Physical Description: Marcus stands with a slim frame, at 4 feet 9 inches tall. He has short brown hair around the back and sides, but on top it's slightly longer and parted to the right. His ears, which appear slightly too big, also stick out slightly. A clear complexion makes way for rosey cheeks. He has neat angular eyebrows that sit atop a pair of brown eyes and a button nose above small pink lips that stretch across his face in a customary smile. His straight, white teeth are housed in a diamond-shaped jaw.

Mental Description: Marcus grew up in a loving home with both parents and two younger siblings. Due to this, he acts slightly older due to his self-imposed responsibility for his brother and sister. He enjoys a good fiction book, but he also loves to go and explore the countryside. While his explorations are usually done solo, he does have a somewhat large group of friends (for an eleven-year-old) in the village he grew up in, comprising children from both magical and muggle families.

History

Marcus was born three months premature, on the First of June 2013, to Michael Gabriel and Eliza Summers. The Gabriel family have, until Marcus, been a pure-blood family, though they don't take much stock in bloody purity. His father is a pure-blood, while his mother is a half-blood. He was raised on a country estate outside of Hardwick, Cambridgeshire. A number of wizarding families, though maybe not quite as well-off as the Gabriels, also called Hardwick home, so Marcus spent his early years with good company.

When he was four, the family welcomed twins—a boy and a girl. The subject was broached early on whether all the children (from the other families, too) should be homeschooled, but ultimately it came down to them wanting the children to experience childhood properly and not in an isolated room with a small class size, and with the way the wizarding world was heading, they wanted them all to be able to socialise with muggles, so they were sent to the local primary school, Hardwick Community Primary School.

Marcus' first instance of accidental magic was when he was five. He'd been quietly reading his way through one of his books, his mother pottering around the ground floor's many rooms, his brother and sister, 14 months old, on the sofa entertaining each other as they usually did, when he'd noticed things had gotten too quiet. He had just glanced up from his book and noticed his sister, almost in slow motion, topple head-first off the sofa. Marcus raised a hand and cried out in alarm, and the large pile of decorative throw rugs by the side of the sofa slid forward on the hard wood floor. His mother had walked into the room at that same moment with her hands full, carrying the twins' lunch, as the little girl somersaulted onto the soft wool pile.
