───•─•────────────────────────────────────•─•───
The Spin setting glowed gently against the darkened backdrop of the stadium, hundreds of candle lights warmly beckoning attendants nearer to partake in the festivities. Evelynn, alongside the great majority of her tentmates, drew nearer with gliding steps abreast Pericles, silent but for the whisper of her full bodied skirt along the snowy carpet. Like him, she had paused at the perimeter of the dance floor, taking in the checkered pattern much like a chess board, and the decor floating overhead. The sprigs of mistletoe scattered sparsely in and amongst the candles did not go unnoticed to her keen eye. Lips pursed.
"It was monikered the Mistletoe Spin..." Evelynn murmured, sights sliding from the tokens of Yuletide to the now-cross Eagle nearby.
Like him, the Gryffindor's name had been added to the list of attendants not by her own hand but the eager scrawl of their mutual starry-eyed girl friend. Unlike Pericles, she hadn't remained shrouded in ignorance. She had learned her lesson some summers back on the pitfalls of being signed up unknowingly for events of which the rules were not made known to her until the time of action. Since then, foresight would have her checking for her name on the participation lists well ahead, and reading up—or listening in on the gossip—to educate herself ahead of time. Which meant that, yes, Evelynn had willfully allowed herself to attend a dance centered around the unfortunate tradition of the mistletoe.
While Alyssa teased Pericles with a peck on the cheek—which would draw a curious loft of a brow from Evelynn—the lioness busied herself with studying those with whom they would share the dance floor, which was in itself a curious piece of enchantment. It only took her a moment to understand the basics of its magical properties. As soon as someone stepped onto it, their expression would invariably alight with shock and surprise before their feet seemed to whisk them away without hesitation or a second thought. Even more remarkably, everyone seemed to know the steps and movements to the dance despite its complex and frequently intermingling choreography. And yet, she didn't join immediately. If anything, it gave her pause.
Everyone always looked so excited for these events, anticipation clawing and togues wagging to guess at who would get to kiss who and what pairings might result thereafter. Several couples had even arrived to this: Anderson and Cox, Jones and Winters. Of those slated to share the floor, Kato and Gray had or had once had a significant other. Prince, Winnie, and Alyssa all fell under that umbrella as well. For all she knew, perhaps Eden did too. Or, given his prestigious upbringing, perhaps his family had already selected his spouse to be. Even Pericles—she noted the lipstick mark on his jaw as he dashingly moved by—seemed to be developing something...
It was normal for those of their age to start to discover romantic interest... So why didn't she? The air seemed to fill with giggles; the horizon, with smiling faces succumbing to the whim of the music. And yet, here, Evelynn was the odd one out, and for once, that left her with a sense of unease, like she was blindly missing something so natural and obvious to all of her peers. She wanted to know what it was that they were feeling. But all she seemed to feel was that something heavy had settled into the pit of her stomach.
For several minutes, Evelynn couldn't help but just observe those who had boldly stepped onto the stage. With sorrowful sort of smile tugging the corners of her mouth, she watched in shrouded ice as her tentmates took to the chessboard each in turn before finally putting to bed the temptation to resign herself back to their tent and stepping up herself. Almost immediately, her mind was filled with the steps and anticipated motions of the dance, the disembodied orchestral music suddenly ringing clear, a siren call to join the fray. Palms smoothed down the icy silvered satin of her gown as she took a deep breath, steeling herself for the challenge she had personally set. When an opening presented itself, she slipped herself into the dance in a whirl of snowflakes that trailed after her in the wake of her Gown of the Seasons.
After a blur of faces and the passing of hands, Evelynn would find herself paired with a familiar and favourable partner as the music dwindled. Winnie, perhaps the only one possibly even more enthusiastic about the ball than Alyssa—if that was even possible—looked right at home in her hallmark silky pink with puffed sleeves and long white opera gloves. Copper curls danced around her shoulders and cascaded down to the small of her back. It was difficult not to feel at least a shred of infectious contentment, the pit in her stomach ebbing somewhat, at the trill of the girl's giggles as the two twirled to a stand-still. Of everyone in attendance, Winnie best portrayed the regency theme and was, as far as Evelynn was concerned, the belle of this debutant ball. It was, after all, possibly the first time the girl had attended a formal without proximity to Pride. Perhaps Evelynn was a bit prejudiced, but she liked this look for the younger Ravenclaw a lot better and fully supported this debut of independence.
But it seemed the Belle would be distracted. As soon as they stopped, Winnie's gaze shifted around to the others. Granted, Evelynn's did as well. One of the more rational arguments to convince herself to remain was to be able to note who had kissed who and therefore track the possible passing of any hag slugs as yet unaccounted for, though for this round, it seemed there would be none. Her gaze would pull back at the sudden exclamation of surprise from her present partner, however, eyes tracking Winnie's focus to pin upon Gray and the closed fist inbound into his repugnant face. The Ravenclaw was already en route to intercept. Evelynn's hand left reflexively to hold her back, to prevent Winnie from involving herself, but she stayed her hand. As much as this was not their business, and part of Evelynn would have dearly enjoyed seeing the Slytherin get his due...
"This is neither the place nor the time." Stern words carried themselves in a low melodic lilt in Anderson's direction as Winnie moved forward. "This is a public function, and it has just begun. Can we not have a single event that fails to devolve into violence?" One hand to her hip, the other motioned open palmed towards the rest of them. "If you must insist, lay down your call for a duel." Her voice drops a register, turning flat as an unreadable gaze swept to settle upon Gray, "I will happily be your second."

Of the many surprises to have come from his fifth year at Hogwarts, the discovery that dancing was something to enjoy and not dread was amongst the paramount. Cassius, like many of the children in his corner of the wizarding world, had been taught to dance from an early age. It might have helped their enjoyment had the dancing not been so formal with moves reminiscent of ages of history past; but, some did have charm. Those Cassius did not find himself hating were usually quick paced waltzes or other high tempo songs. It was this newfound joy of dancing that prompted the usually reticent Ravenclaw to venture forth out of his tent in formal attire fitting for any regency themed party and step onto the dance floor.
…and what a dance floor it was.
Taking only a few steps onto the checkerboard floor was enough for the soon-to-be sixth year to be whisked into a fast-paced dance. Some variation of the dancing feet spell, he guessed, as he abandoned the idea of struggling against the pull of the charm after his initial shock of the spell dissipated. He was here to dance, after all, and he had sworn to himself he would use this summer to break out of what was left of his shell. Less worrying, more doing. He would allow himself to enjoy the moment.
Just as Cassius began to really enjoy the song – it stopped. Or rather he was stopped, not by any will of his own, directly in front of one Opeila Winters.
The young Ravenclaw considered the woman, his blue-gray eyes betraying his curiosity. He did not know what to think about one of his duelling counterparts. Just a few months prior they had faced off against one another with Cassius’ side coming out on top. It had been a narrow affair and one that saw all three Slytherins fall at once. Did she harbor any resentment from the results of that duel? Should he be expecting a slap on the face?
They were under the mistletoe, he knew, having glanced up at the greenery above them. Clever, he thought of the organizers. That was certainly bound to cause some drama although if drama was to be had it would not start with him. He knew this particular dancer was linked to another.
Rather than attempt to kiss her, Cassius simply flashed Opeila a charming smile. “You look beautiful tonight,” he said with a soft voice, even daring to wink as well. “But you are not mine to kiss. The stars may be out tonight, but ours have yet to align. Who knows what the future may hold.”

@Cassius Eden
Opeila felt different this summer camp. The two weeks in Finland had been somewhat awkward, making her feel relieved when she got on the train to summer camp again, but whatever she had expected- this was not it. Christmas and winter themes all over the place, the cabin she shared with Aaron, Jack, George and Jake- however that happened- didn't feel right for summer. Opeila had kind of looked forward to summer, maybe a chance to swim somewhere again and more, but this... well, maybe it would be a one time thing and her final summer camp next year would have a more fitting theme.
Despite the little enthusiasm she felt for this camp, Opeila had signed up for the mistletoe ball and just wore a dress that she had worn to the previous ball, that she found looked particularly nice in candle light.
What really made her not care that much about the camp theme and look forward to every single day of the camp was Aaron's presence. Waking up and being able to roll over to sleepily snuggle against him- ignoring any comments or grossed out noises from their cabin mates- and spending entire days together however they wanted without any classes interrupting them was wonderful.
The two of them walked to the ball together and Aaron's good mood was infectious. "Thank you, you don't look bad yourself." She nudged him playfully and adjusted the collar of his blazer. "Just so you know, for every kiss you give under mistletoes tonight, you'll have to give me two later.", she warned, poking a finger into his chest when he pulled her closer to kiss her. "That is in addition to any mistletoe kisses I might get, of course.", she added with a smirk.
The two were torn apart immediately by the magic of the dancefloor and a few moments later she found herself facing- actually almost bumping into- none other than Cassius Eden. The two of them had not talked that much, there had been a short conversation in the library and a pretty close duel that he had ended up winning, but other than that, she didn't have any feelings about this situation. "Hi! Thank you, you look great too."
His comment made her chuckle- and redden just a little- and she leaned forward a bit. "I should probably let you know that my boyfriend is present.", she whispered, looking in Aaron's direction, who seemed to have a little... wax issue.

Group 8Let no one say that Hogwarts' elder years don't know how to BRING THE DRAMA. Immediately, nemeses are paired on the floor, and suddenly shouts are going up and punches are being thrown. Well, really just one punch - by Dorion Anderson towards the somehow very willing face of Percival Gray. However, Winnie Harper is across the floor in a flash (abandoning her dry-witted companion, Evelynn Decipio) and practically grabs Dorion's fist out of midair. No one is punched, but some feelings may end up bruised after this encounter.MODERATION POST
On the other side of the floor, Aly Salinger and Elsian Cox seem to be building a tentative bridge following a nasty elbow-filled first meeting a few months before (aww, how sweet, despite the bad jokes) and there's a light bit of kissing in the form of Amina Petrovic's lips on Akari Kato's cheek. Well, it might not be full-on snogging, but it's something! Finally, Cassius Eden pins his flirtations on the wrong girl in the form of one very taken Opeila Winters, who passes on the Ravenclaw prefect's affections. Maybe next time, Cassius. Or the next girl. Or boy...
On the spell-casting side of things, Pericles Dralt is, for once, being selfish and successfully casts the Umbrella Charm to keep hot wax from dripping on him and only him. His partner, Aaron Jones, is left to shamefully pluck gobs from his suit. I don't envy your dry-cleaning bill, Aaron!
The music starts back up again, and the spell whisks everyone away to find a new partner... and by the time the violins fade out once more, each skilled dancer is paired with someone very new, in a situation that is either also new or vaguely familiar...
This event takes place, IC, on AUGUST 2.

Dori didn't own a time turner, but they wish they had. Specifically to punch Percival before the event had time to begin.⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛
They hadn't been a trouble maker really in all of their time at school. Except for one time Rafa pulled them into a hairbrained scheme to do something with Vlad that ended up in chaos and Dori and Opeila's relationship nearly disintegrating. Other than that? Model student. Only participated in chaos if it seemed absolutely necessary for the lives around them. But of course the one time they want to punch a pureblood brat in the face, everyone around them has grown up and decided violence suddenly wasn't the answer at school functions.
Time seemed to move slower as Percival stepped back to accept the payment for everything he had done to Dori, the bright green shrug not- great for pulling back for a punch, and Dori realized in that moment they had never gotten in a physical fight and had absolutely no training to know how to do it safely. There was something concerning about how open Percival was to getting punched, but surely that meant that he knew he had done something wrong right? He was- right there. The punch would've been a simple land to the cheek. They weren't even that strong, all things considered.
Until a swath of pink and ginger color flooded their vision, their hand captured in hers. "Winnie?" An exasperated huff, Dori quickly yanking their hand out of hers, almost in disgust. "Why would you defend someone like him?" Eve, criticizing Dori behind them finally came into focus. This- wasn't a joke. Oh my Goddess, the one time Dori steps out of line, does something rash, and they're the party criminal. Stabbings, monsters, darkness, the unthinkable lashing out from shadows and from within students that weren't quite themselves. But today Dori was a monster for attempting to punch a boy that had insulted their family and made them out to be a fool years prior.
They felt the music swelling and with blue eyes turned iced cold, they almost growled at Percival, "This isn't over, Gray. You won't always have someone to protect you." Was that too much? The rage coursed through their veins, unlike any emotion they had ever experienced. There was no time to seethe, to let the fury unleash, before their body was moving to the rhythm of gentle music once more. Their bright green ensemble swirling gently around them. Other people had dressed up more, but Dori was not at school and didn't want to have to bring a grand dress to summer camp. For once, Elsi was more dressed up- Elsi. Where was he? They tried to catch his eye on the dance floor, desperation and fury flooding their eyes. Tears? No. Not now. A new kind of never-ending frustration, a story that was ready to begin the end slammed shut before the reader could discover what happens next. A curse to their Goddess died on the tip of the tongue, it was not such a drastic situation to justify cursing the powers that be. But cursing a certain Ravenclaw? Perhaps.
But to do so in public was now a faux pas, despite everything that had happened in years past. For a brief moment, Dori wondered if they really were the problem in this situation. Years of angst and hatred built up, but was it justified? The indignance of being sixteen and angry pushed the thought quickly out of their mind. They had a right to be angry, to seek justice for words that had cut them down to the bone all those years ago. But it had been years...
The pondering was cut off by being thrust into another dance, this time with the Gryffindor that said she would be their second. "So a duel later then, as this was five years in the making. What's your qualm with Gray?" The buzz of adrenaline and fury ached to escape under their skin. They needed to be paired with Elsi soon. He would be the one person here who would understand Dori's anger. Especially as they were never one for violence unless absolutely necessary. And teenage vengeance was absolutely necessary in this case.
It was only a moment after the question that a glob of wax barely missed the both of them, falling between the two of them. "Oh-" Before they could even think of a spell to cast, Evelynn expertly spun Dori out of the way of future drippings. They couldn't help the small blush that dashed across their cheeks. They were not- used to being danced with like this, and a part of them couldn't help but wonder if that was the magic or Eve just being really good at dancing. "Oh, Evelynn. That was- unexpected." It seemed like they pulled out their wands and casted the bubble Jinx simultaneously. "Ebublio." This might be a mighty alliance growing indeed.Action || Casting the Bubble Jinx at the Candle⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛

Ghosts. Well, not literal ghosts.
@Aly Salinger; his ex-girlfriend, who was looking particularly stunning in a red ensemble. He knew she was on the camp committee this year, but he hadn't thought about actually running into her at one of these. They had been broken up for a long time now and there were no lingering feelings, but they hadn't spoken in years now. Being forced into a dancing arrangement here would just be awkward. His gaze lingered for a moment, but his eyes were soon pulled to another ghost in the crowd. @Akari Kato. A mild grimace crossed Aaron's face at the sight of her, remembering their last encounter. It had been unpleasant, to say the least. The younger girl had gone rather crazy after he chose Opeila over her. While he wasn't proud of how he had treated Akari, he felt strongly that it was as much her fault as it was his that things had ended the way they had. For a split second, Aaron worried that maybe Lindsey would be in the crowd, but no. There was a sight for sore eyes, instead.
Akari had been paired with Amina. The sight of the Durmstrang witch was definitely a distraction. She was wearing a very frilly pink ensemble that was very non-Amina. He instantly knew what this meant, and his grimace was replaced by a mildly amused look. It seemed if he and Amina got paired together, she was prepared to give the crowd a show. That would be something.
Finally, Aaron's brown gaze located his girlfriend in the crowd. Wait - was she blushing? Aaron hardly had time to process that she had been paired with Cassius Eden before he felt a hand on his arm that shook his attention. His brown eyes returned to Pericles, unsure what had prompted this.

INTERACTIONS @Dorion Anderson | MENTIONING @Winnie Harper @Percival Gray
───•─•────────────────────────────────────•─•───
Not only was Winnie the most suited—in Evelynn's opinion—for a regency themed ball, she was also likely the most contradictory to her own appearance. She was far stronger than her pink-adoring strawberry-petite stature had any right of being. It was a fact that the Gryffindor was already well acquainted with the girl's skills as a Quidditch beater, and was put on full display once again in the moment as she rushed to handily intercept Anderson's attempted strike. The shocked aversion was only all too apparent on their countenance as they wrenched their hand free of Winnie's grasp, and Evelynn could only prepare for an escalation of conflict. But, surprisingly, it didn't come. For once, her call for an early conclusion to a confrontation was heeded. No counter argument. No insistence. The only sign of continued disquiet was the promise that it wasn't over, coupled with an ominous observation.
Not actually having expected for an all-things-considered peaceful resolution, the ex-prefect almost didn't know what to say or do. So she simply emphasized, "Thank you." As Anderson backed off, stone-grey eyes slid back to regard Gray with ambivalence before ultimately falling upon Winnie. A valid question had been raised. Why would she defend someone like him. The corner of Evelynn's mouth twitched. Pride... Drakos... Gray... It was true that honey attracted flies, but could she really be that ignorant not to recognize the pattern of surrounding herself with individuals of questionable morals? Her innocence would be her downfall. Unfortunately—or perhaps fortunately—Evelynn would not have the opportunity to dwell long upon this notion before the music started up and the compulsion to dance rose anew.
Again, she would allow herself to fall into the coaxing of the floor's enchantment, lithe athleticism allowing for her cat-like grace as she moved from barely registering one partner before moving to the next. Her movements were understated, embellishments restrained. Regardless of the orchestra's liveliness, it would be terribly unseemly to be so invested as to become breathless. Though that was a bit easier said than done, and she found herself wishing the dance leaned even further towards the regency theme. It would have been nice to be able to carry out a conversation to better acquaint herself with her peers under the guise of genial waltz. As such, by the time the music began to taper once more, Evelynn was a bit flushed, lips parted to keep her respirations even, and she couldn't help but breathy scoff as she found herself face to face with none other than the peer she had just told off, and who wasted no time in picking up where that confrontation had seemingly left off.
Before Evelynn could offer a response, however, something blurred between them. A glance down pegged a glob of melted wax upon the tile. Brows pinched, chin lifting to seek a source and noticed a candle floating over their heads, its lip split to allow a furious flow of molten wax not unlike the anger still wafting from Anderson to drip upon their heads. Without hesitation, Evelynn lifted her hand from where it had rested at Anderson's waist, took a slight step back while pulling on Anderson's other hand with her own lifted, guiding them into a spin that took the pair of them out of the immediate landing zone of hot wax in a small flurry of snowflakes cascading from Evelynn's gown. Of course, one could never quite trust that anything floating would remain exactly where it was. She had followed that up by swiftly withdrawing her wand from the glove of her opposite sleeve and directed it up towards the candle, incanting, "Ebublio." For half a second, she'd thought there an echo of some sort until she noticed that Anderson had likewise withdrawn their wand. It seemed the two had been of the same mind, concluding the safest means to deal with the candle while maintaining both its illumination and the general yule tide theme was to enclose it in an impervious bubble.
"Is this where I am supposed to say jinx?" A faint curl at the corner of Evelynn's mouth provided the first hint of genuine amusement that night. It would fade quickly though in light of the unaddressed query that still hung between them. "To answer your question.." Her gaze flickered in Gray's direction as she slipped her wand back out of sight. "..it is not so much a qualm as it is that he is a repugnantly self-righteous individual who puts purebloods everywhere to shame with his general muggle intolerance and air of superiority." Her voice wasn't any louder than conversational. There was no attempt to project it or be overheard, but neither did she seem to mind if she was. She wasn't one to badmouth someone behind their back; she had little qualms with doing so to their face. The memory of their last encounter of significance was still all too fresh on her memory. Four months were not enough to erase the feeling of his boot on her chest, nor the press of his wand to her forehead. "I could never understand what it was that Santario saw in him. It is hardly a wonder that he was sorted into Slytherin. He is a snake, through and through."

Things truly came in a whirlwind of emotions as Winnie managed to wedge her body between Percival and Dorion. Adrenaline pumped through her veins, every beat of her heart drumming like thunder in her ears as her hand reached up to grab the fist diving through the air. "I..." She blinked up at the older student, shocked by their disgust despite the fact that she herself had disliked Percival up until the last Blossom Ball. "Dorion... Y-You're both my friends... I don't want either of you hurt."
Eve was at least on her side, it seemed. ... Until she expressed her desire to join Dorion in a duel against Percival. She balked over at the beautiful older girl, "W-What?! Evieee! That hardly seems fair. Besides, this is a ball, not a dueling match. C-Can you settle your disagreements in the appropriate setting?" She hadn't changed into her canine form, but Winnie's blue eyes were puppy dog pleading with the unrelenting duo.
"Are you... Are you okay?" The Ravenclaw would ask the Slytherin boy, her voice laced with concern as her eyes flickering over his form, searching for any sign of injury. When she was sure he was unharmed, her brows would furrow, hands on her hips. "Percival! What were you thinking? Don't just stand there when someone is trying to punch you!" She scolded, her tiny frame practically vibrating from anxiety. A flustered huff followed, but she stayed by his side, as if afraid Dorion would turn around to try and punch him again.
The music would soon pull all four of them apart, and Winnie found herself in a swirling symphony of melodies with a variety of people. Each meeting was fleeting, however, a brush of a hand before she had time to say hello or ask for a name. The entire experience made her head spin. Finally she was all but deposited in front of a strikingly beautiful redhead wearing a pink outfit. If Mathias were here he would have probably mistaken the vision for Winnie and kissed her on the spot. "H-Hi." Winnie managed to greet the other with a nervous giggle, "I'm Winnie. I like your outfit!"
Just a quick glance in Percival's direction to make sure he wasn't at risk of being punched again and-- WHO KEPT GIVING HIM THE MISTLETOE? Now he was under it with Opeila. She quickly turned to her partner. "You look beautiful tonight, I'm sure the boys have all told you how your eyes cannot rival the stars, but I just have to take care of something right quick-- Ventus!" Winnie cast the Wind Jinx at the mistletoe hovering over Percival and Opeila. Hopefully the damn thing would just blow away and stop bugging her friends.

┏ ┓ Peri was content that the conflict ended as quickly as it began. Eve had chimed in, sharing his frustration over the dance almost immediately devolving into the magical equivalent of a barfight, as they often did. He had trailed her and Aly like a royal guard to the floor, appraising her gown in speechless awe, internally lamenting how useless that eclectic mind of his became when the redhead dressed to the nines. She was adorned like a queen with a commanding tone to match. Winnie's voice lent its pull, pleading with them not to fight, and together they defused the disruptive tension. Odd- he'd never noticed the striking similarities between them under their contrasting airs.
Pericles leveled a steady stare on Aaron, watching the boy's attention jump from his prosthetic, to his cheek, to meeting his gaze. A lovely smile and polished charisma did nothing to sway the steely look he maintained. Stoicism hung over him like a shroud, veiling his thoughts and opinions in the same way his spell staved off dripping wax. Either he didn't intend to say anything at all, or he was taking his time finding the right words. Aaron's compliment for his costume was answered by a faintly forced "Thank you." Aaron commented on the misfortune of dripping wax, and Pericles only offered a half-heartedly agreed "Mmh." He was utilizing all of the noble decorum in his system to save face, but even then, scorn gleamed through the mask's cracks.
Aaron looked directly at Aly and Pericles bristled. He reached to lightly clasp his shoulder, leaned in until his kiss-stained cheek brushed the shell of Aaron's ear, and whispered "If the floor leads you to Aly, step off to the sideline. I've worked too hard to carry her out of the state you left her in. Go find punch, or something." As the Ravenclaw pulled away, he could be witnessed wearing an expression practically unseen at Hogwarts: a trace curl of the upper lip with eyes hooded in disdain. Pericles was a bulwark, indifferent to Aaron's natural beauty, affection for the curly-haired stargazer equaled by his abhorrence for any who wronged her. His fingers slithered off of Aaron's arm as the spell drew them apart, that glower of repulsion eventually obscured by passing dancers.
In an effort to distract himself, Pericles tried to track the enchantment, seeing if he could determine its duration along with the pattern of the dancers. He surmised he could evaluate who he would be partnered with next. Not that it mattered- he noted no one else he'd be bothered spinning with, save his previous partner, so he pretended not to have a preference. Again he caught a glimpse of glittering white passing by, only to watched her whirl into the arms of another, tracing the gust of snow spiraling in her wake when- "Hullo again, Cassius." Pericles had at least reached another tentmate, one of the Circinus denizens he knew the least about, despite their shared year. He wagered their time together at camp might change that, for better or for worse. Unlike his writer's problem child over in Group #9, he had the decency to declare: "I don't know about you, but I'm not going to let a plant tell me when to kiss someone."
He'd like to get to know him, but that took breaking the ice a little too far for his tastes.┗ ┛ Absolutely not kissing CassiusReducioPerfectionist I & II, Keen Eye, Spell Spread, Animagus, Blindvision

Interacting with: @Pericles Dralt, @Elsian Cox
Mentioning: @Opeila Winters, @Aly Salinger, @Dorion Anderson
Aaron barely registered the hands that latched onto his as his dance partners changed. His mind was consumed with what Pericles had just said. What the hell was that about? The Hufflepuff could feel himself getting worked up about this, his whole mood soured by the interaction. Who the fuck did Pericles think he was? He had no idea what had happened between him and Aly. No one did. Aaron didn't even fully understand it himself, but he had accepted that and moved on a long time ago. He imagined Aly had done the same, so what the fuck was Pericles on about? Dredging up stuff he had no business being in? For fuck's sake.
Aaron took a deep breath as he whirled around the dance floor, trying to calm his emotions. He imagined the people he was dancing with the last minute were thrown off by his demeanor, so he really tried to ground himself again. Breathe in, breathe out. Whatever stick Pericles had up his arse was none of Aaron's business. He was here to dance and to have a good time, not to get his whole night ruined by some nosey prat.
At last the music stopped, landing Aaron across from Elsian Cox.
"Hello, Elsian," Aaron greeted, offering a small smile to the other teen. The two of them knew of each other from being in the same year, but they had not interacted much outside of classes. However, Aaron was friends with Dorion so he knew that they were dating and they were pretty happy together. That made Elsian good people in Aaron's book, so he would treat him with familiarity. But he'd thought Pericles was cool people too. Aaron just hoped there was no underlying anger or resentment between himself and Elsian that he had no idea about - Pericles had clearly messed up his psyche for the evening. Damn.
"You got any tips for getting wax off of clothes? Seems the candles here are a bit drippy," Aaron said, gesturing to the wax that had fallen on his shoulder the round before. It was only then that he thought to look up, seeing another dripping candle. "Oh shit, not again-"
