Dear journal,
Yesterday, my father gave me this journal, I am unsure why. Yet here I am, writing in it. The reason is that I have decided to make a use of it. I've always enjoyed the pleasure of writing, not as much as inventing though. He gave it to me only moments before I boarded the train. Didn't give a reason, he just did. I find that a bit weird, if I'm quite honest. I hate it when people don't explain things.

I'm not going to introduce myself, because the idea of introducing myself to a journal doesn't make sense. The train ride was pleasant, I encountered a girl, @Amelie Halstead, whom I used to know. We've, well, acquainted at a few pure-blodded balls, things of the sort. We talked. It was nice, I guess. Apparently she's a first year, now. Haven't seen her today, though.

My brother, Dani got sorted into Ravenclaw, which is a nice house, my older sister, Cassidy is also a Ravenclaw, and Angel, Kat and I are all Slytherins.

I figure Cassidy has showed Dani around the common room, but she might be too busy with her stupid boyfriend. He's so excited to explore more, but he's glued to Ebony, his black cat. The professors don't allow this though, so she has to stay in the dorm room, while class is going on. He got her for Christmas last year, she was still a kitty, and now she's a few months old.

Our parents were scared Dani was bringing a tiny little cat to Hogwarts, but Dani convinced them, of course. He always gets what he wants, he's a clever boy. He's got lots of potential. But, he told me he already hates flying, which is a bummer, since I'm now a Quidditch player, and we won't get to play much.

Dear journal,
Not sure why, but I'm writing again here. Been a week and everything, classes have already started. Hogwarts is always nice. And, now that I'm playing Quidditch I have practice and all. Classes have been normal, just like last year, except maybe a little harder, you know, second year and all.

I was thinking, I did get a fake permission slip to go to Hogsmeade, and I was thinking of maybe going there secretly. On my own. I know it's not allowed, but I do have a fake slip, and I've heard great things about the Butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks, so that would be nice.

Anyways, nothing much has happened, just needed to write something down, you know? Oh, also, I've managed to translate a little bit more of grandpa's old journal.

It sucks that I was so young when he passed, I mean he was a Parselmouth just like me, and no one else in my family is a Parselmouth, and he lived through so much, so many adventures and he had so many secrets, which are probably in that journal, if I could just translate that journal.

It's all just so confusing, some parts in English, some French, some in Parselmouth, morse code, code, some stuff is in some language I didn't even knew he spoke, or existed even.
