For someone who didn't have many Slytherin friends, she sure as hell had many of them knowing her name. Most of them were underclassmen, which was also a crazy revelation to have. While Third year was technically still classed a junior under the Duelling leagues, she was now old enough to have younger students come up and ask her for advice. Or moderation. Alyssea didn't mind either; with how spread out she became in the last year, she knew a lot of what the school had to offer, including sports.
This duel would mark the second time Prat had ever asked her to moderate. The frequency he was duelling reminded Alyssea of her cousin. Raizel had used these to better herself at the sport, to prove something until it got too much. Was Prat in a similar boat?
It was another Slytherin he would be up against. At this point, Alyssea would jokingly call herself Slytherin's half-sister. Her father would laugh at that one, for sure, as a Slytherin alumna. Her brother... not so much, she thought, since Slytherins always had an unfavourable reputation. But Alyssea couldn't care less about houses unless it was sports. They all took the same classes together and the House Cup wasn't as big of a deal as the sports cups, in Alyssea's mind. Everyone was an equal until they were on the battlefield.
Anyways, as the two snakes entered the piste, she gave the basic rundown as normal. "You guys are free to throw spells until either one of you drops or forfeits. Physical attacks are not allowed, only spells. Simple enough." She waved her hand and left them to start. Hopefully this would be quick. She had broom racing stuff to do.

It had been nearly a week from his previous duel and the other game he had started before Prat found himself on the piste again, with another snake, with the badger Satan modding his duel again.
This time however it wasn't against Ernest who was excited for the match up but rather Aleksandra. Prat got acquainted with her during the summer camp and then did not look back. Aleks still seemed cold which Prat just deemed as her personality and proceeded to not give it anymore thought. A month into school He convinced Aleks to duel him.
Prat had no read on what Aleks duels like or what her mentality would be, atleast he wasn't about to get cracker jinxed.
Stepping onto his spot and getting his wand ready. Prat had more of an idea about his strategy and quick changes he might have to make during this one then his previous duels.
He to some extent had figured out his spell list he but was yet to finalize a signature opening for himself. His previous one that he'd made his signature starter unconsciously felt like a dumb choice as he looked back on it and considered what he was even doing in those moments or what was going in his head.
Prat wasn't a man of many words, specially before a duel as he nodded a "Hi" to both Alyssea and Aleks before taking off his robes, not wanting to have them toast like last time he stepped up.

This first set of spells was alright, Alyssea would say. They were classic openings depending on your strategy, though Alyssea wouldn't have used the blindfolding spell in Duelling as much as she would in Racing. Catching an opponent out mid-flight did more damage than throwing a blindfold out and then letting the dust clear for the next set of spells. Then again, Alyssea hadn't done many duels, so the combos she had were biased towards damage rather than debuffing.
It was a shame nothing hit, but Alyssea had more pressing matters to attend to as Aleksandra's knockback jinx flew right to her.Alyssea squeaked and scrambled to the side, not wanting to get punched in the gut. She was just here to watch! Frankly, Alyssea didn't even get paid for any of the shenanigans she had to put up with the Duelling Club. Had this happened on the racing track, she would've just laughed and dodging on a broom was easier. On land, she had to contend with potentially tripping over her own feet.Critical Miss Re-Target t!choose wall | alyssea

"Take care of your aim! I can't moderate if you guys are just gonna take me out," she chuckled. If that knockback jinx had hit... Alyssea could feel a headache coming before she could even consider the outcomes.

Prat's first spell had missed miserably again, this was becoming a common occurrence nowadays which was worrying enough for Prat. Aleks managed to successfully dodge his obscuro, the duel would have became so much easier had she fell for it. This was now becoming a usual habit where Prat seemed to somehow always miss his first spell, green sparks charm in the earlier duels and now here.
Scurrying around after his missed spell Prat saw Aleks preparing a flipendo to send his way, luck however had other plans as she missed her aim so bad and it ended up being misdirected towards Alyssea, which she dodged easily.
Prat had no idea this was something doable or the moderators could be attacked, he just thought there would be some auto charm on moderators to protect themselves. Alas seeing it successfully evaded was a good sight. However a round had passed and no changes had come to either of the participants. Prat wasn't looking forward to drag this duel out a lot longer than necessary.
With how duels usually went Round 2 was about to be what Prat predicted but he also feared if Alek's unfamiliarity with the sport might mean her actions be out of the box and thus rendering his plan of action completely useless. Wiping the sweat from his forehead Prat Prepared for the next round, This is fun he told himself reminding him why he ended up there seemingly every week.

The second round curse Alyssea had suffered for countless duels now had finally been broken. Nobody was doing a little dance to the left or right and finishing with a quiet and boring round. Instead, it was blue flames against orange flames... if the orange flames ever materialised in the first place.
Prat came out with the second (and stronger) version of the Fire-Making Spell, one that was sure to keep the opponent's clothes aflame and cause more damage in the long run, if the blue flames were anything to prove. Blue flames were always stronger than orange flames. Aleksandra had been a hair away from dodging the fire but something must've caught her eye and distracted her in the process.
Not only was Aleksandra now aflame, but her attempt at the Fire-Making Spell sputtered and disappeared into sparks of nothing at the tip of her wand. Alyssea grimaced. A failed spell was a rare thing. But when it did happen, it cost you a lot of damage. What could've solidified your position flew out the window and left you scrambling in ashes, pun very much intended.
For what it's worth, no one looked like they were going to drop dead just yet. Slytherins had a lot more fight than Alyssea gave them credit for.

Prat was determined to end the infamous second round course, even in his own duels previous rounds ended up with second round being either evasion kind of buffs. Not this time however,as Both Him and Aleks decided to fight fire with fire as they both shot off Incendio from their wands.
Prat decided on throwing Incendio duo at Aleks while she decided on Incendio, this was the exhilarating duel Prat had wanted for a long time, he enjoyed those rounds where both sides simply focused on offence completely abandoning defence as they turned it into a battle will power and endurance.
Only the moments that followed left Prat disappointed again as only his cast succeeded while Alek's fizzled out. What was about to turn into an epic showdown turned into a one sided roast as Prat's Incendio Duo hit Aleks, setting her on fire. His ambitions for a fiery duel fizzled out just like the spell he was about to be up against. He felt somewhat reluctant for the next rounds, as he was the one who bothered Aleks enough for a duel and was now the immediate source of her magical suffering.
Prat could easily guess how much Aleks hated the current events if he went by her demeanor and overall personality which just makes the duel seem like a bother to her. Feeling sympathetic towards his friend, Prat decided to end this game as fast as he could.

The fates finally decided she would have an interesting duel to watch, and not whatever 'second round' curse and endless dodging she'd had to endure in the last year. Then again, she'd only ever watched junior league duels. Watching a senior league duel might bring more complex and exhilirating duels to watch. The only issue was that she hardly knew any upperclassmen. The fates did, however, decide that toying with the kids' luck was just as funny and might've been where Alyssea's luck was redirected to, for once.
Prat sent out the same fire-making spell that he threw the last round, though Aleksandra was more prepared to dodge it the second time around. The flames that lingered on her clothes previously were now out, leaving only ashes on her sleeves. Any longer and Alyssea figured she wouldn't have a sleeve left at all. Alyssea wasn't one to stereotype, but if the girl was a Slytherin, she probably had the money and parents to get a replacement, so it wasn't entirely that big of a deal.
On the other hand, Aleksandra finally got a hit on Prat with an annoying tickling spell. She gave a little 'woo!' to mark the success. Girls support girls, no? With how strong that fire-making spell was, though, Prat still had the advantage. His technique and patience was getting better, that much Alyssea would say.
