i know id looove to know more about him :[ but also like im sooo nervous and i asked my friend for advice and she said "if ur ok with the chance of him saying no u should ask him out!" and i cannot get rejected on my FIRST DAY OF UNI...........

Remember that you have nearly a whole year to get to know him, same goes for anyone else you're living or studying with. Better to take your time and actually build up a connection first before diving into it
