WC: 275Elias was really trying his best that morning.
It was notorious that the young Ravenclaw didn’t particularly like to stay put and go through whole hours of plain lectures with nothing else to do but listen, but at least in the other classes he could actually interact and try with his own hands - or better, wand - what they were learning. Unfortunately, History of Magic wasn’t one of those classes.
Only twenty minutes had passed and he was already running out of ink, obviously not due to the notes he was taking: in fact, not a single word on the lecture was on his piece of paper. Instead, the whole paper was covered in all sorts of doodles.
Animals, plants, stickmen, anything that crossed the boy’s mind had already been drawn. He might have looked pretty interested and focused on the lecture, if only it wasn’t for those doodles and both his legs trembling and shaking for the lack of movements and stimulation they needed. “Gah, I can’t do it anymore.” he mumbled as silent as possible. “It’s so. Boring.” he continued, letting a silent sigh out of his lips.
And as much as he wanted to step out and wander somewhere, anywhere but there, he didn’t want to get in trouble again. He had already got a detention, and it was best not to drive that kind of attention on him again, so he did his best to shut his mouth and try to focus on something.
His gaze started following the professor, then shifted to the other students, then it started wandering on its own through the classroom.
Only forty minutes to go, apparently.OOC:Reducio@Annaliese Callaway

─────Lessons. Annaliese despised them with every ounce of her being. It meant being cooped up inside for hours on end listening to the professor drone on about this and that and frankly, she didn’t see the point to many of the topics discussed. She reckoned she could be doing so many other, more worthwhile things with her time.
Perhaps the most useless class of all was History of Magic. It bored her to death, even more so than her other lessons. At least in Charms they were able to practice spell work or she could attempt to blow up her cauldron in Potions. But no, in this class it was just notes and endless instruction.
Rather than listening to the lecture - she had tried for the first five minutes and soon gave up - she occupied herself with braiding her stubborn curls, and then unbraiding, then braiding again. Quickly growing bored from that, she settled for folding her parchment into paper aeroplanes until getting a pointed look from the professor so she stopped. Letting out a huff of frustration, she attempted to pay attention once more.
Itching to stand up, run outside, do something, Annaliese impatiently tapped her leg underneath her desk, fidgeting with the rings on her fingers. She couldn’t even bring herself to attempt to take notes, her pent up energy slowly reaching its limit. She was sure she would burst at any moment.
Distracted by unintelligible mumbling - she almost swore it wasn’t English, but then again she could be hearing things - Annaliese glanced at the boy sitting next to her. Not recognizing him, she gave him a once-over. His robes declared he was a Ravenclaw, though his parchment full of notes could have indicated it easily enough.
Yet as Annaliese did another take, she realized his notes were actually doodles - in fact there wasn’t a single word written on his parchment at all. Upon further inspection, Annaliese marveled over the drawings, delighted that it seemed she wasn’t the only one bored out of her mind.
“Wow, you’re good.” Annaliese whispered, nudging him to get his attention and gesturing to the page. “What, the Gargoyle Strike not exciting enough for you?” She continued, her tone teasing.

WC: 298At least the doodling session was making the time flow a little bit faster, and after the first doodles the professor’s voice was too distant to bore Elias. He could have easily kept up with doodling some other pages, or maybe his book, why not? It was the perfect way to spend the minutes left until he was free again to wander and run somewhere.
The movements of his legs increased in speed as he was feeling the lack of movement more and more as the time passed, he even contemplated some sort of excuse to flash out of there for a few minutes, and return recharged.
He mumbled a few other things before the voice of a girl sitting next to him pulled him out of his thoughts, and placed him back in the classroom. He turned his head to see who she was: apparently a Gryffindor, judging by her robes. Elias had to admit that she had gorgeous golden hair, and she looked as bored as him. He didn’t remember her name, and probably he had seen her in some other first-year classes.
After a brief look at her, his gaze went back to the page he was doodling and she was complimenting. “Uh, thanks!” he whispered back, trying to not get scolded by the professor for talking in class. He then snorted and suffocated a small laugh, and shaking his head he replied “Of course it’s exciting! Can’t you see how much inspiration I got from it?” with a hint of irony and cheerfulness in his voice, as well as a quite pronounced Spanish accent. “What about you? What’s the result of your inspiration?” he asked back, meaning that he wanted to know how she was spending the time until that boring lecture was over.

─────Delighted that the boy had returned her enthusiasm, she snorted at his joke. Annaliese could already tell they would get along quite nicely. Shrugging in response to his question, she lifted up her half-folded paper airplane half-heartedly to show him. “I’m afraid I’ve not got much to show, just a head full of ideas and rings that are about to wear through my fingers at any moment.”
“Although, you’ve inspired me…” Annaliese grinned mischievously before attempting to smooth out her creased parchment, scribbling for a few minutes, before letting out a satisfied huff, holding it up for the Ravenclaw to see.
On it, was a portrait of their professor droning on, almost looking asleep - except very poorly drawn as Annaliese did not possess the least bit of artistic talent. Not to mention Annaliese had added an old fashioned monocle and a top hat - fitting for a history professor in her opinion - making for a very goofy looking drawing. “I’ll take my applause now,” She joked.
Before the boy could answer, the sociable girl spoke up again, excited to have someone to talk to. Hopefully the class would go by quicker, plus Annaliese was intrigued by the brunette. Most Ravenclaws she knew would’ve rather paid attention, or at least that’s what she assumed. She had only met one other Ravenclaw previously and she had loved studying, living up to the House stereotype.
“Is that a Spanish accent? Are you from Spain? I’ve always wanted to go there, or anywhere really. I’d love to travel to different places eventually. I wonder if they have exchange programs between the other schools. Probably not, but it’s a neat idea. I wouldn’t go unless they had Quidditch anyways. Do you like Quidditch?” Annaliese found herself rambling on in excited whispers, before catching herself, mentally reminding herself to let him get a word in. Besides, they were still in the middle of class, never mind how boring.

WC: 386Elias could already feel the time getting faster and faster as he kept whispering with the girl sit next to him, and occasionally looking at the professor to make sure they weren’t caught speaking. She looked like she was getting along with Elias’ enthusiasm and energy, and the young boy looked at her paper airplane in curiosity.
“I want to see it anyway!” he jokingly complained when she admitted she had not much to show. “How do you make them fly?” he asked about the airplanes, as he was probably too messy in the folding to make them precise enough to ride air.
On the paper there was a portrait of the professor, and even though it wasn’t particularly accurate it was still fun to look at, judging by the big smile Elias had on his face. “Wonderful! I’ll applaud in my mind, though.” he whispered, as he didn’t want to be caught making too much noise. Surely it was a great effort for him to not clap his hands, but somehow he managed to do it and tried to let the energy overflow in his words more than in his movements.
“I am! Although I was born here in England, then we moved to Spain, and finally we moved back to England. But I liked Spain more!” he explained brightly, always happy to talk about Spain, and almost dropped his ink bottle with an elbow while talking. “Oops, I’ll be more careful.” he promised with a snort. “Where are you from?” he asked while moving the bottle in a safer place, farther from his hands.
The next topic made him think for a while, curious as well about exchange programs, but sadly he shook his head and replied “I don’t think they have exchange programs, how bad!” sighing silently, as it was clear he would have joined one very happily.
Lastly, it was Quidditch time. His eyes brightened just by hearing the sport’s name, and not just metaphorically: it was a bit hard to see, but the boy’s hazel eyes rapidly shifted to golden just as he started talking about it. “I do! I, uh, kinda forgot about tryouts, so I’ll try to join the team next year. What about you? What’s your favourite team?” he yapped, trying to keep his voice down despite all.OOC note:
