You know, I've heard that hot candle wax is very enjoyable when it's dripping on you from the candles above. No, I'm kidding - who would think that?? Apparently, Emily Shephard does, since she barely tries to move out from under it as she dances; her partner, Prat Pass, is less than happy with the predicament and successfully casts Extinguo at the candle above them.

There's also your standard talking from Ariam Vargas, Peter Smith and his very huggable partner Violeta Roux, and Acacia Murillo. Danielle Alden tries to go for a hug and finds herself rebuffed (partner did not post). In a more interesting turn of events, Bella Barret and Jessamine Hemlock find themselves paired - something by which the former seems not too pleased. What's the history there? This author wants to know!

The music starts back up again, and the spell whisks everyone away to find a new partner... and by the time the violins fade out once more, each skilled dancer is paired with someone very new, in a situation that is either also new or vaguely familiar...

Ariam couldn't get a response from the girl before the music stared and the dancing begin once more, they were certainly filled with some annoyance as the lack of conversation they have gotten, What is with the people at this ball, they really don't talk much, at least not to me. Ariam thought as they looked at one of the people that were conversing with one another. Right before the dance began Ariam saw two blond girls talking, though one of them, the one with the short hair styled into a bob, didn't look too good. I hope she's okay, at least the dance started again. Ariam continued dancing, seeing people after people, eventually they saw the blond haired girl with the bob again, right when the music stopped too. They quickly glanced up and were greeted by a mistletoe, I supposed the drama I asked for finally arrived. Ariam said "Greetings, My name is Ariam, I am a future second year at Castlelo. I know we're under the mistletoe together but do you mind if I ask if you're doing okay first? I didn't do much at the end of the last round and I saw you looking a bit worried with some blond girl." Ariam smiled with a hit of concern, hoping they seemed nice and non threatening. I mean this is a ball, everyone is supposed to be dancing and having fun! Emily watched quietly as Prat put out the dripping wax candle with the all too convenient Extinguishing Charm. She gave him an appreciative nod. As relieving as it was to not be under the mistletoe, it would be a stretch to say that to get dripped on by some leaky candle wax was enjoyable. Not as awkward as mistletoe for sure, but still... Getting splashes of wax on Emily's clothes wasn't at all the alternative she would pick.

The music brings on another round of dancing within the group, with both Emily and Prat ultimately parting ways for now. The group circled and moved in another wave of grace and excitement. So far Emily was proud to say that the dance was going smoothly so far. After that first mistletoe encounter with Peter, she decided within herself that she had no need to feel embarrassed no matter what else happened for the duration of this dance. Even if it meant getting the mistletoe twice in a single session.

And sure enough, that exactly happened when Emily appeared under the mistletoe with a girl.

Now that's just taking the mickey...

She exchanged a shy but friendly smile to her new partner. No biggie. So what if she was under the mistletoe again? Emily was sure that a simple hug or handshake would do to compensate a peck to her partner. Although she didn't know the Beauxbatons boy that well, she was still quietly thanking him for helping her get over that hurdle of awkwardness.

Once again the instruments played, and once again Acacia was whisked across the dance floor by the strange spell. She may not like it, but she was at least learning to tolerate the thing. Putting up with it was going to have to be a thing she did if she was going to enjoy this dance. Which she was. She didn't get all dressed up for nothing after all. After a few more minutes of twirling and whirling, she came to a stop yet again. Under another candle to. This was what, the third time in a row? Wasn't the third time meant to be lucky? It was a game of spin the bottle as well as a dance after all. Coming out without ending up under the leaves even once would be just a horrendous turn of luck.

Speaking of candles, this one was dripping. Didn't they have magic for this kind of thing? If they could do an enchantment fancy enough for instant dancing skills, surely they could stop one little candle from ruining her outfit while she was at it. She stepped out of its way, reaching to pull her dance partner with her. It was a nice thing to do, and she didn't bring her wand for a fancy charm to kill the thing. Wand or not, it probably wouldn't be much help anyway. She was far from the best spellcaster at Castelobruxo. Homework would always take second seat to quidditch training for her, and her grades reflected that. But there were plenty of non-magical ways to destroy a candle. Or to simply step out of the way of one. All you needed was half a brain and a pair of feet to know that fancy stunts were hardly necessary here.

Now that she and her beautiful boots were safely out of the way of any dripping wax, she turned back to say hello to the other girl she had stopped with. No need to be rude just because they weren't under the mistletoe. She looked French, with pretty blue eyes and blond hair. Maybe a buexbatons student? Hopefully she knew English, since Acacia didn't know a word of it. "Watch out for the candle" she said, with a nod towards it. "Wouldnt want to spoil your pretty dress" it was a game of spin the bottle after all. She was going to flirt with at least one girl tonight. "The names Acacia. From castelobruxo" she said "You a buexbatons student? Or Hogwarts maybe?"

Action: Stepping out of the way of the candle and reaching to pull Danielle with her (up to her writer whether this succeeds)

Danielle was soon enough whisked away in the lively dance once more, a smile on her lips as her body magically knew all the moves and ways to dance gracefully to the beat of the music.

Once the music finally stopped once more, Danielle found herself underneath a dripping candle with a fellow witch. She avoided a few drops, covering her head to not get wax in her styled hair. She spotted the girl reaching to pull her away and allowed herself to be pulled away from the wax. She did not want her dress or hair ruined by the wax.

Danielle laughed softly after the girl commented on the candle and her dress. "Thank you. You look great too!" she smiled sweetly at the girl. "And yeah, I'm Danielle, from Hogwarts. Nice to meet you, Acacia." she said.

After another moment of silence, Dani then began to attempt some small talk with the girl while they were waiting for the next rotation. "So, Acacia. You said you went to Castelbruxo, right?" she started, "How've you been enjoying the camp and England so far? Must be different." she said, curious about the opinion of the foreign students.

Action: Letting Acacia take me away from the candle and chatting with her.
