Disclaimer: I'm fairly sure this doesn't count as godmodding because this is what Professor Fresnel does in class for the second bit of homework. Also I did complete this bit of homework like a month ago and this post is not copied from my homework!
It was time for her second Charms class, and Eonaria was definitely excited. The first class, involving repairing and animating little wooden skeletons, had been super fun! She was fairly sure this one would be awesome as well. Eonaria looked around the classroom, her jaw dropping. She was a bit concerned about the stacks of pastries and large bags of flour and sugar. And some of the cakes were floating..! This felt a bit dangerous. Exactly what would they be learning? How to charm a cake into making itself? That seemed much too advanced for first years. How to levitate things into mixing together? That definitely didn't seem like a good decision with flour and sugar... And besides, why would there be completed cakes... unless they were from the previous classes? Eonaria headed to her seat with an impending sense of doom. She had a feeling things were about to get messy pretty soon..

As Professor Fresnel began to give instructions, pointing out the adorable wooden sous chef Petit Eliseo perched on her desk, Eonaria grinned and grabbed her notebook to start taking notes, beginning to write down the incantation for the Levitating Charm. Wingardium... Leviosa... oh, whoops, got a bit of ink on my hand- eh, whatevever, I'll fix it later. But just then, she heard someone speak.

The young wizard offered a smirk to the group he was sat with.

He was just over two weeks into Hogwarts and was just starting to find his feet. His first week had been an interesting mix of feeling like a fish out of water and nervousness, even he would admit that. He'd been much more comfortable in his second week though, breaking free of his shell and starting to settle into a group of Ravenclaw's that thought just like he did.

Classes were quite interesting, even for Rhys who didn't much care for school. Who didn't want to learn to cast magic spells? He'd taken to some classes more than others, potions for example he found he didn't really gel with. Charms though, he throughly enjoyed charms. Defence Against the Dark Arts as well, he throughly enjoyed casting magic.

Rhys had sat towards the back of the class, leaning back in his chair whilst vageuly listening to the professor speak. The floating cakes were a nice touch, very magical. Rhys was fairly certain from the bags of flour and sugar that he could figure out what they were going to be doing in class and he was fairly certain they would be using magic to make cakes.

"Making cakes, what is this, primary school?" he commented. He was quiet enough to hopefully not draw the attention of the professor but loud enough that those in the few rows in front of him would probably overhear him. He remembered making fairy cakes in primary, why was he making them in wizard school?

Eonaria was busy jotting down what happened to Jarleth Hobart when she heard another student mutter from the back of the room, a few rows behind her, "Making cakes, what is this, primary school?" She turned her head to send him a tiny glare. Even if the cakes did seem a bit silly, this was more about the magic involved than the actual cake! Suddenly, a small black chef hat flew across the room to land on Eonaria's desk. A quick glance around the classroom told her that the same had happened to all the other students. Whoops. Looks like she missed a bit of instruction after getting distracted by.. who was that... a Ravenclaw? A Ravenclaw!? He should keep his words to himself and pay attention in class! Eonaria was tempted to mutter her thoughts under her breath but decided against it.

Professor Fresnel declared that the task for today was to cast the Levitation Charm on the chef hat and make it float onto their heads. It seems easy enough, but controlling it to move in the air would be a bit of struggle... apparently, we're not going to be making cakes, but rather the pastries and ingredients are just here.. for.. decoration? To set the mood of a bakery? Eonaria puzzled over this now that her previous theories had been debunked. Just then, the professor raised her wand and muttered a few incantations, and Eonaria yelped in shock as a variety of desserts began to zoom from their neat stacks and fly across the room. She narrowly dodged a bright yellow cupcake, which missed and spattered against the wall. Yikes! Casting magic under pressure, here we go! At this point, Eonaria didn't really have the luxury to keep grumbling about that wayward Ravenclaw at the back of the room.

The young wizard caught the glare that was thrown in his general direction.

In response, he offered a smirk towards the young witch who had cast the look towards him. She was a young Gryffindor who seemed extremely focused on listening to the professor and less so on what was going on around her. Rhys assumed he'd upset her purely based on the look that was sent in his general direction.

Black chefs hats flew around the room for a few moments, landing upon the desk of each student. Rhys took a look at his and chuckled, poking it softly with his wand. It didn't seem overly enchanted and if anything else, it added to his working theory that they were going to be using magic to make some form of cake.

There was an explaination from their professor about the levitation spell, Wingardium Leviosa with a fair few food puns mixed in for good measure. Rhys actually listened for once, noting how it was explained which bit of the incantation needed emphasis in order to work. He noted those around him taking notes and wondered if he should have been taking notes himself.

Rhys listened to the professor as she explained that in fact they wouldn't be making cakes but would instead be using the levitation spell to get the hats to levitate up onto their heads. It seemed simple enough, but as with everything at Hogwarts it was further explained that there was a catch that the students would need to deal with.

With that, a dessert flew across the room. And a second. And a third.

The young wizard let out a smile. They were going to be learning to levitate hats whilst being pelted by food and honestly, it was a great way to learn. A cupcake shot towards Rhys, who caught it with his left hand and took a bite. He let out a laugh, loud enough to be heard around the room and turned his wand to his hat.

Eonaria caught sight of the smirk the Ravenclaw had thrown her in response to her glare. Whoops. Looks like he did see it after all. She turned back to her notebook with an annoyed grumble. Pompous tall guy. Perhaps she should figure out a way to get back at him. Unless that would be too petty for the first month of school.

As sugar and pastries began flying around the room, Eonaria grabbed her wand, pointing it at the chef hat on her desk. "Wingardium Leviosa!" She declared, waving her wand in a swish and flick motion. She dodged a stray slice of cake as the hat began to float. She directed the hat to land onto her head, and then heard the boy from before let out a loud laugh. So for good measure, Eonaria sent the hat flying behind her to smack the rude Ravenclaw in the face with a soft flumpw, inaudible over the yelps and sounds of frosting and flour zooming around and hitting everything. Eonaria laughed slightly to herself, beginning to join in on the fun now that she completed her task. "Merlin, this is definitely not academically focused!" I'm just practicing my spellwork!

She concentrated carefully, pointing her wand at a pastry on a table nearby. "Wingardium Leviosa!" The pastry began to levitate, slightly shakier than her chef hat, but still airborne. Eonaria directed it to land upside down on the boy's desk, where several more random baked goods followed, accompanied by a good shower of sugar. Did this count as bullying? Hm.. he'll be fine. It's cupcakes! In fact, Eonaria was fairly sure that everyone could get out their negative feelings by having a good food fight. She swiped a nearby chocolate cake out of the air and took a curious bite. Whoops. Too sweet. Eonaria set it down carefully. Oh well. It's a great projectile! She sent it flying across the room.

"Wingardium Leviosa"

Rhys put some confidence behind his words. His wrist moved with almost theatrical flair, an arc up as he swished then a delicate flick to the right to complete the wand movement. His chefs hat gave a wiggle as if it was going to move up onto his head, but it stopped when the young wizards concentration was broken.

Rhys cast a glare around the room, reaching up his hand to remove the stray chefs hat that had struck him square on the nose. It was clear where it had come from, the young Gryffindor witch who was missing her hat. It was the same student who had glared at him only minutes before, and he didn't actually know what he had done to upset her.

Rhys pointed his wand to his own chefs hat again, muttering the incantation "Wingardium Leviosa" as he did. This time, he managed to get the hat from the table and into the air before he was again distracted by a pastry which fell upside down upon his desk. Losing his patience some, he pushed it off the desk and pointed his wand towards a bag of flour in the corner.

"Wingardium Leviosa" the boy muttered, almost spitting the words as anger coursed through him. He wasn't entirely sure what he was thinking, he had struggled to get the hat on his head and was now attempting to lift a bag of flour like it was nothing. To his surprise however, the bag lifted a few inches before splitting and coating the entire corner of the room in the white substance.

Before he could celebrate however, chocolate cake struck him in the face and the feeling of excitement that he'd just lifted an entire bag of flour quickly changed to annoyance once again. He'd get his own back, of that he was certain.

Eonaria stifled a chuckle when she saw the Ravenclaw raise his wand to perform the Levitating Charm only for her hat to fly into his face, leaving him with a disgruntled look as he pried the cloth off of his face. He sent her an irritated look before pointing his wand across the room, thankfully not at her. Eonaria did feel slightly mean for doing this, but hopefully it would end up all in good fun. She was beginning to think she had overreacted a little...

Countless more desserts and baking ingredients flew across the room; Some were propelled by the professor, others by successful students, and still more simply being hurled around by hand. Eonaria looked around, seeing her classmates getting pelted by sugar and frosting. She laughed out loud, until a blast of flour hit her in the face. Squeezing her eyes shut, this only caused Eonaria to giggle harder. She was definitely on a sugar rush- and she'd barely ingested any! She sneezed some of it out, wiping her face with a wide grin. This was totally awesome! Deciding to abandon her proper levitating in favor of simply getting messy and grabbing everything within reach, Eonaria joined in on the class-wide food fight, where the ceiling and walls were already looking like an explosion occurred in a bakery.

She was very glad her brother wasn't here to witness this mess: not only would he be outraged at the state of their clothes, he would most likely drag her back to her seat and insist she behave properly. In the glee of the sugar storm, who cared? Eonaria looked around for her chef hat, which had been cast aside by the Ravenclaw boy, and probably ended up who-knows-where in the mess of bread crumbs and frosting on the floor.

The room was a mess.

It was to be expected, of course. A group of eleven and twelve year olds were having a food fight, it was only going to end one way. Flour and pastries and cakes of all descriptions lined the walls and the floors. The students were covered in smushed up cake and icing and sprinkles, a mix of hundreds and thousands of different colours. Many of the students had ingested more sugar than they'd ever been allowed in their lives and were currently riding some of the best sugar highs of their lives.

Rhys ducked under a flying muffin and watched as it stuck the wall behind him with a messy thud. The entire room had clearly forgotten the intentions of the lesson, levitating hats and had instead dissolved into one big food fight. Another pastry narrowly dodged the young wizards head, a satisfying squish following as it too connected with the wall behind him.

He wasn't sure if cake and pastry could cause lasting damage. He was hopeful that the professor had at least risk assessed that, however he was aware Hogwarts didn't seem big on the whole student safety thing. Floating, moving staircases and ghosts that seemed to just walk wherever they pleased didn't scream student safety to Rhys.

In the mess of everything. he saw the hat that had struck him in the face earlier and he closed his fingers around it, lifting it from the pile of cake and pastries in which it lay. He dusted it off just as he looked up and saw the Gryffindor girl looking for it. He paused for a few seconds. He decided he could either be cruel and keep it or return it to her.

Taking his wand from his robes pocket, he muttered the incantation for the levitation spell and watched as the chefs hat hovered just in front of him. He cast his eyes up to the young Gryffindor and shouted "Hey Gryffindor, you lost something?" in her general direction

When Eonaria turned to scan the floor for her chef hat, she heard a shout: a taunt from the Ravenclaw boy. She glanced up, her gaze landing on her hat, which was levitating in the air. She knew that exclaiming anything along the lines of 'Can I have it back?' would only result in either getting it flung back into her face or escalating further teasing. So Eonaria opted for a different response.

"Nice job! You can actually do magic!" Eonaria called back sweetly. "Congratulations." She waved her wand, jerking her hat out of his magical grasp. "Thank you!" She grinned, letting it float into her hands and tucking it away in her robes until she could safely return it to the professor at the end of class.

Gleeful in her small victory, Eonaria attempted to levitate a bag of flour. She carefully maneuvered it up in the air so that it floated above the whole class, with various other desserts bobbling around, lifted by both classmates and the professor. With a flick of her wand, the bag of flour split and rained fine, white powder all over the classroom like snow. Eonaria ducked her head with another giggle. As long as Professor Fresnel didn't get mad at her for making a huge mess(hey, she herself, and everyone else, is doing it too!), she could fling things to her heart's content.

Perhaps what Hogwarts really needed was some sort of physical education class where students could get rid of pent-up energy by throwing around balls. The Muggles got one thing right: dodgeball is fun!

He was actually going to be nice.

The young wizard had picked up the hat with every intention of returning it and had instead been met with sarcasm and an attitude that he wasn't overly appreciatitve of. Somehow, in the first few days of his time at Hogwarts he'd already made himself an enemy. He actually expected it would take a lot, lot long than it had.

Before he could even react, fine white powder flurried down from above as a bag of flour split above the heads of all those in class. He was already covered in icing of different colours and now he was covered in white flour as well. He was absolutely filthy and he didn't know the spell that would assist him with cleaning up.

Rhys shook his head, flour dislodging itself from his hair and coating the rest of the room. He rubbed some icing from the back of his ear and discarded of it onto his robes. He noticed a streak of green icing that was staining the front of his black robes, standing out like a sore thumb. He was almost hopeful that the class would be called at some point soon because he desperately wanted to go and get cleaned up.
