Quaffle Grabs
Reducio
Lucian pitched the quaffle once again towards the air. The excitement in the air was high, as high as the quaffle soared. He almost let his anger get the best of him as Acacia had performed such a vile foul play. Luckily it was just one mishap, and it wouldn't happen again... at least that is what he hoped. His heart soon sank as the quaffle sank back towards his hands, landing in his arms. Confused, and wondering what he was supposed to do, Lucian could only feel his grip intensify on the ball as he witnessed the next few actions that were to occur. Unfortunately for the keepers, there set actions would be met with no attempts from either side to score. Perhaps this was a sign to leave their goal post and play along in the chaos that was about to erupt.

Reducio

Mayhem was about to erupt on the play field. No one was focused on the quaffle any longer, and that was clear. This could only mean one thing though, the snitch was the real and only prize to focus on at this very moment. While teams fought and grudges grew, and the referee was only getting angrier by the minute. The only one's really capable of ending this game were the Seekers themselves. While both looked around, only one was capable of noticing the golden glint that reflected off their eyes as the sunlight grew in radiance.
Beaters
Reducio

Originally they were the only ones allowed to cause harm and chaos to the field. The only ones capable of harming other students without being held accounted or being in trouble. Trajectory, strength, hand-eye coordination, so much had to be taken into account to really be a skilled beater. Luck was a grand factor as well. It was clear Alliasta saw or perhaps even prophesied that she was to be a target. Her movements were swift with above par reaction time for her age. Yet, try as she'd like it was already too late. Meyra clearly displayed either better skill or perhaps luck, as nothing saved Alliasta from the lethal blow that pummeled her. A direct hit to the chest, loosing all strength to fall and land on the ground with a nasty thud. While the girl had originally planned to save anyone or everyone, one could only wonder who was there to save her? On the other side, while Eugenia had a rather splintered up broom and possibly still recovering from the first attack, she perhaps had a better sense of her surroundings now. Maybe that first hit changed her eyesight, because not only had she found the snitch but she also luckily dodged the second incoming attack. Aston clearly wasn't going to slow down or give the poor girl a chance, he had his target and he was set to finish the job he had started.
Fouls/Saves
Reducio

There was clearly a grudge between Elisa and Camilla at this point. Neither raised or reached for the quaffle, rather flying and focusing their eyes on various other players. Well, at least in Camilla's case. Elisa on the other hand was potentially out for blood, for revenge perhaps? Lucian could over hear the girls statement on just a penalty lap before attempting to blatch Camilla herself. Soaring above Camilla, perhaps Elisa's shadow or Camilla's natural sport instincts kicked in. Whatever it was, the two of them displayed incredible skills and reaction time to each other. It was possible their clothing, or even the straws of their brooms barely grazed each other as had Camilla not reacted even a millisecond sooner, she was certainly going to have fallen (both rolled natural 20's, Camilla's evasion was +1 more). Worse than a penalty lap? Yes, there should be something worse, to encourage and enforce the rules. Whether this was an official or unofficial match didn't matter, a rule is a rule for a reason. Lucian could slowly feel his anger rise. As he witnessed Camilla blatch back at the opposing teams beater, Aston, to perhaps protect her teams seeker after almost being blatched herself. Lucian couldn't help but need to enforce bigger punishments to both teams for their actions. Even though neither team suffered from the attempted fouls, they needed to learn their lesson. Before he could though, Lucian could tell something was rather off with the girl who saved Jess from falling to her death. While she descended down to let Jess get back to her broom, he could tell the way she descended that something was off. She wasn't in her right mind, or perhaps something else was wrong. Lucian honestly had the thought that perhaps the girl was poisoned before the match and even more cheats were involved. He angrily shouted for Delaney to be taken to the hospital wing after she descended and allowed Jess to return to her broom. Lucian had to think fast, and let loose some of his anger. He looked towards the stands of other cheering students, and took notice of one who had wanted to use the quidditch pitch after todays practice match was over. He called over towards the rather short 4th year @Avery Chen to take Delaney's place if he so chose to do so. However, due to his experience and skills Lucian dictated that the boy would have to use a school broom rather than his own for fairness reasons. (Check Rolls for why this has occurred and for Avery's stats. Discussion will occur where Avery most likely will only proform saving actions for fairness of the game).
Lucians Rage
Reducio
Lucian's tried his best to be calculative and calm. To keep up a facade to hide his giant nature from others. To let others know he was part-giant was still a slight fear of his. Yet, he couldn't always control the heritage that was passed down to him. His blood boiled a bit, and the strength and rage over took him. He grabbed an extra beater bat, and opening the quidditch match case he set loose two more bludgers onto the field. Both had magically returned to attack the one who freed them, but Lucian anticipated such an attempt. With his part-giant strength he slammed both bludgers at random individuals including Acacia, who was still in the middle of their penalty lap, and Maisie, who was clearly open by stretching her body out to cover all goals. Luckily or unluckily, both bludgers had missed their targets. However, it was clear based on the speed they were going that being hit by one was not going to be a pleasant experience. Lucian loudly shouted for both teams to here: "Rules aren't made to be bent! Don't expect any mercy from me from now on. Any continued fouls will be met with consequences to both teams!"

Things had been going poorly to say the least. With two players nearly knocked from the sky, Maisie decided it was time to take a calculated risk: nothing was getting past these hoops.

How to achieve this goal was up for the mental discussion in her head. But there was one idea—she'd seen it once in a photograph in The Daily Prophet—that seemed at once bold and effective, albeit potentially stupid. The newspaper she recalled had a keeper hang from their broom, sprawling out their entire body as a block for not just one hoop, but as many of them as they possibly could. Her small frame probably couldn't block them all, but she could try.

Her brown eyes flickered down to the grass, where Lucian stood. It was far down—

—really, really, far.

Swallowing, Maisie pushed that thought to one side for the moment. A moment like this required a creative strategy. And there could be nothing quite as creative as the starfish and stick. So, in a moment where everything seemed relatively calm, Maisie took the wood of her broom firmly in her right hand while extending her leg. Getting her ankle to hook just so around the wood was not the easiest thing and she feared someone might fly by while she was still figuring out this feat of acrobatics, but no one came. No one at all.

And just then, she thought she had it—or at least as good as it was going to get. With the deepest breath she could muster, she closed her eyes and let go on one side. The air streamed passed her fast on that side and then stopped. Blinking her eyes open, she was shocked to find she was staying in place. The blood rushed and her breath began to slow: she'd done it.

Perhaps the greatest thing about this was that she now had the very best vantage point in the entire stadium. It wasn't exactly comfortable, but there was no denying that dangling here was the best seat in the house. So, she saw everything as the tide began to turn.

First, she caught a glimpse of Eugenia around the track. Maisie gave her a thumbs up with her free hand, hoping she'd spotted the snitch and that she was, in fact, faring all right. Someone else—the crack of the bat was undeniable—wasn't. Maisie traced the sound to Meyra. Her eyes grew wide; it was incredible that a first year like herself could land a blow like that, knocking someone clear off their broom. "What a hit, Meyra!" she called. Out of the corner of her eye, she spied Camilla entrenched in a neck-and-neck chaser-on-chaser battle with Elisa. As long as no one fell, she was glad. Meanwhile, Maisie breathed a sigh of relief as Jess was returned to her own broom and an older boy she didn't know subb'd in. Delaney didn't look well so perhaps it was for the best. Maisie offered him a friendly wave as he joined the pitch.

Maybe it wasn't so bad up here after all. Maisie was very content spectating from all the way up here and she felt very prepared for the next attempt on goal. But she was not prepared for what came next. It was not one, but two cracks that filled the air in quick succession. Turning her head about to see where they had come from—surely Meyra couldn't be that fast—Maisie was quickly met with the iron coming straight for her. As the ball kept rolling and gaining speed, her eyes widened and she let out a little scream: "Aaaaah!" Her heart raced and her breathing quickened as she tried desperately to climb back up on her broom, but it was too difficult. She'd hooked her ankle over too perfectly. There was only one thing to do—

duck!

The seconds seemed like minutes, but eventually she blinked and reached up to check her neck and head were still there. Thankfully, they were. Squinting, she could see Lucian now had a beater's bat in hand. "What a right crabbit," she muttered under her breath as she reached up to try to undo these acrobatics. The boy she'd admired her first day at Hogwarts had gone from protector to reckless endangerment. And despite everything that was going on around her on the pitch, somewhere inside she desperately wanted to know why.

Avery didn't expect the tall boy to call him over to join the game, but was glad, all the same. "Me?" Avery asked, pointing to himself while scanning the stands around him. Apparently, no one else was here, so the tall boy was definitely talking to him. "Oh hell yeah!" he called out, a familiar excitement coursing through his veins -- one that he felt only when playing quidditch. It was a rush of endorphins he could hardly find elsewhere. The small boy didn't even mind leaving his Moontrimmer on the bench, and quickly snatched up the school broom left behind by the girl going to the Hospital Wing.

This was gonna be one hell of a game! "Quidditch training in its best form!" he said to himself, and kicked off a little too quickly in his eagerness, rising into the air to grab the stray broom and return @Jess McLeod to her broom. "Oops, sorry for the jumpy ride!" he apologized with a crooked grin, hardly able to hold in his energy. "But you've done this before, yeah?" She looked familiar, like maybe he'd seen her practicing with one of the quidditch teams. Once they reached her broom, he leaned over to hold both brooms steady, which would hopefully make it easier for her to maneuver to her broom.

| The hoops loomed behind Mamori like three silent spectators, while chaos unfolded across the pitch. "Hang in there, Alliasta. We’ll patch this up somehow!" he called out as one of their Chasers was still being helped off the field after that nasty fall, voice fading across the vast pitch. Their Beater had just whiffed what could have been a game-changing shot at the opposing Seeker, and Elisa was making her penalty lap after that failed Blatch attempt.

"Well, they're not making this easy for us," he muttered, watching as the opposing team reorganized with unsettling efficiency — they'd smoothly swapped out a player, another had retrieved her fancy Silver Arrow, and while Camilla was set to do her penalty lap, they hadn't lost anyone permanently from the game. The field looked more like a traffic junction than a Quidditch pitch, but somehow the chaos seemed to be favoring the other side. The only bright spot was seeing their foreign teammate's distinctive silhouette completing her penalty lap, ready to rejoin the fray.

Even with the pandemonium, Mamori shifted uncomfortably on his broom, fighting the urge to yawn. That last Bludger had briefly jolted him awake, but watching everyone's drama had his adrenaline already fading. Being Keeper was turning out to be less exciting than he'd imagined — one moment in the thick of it, heart pounding as he dodged Bludgers and protected hoops, and the next... nothing. Without a commentator to fill the silence, he just hovered in place, feeling like a dusty decoration in his tiny corner of the pitch, his bottom so rooted to the broomstick — 尻が根っこになるってこういうことか So this is what they mean by "your bottom sprouting roots", he thought wryly — like a prisoner in his cell watching the chaos beyond his bars.

His eyes wandered to where the earlier Blatch attempts had occurred — he could still picture the way they had collided mid-air, the raw aggression of it all. Despite Lucian's obvious disapproval, it had looked thrilling. Maybe that was the answer? Perhaps being Keeper wasn't his calling after all... or perhaps he should try his hand at Play the Field, join the ranks of Keepers who'd mixed up their game with a Quaffle grab.

Jess fidgeted impatiently on the back of Delaney's broom. D'you know what would've been a good idea? Not getting blatched. The lack of action made her feel as if she was stucj on the Hufflepuff bench all over again, but at least she was still in the air.

Just then, Jess was distracted from her complaining by a confusing sight ahead. Did Camilla just.. try to blatch Aston? And then a girl from the other team tried blatching Camilla at the same time! Before she could even process what she had seen, two bludgers came soaring through the air towards Acacia and Maisie, who both managed to dodge. "What a lot of dodging!", Jess remarked to Delaney, who didn't respond - she didn't mind being ignored, but something seemed off about the way Delaney was carrying herself...

As she descended towards the ground, Jess was sure Delaney wasn't alright, and it appeared Lucian had noticed the same. Once she had disembarked, Delaney was carried off to the Hospital Wing. I hope she's okay!, Jess wondered, frowning in sympathy. What happened to her? Jess supposed that it could have been anything, from performance anxiety to a malicious jinx. And who's going to replace her?, she thought suddenly, alarmed by their already-reduced pool of players.

But her question was quickly answered, as the Fourth Year, Avery Chen, came down from the stands. Avery! I watched him play on the Slytherin Quidditch team all year! Is he really joining us?

By the time Jess had returned to her Silver Arrow, it was clear Avery would in fact be joining them. Brilliant! Jess’ hope in their chances of success was restored.

Before Jess set off again, she spotted a body on the ground. That’s Alliasta!, she realised in shock. Meyra must have managed to bludger her! She felt mixed emotions at the sight of the girl lying unconscious on the ground. On the one hand, she sincerely hoped Alliasta would recover fully from the blow - I'll have to check on her in the Hospital Wing after the match… On the other hand, though, Jess couldn’t help but grin at the prospects of their significantly-improved odds of winning.

Quidditch is a brutal game, Jess thought, shrugging, as she finally took off. No time for sympathy on the pitch!

Eugenia did her best to try and do her job: find the snitch. It was her only job in this game. And she had to do it well, if her goal was to make her team win.

So, from the moment she took flight, the Greek girl looked looked around furiously to try and find the snich, it just couldn’t be seen at all.. Now she understood why it was so difficult to find that little ball of gold. And she was still untrained and unprepared for this, no less. The girl got a nasty hit in the head from a bludger and sighed. She had to to this quickly. The grimace of pain quickly faded from her face, as the the young girl resumed her previous search, more eager to find it.

The andrenaline coursed through her body, as the young girl’s efforts were rewarded. She saw a small flash of gold, and she followed the object’s wild flight with her eyes and broom. It was indeed her goal, the golden snitch. A soft murmur escaped her lips. It’s there. I see it… The young girl lifted her head and looked around at her teammates. Just in time, the girl dodged another blusher from the other team’s beater, and looked around as the other team lost a player. The girl smiled timidly. They had to win this. They just had to.

And it seemed that was everyone’s goal, by the way.
