Elvish Antics Preptober Prompts 2024
The Barbarian // Oct 1 - Oct 7
Write about an incident that would anger your character. Why would this make them angry? How do they deal with that anger?
Fardan isn't very easy to anger. It's a miracle that he could get angry with anything at all. In fact, anytime someone's looking at him, he's always 'smiling.' Perhaps this is his signature masking, a way to avoid showing his emotions during a stressful situation. Or he is truly always joyful in what he does.

But it can be revealed that while he has his human mother's ability to see the beauty in the world, he can still dish out his high elf father's wrath.

He got into a shifty, uneven fight with a full-blooded orc. He didn't win, given his thin meats for arms, but he passed the message regardless. His newly acquired girlfriend (or rather a long-time coming one, given their travels together as a group) is a half-orc.

Half-elves and half-orcs even being friends was a laughable miracle. In a relationship? Unforeseeable. Not even the gods would ever script such a thing possible in the fates of mere mortals.

But they exist.

And Fardan wasn't the happiest when an orc decided to mistreat her at the tavern they were staying at. And Fardan knows his girlfriend. Her ability to throw around creatures twice her size and she was already twice Fardan's height. Nothing phases her, except the mention of her own heritage.

That makes her tear up, and Fardan doesn't like seeing her tear up.

He didn't know what was exactly said to her as she came back with a miserable look carrying mugs for the group, but he already had a feeling when he saw small tears falling down her face as she moved to sit down with her crew. Their human cleric attempted to offer solace, unsure what to make of seeing their known fighter with a broken shell for once. Their drawf paladin fidgeted at his beard, attempting to figure out what exactly happened.

Eventually, she admitted miserably to the crew hearing the two orc mercenaries make a subtle comment, a cruel one at that as she walked by casually. The situation was unfitting; normally they'd have been out of the city by now without drinks and hungry because their beloved fighter just smashed someone's skull in by now. But no, she was quiet.

Before the dwarf can speak on the situation, Fardan was already one and swinging his small fists at the giant orcs. And a mess was assured, with the crew having to fix up Fardan's own mess as they're thrown out of the city not long after by its guards.

Fardan was a caked mess, laying by a fire as their human cleric fixed to heal Fardan during the time. The dwarf wasn't amused; it was constant with the group by now, but this time not because of their half-orc fighter.

Fardan had a sour face the whole time where he laid. His half-orc girlfriend given him a look of amusement before kissing his forehead and turning off to re-weave her newly damaged armor. Suddenly, it seems like his wounds didn't hurt as much, and he had a new smile on his face.

This time, a genuine one. And his anger dispelled.
