Hello, i am doing the third homework for 2nd year and for the 2nd question it says,

Label the "sun-light" wand lighting charm's incantation (exact pronunciation), wand movement, effect, and etymology.

What does thw word Etymology mean? I googled it but that didn't make sense.

Hello! I just want to ask something from the Y1L1, because one of the studies mentioned in the lecture is, in verbatim: “Herbology- for example uses Astronomy for a part of the Animagus process.” Isn't the study supposed to be in Transfiguration or am I actually tweaking?

First, when I wrote that lesson it was using the information provided by the previous professor's lesson before I rewrote Y1L1. Second, I'm pretty sure the reason why Herbology is mentioned specifically is because of the mandrake leaf the person has to hold in their mouth

- Placing a mandrake leaf in their mouth from full moon to full moon.
-At the end of the lunar cycle, the wizard spits the leaf into a phial within view of the moon's rays. If it is cloudy or raining, they would have to start over.

Yes, the study is in Transfiguration, but the going through the animagus process is basically potionmaking and holding a mandrake leaf in your mouth. It uses the Lunar Cycle, hence using astronomy. But to reiliterate, I'm pretty sure it's because of the mandrake leaf.

In question one it says:

1) Write a 50 word roleplay about a wizard/witch in one of the four fields of magic using Astronomy in their study. /4

Can you use examples from the lessons, or would that be copying and/or plagiarizing? Because that is not noted. Thanks in advance!

Not exactly sure what you mean… I’m pretty sure there are only four fields of astronomy so yes you could use one of the four. (Please correct me if I am wrong!)

Not exactly sure what you mean… I’m pretty sure there are only four fields of astronomy so yes you could use one of the four. (Please correct me if I am wrong!)

I mean like the actual thing you use them for, like the wolfsbane potion, the zodiac signs, etc...
