Today was a big day. Probably a bigger day for the duelists than for Cass, but the short thirteen year old still looked thrilled to be on a stage, doing their whole co-captain thing for the very first time. They had been preparing hard for this day, by... Occasionally turning up at the dueling club to bother people. It was a good thing they didn't have to do any of the real work here. They still hadn't quite managed to weasel their way onto any of the sports rosters. But today wasn't about them! It was about the totally awesome duelists that were about to duel. They only knew a few of them, but that didn't put them off whatsoever. They would get to know them, by yelling out fun commentary while they were set on fire or knocked across the stage like Ragdolls. Awesome!
Speaking of the duel, they had to actually get up on stage and start it now. They jogged along, waving to the crowd excitedly. "Hi!" they said with a grin that looked to big for their face "Could all the duelists step onto the piste please?". They wondered if chasing any runaway ones was part of the job description. It was far too late for anyone to back out now. "Today, we have Gryffindor facing off against Ravenclaw. Most of our totally awesome duelists today are firsties, with the exception of our lovely lion Scout Fu-Hai!" they had written themself a little note with all the names on beforehand, so that they could accurately commentate on who fell over first "Joining her today, we have Ayumi Faeri and Lemmy LaRue, who may be tiny, but hopefully will be fierce!". Cass could certainly prove that height was no indicator of how well one could do their job. Although perhaps they were a bad example in that case.
"Over on the other side of the piste, we have the absolutely awesome Aria Wright, Lucretcia Voll and Troy Antony Lim!" they hadn't stopped grinning this entire time "Will they show the lions how its done? Or will Gryffindor wipe the floor with them? Only time will tell. Oh, and I hope you all know the rules! Because its to late for them now. Good luck and I hope none of you get set on fire!".

Ayumi takes a deep breath as she approaches the room where she will be having her first duel very soon. Yes, this will be her first ever duel and so she has to do her best.
Actually, best is not enough. Ayumi has to win, because why will anyone recognize her efforts if her team does not come out on top? She grips her wand tightly, going through the different spells she has learnt so far. It ignites a feeling of worry in her heart as her mind tells her that it is not enough.
It is far from enough in her eyes, but there is nothing she can do about it now. So Ayumi steels herself for what is going to come and opens the door. Her teammates are inside, and so are the opposing team's members. Putting up a small smile despite her inner worry, Ayumi goes over to her team's side to greet the others.

Even if she wasn't the best at dueling, she could still get competitive. She waved and cheered when her name was called, trying to spot Emily or Aston or Brook in the crowd before everything finally went down. Oh boy, she was so excited! As long as she didn't have to vomit slugs, she'd consider herself a winner.

Lucretcia stood in the locker room for a long time as she tried to psyche herself up. She had been reclusive for the past two months, focusing on her art and her studies and perfecting the few spells she knew to the best of her abilities. Her leg bounced anxiously as she pushed some of her messy black hair behind her ear. This was either her chance to prove herself as a talented duelist and maybe earn some respect and confidence.
She lets out a deep breath and her both goes still, her expression hard and focused. The time to worry was over, it was time to act. She walked out to where she would be dueling, dressed in her finest and sturdiest clothing with her Ravenclaw robes on over to represent her team. Little Lemmy was buzzing with energy as the time had come for his very first dueling match. The young lad had never expected to make the roster in his first year, but Hogwarts was full of unexpected things and this just so happened to be one of them. In his free time he had tried to get accustomed to his wand and remember the spells he had learned during the short time he had been at school. As nerve racking as that was, Lemmy was also full of excitement for what was to come. Just like his mother before him he was about to take his first steps toward becoming an accomplished dueler and win or loss he would be proud of himself for trying. With one final deep breath he joined his teammates and made ready.

Today was the day. It was Aria's first dueling match, not just at Hogwarts, but in her whole life. Aria honestly has never dueled before, but when she got to Hogwarts and started her new life, she decided that she would try something new.
It was a little scary stepping into the dueling club. Aria watched as the her opponents, the Gryffindors walked in to the room. Aria was very nervous and didn't want to let her fellow Ravenclaws down. But she was determined to try her best, and also have fun!

The duel was away with a bang. Or at least a variety of other loud noises as spells flew left and right. This was awesome. Right, they had to commentate this. They couldn't just stand there like a child outside a candy store. "Ayumi fires off a fiery incendio right away, hitting Lucretcia dead on!" they were slightly shouting, trying to make sure they were heard above the various noises that being whacked with different spells made "That's some really amazing casting coming from someone so young!". Not that they could really talk, only being a second year themself. Still, they would take it! They might only be older than one year, but they were happy enough not being the youngest anymore. "The lions show no mercy, Scout is targeting poor Lucretcia as well!" that girl really needed a nickname. "She is once again hit with room to spare!" they yelled.
"Next to take a shot at the ravens is Lemmy, who is thankfully giving Lucretcia a break" continuing the commentary, they pointed a finger at Aria "Will Aria do any better at dodging than her fellow bird? Apparently yes, but it was close!". Wasn't it about time these ravens fired back? As if answering Cass's call, Lucretica raised her wand. "Lucretica isn't letting being set on fire stop her, shes seeking revenge on Ayumi!" oh wow. Lucretica wasn't just seeking revenge, she was getting it. Cass was officially very impressed with her casting there. "Ayumi is now dancing a very happy little jig!" . It was a good thing Lucretica did so well, because both of her teammates were just standing there. Probably plotting some top secret strategy or something.

Lucretcia Squared up with her opponent ready for the duel to begin and then something she wasn't quite expecting happened and she got blasted with two spells from two students, both the one she was paired with and another. Fire splashed across her followed by an eruption of green sparks that dazed and blinded her. With a Grimace she Gripped her wand tighter and with a flourish and a shout of her spell she saw it connected, forcing her target to start dancing against her control.
She staggered some, patting away some loose flames with one hand before reaching up and trying to rub the flashing spots and stars from her vision. She swallowed hard, her body hurting but she didnt want to give up yet despite it all. she tried to focus her vision and continue on with the Duel.

Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw: Match 8
Lemmy's eyes went as wide as they could as the start of the duel kicked off. Never before in his life had he seen so many spells cast at once. Perhaps in class when they were practicing, but that seemed way more organized than the current display of magic. His little shoulders tensed up as a spell zoomed by him and he thanked his lucky stars it wasn't directed at him. Lemmy would audibly gasp in awe as he cast his own magic and fire erupted from the tip of his wand. However, he would groan with disappointment as it missed its mark. With a deep breath he refocused and listened to his teammates. Lemmy squared off and prepared for the next round.

The shouts of spell commands and the swooshes of wind as the spells materialize deafen anyone who is in the room. Ayumi winces but for a different reason. She was hit with the dancing feet spell, making her feet go wild in random directions. Fortunately, it didn't hurt as much as she feared and her incendio also hit its target. Their plan was going well for now.
With that in mind, Ayumi tried to ignore the movements of her legs, which caused more annoyance than pain, and prepared to cast her next spell.
