Potion | Essence of Dittany
Ingredients required | 1 fluid ounce of Dittany Extract, 2 Shrake Spines, 10 fluid ounces of Water, 3 tablespoons of Flobberworm Mucus, 3 measures of Standard Ingredient, 2 Dittany Leaves
Roleplay (200 words min) | 679 words
ReducioChecking her calendar, the Hufflepuff hospital wing intern made a note that she had a couple more weeks until the last healing potion that she had brewed would start to mature. Apparently, bones were not easy to heal! However, since she had some free time, she figured that this would be a great time to stock up on some more healing supplies - especially one that was a lot easier to brew. By easier, she mostly meant faster in truth. Who wanted to wait for a full moon and weeks before getting a stupid potion? Okay, the potion was actually rather smart. That was probably why it took so much effort. But still! Serena’s patience for this stuff was definitely limited and she was not about to try that again.
Propping up her textbook against a stack of the other books, she flipped through it until she found the Essence of Dittany, which she recognised was an incredibly useful one to have to hand. Running her fingers across the page, she started to mutter each ingredient on repeat to make sure that she had everything. With a firm nod of confirmation to herself, she grabbed some Dittany Extract and added it to the cold cauldron that was already on the desk. Grabbing a mortar from the classroom equipment, she added the Shrake Spines into it and started to crush it. Every so often, she’d stop and just double-check that the powder was not too fine as it was meant to be sort of coarse. Getting the balance of “being crushed enough to be considered powder” and not “crushed too much that it’s no longer coarse” was the tricky balance here.
Trying to keep it coarse, Serena added the powder in as soon as she thought it was probably okay and then started a flame under the cauldron with a wave of her wand, setting it to a high temperature. Waving her wand once more - this time over the cauldron - she then left it to brew.
Not wanting to leave it alone, Serena sat down nearby with some parchment and started to scribble down some of her other to-dos and be conscious of things that she had to make time for. This was a full list, essentially like a planner, to help her get more organised. After brewing a few potions, she realised just how difficult it was and how much it sucked to not be prepared. If she had been, she could have planned to brew Skelegro months ago or chosen a better potion to brew!
About 17 minutes into her random scribbles, long to do list creating and idea drafting - most of which she would probably end up forgetting about or ignoring anyway - she noticed that there was a lot less liquid than previously in the potion when she looked over at it. Getting up, she made her way over to it and observed it a bit more closely, noting that a lot had evaporated it would seem. As such, she lowered the heat to a medium. Pointing her finger to a vial, she cast "Aguamenti" wandlessly and allowed it to fill up to about ten ounces of water. It ended up being a little more - about eleven - so she had to throw a little out until it was right. Pouring the ten fluid ounces into the cauldron, she then stirred three times in a counterclockwise motion, added three tablespoons of Flobberworm Mucus and started to stir again - this time counting to five. Was she done? No. She added three measures of Standard Ingredient, stirred once more but in a clockwise direction and then turned the heat off, threw in two Dittany leaves to the cauldron and eagerly picked up her wand as she waited for them to sink.
It seemed to take forever. At least it felt that way. Once they had fully sunk to the bottom, she waved her wand over the cauldron and voila! Serena started to bottle up the completed potion into little glass vials for storage.

Potion | Asklepion Ambrosia
Ingredients required | Size 4 cauldron, Size 5 cauldron, Pliers, 12 fl. oz. of Salamander Blood, 1 Bezoar, 1 Unicorn Horn, 1 bunch of Betony, 2 drops Essence of Dittany, 4 Centaury Leaves, 1 Dragon Liver, 1 teaspoon of Giant Purple Toad Warts, 6 fl. oz. of Doxy Venom, 3 fl. oz. Acromantula Venom, 2 Venomous Tentacula Leaves, 2 drops Wormwood Essence, 4 flowers of Hemlock, 1 Gryphon Feather, Blood
Roleplay (200 words min) | 1151 words
ReducioHjørdis Jensen was no stranger to the world of potions. It was something she had studied a lot in the past and if she had not become the Head of Slytherin many years ago, she would have probably owned a little alchemist somewhere by now. Then again, she also would not be in need of some of these potions. Asklepion Ambrosia, for instance, was a potion that she did not really have much of a need for - until she started working here and most of the students got cursed by hags. That was a time she would not easily forget.
With zero hesitation, the professor had set up her personal size 4 cauldron, flicking her wand to get the ingredients out onto the table. She did not need the recipe to know how to brew it - this was a potion that she had been brewing for several years now, as soon as they discovered a need for it. Taking out a small vial of Doxy Venom, she poured six ounces of the fluid into the cauldron before adding about half the amount in Acromantula Venom, and just two drops of Wormwood Essence.
With another flick of her wrist, she waved her wand over the liquid and started to heat the cauldron to a medium temperature. Her actions were methodic, almost as though they had been rehearsed through many years of practice. She picked up the spoon, giving a single stir in a clockwise motion where the spoon touched all sides of the cauldron with ease after waiting exactly ninety seconds.
Hjørdis carefully took two Venomous Tentacula Leaves, which she dropped into the potion after thirty seconds. As she waited for the leaves to settle to the bottom, she took a handful of Hemlock Flowers out of her ingredients and set them to one side to use in a short while. It was the last ingredient she would need for the day - at least for this potion.
Once the leaves had sunk, the silver-haired head of house raised the heat of the cauldron, from medium up to a high temperature. She stirred exactly sixteen times in a smooth counterclockwise motion before leaving the concoction to brew on its own for eight minutes.
During these eight minutes, she started to gather ingredients for the next potion she would brew today. There was no waiting around. Every minute was used carefully with her actions, as though it had been preplanned what she would be brewing in the few hours she had to spare each week. The Golden Potion simply required a little more forethought than most other potions and luckily, her organisational skills were rather topnotch. They sort of had to be when managing so many students who had a deathwish.
As soon as the eight minutes were up, she removed the flame from under the cauldron taking it off the heat and added the four Hemlock Flowers she had picked out a little earlier. With that, she waved her wand once more over the mixture and covered the cauldron with its lid, leaving it to one side to ferment. Until then, she started to work on the next potion, replenishing the potion supplies that she - or the school - had. She would return shortly before the witching hour on the sixth day to finish the potion.
Once the potion had fermented on her return - rather late at night as it was approaching the witching hour (thank gosh that professors don’t have curfew like students do!), the head of house set up her Size 5 Pewter Cauldron for the second stage of this concoction.
She added twelve liquid ounces of Salamander Blood to it and then flicked her wand to start a flame under it, raising the heat to high. Once the potion heated up, she waited for it to boil, ready to lower the temperature. As soon as the first bubble popped, she quickly reduced it to a low temperature where it would be able to simmer and then picked up a Bezoar, taking a small step back.
From precisely a foot above the cauldron, she dropped the Bezoar into the potion - expecting the splash of blood, which was why she took a step back to prevent it from hitting her white clothing. Why did she wear white-coloured robes more often than not? Who knew. It was rather inconvenient for moments like this though but she had gotten used to it and wary of the splatter, had managed to avoid getting hit by it.
For the next eighteen minutes, whilst it simmered, she started to work on the rest of the brew. Bringing her mortar and pestle closer, she added twenty-one Betony Petals and a single Unicorn Horn into the mortar and began crushing them in a firm but smooth motion until the ingredients had crushed into a fine powder. Hjørdis removed the Bezoar after the eighteen minutes had passed using a pair of pliers and quickly added three generous pinches of the fine powder that she had just crushed into the concoction.
She raised the heat once more, this time to a medium and stirred clockwise once, then anti-clockwise once, repeating this pattern to five stirs. Each rotation was three heartbeats apart. Then she left it to simmer.
Picking up the next set of ingredients: Dittany, Centaury Leaves, Dragon Liver and Giant Purple Toad Warts, she brought them all closer - placing them on the large workspace in front of her.
Picking up the dittany, she extracted the essence and put two drops of it into the concoction after it had simmered for three minutes. Then she counted to eighteen whilst gathering the next leaves - which were four Centaury Leaves, uncut and unripped. Those were placed in after the count. Picking up the Dragon Liver, she took another step back and held it over the pewter cauldron. Holding it in both hands, she started to wring it roughly and squeezed the blood and bile into the cauldron before setting it aside. Raising the heat slightly to a low medium, Hjørdis continued to work on the potion, following each step that she had memorised methodically.
There was a stage where she had to leave the potion to brew for 21 minutes during the recipe, at which time, she started to work on the next potion to utilise her time best - making sure the timing of them worked out perfectly.
The main issue with this one was that the potion could not be stored in vials but rather, had to be kept in the pot and served directly from there. Once the potion was completed, she stored it in a dark, damp and cool spot in a small storeroom to ensure that the quality of the potion did not change. This would allow someone to serve it directly from the potion should it ever be needed.

Potion | Potion for Dreamless Sleep
Ingredients required | Pot with lid, Standard size 2 cauldron, 1 bunch of Sage, 1 Snake, 4 strands of Unicorn Hair, 3 Rose Petals, 1 bottle of Wine, 2 Billywig Stings
Roleplay (200 words min) | 563 words
ReducioHjørdis did not have the best sleep habits, largely down to her sleeping patterns and behaviours. One thing she had always kept on hand for many years now was the Potion for Dreamless Sleep. Dreams were more like nightmares sometimes and getting night terrors was no one’s idea of fun. This was precisely why the head of Slytherin had felt some sympathy for a young Gryffindor who claimed they were unable to sleep due to their nightmares. She understood - even if she did not convey that in their meeting, mostly because she did not want to convey that. It was easier to make people believe she was flawless and scary.
This was not a potion she drank often but she did keep it for desperate times and measures. The only downside to this potion was that the ingredients were a little grim to work with. Putting on an apron - to avoid getting the mess over her clothing - Hjørdis picked up the dead snake, grabbed a clean sharp knife and sliced off its head in a clean sweep. Defanging the snake's head, she kept a couple of fangs aside and then picked up the body, making an incision along the centre of the snake's belly and then removing the skin. Taking the guts out, she then washed the snake meat in cool water. With a quick flick of her wrist, she started to heat up the pot to a medium-high heat.
After thoroughly washing the meat, she started to thinly slice it into small chunks. She started to cook the meat in the pot, almost like she was actually preparing food. The meat browned and she poured an entire wine bottle into the pot. Waiting for the concoction to start bubble slightly, Hjørdis lowered the heat a little - so it was more of a low-to-medium temperature. Then she threw in four strands of Unicorn Hairs into the cauldron, pausing for a second to roll her eyes as a thought occurred to her.
Stirring twice in a clockwise motion, she then covered the pot with the lid and left it to simmer. On the other side, she started to chop up some sage rather roughly and then went to work on the next potion. After twenty minutes of simmering, she returned to add the chopped-up Sage into the pot and covered it once more, heading back to work on the other potion.
After ten minutes, she returned to remove the pot from the heat and replaced it with a cauldron that she started to heat to a medium heat whilst the former pot cooled. Picking up a strainer, she was careful to strain the liquid into the cauldron - making sure that the meat isn't transferred. Adding the two Snake Fangs and the two Billywig Stings into the cauldron, she then stirred anti-clockwise three times. Waving her wand over the potion.
She left it to brew and worked on the other potions - for exactly 17 minutes - before returning and adding rose petals to the cauldron. Turning off the heat, she left it for a few moments to clean up the workspace and check on the other potions. Once the petals had fully submerged, she returned and waved her wand over it to complete the potion. With that, she poured them out and bottled it up into three beautiful glass vials.

Potion | Exstimulo Potion
Ingredients required | 1 Standard size 2 cauldron, 2 whole bitterroots, 7 fl. oz. water, 3 sprigs of thyme, 1 strand of Granian hair, 1 fl. oz. Re’em blood, 4 snowdrops, vinegar to taste
Roleplay (200 words min) | 526 words
ReducioContinuing her potion-brewing spree, the head of Slytherin opted for the Exstimulo potion this time. It was a potion that was known to increase magical strength and provide a rather large boost to one's power. This seemed like it would be incredibly useful in a pinch - should the professors ever be faced with another crisis, such as their many covens of hags that had apparently decided Hogwarts was their home. In such fights - because they were literally fights - taking all the help you could get was only smart and she did love her potions. More than that, if she brewed several now, she could also give them to comrades should they need it.
With a flick of her wand, a fire lit under the empty size 2 cauldron that was on another workspace. On the other workspaces, she was working on multiple other potions. The cauldron started to heat up to a medium-high heat. Grabbing a knife, Hjørdis picked up an entire bitterroot and started to slice it into thin slices before slicing another one. Her movements were almost expert in nature, as though she was a professional chef. She was not but she had spent many years cooking and was rather efficient at it - if she did say so herself, which she certainly did.
Adding the sliced bitterroots into the cauldron once it had started to heat up. Searing the slices, she stirred every so often until they turned to a toasty brown in colour. She poured in exactly seven ounces of water, which she filled up from a tap rather than using magic, and added thyme to the mixture before letting it brew for a while.
After seventeen minutes, she reduced to heat to low and allowed the potion to start cooling down slightly. Taking the Granian hair, she plaited it into a thin braid and added it to the concoction and then raised the temperature to medium to bring the potion to a simmer.
For the next thirty-three minutes, whilst she waited for that to brew, she returned to work on the other potions. Then she returned, taking the cauldron off the heat and started to slowly stir in Re'em blood until the potion was an ultramarine blue colour. Returning it back to the medium heat, she carefully took the braid out before adding twenty-four snowdrop petals, one by one. Each of them was added exactly thirty seconds apart. The colour kept changing. Once all twenty-four had been added, she stirred clockwise repeatedly until they had all dissolved into the potion, which became a sky-blue colour at this stage. A few drops of vinegar lately - just for a bit of taste but not to be overpowering - she took it back off the heat and waved her wand once more to complete the potion.
She poured the potion into two separate vials, sealing them for use later and storing them away. She swirled one of them in the air for a moment, appreciating the beautiful colour of the liquid and the way it moved. It was like looking into someone's very blue eyes and it was rather mesmerising.

Potion | Strengthening Solution
Ingredients required | Copper Cauldron, 8 fl. oz. salt water, ginger, 1 Griffin claw, 6 fl. oz. pomegranate juice, 2 fingers’ length Erumpent tail, 1 measure of frog spawn, 1 fl. oz. Salamander blood, three drops of moondew
Roleplay (200 words min) | 714 words
ReducioIf there was a potion that she probably needed to drink much of but also did not really need, it was the Strengthening Solution. She was physically not the strongest person - though she would never actually admit to being 'weak'. Yet, she had made the incredibly smart decision of almost seeking out physically strong people and getting them to do things for her, so she did not have to worry. She was literally surrounded by people who had muscles for days and clearly, that was how she picked her friends or company - Marcus Iwasaki or Caradoc Browne were great examples of that. If either of them asked, however, this potion was definitely for her to just beat them in an arm wrestle. Because - obviously - one of these solutions and she could easily best them.
The truth was that the potions were ones that she planned to store away with the Exstimulo potions for the same reason. They were to be used in emergencies - or when they decided to go to war once more. She had seen too much that day that broke her heart and that was not a mistake she could afford to make twice. They would be more equipped next time, fully stocked with potions and a full team - and hopefully fewer curses.
Taking a clean knife, she started to dice ginger root into fine squares before crushing it with the flat of the knife until it became more like a paste. She filled the cauldron with eight liquid ounces of salt water and lit a fire underneath. Bringing it to a boil by setting it on a high heat, she added two measures of the ginger paste that she had created earlier and then turned the heat down to a medium temperature, letting it simmer for a short while.
Whilst it was simmering for five minutes, she took the Griffin claw, placed it into a mortar and started to grind it until the claw turned into a fine powder. Once the five minutes had passed, she slowly sift the fine powder into the cauldron and observed the silvery steam that came off it. Taking the spoon, she started to stir slowly in a clockwise direction until the powder had dissolved fully. Then she let it simmer for twelve minutes, until she noticed the clear turquoise colour - which is when she took it off the heat.
With that, she left it to the side and left it to mature for a few days. Finishing up the rest of the potion work for the day, she then cleaned up her workspaces and area before leaving for the evening.
Hjørdis returned three days later to check on it. She heat the potion to a medium temperature, before adding in pomegranate juice and leaving it to simmer for a few minutes. Whilst it did that, she took the Erumpent Tail and cut it lengthwise, into four pieces and tied a simple knot into each of the sections.
Once the potion was ready, she raised the heat and waited for it to start boiling. As it started to boil, she added the pieces to it and a single measure of frog spawn too, before reducing the heat to a medium. Stirring twice clockwise, she waited exactly sixty seconds before stirring three times counterclockwise, waiting another minute and then repeating this thrice. Then she reduced the heat a little more, removed the tail and frog intestines. Slowly, she poured some blood into it. Gosh, this potion was kind of a grim one, wasn't it? She was a little glad that she did not have to drink it. Maybe she shouldn't tell the boys what was in it... though they probably knew. Stirring clockwise carefully, she quickly finished off the potion by adding three drops of moondew that were exactly three breathes apart between each one. The colour of the concoction changed from a turquoise, darkening into a teal colour.
Once she took it off the heat and finished it with a bit of magic, she vialed it up into two small glass bottles. Exactly two of them. That was perfect - they could have one each should the need for this ever rise. Though she did hope it would not.

Potion: Strengthening Solution
Ingredients: Copper Cauldron, 8 fl. oz. salt water, ginger, 1 Griffin claw, 6 fl. oz. pomegranate juice, 2 fingers’ length Erumpent tail, frog intestines of 1 frog, 1 fl. oz. Salamander blood, three drops of moondew
Roleplay:
ReducioIf there was one thing Amadea could accept as a shortcoming, it was the fact that she was not very strong. Of course, the measure in which she compared herself too was a bit skewed, as she found herself most comparing to her fellow housemate and best friend, Ami Procoppio, who was a brute of a girl. Amadea herself was quite twiggish, and she had always been okay with being less than average in the strength department. After all, she had her wand. Why did she need to be able to physically beat someone up when she could just hex them into oblivion?
Maybe it was Amadea's growing anxiety about the future, but she was feeling the need to be prepared for anything, and an important part of being prepared was having the ability to fight someone with her bare hands if she needed to. Of course, her solution wasn't necessarily 100% genuinely bare hands...instead she was going to brew a potion. The strengthening solution, of course. This potion was going to be especially difficult to brew, she knew, because it required two separate parts of brewing. She had come early to prepare the first part. As she flipped open the instructions, she grabbed a knife so she could dice the ginger root and then crush it into a paste with the flat edge. Once she had done that, she took some salt water and poured it into the cauldron before turning on the heat to bring it to a boil. Then, she added two measures of the paste she had previously created and turned the heat down to medium.
As she waited the proper five minutes, Amadea skimmed the directions to see if there was anything she could prepare ahead of time. She grabbed the mortar and pestle and the Griffin claw, using it to grind the claw into a fine powder. By the time she had completed that, the five minutes were up and she began slowly sifting the powder into the cauldron. As she did this, her vicinity was quickly surrounded in silvery steam. She then took a spoon and stirred the mixture clockwise until the powder was fully dissolved into the salt water/ginger mix. Then, she simmered the mixture for 12 minutes, in which time it turned a clear turquoise color. Then she took it off the heat, stored it on the edge of the counter and waited 3 days for it to mature before coming back.
3 days later
Amadea was ready for the second half of brewing this potion. She was excited to test it out, too. Maybe she would challenge Ami to a fistfight...or an arm wrestle or something less dangerous. Thinking about the incredulous look on her friend's face when Amadea would beat her at the arm wrestle made her giddy to finish this concoction. She opened the instructions to where she had left off and began pre-heating the potion to medium heat before she poured in the pomegranate juice and let the mixture simmer for 7 minutes. During this time, she grabbed a knife and sliced the Erumpent tail into four lengthwise pieces, tying a simple knot in each. At this point, seven minutes had passed, so she added the Erumpent tail pieces and frog spawn to the mix. Then she turned the heat down to medium, stirred the mixture twice clockwise, counted to sixty, stirred it three times counterclockwise, counted to sixty again, and then repeated this process three times. Then, she reduced the heat even further to low, subsequently removing the Erumpent tail and frog intestines. She unscrewed the salamander blood, slowly pouring it in and stirring carefully in a clockwise direction before adding drops of moondew, waiting three breaths in between each drop. The color of the potion began to quickly darken from turquoise to teal as she did this. Then she removed the cauldron from the heat, waving her wand over the mixture to seal it and at last, it was complete!

Potion: Amortentia
Ingredients: 2 measures of Pearl Dust, 9 strands of Granian Hair, 3 sprigs of Lavender, 7 sprigs of Mint, 4 Alihotsy Leaves, 1 Peacock Feather, 1 bottle of Wine, 12 Belladonna berries
Roleplay:
ReducioAmortentiaThe usual clutter of parchment was cast aside for a makeshift brewing station; Phaedra’s designated desk groaning under the weight of a capacious copper cauldron. Given its rather delicate nature, potioneering in a dormitory of all places came with uncountable risks, but none were quite as dreaded as the subject matter itself.
Amortentia.
Phaedra wrung her hands hesitantly before they tightened into determined fists. Amortentia, or love-potion, had a reputation not unlike the darkest of curses. Herself being an aspiring practitioner of mental magic—and an even bigger advocate for self-preservation—she believed that studying the effects of both potion and antidote were paramount for survival. And in a smaller sense, Phaedra supposed she was rather morbidly curious. Just how was Love magic so esteemed, anyway? That was all rather cliché, wasn’t it?
Questions for later. With a forceful pull, the blue curtains draping near flung away from the flame to be lit. Merlin knew that she had seen enough fires here for a lifetime. Knives too, Phaedra thought as she took blade to Belladonna berries, crushing them for extraction. An aged mortar would collect the juice as instructed, her brown eyes darting between concoction and recipe in the natural lighting. Chopped lavender joined the juice to form paste, and then into the cauldron the mixture went.
Lavender was renowned for its aroma, and it only intensified after medium heating. Seconds ticked as Phaedra wrestled with stuck cork, the wine a generous favour from her of-age cousin. She hadn’t drank from it, of course, unwilling to jeopardise her enrolment. The half-emptying was his doing, but what remained was enough to accommodate. A third of the rich red stirred into the main cauldron, and another third with pearl dust into a separate pewter. As both simmered, Phaedra found herself dizzying with intellectual excitement.
After the wait of simmering and preparation for the next step, it took little to reorient herself back to the task at hand, her progress evident. Within the copper cauldron the Amortentia appeared to adopt its typical pink colour. Close, so very close to completion, and with a blend of giddy pride towards a new achievement and respect for Amortentia’s power, Phaedra added strands of Granian hair and swiftly replaced the cauldron’s lid.
Last was the handling of the pewter basin. Phaedra made a face at the call for another serving of wine, a myriad of growing concerns now among her thoughts. Had the previous two-thirds not been enough? She shook her head as she tore through sprigs of mint, half-convinced that if not for century-old research proving otherwise, this potion could very well be snake oil; drunkenness the true culprit for its resulting obsessions.
As twenty minutes came to pass, she removed both cauldrons from their heat. The pewter’s contents splashed into that of the copper cauldron’s, now reheating, with Alihotsy leaves and Belladonna skins stirred twice counter-clockwise. Now joined with her cat rubbing against an ankle, Phaedra traced her free hand along the open book. High heat, peacock feather—of which she sacrificed her own quill—and a last helping of pearl dust requiring dissolving were the text’s final instructions.
In Phaedra’s hands, illuminating a most irresistible glow, was one dose of the world’s most potent love-potion. She stared in deep awe, twisting the vial between her fingers. A lovely iridescent hue danced within its glass vessel, and yet a fragrance escaped nonetheless. Ocean air for her life at sea; cinnamon for an unabashed sweet-tooth; Maxwell’s cologne for a bond most eternal. Dark lashes bat, the girl almost inebriated in the fumes, each inhale slower and deeper than the last as if to forever confine their pleasant sensations within her very being. Sudden activity behind the door stirred her awake and reeling upon the realisation. This was not one to take lightly. In a series of swift motions, the vial was enclosed in storage and kicked beneath her bed.
This dose, in particular, was never to see the light of day for any reason short of her own analysis.

Axyen also learned about Babbling Beverage thanks to professor Regan's class, Axyen saw a perfect opportunity to play a small prank on the professor. Axyen walked past the wall one time. A private place to make potions... Axyen thought, turning around and passing the wall a second time. Axyen brought his textbook, cauldrons, and paid for the necessary ingredients to brew Babbling Beverage, Axyen was excited to brew the potion, so Axyen turned for the final time, taking a few more steps, suddenly, the walls began shaking as it revealed a door. Even though Axyen read about the Room of Requirement but no amount of studying could help Axyen prepare for the magical experience entering the Room of Requirement. Axyen grabbed the doorknob and turned it, opening. Axyen pushed the door open, the space looked like the Potions classroom, a perfect place for brewing a potion. Axyen looked around, genuinely shocked by the environment around him. Axyen placed the cauldron first, Axyen earlier had placed the tools he would need inside the cauldron, so he took them out, Brass and scales and a mortar. Axyen got ready to start making this potion.
Axyen put the dried poppy head in the mortar and kept crushing it until it turned into powder, just as the instructions said, Axyen read the instructions over and over, and despite seemingly knowing them by heart, Axyen still had a bad feeling so brought the textbook anyways so Axyen still knew what to do in the event that he forgot the he needed to do. Axyen put the powder that was once dried poppy head into the cauldron, along with that, Axyen placed two(2) Valerian Sprigs into the cauldron, before stirring three(3) times counter-clockwise. Axyen brought his Protective Gloves as he put them on and added three(3) Aconite Blossoms to the cauldron. Axyen proceeded to take out his wand and wave it, just as the instructions said. Axyen left the potion to brew for thirty(30) minutes before he added a Unicorn Hair which was really expensive neutralized the poisonous effects of the potion. Axyen proceeded to look at the textbook again, he looked back at the cauldron, stirring three(3) times counter-clockwise. Axyen added one(1) sprig of Dittany to the cauldron, then he stirred five(5) times, counter-clockwise. Axyen was surprised nothing blew up, maybe he wasn't that bad as potions, as he originally thought.
Axyen was excited, this was the final step into completing his first potion outside of the classroom, Axyen took out his wand once again and waved it, Axyen knew a lot about Babbling Beverage and did make it for a prank, but this was a proud moment for Axyen, as he finally could do a weird victory dance, good thing he was in the Room of Requirement and not the Room of Judgement, Axyen knew what this meant, he took a crystal phial and contained the contents of the cauldron or better yet, Babbling Beverage and now Axyen could cause some fun, yet harmless mischief.
However, Axyen needed to test the potion out somehow, Axyen remembered how professor Regan took out a spoon and just spoke, yet the potion didn't last too long. Maybe Axyen could test it like that? Only if there was a convenient spoon in a drawer, Axyen didn't know why he looked around the Room of Requirement, but there ended up being a small spoon which allowed Axyen to drop a bit of the Babbling Beverage and with the spoon Axyen drank some of it. "Allreiighte..." Axyen was stunned, he couldn't speak properly, he tried harder. "IIisswe ieewetyt wwwrroouukiuuuunnng?" Axyen wanted to laugh, but felt that him laughing while under the effects would be slightly weird, thankfully, because Axyen only drank a small amount which he scooped up with a spoon, the effect didn't last much longer. "There we go." Axyen said, smiling to himself. Time to properly plan this prank. Axyen thought to himself, as he left the Room of Requirement, but this certainly wouldn't be Axyen's last visit to the Room of Requirement.

ReducioBefore starting her classes for the second year, Winona wanted to do a quick revision of her notes from the previous year. While reading the notes, she was particularly intrigued by one of the potions. As she kept imagining all the situations the potion could be used, it did not take too long for the young girl to find herself standing in front of a cauldron with all the ingredients ready.
To start preparing the potion, Winona took three sprigs of Skurvy Grass and chopped them into tiny pieces. Then, she added two measures of the chopped grass into the cauldron.
For the next step, she put two sprigs of Lovage into a mortar and used a pestle to grind them into a paste. She added two measures of Standard Ingredient to the mortar and combined it thoroughly with the Lovage-paste. Once the mixture was well combined, she poured it into the cauldron. She then started to stir the contents of the cauldron, five times, in a clockwise motion. After stirring, she waved her wand over the cauldron let it sit for about 20 to 25 minutes.
After all that waiting, Winona adjusted the heat under the cauldron to 250 degrees and started counting seconds inside her head. Once she was done counting until 30, she reduced the heat to medium. Taking one sprig of Sneezewort, she tore it into pieces and added it to the cauldron. She stirred the potion once in an anti-clockwise direction.
Next, she grounded one sprig of Fluxweed until it formed a paste in the mortar. She added the Fluxweed paste to the cauldron and let the potion brew for 5 minutes.
To finally complete the potion, she waved her wand over the cauldron once again, adding a final touch of magic.
