Winner, winner! Chicken dinner! Scout snickered as her spell hits one of the Ravenclaw's spot on. Cass had called the names of everyone in the duel, but if Scout were being totally honest with herself, she had ignored all of the names until hers was called. What was she supposed to do? Not cheer and gleam when her name was pronounced with such efficiency and strength?!

"You guys are doing great!" As the only older student (besides the referee) she did have to tone her ego back just a bit, calling out cheers for both her team and the other team. Focusing on both being a good teammate and a good dueller was a difficult task, but she was always up to the challenge!

Duels didn't really just stop in the middle for everyone to catch their breath and plan lots, which Cass was just starting to realise. Before today they would have declared themself a world champion of talking lots and fast nonstop, and they were certainly glad for all the talking that they did now that they found themself having to do it professionally. "Ayumi is on a roll" they launched back into commentary "She once again points her wand in Lucretcia's direction, trying to set her on fire twice in a row!". Thankfully Lucretcia would avoid any more singed clothes, skilfully dodging out of the way. "Scout is next to take aim at the second year, but it seems her casting has failed her" was it against the rules to encourage the contestants? Surely not. And if it was, Cass didn't care. "Don't worry, there's always always next round and you did great anyway!" they shot a double thumbs up in her direction.

With all their chatter, they had almost missed Lemmy hitting Aria with a skilful Tarantallegra. "Aria joins Ayumi in dancing across the stage, this time with a rather elegant waltz!" they grinned "A brilliant shot from young Lemmy!". It was so nice to be able to call someone else young. They loved being a second year. Despite still blinking from the effects of the green sparks charm being thrown her way last round, Lucretcia was not done yet. "Hang on, Lucretcia is firing back with a Verdi... Verdimi... the green lights spell! That thing!" they should probably pay a tiny bit more attention in class. Lucretcia's casting was good, but there was no way she would be able to aim properly while still blinking from the light. Cass got ready to call a miss, then just stood there with their mouth open when it hit Ayumi straight on with some of the best aim they had ever seen. "Wow!" the surprise in their tone was evident to anyone listening in on the commentary "Lucretcia actually hits Ayumi! And really well too!"

Another round of spells would crackle through the air as the intense dueling continued. Lemmy had always envisioned the sport as single combat between two competitors, but having a team made it feel somewhat comforting and all the more wild at the same time. He whooped and hollered to encourage his teammates as they fought on, but when his own spell landed successfully he would be left looking at his wand in amazement. Had he really just done that as Aria's legs began to spasm uncontrollably?! "Wicked." Lemmy muttered to himself before preparing for the next action.

Troy stood transfixed at the scene before him, his two opponents, before he knew it the duel began. But something was wrong. He didn’t move, for once he was scared. Why? He didn’t know so himself. Rounds went on, he had left his teammate hanging. Eventually he got himself together. “Crap! I’m sorry I’ve never done this before!” He scrambled to think about what his next move was.

Cass wouldn't say that they were easily impressed. They weren't impressed by nerdy stuff like how many books someone had read or whatever goblin rebellion had happened on the 19th of whatever, but they were very impressed by all the duelists on the piste. Or at least the ones that were doing something. Lemmy, who was once again raising his wand in an attempt to drive off the birds, fit that criteria. "Lemmy is once again aiming for Aria!" they pointed towards the first-year. The Incendio he cast was impressive, and hit its target spot on. The flames didn't stick around, but they sure did burn. "Nice casting! Aria is hit twice in a row, this time with a firey Incendio" Cass said, as they continued to do their commentator duties. Turning their attention over to the ravens, Lucretcia's raised wand caught their eye.

Would she be able to pull off another miracle like she did last round? Apparently not. Whatever spell she had intended to cast failed spectacularly and backfired on her instead. Ouch."Lucretcia's cast backfires and now it's her who is dancing! Cass said as they watched the girl do a sort of weird spin-dance-thing. It seemed her crazy luck from her last spell had run out. And... That was it actually. A lot of the duelists seemed to be just standing there, or catching their breath. Oh well. Dueling was pretty tiring, but it wasn't very exciting to watch if everyone just took a break. Cass snapped their fingers. "Come on! It's not over yet!" they called out in an attempt at encouragement.

The magical energies continued to fly around the air as the young duelers did their best to tame such a wild ability. For a moment Lemmy thought he was going to be hit by a spell, but fortunately for the Gryffindor team the casting seemed to backfire on the caster and spared them for the time being. He took a deep breath and did his best to focus through the chaos for he had just witnessed what happened when your concentration slips. Much to his delight his wand would spew flames again as he successfully cast. Would it be enough to vanquish his opponent? Not this time, but at least it landed true.

Panicking, he didn’t want to let the team down in any way, but he already had. His absence in mind had proved so. How embarrassing. He scrambled over all but very few spells he had learnt. He took a quick breath and cleared his mind. He knew what he would do next.
