Ruby Night, 2nd year, Friend | Ruby and Abbey sat together on the train a little before Abbey decided to change compartment (not because of ruby!) They also met each other in the Hufflepuff common room and had a little morning conversation together with Eugenia.

Shubhangi Kanjilal, 2nd year, Close friend | Shubhangi and Abbey met in charms class. Abbey liked Shubhangi and thought she seemed nice the first time they met. Therefore she sent a letter to the girl and asked if she would like to hang out with her some time. The two girls had a picnic by the great lake where they got to know each other better.

First Instance of Magic

Abbeys first accident with magic was when she was 8 and accidentally made the tv smash into pieces when she was mad at on of her little brothers for stealing on of her sketchbooks.

History

She grew up in Liverpool and has been living there her whole life. She lives with her 6 siblings and her muggle mom, who is a dentist and her wizard dad who is a painter. Her 6 siblings are named Olive, Emmet, Julian, Oscar, George and Cynthia. They all live together In a middle sized house with a quit big garden. The house is placed a little outside central Liverpool and they live in a big neighbourhood. Her family is pretty normal, just obviously a bit bigger than other families. The family has two dogs too. One brown chubby Labrador and one small old pug. The pug’s name is Rocky and the Labrador’s name is Bear. Abbey’s aunts, uncles and grandparents on her mother’s side all live in north England, and that’s why they live in Liverpool.

Abbey has been going to a normal English muggle school in Liverpool until now and she doesn’t have a lot of magic skills or knowledge about magic. She has been learning a bit from her dad, but not a lot since her parents wanted their family to fit in with the muggles. She knows the houses at Hogwarts and the story of the school. She also knows the names of some charm spells like Nox and Lumos, but she has never casted any of the spells. When Steven (Abbey’s dad) married Jane (Abbey’s mom) they decided to pretend Steven was a muggle just like Jane. When their first born Julian (Abbey’s older brother) got his letter to attend Hogwarts they let him do it, but still wanted to live in the muggle world and pretend to be “normal” muggles. It is a “tradition” in the Thompson family that when you turn 11 you are allowed to learn about Hogwarts and the magical world. You are allowed to attend Hogwarts. It isn’t like illegal or bad to learn spells or talk about magic before you turn 11. It is just not something Abbey’s parents want them to go around talking about because it isn’t something the muggles know what is. They didn’t want to be the “weird family” in Liverpool or their neighbourhood. The best solution might sound like moving to the magical world, but no. Jane didn’t want to leave her family (muggle family) so moving to the magical world wasn’t an option.
