Introductions were clearly in order, yet by this point the still sour lioness had not introduced herself nor her character; Maria Romeo. Though she was admittedly embarrassed to participate, namely due to the unfamiliar faces and act of the mystery itself. After Avis' gaze, which she had presumed to mean not to mention their previous meeting, the burgundy haired girl nodded in response, Perhaps Avis' warning gaze was what had motioned Meiyu to put the drink she had initially picked up down, her earlier irritation had left her feeling as though she lost composure, as though she had been thrown into the wild to fend for herself. With a quick shake of her head, she embraced her new role, embodying the elegant Maria as best as she could as she approached the crowding students.

With one of the students introducing themselves as Alessio Ricci @Mahlioz Evethisawe, her face had scowled. "Apologies for the late introductions on my behalf, I'm Maria Romeo, pleasure to meet you all." Meiyu began, almost cringing internally at her shift in behaviour. She could no longer hide away in the solitude she had desired, forced to interact and portray another. Though she was unable to give things up quickly, alas she was no murderer, merely a merchant of the trade. "Despite my silence earlier, I highly doubt that someone is seeking revenge Alessio." She reminded, with an almost monotone voice as though she had already grown bored of the suspicions which would almost disadvantage Meiyu, had she not chosen her words carefully. Considering it had become blatant to others that the student who portrayed Alessio was the detective, hopefully clearing her from any allegations.

"I must ask, what exactly it is you want to speak with me about?" Meiyu had piqued on behalf of her character, she had been silent and not entirely proactive during the mystery, exactly why she should not be a suspect so early on. The ID card which had been presented to her prior had mentioned Maria's key eye, similar to Meiyu's. Though she was unsure where she should divert her investigation and suspicions towards, the obvious choice would target those who are silent, yet her instincts drove towards those who had been active participants, as though they were unable to lie efficiently in attempts to hide something.

People were responding to his proposal, and that was a good sign. Maxi smiled at Giovanni, who praised him on his mechanism skills. “Why, thank you.” He replied breezily, much pleased by the compliment. “I’m more than happy to help people around with my skills.” Giovanni also talked about some professional disagreements with Carlo, and Maxi’s eyebrow raised slightly. Disagreements. Could that be the reason why Giovanni was shot? On the other hand Carlo didn’t seem to support the theory of a disagreement between them - uh huh, she was fired by Giovanni, what a story - yet was rather pleased by the shot. Well. Suspicious, indeed. Rose, who played Luca, said that she was a lawyer, but had nothing to do with murder cases. Intriguing. Maxi was curious to know the exact relationships among all the players presented.

The light went out again and Maxi was much calmer this time. Anyway. As he regained his vision, he heard Noah claiming that Alessio couldn’t get shot. That was really a nice buff, he thought, and Maxi’s dark grey eyes naturally gazed at Alessio, who was getting into the detective mode, pointing out the fact that Carlo was obviously hyped when Giovanni lost his arm. Maxi was considering whether he should say something - he had already proposed that everybody should share a facet of themselves, and if he was being too active it might render him as highly suspicious. Thankfully, Sophia was just in time to point out that there were only four people left to be suspects - built on the theory that people wouldn’t shoot themselves, that was, he mentally added. Alessio had also shown an interest in someone named Maria, the latter finally presenting herself, while declaring that she doubted if someone wished to seek revenge. What’s going on between these two? Maxi had no idea. But, if not for revenge, why was there a murderer lurking among them?

His own Vito person who owned a bar and towed his car merely because Tony parked it in front of his pub was still not showing up, and maybe never would be. Fine. It didn’t seem that he had anything else to do with the rest of the group if not for repairing cars for them - at least for now. If he said this out loud, he’d probably help himself out from the suspicion (if the murderer was indeed seeking revenge, that was), but maybe he’d just wait for a little while. Things were starting to get interesting.

When Carlo said Giovanni had tried to get him fired, he was genuinely confused. And furthermore, Carlo said he was a teacher. They didn't even work in the same field. Maybe he was just improvising the roleplaying and having fun with it? He decided to go along with it, although still very confused. Besides, it was very possible that Carlo knew something that Giovanni didn't.
"Well, I suppose I might have had something, I can't imagine what, to do with your being fired. Although it must've have a good explanation, I am sure. Besides, you're the one who always denounces everything I say regarding advice." Now that, Giovanni knew to be true from his ID card. "What exactly do you teach anyway?" Giovanni asked Carlo. This was not at all going how Giovanni had hoped. It apparently seemed that Carlo did have some sort of grudge against him and even admitted, out loud in front of everyone, that he was glad Giovanni had been shot. Quite suspicious indeed. It was nice to hear that there was a detective on their side, Alessio, if Giovanni remembered correctly. It would be nice to have sensible person get to the bottom of this before anyone else was injured, or worse, murdered.

Maria! Finally. It was ever so slightly embarrassing for Mahlioz not to have realized the girl was, in fact, Maria - Alessio was supposed to know her - but they decided to brush it off, as it wasn't their fault. Rose mentioned she was a lawyer, Mylo asked for suspects to which Mahlioz admitted she didn't have much more information than he did, and a few others said some things, but Maria was the most interesting at the moment.

Mahlioz had no idea how to act this out. She was not good at pretending to be someone she wasn't, and in a case like this one (how was she supposed to act relentless?), it was even worse. But she had to try, at least. She had brought this upon herself, after all. Why did this always happen?
"Seeking revenge, perhaps not. But..." What exactly was it they wanted to speak with her about, she asked? "I recently found out some... interesting information about my last investigation.

"I thought I could count on you, and you decided to lie to me. I haven't been able to confront you about it until now, but I'm afraid this may be the right time. While I hate to accuse you for anything - we've been friends for many years now - I'm starting to doubt your honesty. You lied to me in my investigation, how do I know you aren't keeping things from me now?"

Phew, words were hard. But that had been okay, right? Actually, she was rather proud of that spiel. Who knew if it held up, but it was in character, and they hadn't stuttered once. They decided to take on a more neutral expression, just like Maria - actually, the girl seemed to be impressively good at acting. Mahlioz had no idea how any of these people were doing all this so well. Hopefully she was blending in fine. Well, as fine as she could be while basically accusing someone as the detective. Okay, maybe not blending in. This was stressful.

Noah knocked on the walls, loudly banging on the solid feature as hard as he could. Whatever he would've had in his hands, Noah would've put down on the ground as he announced yet another blackout. He had plans for this fun little situation, something he didn't do in the last few rounds. The lights went off, a gun reflecting in the light, the same old same old, but with one difference. Noah pulled out his wand, pointing towards the ceiling of the dark room, and he spoke the incantation just as he made the wand movement.

An unseen raincloud grew across the ceiling of the room, embracing the darkness. A little rumbling of thunder could be heard. It would've masked the sound or ricocheting of the nerf bullets if they were shot. Noah hid the wand back in his pocket and banged on the walls once again. "LIGHTS ON!" He would proclaim. As the lights flew on, the room remained shadowy, but enough light was present for visibility. Raindrops would fall, smelling like peppermint, and every thud of the raindrop on some surface enhanced and made the smell stronger.

The gun was put away, as Noah couldn't see it, the bullet far away from the target. It was pretty obvious it missed. Noah murmured before he prepared himself for announcing the votes. Sure, he didn't do it in the other rounds but he found it interesting himself. "Two votes for Avis, two votes for Mylo and two votes for Meiyu." He smiled, looking up at the ceiling. "No one is eliminated, no one killed."

Noah shot them a grin, now slightly pleased with himself with the fact that its raining on them.

Notice
Every mod post, you will notice that the light goes out every time there is a murder. The light stays out for 1 minute to allow the murderer to conceal the weapon in some way and to avoid suspicion. When the light goes out, you'll hear a bang from the nerf gun and if you feel yourself getting shot with a foam bullet, you have been killed. You may lay down on the ground and play dead. You may find a funny pose to be in, whatever. When the light goes back on, a vote will be held to accuse someone of the murder.

I've been accused of a murder! What do I do?
Well dearie, you would've been considered "executed" if the majority votes you as murderer. This means that you are out. The game is over when all of the players are dead except for the detective and murderer, or when the murderer has been accused and executed.

How do I vote?
Every round, you need to send me an owl of who you're voting or accusing. Additionally you MUST post otherwise your vote will be seen as invalid.

I did not post for a round or more, what happens? (if you don't send me your vote but post, it's okay, don't worry about it.)
The murderer will likely kill you the next round.

I'm the murderer! What happens now?
Post each round. Send me your target via owl. In Character, when the lights go out, you can pull out your nerf gun and shoot your target. You will have the rest of the minute to hide the gun or conceal it.

I'm the detective! What happens now?
Post each round. Send me your accused victim via owl. You cannot be killed.

I'm a doctor! What happens now?
Post each round. Send me your accused victim via owl. There will be a second blackout in the mod post in where you will have a CHANCE of healing the shot victim.

I was a shot victim! I was healed!
Good for you, you may continue in the game. However, one of your limbs have been ic AMPUTATED so in roleplay, you would not have that limb because the doctor amputated the shot limb.

What if I have to leave Out of Character and I'm the Murderer or a Doctor or a Detective?
That's fine, just please notify us at some point. We will owl another person and give them an additional "title" for their character that they are already playing. For example: Baker is now Murderer but still the same character, you don't gain another. When it comes to a detective and a doctor, unfortunately, we won't pass it on. The game continues until its over.

Please note: We are taking actions via owl so that actions and votes are anonymous to keep the mystery. What you choose to say or do in your post whether ooc or ic can be used against you so do your best to keep your "secret" role anonymous. If you are a detective or a murderer it can be used against you if you say it out loud. We suggest coming up with an undercover job to conceal the fact. Not required, you could be vague, but what you say and do whether oc or ic can be used against you.

3. Blackout #2
-> Doctor Healing: 1d100 [1-49, failed to heal. 50-100, successfully healed but amputated the limb]
--> Additional notice re healing: If the torso or head is shot, the victim cannot be healed. This is simply skipped if the torso or head was shot. If a limb [right leg/arm, left leg/arm] was shot and the doctor successfully healed you, then you are amputated. If they failed to heal you and you were shot anywhere on your body, you are dead.
4. Lights On
5. Accusation/Execution Time
--> Additional notice re Accusation/Execution: If a person is accused via majority, they are eliminated from the game. If there is a TIE, the people accused remain in the game for another round.

Well, this was awfully convenient. This would be a really easy game to win if no one ever died. If they could find the murderer, though, Avis would be appreciative, considering it now seemed to be raining. It did have the nice effect of refilling her cup. She didn't think she was going to be getting any more water from Giovanni and she was still slightly suffering from that drink. While waiting for her cup to fill, she tilted her head upwards and allowed the rain to fill her mouth, which was strangely peppermint tasting.

Avis didn't really pay attention to any of the conversations in the room besides her own conversation with Giovanni, who apparently had no idea that he had tried to get Carlo fired. She hesitated a moment, unsure. You'd think Giovanni would have been at least told. Oh well. She was already knee-deep, might as well dive in. "You didn't seem to appreciate my methods, Moretti, you don't know what I teach but you try to give me advice? What advice, exactly, did you give me? I'm a middle school teacher. Which, by the way, it would be awfully hard to work with children if I was a murderer."

She turned her attention to the other argument ensuing between the apparently indestructible detective and Meiyu while keeping her focus on Giovanni. When exactly had this turned into Avis needed to defend herself? She had to admit, Carlo wasn't very good at defense, he was much too stubborn.

Once again the room went dark, and Mylo was happy to not feel anything hit them meaning they hadn't been a target of the killer, or that the killer didn't have that great aim and had missed.

It seemed like the second theory was actually true, although it hadn't been Mylo that had been targeted or the killer had even worse aim than he would have expected. But as Noah started reading out the suspects that had been voted for Mylo was surprised to hear that two people had voted for them. They weren't quite sure what they had done or said to have people be suspicious of them but it meant that they had to be a bit more careful of what they said/ did from now on as they were having fun and didn't quite want to be removed from the game yet.

What was also new was the fact that it was now raining, and Mylo found themselves not exactly enjoying that part but they could manage. Deciding that Mahlioz had the investigation under control for now Mylo thought it would be best to look for peoples reactions to the questions being asked, as that might give them some more insight into if they were maybe lying or at least nervous about some of the things being asked.

Sophia, played by Mylo, asked Alessio if they had any ideas yet. He was right- there were four people who hadn't been shot yet that could be suspects: Sophia, Maria, Carlo, and Luca. Rose nodded. "That's true," she said.

The younger girl finally spoke up, introducing herself as the mysterious Maria- the girl that Alessio had been looking for all this time.

Rose turned her gaze to Maria, too, who had said that she doubted anyone was seeking revenge. Rose shook her head, casting her gaze around the room. "From what I'm hearing, many of us have connections, and some of us hold grudges. Unless they're a psychopath who just enjoys killing, I believe there is some kind of motive behind the murderer's actions," she said, channeling her inner fancy, confident Luca Marino.

Alessio shared with the group that Maria had lied to them in a past investigation, and their next train of thought was obvious. If Maria had been able to keep things from Alessio in the past, what was to stop her from doing it now? Plus, keeping quiet was one way to avoid suspicion- the less you said about yourself, the less that people had to use against you.

It wasn't solid evidence, of course, but she doubted they would really be receiving any of that tonight, unless the murderer attacked someone in the light. It was a clue, at the very least, and because Alessio was the detective, Mahlioz's words held all the more weight.

Giovanni finally stood up to Carlo, with all her brooding and blaming. Rose supposed she couldn't blame the actress- she was simply portraying her role, and doing it well. He then asked what she taught, to which she shot back. She ultimately said that she was a middle school teacher, and claimed that it would be hard to teach middle school if she was a murderer. Rose shrugged- she guessed that was true for a serial killer. You would have to be awfully skilled at being secretive to teach kids and murder people in your free time. But they didn't know if this murderer was a serial killer or if this was just a one-time affair, so that evidence didn't really get Carlo off the hook.

The lights switched off, and as they turned back on, it started to rain, strangely smelling like peppermint. She looked to Noah for a second, trying to read his face but deciphering nothing. Was the peppermint or rain some kind of clue? Some kind of point towards the murderer? Nobody here was a baker or had anything to do with candy, as far as she could remember.

However, it could also just be for dramatic effect, or Noah getting bored from the lack of murders.

Well, things were starting to get intriguing, people actively engaging in accusations and information was flying around in the air. Maxi was attentively listening to the conversations back and forth, the “seeking revenge” theory growing stronger in his head. Rose seemed to have a similar idea, and looked confident enough to voice it. Maxi nodded approvingly as she had finished. “Indeed. I’d say Luca has a point.” There wasn’t much else that he needed to add, except for the confirmation that he, thankfully, had nothing to do with murders. Still not the time of bragging it, though. He’d just watch the ball of string rolling for now.

The blackout was slightly more exhilarating this time, when thunders rang and rain started to drop. Peppermint. He thought, much pleased by the faint yet pleasant smell of the liquid. Unusual, but thoughtful. Maxi had no idea whether this change had to do with the game, like if it was a clue or something like that, or simply Noah’s little magical trick. He’d soon decided he’d just enjoy this episode anyway, before anything would surface.

And now Carlo was rather huffed at Giovanni, claiming that she was a middle school teacher and definitely not a serial killer. Well, that sounded like a pretty good defend, but no one could say it for sure, could they? It seemed for now that three people were regarded as being suspicious - Carlo, Maria, and Sophia. The former two were understandable; both were confronted by individuals that were confirmed as trustworthy, but Sophia hadn’t really been involved in much of this; they had been relatively quiet and their own backstory not fleshed out yet. And why did someone vote for Sophia? The murderer, maybe, to keep themselves in the game? But there were actually two people? Was there anything still being hidden behind the scene?

Still no victims. Still no majority votes. Maxi scratched his head tentatively. There were clearly conflicts going on between individuals that could be the cause of the murders, and it seemed that things were slowly starting to get sort out. Yet Maxi still sensed something lurking out there, clinging to the veil that prevented them from getting to the bottom of the truth. What could it be?

Another blackout, another shot fired, another... wait. Had a shot been fired? She couldn't tell over the sound of thunder. Thunder? Why was there thunder? What on earth was happening? It was so dark.
Thankfully, the lights came back on again as they always did, except this time the room was slightly more eerie than before. A raincloud could be found above everyone, making it darker and more humid. And it was raining a little, too.

Mahlioz frowned. Really? What was this supposed to mean? It had to mean something, Noah wouldn't just soak them all for no reason. Then again, she didn't know him, he might be that kind of guy. And she was slightly exaggerating, she wasn't soaked yet. It just felt so weird to be inside but still rained upon. It smelled like candy canes, or toothpaste, something minty.

Alright, back to the game. They were the detective, they couldn't afford to get distracted. No one was hit this time, and though a shot had been fired, it was too far away from anyone to really know who had been the attempted victim. What's more, Noah decided to tell everyone what the votes had been. Mahlioz grimaced. How did they keep having even votes? No one was getting voted out, she felt like they weren't getting any closer to figuring out this mystery.

How were they supposed to act like a detective when there were no clues? Accusations and defenses were flying everywhere but there was no way to know who to believe and who was lying. Mahlioz had to admit they trusted Rose and Mylo, though that was most definitely just bias, as they knew them - although, Rose was being rather detective-y herself, which was helpful. That left, if you considered victims not to be murderers, Maria and Carlo. And, being Alessio, it was obvious which of the two Mahlioz was the most suspicious of.

Carlo was a schoolteacher. Giovanni had tried to get him fired. Giovanni was innocent, supposedly, since he'd gotten shot. That made Carlo suspicious. Their only defense was that they were a teacher, and that it would be hard to work with kids while simultaneously being a murderer. Mahlioz wasn't so sure about that - murderers had devious, clever ways - but Maria, being so quiet and clearly lying all the time, was much more suspicious. Or at least that was how Alessio would see it. He was a detective, yes, but he had biases too.

What Maria would say to defend herself was left to interpretation. All Mahlioz hoped was that she had said enough to convince the others Maria was a liar. Alessio wouldn't want her eliminated, no - they had been friends for so long. But he was rumored to be relentless, and Mahlioz felt like that came before all else.
