Oh, Hey There! PV Viviana De Santis Closed

Viviana eyed her plate, wondering internally what she would do with herself... I mean she was mostly here to learn, yes. However, her 'sickness' made it hard to cast and she felt like she peaked in her old country as a normal girl... now she actually had to consider things, actually had to think about friends, which ones to make and which ones to avoid. If only things were simpler.

Of course, she did know that it'd never be like how it was, she had to accept it and move on. With that thought, the same one she had since the school year began, she dug into her food. Eating politely was 2nd nature to her, and while most kids her age ate with no regard for civility, she made sure that she cut her food into sizable pieces, wiped her mouth and drank without slurping. She almost cringed at a
2nd year boy while he laughed, mouth packed with egg...she realized the face she was making and went back to a neutral expression. This is why you don't have friends.

She kept to herself for a moment but after a bit of sulking herself, she noticed a girl nearby not really eating, it was none of her business, but this could also be an opportunity, she bit her tongue gently for consciously thinking about making friends, but she didn't know how to approach otherwise.

"I cannot help but notice...you're not eating." She leaned over to the Gryffindor, hoping she spoke clearly enough that she wouldn't have to awkwardly lean forward. "Is something on your mind?"

IC Time: 8:43am, November 5th, 2024

Eonaria had finished her orange juice and was about to reach for a mini pancake when someone spoke from behind her. “I cannot help but notice… you’re not eating.” Eonaria jumped, letting out an undignified squeak and dropping her fork with an embarrassing clatter of metal on porcelain. “O-oh!” She turned around, attempting to hide her blush. It was a Hufflepuff from the neighboring table that had spoken, one with dark hair. The girl was leaning forward slightly, and inquired if there was something on her mind. Eonaria noted a distinct Italian accent.

“A-aha, not too much, I’m just not eating because.. I don’t feel like it, I suppose.” Eonaria coughed, regaining her composure. Sadly, that singular cough led to a rather violent coughing fit, which she desperately tried to retain normality by covering her mouth. When the coughs finally receded, she squeaked, “Yeesh, I’m terribly sorry about that. Don’t worry, I’m totally fine. What was the question? Wait, did I already answer the question?” Eonaria frowned, trying to think back. “…uh, anywho, thanks for.. your concern.. on my.. eating habits.” She made multiple terrible pauses as she tried to improvise some sort of regular sentence in an ordinary conversation. Eonaria felt like she was failing terribly at socializing this week; Of course her coughs had to return to exact their revenge right in the middle of a first impression! “Erm, if you don’t mind me asking, what’s your name? I’m Eonaria Kabukimono.”

Viviana noticed she freaked the girl out at first. She internally sighed at her awful first impression, she actually scared someone...

Viviana understood not wanting to eat, especially since she herself often got burnt out with the options, wishing she had something from back home. "I definitely hear that." She nodded sympathetically, hearing that single cough made her wonder if the girl was sick.

Soon that single cough led to a fit of coughing that made Viv back up a little, she had jumped out of surprise, wondering why the girl was now suddenly wildly coughing, she didn't know how to help people who were choking so she kinda looked around, hoping someone else would notice for her. When the coughing ceased and the Gryffindor was calm, she felt a bit relieved. "Buon Dio!" (good god) She practically sighed the words. "You're okay? Glad to hear it..." She still had a bit of lingering worry in her expression. What exactly was happening right now?

"Yeah... I think you already answered." she awkwardly replied, she was about to turn around, a bit troubled with this interaction until she heard the girl speak again. "Yeah, no problem at all, we all have to eat, yes?" She combed at her hair with her fingers, one of her sharp fingernails getting caught, she frowned at her hand before looking back at the young lion. "I am Viviana De Santis, nice to meet you, Eonaria." She dipped her head in a show of respect. "Sorry about all the questions... but are you feeling ill?"

IC Time: 8:46am, November 5th, 2024

When Eonaria admitted that she wasn't eating because she didn't feel like it, the other girl nodded sympathetically. "I definitely hear that." But when Eonaria began coughing, Viviana backed up slightly, looking shocked, looking around the hall as though asking for help. Eonaria noticed and subconsciously her cheeks burned a brighter red. The Hufflepuff sighed in relief when Eonaria quickly reassured her that she was fine. "Yeah, haha, sorry about that. Not the greatest first impression, you know?"

She cleared her throat slightly, nodding when Viviana introduced herself. "Ah, nice to meet you too!" Then Eonaria paused when Vivana inquired if she was ill. "Oh- no, not at all! Wait- hm. I mean, I'm definitely not contagious." She held up her hands in reassurance. "So I guess I'm not technically sick sick, but... yeah, I guess I am feeling just a bit under the weather today." She smiled awkwardly. "But really, I am totally fine." Eonaria looked around.

"So, are you a first year as well? How has your experience been at Hogwarts so far? I myself have been quite nervous. It's a really big thing to adjust to. Moving staircases and all that. But I find most of my classes are very enjoyable! Do you have a favorite subject?"

Viviana tilted her head, sick but not contagious, not too bad then. "Bless you, I hope you get better soon." She tried to think about what the problem may be while engaging. She looked around a bit before looking at Eonaria again, hoping, for the Gryffindor's sake, nobody noticed her.

"I am a first year" She nodded "My experience has been...eh...lukewarm..." She could not lie, she definitely did not start off the best, "...but I think that perhaps I am just getting used to the new faces. How are you feeling?" She nods, hearing that she didn't seem to care for the moving stairs. Viviana had a given a smile, as if she could relate. "Those stairs... my first few days I was almost always late!" She chuckles, a hand covering her mouth.

On the subject of classes, Viviana took a moment to think, "Well, I think maybe Transfiguration is speaking to me, it could really come in handy in a pinch, you know?" She thought about the other classes, rolling them about in her mind. "Defense is probably my least favorite, I don't seem to have the same... calling for casting that other pure-bloods do..." She huffed, tension in her voice, as if she were tasting the words before speaking them. "But Transfiguration is a bit more relaxed, I can sit back, you know?"

Viviana thought a bit, before finally asking. "So what is your favorite thing about school, if you had to say?" She subconsciously started swinging her feet.

IC Time: 8:48am, November 5th, 2024

Viviana nodded, describing her experience at Hogwarts as 'lukewarm.' Eonaria chuckled a bit. "Yeah, Hogwarts is pretty cool and all, but sometimes I wish there was a bit more adventure. I don't even know why I feel that way, cause I dislike danger, but group activity danger sounds fun, you know? Besides falling off of those dastardly school staircases. I wonder if you could sue the school if a whole class got injured from them?" She paused to ponder. "They could probably blame the magic, but the moving staircases are essential to get to certain parts of the castle..."

Eonaria turned back to Viviana when the other girl decided that Transfiguration would be useful in a sticky situation, but that Defense was her least favorite. "I agree that Transfiguration is pretty useful, but at the level we're at right now..." She grimaced. "I can't imagine a scenario where I'd need to Transfigure a match into a needle. I feel like only the theory about atoms would be useful to apply the concept in real life. And reversing Transfiguration, of course. As for Defense Against the Dark Arts... it's kind of interesting." Eonaria shrugged. "I prefer Herbology and Charms, myself. They're just more fun to me."

Viviana then asked her about her favorite thing about school, beginning to swing her feet. Eonaria copied her. This was nice. Wait, what was she talking about? Oh right- She cleared her throat before answering the question. "Ehmm, definitely finally being able to perform magic properly. But also meeting a lot of new people! School is awesome." She turned around to drink some more orange juice before looking back again. "What about you?" Eonaria paused to think again before adding thoughtfully, "Do you think anything particularly exciting will happen in our years at Hogwarts? It seems that in all the stories I've read, people are defeating dark creatures and discovering hidden things and going on missions. Of course Hogwarts itself is pretty exciting, but it might get a bit old after being here for years."
