Prat had been doing more duelling than moderating for a long time now. With the obvious knowledge that beginning of school year would only be followed by duelling seaon. He wanted to test the current experience among his duellists and see how they would fare against as well as with each other before even getting to other team. Teamwork afterall was a crucial part of duelling and he wasn't about to send these kids onto the frontlines with no previous moments of Piste trauma.
It was obvious they would do better in actual duels if they had experience of being set on fire or blindfolded or perhaps even knocked back previously. He had even roped in a senior to moderate it, someone who Prat had met earlier and now had become sort of friends with.
Seeing the fresh day approaching, Prat set out onto a walk before making his way to the club, feeling the gentle breeze through his face. Prat was ready for another duel. This has become a habit now, getting into a duel somehow every week and yet his thirst for Duels did not stop. This was however his first duel in a 3v3 situation where he would have to work with a team and strategize instead of simply making things up as he went.I N F O R M A T I O NGood luck!

Sometime Duelling Club“English” “Gaelic”
Alyss huffed, feigning minimal interest in what was to come. The young girl had signed up for the duelling team almost immediately upon her arrival to Hogwarts, have heard about how cool it was- and that sentiment wasn’t going to be changed anytime soon. Alyss had been put on the waitlist, something she wasn’t too keen with, but it hadn’t surprised her.
Soon after she had made herself busy around the castle, duelling having begun to slip her mind to make way for all the new things: homework, friends, tricky social dynamics. It was all very tiring, and much of the time required Alyss not to actually cast a spell but perhaps study about the spell for a good long while before being given the chance to use it.
And outside of class? Alyss rarely used said spells! Of course a couple came in handy when she was running late and didn’t have the energy to open the wardrobe, or took the opportunity to float her books into her lap. She used her wand as a nightlight, when she woke up to frightening nightmares. But those weren’t.. quite as fun or energizing as tossing spells at moving targets, that were actively trying to avoid yours, and hit you with their own first.
Duelling satisfied an itch Alyss couldn’t quite get at otherwise, and oftentimes she found herself peeking glances at the duelling club doors, and marveling at the trophies. It called to her, so once given this chance? To be in a 3v3 match with other Slytherin duelists or want-to-be duelists? It was thrilling. Alyss had of course accepted the proposal right away.
It filled Alyss with adrenaline merely thinking about it, but she didn’t want to be the only first year who also happened to be bouncing up and down with joy from this opportunity. No, she was going to act normal, and actually focus. She would win. Was this her competitive side speaking? Absolutely. Was she still determined to win this, regardless? Of course.
“We got this, team!” Alyss said aloud, a smirk finding its way onto her face.

As Elisa strolled along the corridors at a quick pace, she fumbled the spells she had learnt over and over in her head. Attack spells: Tarantallegra, Incendio, Flipendo... She ran the list of duelling spells - the ones for attack, she now came to, twice in her head. When it came to duelling, she knew she had to act quickly in between the spells her opponents would be launching at her, and that was why she was revising the spells in her mind - she would not, could not afford to hesitate one second when it came to the duelling match.
In her first year, Elisa had signed up for the duelling team, and only just recently, had she been accepted. Since she and a few others were entirely inexperienced in terms of duels, one of the co-captains had set up an Unofficial Duel, just to get them used to it before the actual duels against other houses.
Facing her very first duel, Elisa was excited alright, but also terribly nervous too. She had heard about the injuries one risked when it came to duelling, and her only reassurance was that they probably were all too inexperienced to truly cause harm - at least, she hoped so.
Heart pounding, the young Slytherin approached the big, oak doors leading to the Duelling Club. She reached out a shaking hand and pushed them open. A boy, the organiser of the duel and Slytherin duelling co-captain, and a girl she had never met before, were already there. With hesitant steps, Elisa walked to them, a nervous grin showing up on her face.
The girl was probably one of her teammates - from the names on the list, Elisa had noticed that one team consisted of boys only, and the other of girls.
"Hello! I guess we're on the same team?", Elisa addressed the girl, breathless.Action(s):

When the captains of the Vipers suggested an unofficial duel to practice for the season ahead Matthew couldn't have been more over the moon. For it was not only an opportunity to finally bring all the work he had been formulating to fruition but a chance to meet some of his fellow squad members and adapt to the strategic workings of the team based sport. Throughout his life Matthew had always been independent and he valued the resilience it brought him but deep down he always wished that he wouldn't forever be the last picked, he wished for the homely warmth of belonging to something bigger than just him.
As he entered he duelling club the energy in the air was palpable with anticipation and excitement. An aura of friendly rivalry on the faces around him showed that while each Viper was taking the task with the seriousness it demanded the skirmish was void of any real hostility. After all when it came to the real duelling season each viper would be all the others had and they had to trust each other with every ounce of being to have their back, and now seemed as good a time as any to establish such trust.
Paired with the familiar captain Prat and another second year he had seen in passing in the Slytherin common room Matthew watched with keen eyes ready to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of their formation. Despite a thirst for classic literature being a key note of the young Snake's composition 'The Art of War' had never been considered high on his priority list but now he felt drawn to it and made a mental note to ask home for a copy if the library itself didn't have one. Now, however, it was time to forget about books for the knowledge he needed was practical and so with steadied arm he drew his cherry wood wand and narrowed his attention to a pinpoint focus.
Whatever happened this would be a most valuable learning experience, winning or losing mattered little to him for often in failure we find the key to success. If he had to fail one thousand times to win once he would time and time again. To give up would be the only true failure. So eyes fluttered with friendly wonder he smiled upon his allies and competitors and with the slightest mania in his tone he said "This is going to be fun, don't hold back on us!"

Parselmouth is in bold black.
It mattered not to her if she won. After all, despite her tough upbringing she understood to a certain extent that winning wasn't all that mattered. She was here for a far more valuable prize. Kiana made her way to the duelling club, and though her cool, collected visage hid most of what she was thinking, her excitement was palpable and undeniable. She walked with swift, long strides that gave of an air of elegance. She felt majestic. lmao Though she didn't know who her opponent was going to be (she would have otherwise prepared some tactics in advance), she had plans. Small plans, at least, that should help her during the duel. Simple strategies she'd learnt before that she thought should work for duelling.
As she entered the duelling club, a couple of others were already present. An older boy who she assumed was their moderater, the captains and some younger years. She waved to them, smiling cordially before setting her stuff down and joining them. She had only her wand in hand, ready for the next instructions. She scanned the group quickly, noting their wands and appearances. She held herself tall, her hair swept into a high ponytail that fell to her waist.
"When do we start?" Kiana asked, seemingly addressing the group.

Ernest sauntered to the dueling room, his wand hanging loose in his hand. He had agreed to the duel only because Prat seemed to be content with being knocked on his ass more times than Ernest thought he could really handle. The two had ended up near each other in hospital wing beds more than once, and Ernest guessed being his friends meant weekly visits to the place. He just hoped he wasn’t in there more than his actual bed by the end of the year.
Prat had already rushed ahead to the room, wanting to size up the competition he would bet. Ernest didn’t see the reason to be there immediately, they wouldn’t start without him.
When the part goblin did reach the room, he saw that it was a boys against girls type of thing; or maybe it was an accident it happened like that, but he didn’t know. Nor did he know who his opponents were. “Sup random people plus Prat,” He said as he made his way to his team. He yawned as he parked himself by Prat, knowing that he would do whatever felt good at moment's notice, until the game looked interesting enough to actually pay attention to. “Let’s start this thing shall we,” He mumbled getting into dueler's position.

Ra Ra RahahThe young man entered the duelling room to see people lined up already. Well, despite there being someone moderating the room present, he figured he'd at least watch and keep score in a way to try and ensure that it was a fair game. He had duelled.. unofficially and had duelled one game officially. Both times, he sucked, but he knew that at least observing the games were beneficial to learning how to boost strategy.
His eyes went wide when he felt like the room was going to burn down what with all of the bloody incendios being cast. "GUYS! I don't want to die in Hogwarts!" He yelled, especially when two people missed their shot casting the stronger variant of the firemaking spell. Now, one decided to be unique and cast the tickling charm, but to no prevail and Noah couldn't help but feel pity for them.
He continued to stare on, wondering if the game would get more creative, more violent or if he would end up being burnt in this castle. He didn't want to be a roasted chicken, not yet.
He decided he'd go ahead and try to cheer on the team, but he wasn't sure what to say exactly. "Come on guys! You can do it! Beat their butts! WIN THIS MATCH! Go snakes!"

Parselmouth is in bold black.
She certainly couldn't have anticipated that everyone would suddenly point their wands at her. Oh lord. She managed to fire out a few spells herself, but overwhelmed by flames the were ineffective at best. Her opponents were a force to be reckoned with, especially since most of them went after her? Why...why...
At this rate, she wouldn't last long. Through the piercing heat she lifted her wand again, prepared to cast another spell. Even if she did get eliminated, at least she'd know that she'd put in her all. Besides, there were always opportunities to improve. This was tougher, since it was a four-way duel. So she could forgive herself.
Wincing in pain, she readied herself as others were also recovering from their respective hits. She made a mental note of who was especially slippery - those who'd evaded her before. She had to be quick: now was the perfect time to strike, given most were still recovering. If she let slack her grip on her wand and let slip this opportunity, she'd lose in a showy, embarrassing fashion. Flames still licking fervently at her heels, she could barely hear herself as the incantation escaped from her lips.

(2)Three Musketeers and a Lion

Finding himself staring down the very point of the wand of the target he himself chose while both hurling torrents of fire could be described in many ways, yet to Matthew the only word that encompassed was exhilarating. Luckily born from a life of living in his own head his body was well trained in moving without any mental influence and that was the only reason he had managed to dodge such vicious fire from engulfing him. When his brain eventually caught up it was delighted surprise that filled his consciousness as realisation that he had not become ash set in.
The same could not be said for the dark haired girl that had been identified as their team focus. How they had even managed it Matthew wasn't sure but between the three boys all but a look had set the plan in motion. However, a battle was never over until the very end and so gripping his wand once more he tried to quiet the noise of the battle surveying every duellists strengths and weaknesses and listening to the magic inside of him. With a quick smirk to his team he readied his next move mulling the incantation over in his head to make sure he got it to a perfect precision. A duel could turn at any moment and focus was imperative so visualising his intention he turned in a ready stance poised for his next move.
Whatever happened fun was still the most important factor and the young snake couldn't help but let out a shy chuckle to himself while looking longingly at his wand. Despite the somewhat aggressive nature of duelling Matthew felt only invigorated by finally being able to prove his worth, to whom he wasn't sure but at least he was doing it.

Taking a deep breath, Alyss tried to calm her mind. Her brain was racing, flicking between trying to come up with a good strategy and trying to make sure she didn’t seem too nervous. She shot a smile at Elisa when she said hello, giving the girl a friendly nod.
Alyss felt her body light up with adrenaline as she cast, her mouth speaking the incantation as she flicked her wand without any second thought. It came naturally, and Alyss was just relieved that her success in charms wasn’t just beginners luck. She watched as the spell streaked towards Ernest, eyes solely on it.
In hindsight, this probably wasn’t smart, considering that she should keep her eyes open to dodge any spells thrown her way. But once the dust cleared, Ernest looked a little worse for wear, though had no lasting flames from her Incendio. She glanced at the other side, seeing that the other two had gotten away without a scratch.
This wasn’t what Alyss had been hoping for in a first round. And then it got worse. Shifting her gaze to her teammates, Alyss winced at Kianas condition. She had to have been hit by at least two of the flame spells, seeing as the fire was still dancing along her clothing.
Seeing that Elisa was okay, Alyss was happy for one thing at least. “You okay?” Alyss asked Kiana, still hoping that she could last a little longer, but she wasn’t looking great. This wasn’t looking perfect for the three girls, but Alyss refused to give up. They could still turn this around.
Swiveling to face the other team, Alyss’ eyes narrowed as she selected her next target and lifted her wand to begin the next round.
