The rain from the morning had only managed to get worse. Only the second game of this year's Quidditch season, and it was already looking like a Mahoutokoro training session. How in the world anyone was expected to see the snitch in this dark deluge was anyone's guess.Link to Quidditch System: viewtopic.php?t=7504
But, at least the ground would be nice and soft when students dropped out of the sky for a landing.
The announcer slipped into the booth, complete with a lighted wand to make sure that his, surprisingly bare, feet didn't run into anything or step on something dangerous. Once inside, his messy black hair and unusually stiff moustache were dripping wet.
After a quick drying charm, he stepped to his position, and spoke in a suspiciously deep voice with a thick London accent.
"Arroit everyone! Bloody spiffin' wevver then, innit? Well, 'oo's ready fer anuvvah ferocious match, then?!"
(Translation: Alright everyone! Nice weather, isn't it? Well, who's ready for another ferocious match?!)
The deafening sound of the rain could not even hope to drown out the roar of the crowd. No amount of bad weather would be keeping Hogwarts students from watching Quidditch matches!
"Now vats proper wot I loike to 'ear! Lets 'ave us a smashin' wewlcome for our competin' teams: Gryff'ndor 'n 'Ufflepuff!"
(Translation: Now that's what I like to hear! Let us have an enthusiastic welcome for our competing teams: Gryffindor and Hufflepuff!)
The Flight Instructor walked out onto the court, threw the Quaffle in the air, blew the whistle, and all hell broke loose.

After all this time, the day came that Eugenia would take part in her first ever Quiddich match as First string chaser for the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team. It was a surprise to her parents when she told them she applied. She always seemed to enjoy duelling much more than broom sports. But, well, snatch your opportunities kid. And now, she’d play against Gryffindor, whose team was indeed a fine one.
She walked beside the other chasers as she looked around the pitch. Oof. This was going to be a difficult match. Looking around, she eyed the other team. And then hers. She’d listen if there was a speech or anything, the encouragement was much needed. The young Greek girl pulled the cross around her neck once and the other necklace she had, a good luck charm from her parents, before adjusting her glasses which had been charmed against the rain. We can do this people! Pave the way for victory! She prayed once and got on her broom.

Wow. Unfortunately, not exactly a happy wow. Jess couldn't deny how excited she was to finally be part of an official Quidditch match, against Gryffindor no less! But the weather could definitely be a bit better... She could barely hear her thoughts over the rain that was pummelling down, leaving Jess feeling exhausted, and by the looks on her teammates' faces, they were feeling the same way. And all she'd be doing was sitting on a bench the whole time!

That was another thing... Jess felt so agonisingly close to action, and yet here she was, sitting on a bench of all things, freezing to death in the pouring rain. Of course she would never wish ill of her teammates, but if any of the chasers just happened to be unable to play, she would be up and at it in a flash.
Regardless of what Jess felt about sitting on a bench, she'd made it. Here she was, in a Quidditch match, just like her mum all those years ago. Jess could still vividly remember who Abi would so ferociously bat the Bludger towards the opposing professional team chasers... Good thing I won't be playing against her!
At that moment, Jess was filled with a wave of sadness. Jess would do anything to spend more time with her mum, even if that meant being blown across the pitch by the force of her Bludger hits. I miss you, mum. This is for you. Jess clenched her fists and looked up to the dark sky, hoping against all hopes that she'd be able to prove herself to her mum today.

┌ ┐ The anxiety of going down to the pitch never seized to throw Alyssea off her game. Truthfully speaking, she hadn't trained for a while during the summer (I mean, did you expect her to? She lived in Muggle England, after all) and her performance during training when they did come back to school had been decent at best. Considering there were a few younger beans on the team now, she had to set a good example.
Alyssea turned to look at her teammates, making the eye contact with the few who stayed and nodding in acknowledgement. She sighed, then got on her broom and kicked off. "Let's get this party started."└ ┘

Landon felt the rain pelting his skin and hair and he shivered a little as he walked out to the Quidditch pitch. The rain was really coming down and Landon had to blink a little to get the rain out of his eyes. His blue eyes scanned the pitch. It would be a messy game, very wet and miserable.
However, Landon was excited for the match anyway. He might be sitting on the bench as a second-string Keeper, but he still loved the sport and looked forward to each and every match. He still hat butterflies in his stomach at the thought of being called to go out on the pitch. He didn't want anything to happen to Atlas and, while he had been training to do his best, he wasn't super confident that he would be able to live up to the team's expectations.
Landon took a seat on the bench, smiling softly at his teammates. He hoped that the match would be a good one and that people wouldn't get too injured. He looked at the team as they all prepared to start.

It was raining. Sage's hair stuck to her face and flew back every time she tried to adjust it. Oh well. Her prosthetic was waterproof, thank God. But she still hated getting it wet. Hopefully the match would go fast so she and everyone else could get out of the rain.
Sage took her place on the bench, lifting a hand to shield her eyes to see. They were up against Gryffindor that day. Like she had been last time she tried Quidditch. They were a strong team, but hopefully Hufflepuff had gotten stronger.
Sage squinted out into the field and muttered, "God, I hope we win."

───────────────────────────────────Squinting through the downpour towards the pitch ahead, Avery can feel that familiar mix of excitement and anxiety that always heralded a match swirling in her chest. Turning to face the rest of the team, she offers up bright smile as she slicks wet hair back away from her face so she can see. "Alright Badgers, we've trained for this. Stay safe and keep a tight grip on your broom, don't want any avoidable injuries up there, yeah? We know what we're doing, so get out there and have some fun!"
Taking a deep breath to try and even herself out, the third year mounts her broom and darts out across the pitch. Taking up her position above the field, she takes a moment to fit her goggles into place and observe the Gryffindor team through the rain. Tes was never more thankful for her habit of wearing bandanas to contain her hair than she was now, as the drenched fabric kept her equally drenched hair from creeping into her eyes and blinding her as she walked onto the field. She grinned, bouncing on her toes as she listened to Avery's short speech. She let out a whoop as she finished, readying herself to launch into the sky, bat clenched eagerly in her left hand. "Let's have some fun!" she hollered to the rest of the team, waving happily at the opposite team in an eager greeting.
Despite the weather, she was as light and joyful as she could be. There was nothing like flying terrifyingly high in the sky and trying to hit other people with bludgers while trying not to be knocked off yourself to make all your other issues disappear, after all.⭑☾☀☽⭑

While Ethen was always excited for a game of Quidditch, there was nothing better to get the adrenaline going than some nice rain added on. Sure it would make finding the snitch a hellish proposition but he enjoyed a good challenge. His usual concern of actually surviving the game remained. He knew strategies were usually focused on trying to eliminate him at some point. So the faster her could get his eyes fixed on the snitch the better.
Moving into his position and welcoming the embrace of the rain, Ethen let his body calm. He shut his eyes to enter a fake meditative state. It was his new intimidation tactic. There was nothing more alarming than a seeker who had become one with the weather. He cast aside his normal bravado and taunting cheers. "We are one....oooooooommmm ooooooommmm," Ethen dramatically chanted as he sat atop his broom with his eyes shut, waiting for the game to begin.

It was a bit of a contrast from the last couple of years, but a new year merited a new approach. Especially since the last couple of years hadn't been as successful.
"Ok lions!" They clapped their hands, trying to catch the team's attention. "We've worked hard, we've trained hard. Maybe not for this weather, but we can't let that stop us now! You guys know what you're doing, I have full confidence in you!"
After letting Ethan make any of his own remarks, they smiled in agreement. "GO GRYFFINDOR!"
