When considering the summer games, this was not exactly how Avery imagined her first foray into the London Stadium. The image of the snow covered field was extremely at odds with the summer heat. The afternoon sunlight fights to break through the shifting clouds, bathing the pitch in near blinding light as it bounces off the magically formed snow. One such break in the cloud cover prompts Avery to step forward, bouncing on the balls of her feet a little with nervous excitement.

This stadium was on an entirely different level than the one back at Hogwarts. And it was always exciting watching the international students play, see some of the different playing styles. "Welcome everyone, hope you're all ready for what will no doubt be an exciting match! We've got Mahoutokoro," she announces, pausing to allow players to time to enter the field to cheers and applause, "facing off against Castelobruxo!" She watches from her vantage point as the second team takes to the field, waiting for the uproar from the crowd to die down some. Keen to get the action started, Avery lifts her hand in the air to signal for the bludgers and the snitch to be released. The quaffle is lobbed into the air. "Let the match begin!"

Image posted by the member It was not the first time that Egon played quidditch, he had done it before. But it had been enough since the last time, and to be frank, he was very excited to return to the field with his broom. Today he had to be in the team game of his school, which was to take place in competition against the school Castelobruxo. His position was keeper but reserve, in case the main keeper could not attend for some reason. He didn’t like sitting on the bench much, but it was hopeless. As he sat there,
took advantage of the moment to look around at the stadium, a bit boring but still would have to get used to. His face was leaning against the broomstick. It seemed he was going to stand there resting his head and doze off a little.

SUMMER CAMP '24, QUIDDITCH MATCH
It was a partially cloudy and warm afternoon, despite the magical addition of snow all over the ground, courtesy of the summer organizers. As the announcer for the quidditch match called out the name of his own school, Tone walked with the rest of his team onto the pitch carrying his Silver Arrow in his hand. This time they were against Castelobruxo and he wondered how things would fare this time. It was always a lot of fun playing any match, regardless of what the end result was. Tone had always just liked losing himself in the feeling of flying through the air, going after bludgers.

There was just no feeling like sending bludgers towards his opponents. Of course, he'd also been working on his ability to defend and catch the members of his team too. But that just wasn't nearly as fun as gripping his bat and making contact with a bludger, sending it over towards the opposing team. Quidditch was just so much fun. There were just so many opportunities given to you when playing a game! Upon reaching the starting point, Tone waited until the snitch was released and then quickly rose up into the air on his broom. Shooting straight up into the air, the blond circled around and then hovered there, waiting for Sara to join him. After all, they were the team's beaters and it was all on them to make it hard for their opponents to work. "How you feeling, Sara?" Tone asked, letting his eyes flicker over at him. When it came to his feelings regarding Sara lately, things had been a little strange. Not that he let it show it all on the outside.

Tone's practiced ability to cover up his true feelings was once more in play again.

Finally. The one thing Daniel had come to another continent for finally came. It took them long enough. He gripped his shiny new broom in hand and followed the rest of the team as the announcer called them. When surveying his opponents, it dawned on him that one of the girls he tried to flirt befriend was one of them. What was her name again?

As they took their positions on the field, Daniel made sure to lock eyes with the girl and give her a solid wink before the whistle blew. An act of friendship before blatching her to her doom, if you will. @Raizel Voltrouz

English & Japanese
Sara’s whole thing is constant compensation. So bad thing A happened, but at least there’s B. Or, A kept me up late at night, but tomorrow there’s also B. To cope with a quidditch game that didn’t frankly suit Sara’s personal preferences, he liked to think of compensating the situation with something else. Like example, well this game is going to make me cry, but at least I’m benched and my friends are here. He had even won games where he hasn’t even gotten on a broom yet. But alas, times had changed.

Now he was the one preparing for immediate flight. First in the fray. First to cry, for sure. Previously it wouldn’t have been so bad now that Ginyami was in the team again. It was always better to have someone he could consider a close friend to be there. Boyfriend, really. But that word had left an uneasy feel in his stomach since last night. The mistletoe dance event.

The interactions of many people involved that Sara merely soaked up like it was the last scraps of food he could find to sate his hunger. Yet he was still not satisfied. Like he was missing an important piece to a puzzle other people had already solved and refused to show him. Sara had thought over and over about talking to Ginyami about it, but the words faltered in his mind. In the end, he simply went to bed early. Finding himself hoping Ginyami didn’t come and ask.

Perhaps the other boy was already well aware of what might be going through Sara’s mind. It was a vulnerable position to be in, when almost everything Sara did was translated well to Ginyami. Despite how often people misunderstood Sara’s interaction. It gave him a sense of warmth and unease at the same time. Sara was almost grateful that they had a big game to focus on. He felt that was the main reason why Ginyami never brought up his observations. For the better, really.

He hoped Yami knew Sara would eventually… hope to talk about it. Not now. But dedicated enough to not let it go. And he could trust that if he chickened out, Ginyami will pull him back in. Always did.

So today he looked like his usual right before a game. Which strangers would perceive as ready to crush someCastelbruxo butt. Friends would see it as him being nervous and trying hard not to cry. Yami would know it’s related to something a tad bit deeper specifically for him. Which resulted in subtly(?) ignoring him and stayed away from any conversation that didn’t have a clear dead end. Surface level talk that they haven’t had since they were kids. It was a little different than using their little ‘code’ in front of their younger kouhei’s. Code which tame conversations was code for something only they knew.

No, this one was different. It was surface level, almost empty with scripted responses.

It still..kinda stung. To look forward to playing with Ginyami in an official game, but for this to happen. Whatever it was, Sara did his best not to look directly in Ginyami’s direction. For that just made him a little more guilty each time. He simply took the instructions of starting the game, grabbed his newer Oakshaft and flew up to start the game. Taking breaths being his only remedy to calm his racing heart.

It was then that Hiro decided to ask if Sara was alright, as he usually was whenever they were about to start a game. Hiro had been there for him for the longest time in the team. He had witnessed Sara’s first game, and watched as Sara went from benched player to 1st string. If anything Sara should have been appreciative of the distraction. In a way, he was. But Hiro was there as well, last night. Apart of the many that seemed to know much more than Sara did. And it only resulted in a brief nod to his question. He wasn’t upset at Hiro. More as of..confused. There were plenty of things that were building up Sara’s unease. Like how he reacted to seeing Ginyami and Sara together at night. Or during the mistletoe event. And yet whenever they were just together like this, Hiro acted like there was nothing out of the ordinary. Why did no one tell Sara anything?

Fine..”

He managed to say, but it was evident by the tension in his shoulders that Sara was done with talking at the moment.

“...Be careful during the game, please?..” he said softly as a last minute decision. Unease aside, Sara still liked to think they were friends. He genuinely didn't want Hiro to be hurt in anyway. Who knows.. maybe it was all just Sara overthinking and Hiro didn't find anything wrong.

May they win quickly, and can do so without him hurting anyone. Seems like a big wish for a beater to think, but he could try.

Chosen Broom Abilities

In the role of Beater, if you hit an opponent with a bludger the bludger will then ricochet off that user and target a second opponent of choice (must be declared, if not declared the target will be random and can be an ally but not yourself).
In the role of Beater, if an ALLY dodges a bludger during the round, there is a 20% chance that you catch that bludger with your bat and you send it at a RANDOM enemy target.

Note: For the rules lawyers out there: you are not considered your own ally.
In the role of Beater, if you critically hit with a bludger, instead of doing double-damage you do 2.5x damage. If you critically fail with your bludger attempt to hit, rather than having your bludger randomly target another user (including yourself or an ally) the bludger cannot target you on a critical fail (but it can still target your allies). On a re-target, there is a random roll for target and then a fresh accuracy roll.

Nerves had no place on the pitch. It was stupid to act without fear of consequence, but stupid to obsess over it. Nerves would not cost Acacia this game, for she had none. Fear would come to her in the air, dodging bludgers or grabbing the quaffle. Here on the ground, she stood besides her team and did her best to size up the competition. It was her first international game, and she was determined to do all she could to make it a good one. After all the mingling and pleasantries, which felt so hollow before a game were done she joined her fellow second strings on the bench. She enjoyed bragging just as much as the next person, but felt it was better saved for when they had something to brag about.

Raul's love for quidditch managed to defeat his hatred of the United Kingdom. Of course, he had very little desire to come and visit a summer camp hosted by a ridiculous school like Hogwarts, but the opportunity to actually get out on the pitch against foreigners was not something he wished to give up. His brother may not have been there, the older Correa having resigned from the team, but at least one of the members of their most prestigious house had to show their face. The seeker shot a wink to the crowd as he stalked out to the pitch, before turning his attention to his teammates. The smile the plastered his face was positively smarmy, and he partnered it with an elaborate bow, before he mounted his broom and took to the sky. Time to redeem the loss the yankees had caused them last year.

When you know that you are the best looking thing in the world, there is really very little that others can do to sway you with their appearance. Such is the life of one Raul Otávio Vinicius Mirales Correa. A great appreciator of beauty, especially when it takes the form of gorgeous women, although he is not entirely ashamed to admit that he has admired the aesthetic form of more than a few men, Raul knows that they all pale in comparison to his own greatness. As such, he is not swayed by the beauty of others, for much like Narcissus becoming entranced with his own reflection, Raul became enamoured with his own self-image long ago. Truthfully, and without any form of self-doubt nor embarrassment, he believes that he is the most glorious creation under the heavens, and therefore thinks himself out of the league of just about anyone, regardless of how beautiful they may be. Delusion, it seems, is a grand defence against the bewitching and entirely unnatural allure of many of the denizens of the wizarding world.

That is not to mention his own cruelty and lack of concern for others, the destruction of a beautiful visage is an entirely justifiable price to pay if it provides one with the ability to further their own ends. Raul is not only entirely comfortable with harming those who he finds aesthetically pleasing, he takes an odd sense of satisfaction in it. Not so much in the destruction of beauty, but only in that it serves to further his own confirmation bias as to his own greatness. In many ways, he is cruel, but more importantly than that, he is callous to the needs of others. As far as he is concerned, the world starts and stops with his own whims, his own needs and desires. The possibility of seduction that would see those needs and desires temporarily satiated holds no bearing, especially when he is more than capable of providing himself with all that he could ever want. Mutually beneficial trades are of little interest to Raul, others exist to serve him, and accordingly, he feels not an ounce of respect or deference to others regardless of their appearance. Raul understands the effort that is required to make one gorgeous, after all he spends a significant portion of his own time on his own grooming, and it is because of this expended effort that he is more than confident that his own efforts leave even those with the blood of sirens and veelas wanting. [424 Words]

Evasive Maneuvers
Reducio
When one walks a path that is constantly lined with insults and accusations, hatred and self-aggrandisement, it becomes second nature to know how to dodge and avoid the imminent blows that come. A lifetime of barbed insults prepared Raul well for a schooling environment, insofar as the education system is a social Darwinian hellscape. Yet, even before he attended the most prestigious educational institution for magic in the world, in his own not-so-humble opinion, Raul was commonly causing scenes at functions and events. Constant insults were met with physical, and later magical, retaliation, and it became necessary for the young pureblood to learn to avoid the blows of his more magically and physically apt opponents. A slight boy with no true gift for spellcasting, if he was to maintain his reputation for needless attacks and foul-mouthed insults, he would need to ensure that he could protect himself in the only way he knew how. By getting the hell out of the way.

Of course, once he entered school, there were more than a few students who not only didn’t care for his behaviour, but were more than capable of making their displeasure known. Natural instincts for avoiding trouble at the last possible moment would only become stronger, more honed, as Raul continued to bite off more than he could chew, starting altercations and fleeing before he could suffer any real, physical consequences. In due course, he would become as slippery as he was arrogant, learning to read the telegraphed spells and blows from adversaries before they were launched, his footwork increasing as he became extremely aware of how to dodge out of the way of their attacks.

Raul would start trouble, as was his way, but he would be damned if he were going to face the consequences of his actions. Sure, there were times where he caught a well-deserved hex, but they only served to embolden the boy. How dare they touch his most glorious visage with their filthy mudblood magic? It was the gravest of insults, and one that he would not allow to come to pass again. So, without realising it, without consciously choosing to do so, Raul would come to focus more and more on the behaviour of his peers, learning to read when they were upset, not only to ensure that his own jibes were landing, but to avoid the consequences should the unfortunate soul choose to pay him back for them. [407 Words]

Evasive Manoeuvres II
Reducio
Quidditch was an interesting sport, one that placed a great deal of import on the role of a singular player. The seeker with their ability to end the game with one move, to earn fifteen times the worth of a goal with a simple wrist movement, undoubtedly was the most important role on the pitch. Naturally, the role was an obvious fit for Raul when it came time to join an extracurricular. After all, a position that predisposes itself to glory hounds was an entirely natural fit for the narcissist. With the goal of achieving personal glory and greatness upon a broom, he would take to the skies, and if it so happened that he could assist his school in proving their dominance over the other lesser educational institutes, then that would be an added bonus.

Of course, the very nature of the seeker that drew Raul to the role also meant that it was one that was rife with danger. When there are positions on the opposite team who are more often than not tasked with specifically ensuring that you are unable to stay conscious for long enough to see out the match, learning to avoid bludgers becomes an omnipresent part of participation. In order to catch the snitch, one has to ensure that they are conscious enough to do it, and that means dodging. Or, to put it another way, undertaking evasive manoeuvres.

Raul was already rather quick on his feet when he took the role of seeker at the start of the 2022 school year, but it took a fair bit more time to transplant those instincts from avoiding conflict on the ground to avoiding metal balls hurtling toward him in the sky. Still, whereas he’d come to rely on watching others to see if they would strike, his focus on the snitch would soon force him to use other senses. Sound, in particular, would become his friend, and the telltale sound of wind breaking around an oncoming bludger would sound like a siren, warning the seeker to avoid the incoming concussion given physical form.

The constant use of these instincts would only see them further develop, not only with respect to the sporting arena, but also outside of it. As two of his great loves, insulting people and getting away without consequence, and being able to claim victory in spite of the actions of an entire team, would come together to propel his evasive instincts ever onward. Of course, his true, greatest love, would remain himself, and ensuring that his most gorgeous visage avoided the unsightliness of a broken nose was certainly no small factor in ensuring he could manage a solid dodge. [447 Words]

Fearless
Reducio
Raul knew he was the baddest dude around, the prettiest man in town, the bona-fide king of not only Castelobruxo but the international wizarding community as a whole. What did such a man have to fear? Nothing.

Or, at least, that was how he explained himself to his brother and the sycophants. In truth, his gradual numbness to fear was far more academic and far less creative. Ever since entering the school in the heart of the world’s largest rainforest, he’d found himself drawn not to the people, not to the classes, but to the very plants that served as their protectors and barriers. Herbology and botany had grown to be his passions, and it was only in those classes that he felt that he could truly express himself. The study of wilder plants, the examination of ancient botanical specimens, both magical and mundane, had driven him more than he cared to admit. So it came that when one stared into the maw of a carnivorous plant, its very power overwhelming, they had to give up some semblance of ego. They had to swallow their fear and face a force primordial and ancient. In spite of his ego, in spite of his multitude of flaws, Raul had managed to do it.

Of course, outside of the safe confines of the jungle or the classroom, his newfound confidence found new purchase and meaning. The quidditch pitch was a place to prove himself. If he did not fear danger at the hands of a being more primordial and deadly than he, why would he fear the bludgers sent by his lesser-blooded opponents. Thrusting himself forth became a natural part of his role as a seeker. Moreover, it became his predestined role. He knew he was the best thing to grace the field since the invention of the golden snitch, why would he worry about the temporary damage of some mudblooded beater hailing from the backend of Peru or some other such nation.

With quidditch and herbology as the foundations of his new-founded cockiness, masquerading as fearlessness, Raul set forth into his fourth year. He didn’t dare worry about the words or actions of others, afterall, he could merely dodge their blows. In the worst case scenario, where such blows would find purchase, where he would find himself knocked to the floor in temporary embarrassment, he knew that such social worries were temporary. The short term victory of his would-be opponent was nothing when compared to the fact that he knew that he was better than them, intrinsically, eternally, forever-more.

Reducio
In the role of Seeker, if an opponent attempts to Bludger or Blatch you, there is a 20% chance that you veer out of the way the last second and another enemy player at RANDOM is targeted instead.

Note: The new target still gets their normal dodge attempt. This is not considered to be an auto-dodge, in fact this roll is done before any accuracy rolls are done.
In the role of Seeker, when using the search action if you critically fail on your search you get a re-roll in an attempt to find the snitch. In an attempt to grab the snitch, if you critically fail on your attempt to grab the snitch you get to re-roll your attempt to grab the snitch.

Joseph has always been an adventurous spirit, always willing to give it his all with any new challenge that arises yet have fun all the same. But right now, as his very first quidditch match was about to begin, the pressure of winning filled his bones and it was absolutely nerve wracking.
Representing the great Castelobruxo as one of its starters he absolutely had to win and contribute to the wonderful name of his school. The pressure to be great was definitely getting to him, but one thing he knows for sure is that he'll give it his all and ensure a flawless victory, more so that he doesn't embarrass himself while on the pitch.

On the other hand, boo, Boe never rejoined the team and left Monet with a beater two years her junior. Tough love best described the way she would interact with him @Tommy Patterson.
On the other other hand, they won their game against the Japanese school last year. Easy peasy, just do it again.

It was Botan's first offical quidditch match and he was anxious. Obviously he wasn't showing it, but he hadn't done so well in the one unoffical game he had played in. Chaser was his role, but he would be playing with bigger, faster, and older students, many he had never even seen before. Botan hoped their game would go well, and that he could do something to help his school out. (WC: 71)
