would not appear weird. "You know, Eonaria is a cute name, but a bit long. Would you mind if we just called you Nari?" She included Pam in her question subconsciously, not even thinking.

Pam laughed lightly, feeling relieved at how the situation turned out as they started talking to one another. She sighed softly before she felt Amelia pull away after hearing the Gryffindor-Eonaria- ask if they would be okay now. Pam wouldn't personally mind, but she wasn't sure how Amelia might take the rather loaded question. Therefore, it came to her as a relief on hearing Amelia responding to the girl's rather long name, although Pam quickly noted the fact that she had obviously avoided the important question. Pam shrugged mentally; she would have to answer it sooner or later anyway.
She disentangled herself from the group, softly patting Eonaria on her back before turning to Amelia, "Did my giving a nickname habit finally rub off on you?" Pam asked jokingly before turning to Eonaria and smiling softly at her, remembering her question from earlier. She held her hand out to her again, similar to what she had done the first time they met, "You and I can start over. If you want." She threw Amelia a look, telling her to say something, although she wasn't exactly sure what. Perhaps an apology would be a good starter, although knowing her friend as she did, that would be hard for her.

XXXJust then, Amelia pulled away, looking a bit uncomfortable. Eonaria winced. Was her question too sudden? Too early to forgive? She glanced away, trying not to blush in shame. Dang it. But the Slytherin simply glanced anxiously at Pam. Eonaria blinked. What was that supposed to mean? Were they communicating through glances? It both impressed her and heightened her sense of anxiety.
XXXAfter a pause, Amelia asked if she could shorten her name to Nari instead. "Oh, um, sure." Eonaria was puzzled. Was she just avoiding the question? Valid. I wouldn't want to answer that question either.
XXXPam joked that her penchant for giving nicknames finally rubbed off onto Amelia, causing Eonaria to smile. Then the friendly Hufflepuff held out her hand again, offering to start over. She took her hand with a smile. "Yes. Definitely." Hey, they already had an emotional bonding experience of crying their eyes out, so why not? Eonaria wanted to minimize the amount of enemies she had.
XXXPam shot Amelia a glance, perhaps prompting her to say something, but she couldn't decode it very well. Eonaria should probably work on reading body language. She did most of her social interaction practice with her brother, though it didn't help much as he mostly looked bored and irritated eighty-two percent of the time and barely reacted to anything except for things that angered him.

Watch Where You're Going, Why Don't You?
Well, at least now one problem could be ticked off the list: Nari's name. Short and easy! Pam's remark about nicknames made her snicker, too, but it was barely visible, as she moved her hands across her face, trying to wipe away any remnant of the tears. She would have to go to the restroom later, to wash her face properly.
But now Pam's meaningful look urged her to- to- ugh, alright then, apologize. Amelia sighed slightly as the other two decided to befriend each other, and tried to disguise it quickly with a cough. She had no choice now. Fully admitting to herself that she was in the wrong here, Amelia refrained from sighing again.
"Umm, yeah, Nari, we should..." Meeting Nari's eyes was too much, making her feel ashamed all over again, so she lowered her gaze. What a wonderful floor, isn't it? Such a complicated, lovely design, delicate too. And talking to the floor seemed much easier than apologizing to Nari's green-grey eyes– quite similar to her own, Amelia noted, surprised. How hadn't she noticed it before? "We should probably start over too, I guess." It wasn't such a long speech, but Amelia's throat felt dry, as if she had talked for hours. After a second or so, she looked up to Pam, checking for approval.

Pam raised her eyebrows in amusement as Amelia stumbled over her words in her attemp to apologise. Lol, I'm glad I don't have that much of a discomfort in apologizing if I'm wrong, she thought with a grin. As she caught Amelia's eye, which was clearly seeking her approval, her smile widened unbidden, and she nodded her head slightly to her, in a "yes my child, you did well" gesture. She had become way too fond of her friend. She looked at Eonaria, who was also looking like she was feeling a bit awkward. She had started to like this new friend too. They were friends right? As a rather uncomfortable silence stretched Pam started to feel a little restless.
Alright Pam, she told herself, think quick. You have approximately 10 more seconds to avoid 100 centuries worth of awkward silences. That thought didn't help her though, as her brain pretty much came up blank. Well that's just fantastic, she thought drily, Let's stand in awkward silence then.
She felt her shoulders relax as a topic suddenly presented itself to her. She hesitated for only a second before saying, "So um, I was headed towards the Owlery....where were you guys coming from?"

XXXAmelia sighed heavily when Pam gave her a look before hastily trying to cover it up. Eonaria tried not to giggle and managed to keep a straight face as the Slytherin mumbled that they should start over. "Oh- yes, of course." Amelia seemed extremely interested in the floor, so Eonaria looked down as well.
XXXIt was mostly ordinary stone, polished smooth by the countless footsteps pressed upon it over the centuries, though there were a few intricate traces that indicated that there might have been an elaborate design there at first. But when she glanced up again, realizing the painfully awkward silence, Pam suddenly jumped in, saying that she was initially heading towards the Owlery before this whole mess occurred. Eonaria flushed slightly.
XXX"I wasn't really going anywhere in particular, just heading back to the common room after Potions class. I have a break at the moment, so..." She shrugged uncomfortably.
XXXEonaria wasn't sure if she wanted to stay longer and talk with them or just scoot away to her regular activities. While she did want to enjoy a good conversation now that they were past the hostility, she also didn't want to hold them back from anything the other girls might have needed to do. "...what about you, Amelia?"

Watch Where You're Going, Why Don't You?
Now that her apology had been accepted and Pam had approved– with quite a funny look; Amelia would have to make her do that expression again someday, it would be hilarious!– Amelia exhaled; her shoulders felt lighter now, for some reason, as if a burden had been lifted off them.
And yet, she couldn't spend so much time with them right now- she had grown quite fond of her original idea, of sitting in the common room and reading a novel, then maybe tending to her homework. And yeah, if she had to be honest with herself, she still wasn't a hundred percent comfortable. Sure, Nari seemed cool, but the fight was still fresh in her mind, and she could still sense a bit of leftover anger in her. She didn't want to stir up any drama again.
Hesitating for a moment, she decided to go with half-honesty. She wouldn't lie, but wouldn't tell the whole truth either. It would do no good to hurt any of them now, and they might understand. "My plan was to read in the common room, and then get some homework done."
She said it deliberately in the past tense, making sure it sounded defiant but also flexible, in case she changed her mind after hearing their replies.
