It was Melvin's birthday. He was ten years old now. One step closer to going to the school his dad went to and wanted him to go to. Plus, his own birthday was also his dad's birthday, so it was also a day to honor his dad. He was excited, though he wasn't having a birthday party, he would be spending his birthday with his mother. Surely, nothing could go wrong, right?

He had no clue how wrong he was.

He went downstairs in an unusually good mood. He saw his mother in the kitchen, the stove sizzling, and two bagel halves had just popped out of the toaster next to a cup of orange juice. Without knowing he was there, his mother grabbed the bagels, scooped eggs and a sausage patty and then noticed he was there.
"Hi, Melvin!"
"Hey, mom!"
She asked him how he slept and told him a happy birthday. He ate his bagel sandwich, thanked his mom, and left to his room. He would soon return to open his presents, but for now he would have time to chill. So he did. His room was very large. He didn't know what presents he'd get, but he knew one, and it'd cost all the pain and struggle in his future...

Soon, he went back downstairs to open presents. His mother sang happy birthday, and he opened his presents. soon, there was one more in a box, not wrapped. He hesitated.
"Open it!" His mother exclaimed.
He shook his hand, ripped off the tape, opened the box and pulled out... a hunting knife.
His mother's smile faded. "Who gave you that?'
"Uncle Jaxon."
She shook her head. "No, I'm calling him-"
"Don't."
She looked at him.
"I asked him to give me that. It's not his fault."
His mother stared at him, then sighed.
"You can't keep taking the blame for people, Melly dear, you're-"
"BRO- listen." Melvin never actually called his mother "bro" before, but this wasn't before.
"Last time I was at his house-" He swallowed, "I asked for him to give me a hunting knife."
His mother opened her mouth, so Melvin continued to talk quickly.
"It's not his fault he wanted to be nice and make me happy on my birthday."
His mother stared him right in his brown eyes.
"MELVIN!" He said, bypassing "Melly". "Why do you want a hunting knife? To kill someone? Because you hate hunting for animals!"
He was taken aback. "WHAT? I want to protect myself!"
"Just yourself?!? What about your famil-"
Melvin interrupted. "WHAT FAMILY? Aunt Ebony died from drugs, Aunt Sarah's locked up, and dad took that shot for you like he played for the Lakers!"
His mother was getting mad. "I'm your mother! Know your-"
"Place? Huh? Know my place? Well, maybe my place isn't here!" He swatted his glass of sparkling cider so hard it slide off the table and hit the wall and shattered into a million pieces. Then he ran out the door and into the woods.

~~~~~~~~~
He made it about 4 steps before he regretted his choice. But in a matter of minutes, he was deep in the woods. He decided to turn back, but suddenly, something rustled in a bush. Probably just some stupid squirrel, he thought. But then something jumped out of a bush. It was a bit ahead of him, and staring at him.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!?" He yelled.
Then it happened so fast he didn't even have time to scream. He didn't remember much, but when he woke up, he was in a St. Mungos hospital bed. They told him the diagnosis.
So... Melvin was a dhampir. He now had retractable fangs and green eyes. His skin looked a bit lighter. He felt his sanity dropping by the minute. What would happen next? Only time would tell.
Giants. Some may call them majestic, some may call them dangerous. They have been called unintelligent, or half witted, but even so, like most creatures, it’s most interesting to see them interacting with humans. Especially when they breed, to create something…new. Of course, this is not a new concept. Dhampir, goblins, seers and other races have all bred with humans, but the fascinating thing with giants is the size difference. Going up to more than 20 feet, giants are massive, powerful creatures. What would people with giant ancestry even be like?
At a little more than 5’2 feet tall, and 85 pounds Lexie was always bigger than everyone her age. Actually, she was bigger than a lot of people older than her, which was one of her biggest insecurities. Growing up, she was often bullied for her being big, but she knew she wasn’t “fat” as so many people incorrectly stated. She was burly, hefty and strong which her father always told her was a good thing. He would tell her that the world wasn’t a safe place, and being strong was a definite advantage, not a weakness. But as a self conscious, unconfident 11 year old, she couldn’t believe him. Not when all she heard at school were the bullies and the jerks telling her she was supposed to be smaller, frail and “like other girls.” Lexie didn’t know how special she was, not yet.
An interesting fact is that Lexie despised wholeheartedly, is that her three siblings, didn't turn out like her, all big and burly, which didn't help with the exclusion she felt from people. Her father also would tell her about when she was in her mother’s stomach as a fetus, she knew Lexie was going to be different, and was proven right when she delivered Lexie. The delivery was difficult, but her mother was glad to see her darling daughter was healthy, because after all, that’s what matters. Her mother was also bigger than most women, nearing 5’8 but shrunk after her injuries.
She eventually went into sports, which was her absolute favorite thing to do. Since academics weren’t her forte, finding something she was actually good at and interested in, felt like she was in euphoria. It also helped that she finally made friends at her practices. Lexie somewhat understood what her father meant about turning her insecurities into advantages. From soccer, to basketball to hockey, to badminton, she won multiple awards, brought home prizes and even went to the regional championships. Before coming to Hogwarts, Lexie dreamed of becoming a sports player, in soccer or basketball.
Where exactly the giant ancestry came from was unknown to Lexie, though she suspected her mother knew, but was diagnosed with dementia before she could ask. When she eventually asked her father if he knew anything about it, he said he had a vague memory of his wife telling him it was her, great grandfather who was a giant, though his memory is known to be foggy.
Oliver stood in the open grass next to the Forbidden Forest. Opposite him was a 7th year student, one who had taking a liking to Oliver and chose to train him for many semesters now. It was during his third year of Hogwarts that Oliver met this older student through a recommendation from a professor. It was lead to from Oliver asking countless spellcasting questions after class and the professor eventually pointed towards one of their older, very gifted students and advised he take his questions to them for a change.
Now, two years later, well into 5th year, Oliver stood with his wand firmly gripped by his side. The boy wasn't in the dueling club, he didn't seek glory and he never felt he had anything to prove to an allotment of students who bullied him in his former years. He did however crave knowledge, which drove him to become a great caster of magic. And so he spent his weekends and after lesson hours sometimes training with one of the few people that gave him any attention at all.
"Expelliarmus!"
Oliver launched a charm at his mentor. It was met with a swift shield charm and deflected into the forbidden forest. A flock of birds sprung from trees as the impact off a trunk sounded.
This was standard, Oliver very rarely got a hit in. He groaned before fixing his stance, inhaled deeply and reeled back his arm.
"Confundo! Petrificus totalus! Incendio! Obscuromimblewimbleimpedimentaaquaeructoconfringo!"
Oliver initially started steady but soon broke into a flurry of wand waving and yelling as he launched off a full arsenal of charms, jinxes, hexes and curses. It was only when he bellowed confringo, the blasting curse, did he stop with wide eyes. But alas, every one of his spells was either met in its path with a counter spell or a shield charm nullified it.
"All you got?"
Oliver heard the older student call over to him with a chuckle. Oliver took stance again, readying, and so did his mentor.
His hand swished through the air but he didn't utter a sound. Flashing forward was a disarming charm, which flicked the wand straight from the older student's hand.
A moment of silence, surprise from both sides.
"Huh... well that's new!" she called as she walked over to her wand to pick it up.
Oliver took a moment to absorb what just happened, then walked over to her, done for the day. There was a split second where Oliver was impressed with himself, yet dread seemed to wash over him soon after. There was one other in his family he knew to have had a skill with nonverbal magic. An ex-Death Eater who also happened to be his mother. He stood there, realising where his magical affinity came, having been blind to the connection this whole time. He wasn't sure he liked this path he was on anymore.
In his early years at Hogwarts, Oliver caught the attention of older students quite often. They'd cast spells on him that would pull his shirt over his head and tie the sleeves together. Other times they'd do some dark hex that would give Oliver such terrible, extreme flatulence that he'd curl up on the floor hugging his stomach while the gas he exploded out was tearing open his trousers at the seams. He didn't miss his early days. Now he was one of the older kids and the bullies were mostly busy picking on the new younger kids.
He couldn't always stand by and watch. But he also didn't have the confidence to take other students head on. One day, passing through corridors and moving staircases, Oliver came across a gang of older students using levitating charms on a first year's books while the kid tried effortlessly to grab them out of the air. Oliver stopped and watched. He stared at the books as they slowly begun moving out the open window and tossed a few stories down to the gravel and grass. The group were being lead by one bully, directing a lot of what was happening. He then watched as the kid pulled his wand out, hand shaking but chin raised.
"You'll pay for that!"
Oliver felt like he was watching himself. In fact, he was sure he'd said the exact same thing.
"What ya lookin' at!"
It took Oliver a moment to realise the lead bully was actually talking to him. He did look a bit odd standing and watching this altercation from the T-junction of a corridor. Oliver walked on, but noted their faces. Moments later he winced as he could hear the younger kid vomiting slugs in the distance.
*
It was only the next day when Oliver found the very same bully alone, eating a chocolate frog. Oliver paused for a moment, reminiscing his happy memories with those treats. He was a chrogletongue, which meant he could hear chocolate frogs. He could even hear the bully's frog from a distance. It was screaming.
Oliver slipped his wand out, ready to unleash his high arcane power. The bully however noticed the all too recognisable hand movements of a wand unsheath and looked over, still chewing.
Surprised, Oliver played casual, looking away and waving it to cast tergeo on his robes to removes some dust. He continued to walk on, hoping to get the bully another time.
*
Oliver crossed paths with the bully again, this time in the quidditch stands. Slytherin were training and Oliver sometimes liked to watch Erin Ryan whack the ball around and be aggressive. He'd also study at the same time, preferring to change up the setting. The bully, a Hufflepuff but surrounded by Slytherins, was watching too, but also horsing around, jumping on the seats.
Oliver pulled out his wand slowly, training it on the bully carefully. "Vespert.." But he caught eye contact with one of the bullies friends, who stood up and put their hand on their wand, eyes squinting, unsure if Oliver was about to curse their friend.
Oliver swiftly turned his wand downwards to his books and backpack and used the packing charm. He set off quickly with his bag on his back, pages and feathers still flying into his backpack as hurried off. Not today.
*
Oliver walked down the corridor, the very same one he first came across the bully. He assumed this must be a regular hang out spot by the big open window since the bully had a friend with them, idling about. Without any reluctance, Oliver did the slightest of head movements yet somehow cast the knockback jinx on the bully. The Hufflepuff shot straight out the open window and a distant yelp could be heard as he fell a few stories. Oliver was never accounting for the open window and strode away before the friend could turn to piece together what just happened. Oliver wasn't even sure it would happen, he was attempting to cast wandlessly but he was also just imagining it. He didn't think he was capable of such a skill, but little did he know it was something his mother was headhunted and drafted into the Death Eaters for. Being able to silently perform powerful spells.
*
The bully found himself in the hospital wing that night. He could feel a lot of his bones were broken but he was no stranger to bone mending medicine. He was in the hospital wing alone, it was dark. He looked to his right and could see light coming from in through the open entrance door. A silhouette stood in the doorway, impossible to make out, no matter how hard the bully focused. The silhouette stood still for a moment, silent, hands by side before it begun to walk away, only at the very same moment the bully felt his stomach twist and turn. He wrenched harshly before an onslaught of slug vomiting overcame him.
Ava slouched into the room. She had been downstairs eating a nice dinner until her stepmom had commented on the school photos her stepbrother and a half brother had brought home from school.
“And where are your photos, Ava?” Her step-mum implied, raising one eyebrow skillfully. She had gone to grab it from her bag and her mom told her dad something that made her tear that made tears well in her eyes.
“She’s just so—what’s the word—ugly.”
Ava let the picture drift to the floor. She had ran up to her room and that was that. Staring in the mirror now, she could see what her stepmum meant. It was her eyes, they’re flat brown color boring into her from the mirror. Her tears dripped down her tan cheeks and she scrub them off with the back of her hand. She closed her eyes, imagining how beautiful she would be with green eyes, Spect with gold. When she opened her eyes the tears were gone, and so are all the traces of her fit, replace with eyes that look uncannily like the one she had envisioned in her mind. And not came from the door. Not a second later the door was being shoved opened and in walked her stepmom and father.
“I’m sorry about what I—” seeing no tears her stepmom stopped her apology and glared at her. Her dad, clever man he was, spotted her eyes immediately.
“Honey, let's give her a moment.” he guided her to the door and closed it behind her.
“Dad—”
“I don’t want any more of this hocus-pocus!” He pointed at her with an accusing finger. “You’re special, I get it. There’s no reason to… flex it on us! Your mum wouldn’t have put up with it and neither will I.”
She opened her mouth to retort. She didn’t choose to be special, it just happened. Her father had left without a word, leaving her to think about her strange abilities. When she would take a trip to Hogsmead in a few years she would learn that being able to change things about her look is not normal for wizards. She would learn that she had a special talent called Metamorphmagus.
Reducio
Ava’s mom has good days and bad days, and this was a bad day.
If Ava were too long into a wizard ancestry site she would be able to trace her family back a long ways. Her mother was the wizard in the family, but was not a Metamorphmagas. It was actually her mothers mum’s mum who is the Metamorphmagus. That being said Ava only has an eighth of her great grandmother’s blood going through her. For anyone else this talent would have been lost, but not for Ava. Ava was special in ways no one could have predicted.
From the moment she had changed her eyes, she began practicing In private. Changing strands of hair to another color and the color of her nails was easiest, but when she tried to make her foot smaller and make herself bigger it didn’t work. Her guess is it’s because she is making or taking away stuff, whereas with her hair she is only changing it. She dreams of a library where she can study magic. If she were able to go into Hogwarts library now, she would have checked out every book, practiced every spell, everything.
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Wandmaker Application
The application in total needs to be 400 words, but there are minimum word counts for the aspects of your wand. It is recommended that you explain where the wand came from. Did they buy it, inherit it, have it custom-made because they are very wealthy, etc.
Wand Wood (50-word req.): Applewood | While made very few, the Applebottom family works perfectly with Apple Wood as a foundation for wands. Jannette is a very well-loved and accepting witch, while she does push boundaries on people and can be very obnoxious she does have a heart of gold. The young witch also has a sorta unique aura about her, in the way how she acts and other people react to her. From her goofy imagination of pretending to hope on furniture pretending the floor is lava, to screaming someone's crush loud in the library, the applewood is perfect for Jannette's goofy charm!
- Note: Due to the family origin, and history there is also a family-based lore reason as well below.
Word Count: 98/50
Wand Core (50-word req.): Basilisk Horn | For Jannette, the Basilisk Horn is perfect not only for the house she is in, due for the meaning and how she is with her personality. As a Slytherin, and being in a house known for its determination, the beauty of the Basilisk Horn shows the irony of her greatness due to her family history, of being known for being in Gryffindor, and as well -- Jannette's future ahead is bound to wonderful. Another thing that makes this core a wonderful choice is how Jannette is a very emotional person, usually following her heart more than her head. A great example of this is when Jannette's hot-headedness at the Slytherin Table led her into a food fight!
Word Count: 116/50
Wand Length (50-word req.): 30,5 cm | Not too long for her height and stature, but not too short. This length, however, is perfect for Jannette's vibrant personality. From singing to the top of her lungs about a Disney song to Quercy, to even insulting Faye Simmons at the library. The girl has no bounds when it comes to human interaction or even talking people to death about things that have nothing to do with the topic at hand (poor Clair).
Word Count: 74/50
Wand Flexibility (50-word req.): Pliable | While pliable can be defined by the flexibility of a wand, I think it works perfectly to Jannette by how its second definition is defined, which is " easily influenced." Like most tweens her age, older people will be able to easily influence the Applebottom, a beautiful example is the relations between Jannette Applebottom and the leader of The Snek Squad, Colin McCoire, where Jannette sees Colin as an older brother to sorta emulate and follow. From him giving her orders to turn pages in a book, to learning the mysterious ways of creating fake permission passes to Hogsmead, Jannette has a great appreciation for Colin and the pliability he has on her.
Word Count: 114/50
History: Throughout the fourteen generations, the Applebottom family is known for their deep connection to apple orchids. With the early discovery of wood began in the family generation by the family head, Jonathan [Applebottom]. Over time the family became synonymous with the apple trees and held a family tradition of the sacred wood to the point to where the Applebottom family has specific traditions centered around apple trees! As for the wands, the Applebottom family has had a history of having applewood wands. With the family being known for being in Gryffindor, (and having the privilege of being wealthy) it was quite common for them to have a wand custom-made for them. Generally, the family usually had wands made of Applewood with a wand core of Unicorn Tail Hair.
However, Jannette on the other hand was a little different. Everything added together to her being different from her family. Her first instance of magic was the dropping of apples from a tree being green instead of red, her being in Slytherin (hindsight 2020), and finally the wand she received! While it is common for her to receive the Applewood, the core she first received Unicorn Tail Hair, was insufficient, in fact, when she first swished the wand it backfired on her! As time went on, the Applebottom family began to tilt their heads and whisper rumors once Jannette received the wand that worked with her, a Basilisk Horn!
Ability 1:
Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Seer
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Brinley has a history of wizards in her family who are amazing at the art of Divination. Specifically, on her father's side, most of his brothers and sisters as well as him were all seers and that lovely gene was passed onto Brinley. Some of the talented Seers in her family were Paul Bardot, her uncle and her father's eldest brother, who she always looked up to as a child, being fascinated at how well he controlled and harnessed his seeing ability. Brinley excells at telling the future, and it comes naturally to her. However, she cannot always control when she tells the future. In order for her to make accurate.
Ever since she was old enough to understand what seeing was she secretly hoped that she would have the ability of being a Seer, and when she was around 6 or 7 years old, she first began showing the signs of becoming one. It was obvious when small parts of her hair started to turn grey at the age of 15. Then, was when she had actually decided to start dying to the Platinum color that she wears today. This is due to the fact that she wanted to hide the grey colors present in her hair. Having such an unnatural color would be more acceptable than a 15-year-old with grey hair. Even today at 26, she is still embarrassed about her hair having random spouts of grey, so she still keeps it dyed. However, if anyone were to ask about why she had the platinum colored hair, she would tell them the correct story, letting them know about her hidden gray hairs underneath. why she decided to dye her hair platinum sort of has to do with her putting the ability on displayed despite her being embarrassed about it at times. This is something that is apart od her and she wants to try and fully embrace it because she knows that there is no changing who she truly is. She uses this ability to spread kindness and awareness that it is okay to be unique and different. She feels that everyone is the way that they are for a reason and that includes herself and her seer ability. Being a Divination professor, she believes strongly in destiny and she believes that being a seer and teaching students and other wizards about their differences and how to celebrate them, is also apart of her destiny.
Luckily, since she came from a family of seers, she knows about them and was able to do her best to learn about them. She is constantly sharpening her ability and learning her best to control it and it's the difficulty.
Brinley believes strongly in her Seer ability, but also believes that as amazing as it is, something like this isn't needed for Divination. Though it does help immensely and was a huge part in why she was able to excel in Divination herself as a kid. She loves to practice her Seer ability and wants for others to come to her for future tellings in order for her to hone her seeing skills.
Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Calming Presence
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Brinley is a very kind and loving witch and with this she loves to make those around her feel at ease. She wants to make sure they are calm and focused. Thus she always speaks in a soft and calm tone which is almost like a whisper. Despite her calm demeaour and tone, she especially wants her classroom and her general vibe to always make herself and those around her feel calm. This will allow for her students to excel in her classroom and an example, because it allows them to be calm and focused on their tasks and practice of future telling.
Along with Brinley's kind and soft voice she loves to encourage calmness by drinking tea, which is her favorite drink. She loves to share her love of tea with her students. If someone were to bring up tea in a lecture, it might get her off topic a bit so that is something she needs to be careful of. Chamomile is her favorite kind of tea. But, with calming presence she would be able to give those students who do not enjoy tea the same sense of calm that the tea would give them.
She loves making anyone around her smile, and remain calm. She doesn't like stresses, they make casting magic hard, as well as making someone generally uncomfortable so, her goal is to remove as many stresses from those around her as possible.
Another thing she loves is candles, she always seems to be burning one in her classroom, making sure to adhere to the calming aura of herself. She burns scents meant to relax those in her classroom such as: Lavender, Jasmine, and Rosemary.
Since she was young, she always loved to be the source of calmness for people as well. She always encouraged her friends to remain calm even in stressful situations and her family as well. She knows that sometimes that is hard, but that people just need a friendly reminder to remain calm in all stressful situations. What they are going through is temporary and they just need to take a deep breath and be calm. So, due to her having practice doing so as a kid, this is a skill that has begun to come naturally to her and she often does it without even knowing now. Which, she is totally okay with because it is what she actually thrives to do.
Name of Ability or Race : Metamorphagus
Describe why it fits my Character :
Reducio
The Brown family had many unique members. Though most of the Brown family were regular wizards or even muggles, but there were a few exceptions. Oliver’s great great grandfather for example had a gift for being a metamorphagus one of the rarest of his family. He had learned this because one afternoon he had read the family book with descriptions of every family member who were recorded there.
The ability of being a metamorphagus is not learned, it is natural during birth, which Oliver was fascinated about. He accepted for a long time that he probably wasn’t one as he showed no symptoms of changing his appearance. This all changed one day when he had just woken up incredibly early, 6 AM probably and he walked, sleepily down the stairs. The night before he had slept late because he and his brother had fought. He wanted to disappear after that argument, change his face and never be recognized by his brother. He reached the kitchen where his mom was cooking facing the opposite direction of the table. “Mmm Pancakes my favorite!” he said looking down on his plate. “Oh Oliver your awake! I expected you to be up later. How was your sleep dear?” his mother asked. “It was… fine. Can you pass me the maple syrup?” he had asked his mother. She grabbed it and turned to give it to him when she stopped midway, dropped the maple syrup and gaped at him.
After a while, Oliver said, “Woah mom, everything alright? Looks like you’ve seen a ghost!” She was silent, but after a while, she said, “Ol- Oliver dear, is that- is that you?” At this point, Oliver was confused. “What do you mean mom?” he asked her. Oliver’s mother quickly pulled out her mirror from her pocket that she always brought around if she needed to fix her makeup. She handed it to him starting to smile saying, “Look” Oliver took the mirror and looked at his face. Blimey! He didn’t recognize himself! He had plain black hair instead of brown, he had gray eyes instead of the blue eyes he had ever since he was born and his face was so different, his eyebrows were thicker than normal, he had a thin sharp nose and his skin was a darker shade. ”Your- Your a metamorphagus!” said his mother. He had taken a while to process this.
He was a metamorphagus just like his great great grandfather! This was so exciting! “Does this mean… I can change my appearance at will?!” he asked his mother excitedly. “Yes! But it will take time to master it! This is so exciting! I need to tell everyone about this! My son, a metamorphagus!” she said heading up the stairs. Oliver was so excited! This surely would change his life. He closed his eyes hard and he tried to change his appearance. He tried to change his appearance to a person from a magazine he had seen laying around.
After a while he looked at the mirror. He was a bit disappointed to see that his face had only gone back to normal. He could faintly hear his mother talking upstairs about him. The thought of this made him smile. He wanted to learn it fast. He wanted to be able to fully change his appearance, but he knew it would take time. But he was willing to put time and effort into that.
Trunk post most likely does not follow the standardized rules, so the talent has not been added.
Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Parselmouth
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
I believe since Luke is Kind of a really ambitious person and want's to exceed expectations and be a specially powerful wizard, he needs a trait which makes him stand out from the rest. I think being a parseltongue really helps him with that. Also I would like to base his character on being really nosy(So he get's as much info as possible from everyone), and being a parselmouth can really help him with that. For example in the RP's I would love my character to have his snake go and spy on the daily interactions of people in-order to learn about their structural qualities. Also I wanted my character to posses the qualities of a Ravenclaw/Slytherin and actually join their house. Unfortunately(or fortunately) he got sorted to Gryffindor. At least Being a parselmouth can help him express those regions of his character. Also Luke is willing to hurt others to reach his goals and doesn't normally make best friends and this ability can help him bond with other characters in the game. Luke also has a hidden Dark-side where his ambition can cause him to become Ruthless and I think that kind of makes him a standard parselmouth. This Snake can also help him is own Rule breaking cause Luke has a knack of breaking Rules as you can see in my RPs :). I think this feature could tremendously improve the base-hold of his character and Result in many different kinds of mischief. Also, Luke really likes Care of magical creatures and this Snake can help his character learn more about the anatomy and physiology of other mysterious beasts which are hard to tackle or see.
Also being a parselmouth can allow my character to sneakily attack his foes and As I sad Luke can be RUTHLESS and this can really add to the ways of reaching his goals.
As I said My character is supposed to Stand-out and since no early ancestor of his has this trait, this could cause him to be unique in the family blood line.
I am Writing the next Part of this post like a background story of why he has it.
The Whitlock Family Was astonished when they saw a 2 foot snake inside ther living room. Perhaps even more weird than that was the fact that Their 8 year old son was playing with it and laughing. Luke had always excelled in every task and his parent's believed this was another thing he was talented in. As Long as they knew No one in their family had had this trait!
'Maybe one of our ancestor's had cheated and had a child with a parseltongue!'
'Maybe, But why hasn't anyone else had it?'
'could it be in his gene's? Like a mutation?'
they were speechless. this single trait could cause him to become engraved in the wizarding history as the Best wizard ever or as the worst.
As he grew up his parent's decided to keep him from snakes and let him interact with them. After-all snakes are rarely found and he might not know that he is a parselmouth till a ripe age.
But alas Luke's wit and ambition got the better of them and when they saw that Luke was already well informed of his Unfortunate ability, They could do nothing other than guide him in the right direction to use his power to serve for good of mankind and not let his ambition and power get the better of him.
Alas, only time will tell what will happen to Luke. But no matter what, we all know that he will do Great things. Either Terrible, or Pleasant Deeds.
You describe why you want the talent. Not why t would fit your character. The complete part above would not count. The backstory does not meet the 500 word count expectation. Please edit your app and elaborate IC.
This happened roughly 8 months after Baxter came to live with him. They were really close. They were stopping around a friend of Baxter's (he was a little intimidated so Lucian said he would come with him) when Baxter, his friend and their elder sibling said they wanted to sneak out. Lucian agreed despite his weariness and followed them to the woods behind the trees. Lucian was scared to death but he put on a front for his brother and for Charlotte, she was Baxter's friend's older sister, just a couple years older than Lucian himself.
They had been in the woods for a good few minutes when Lucian, being on full alert due to his paranoia and how cold he was, thought he heard something. He went to say it to the group, how something didn't feel right and that they should think about going back to the house now when he couldn't see them.
They had left without him.
He shuddered and tried to remember which way was back, he would get Charlotte's mum and dad they would all come inside. He heard a noise again. The moon shone down on him, and a breath of fear filled the cold air.
"H-h-hello," he whimpered. It stared at him, cold eyes locking his fear ridden and submissive ones. It sniffed the air and edged closer. “Pl-please don’t hur- hurt me,” he begged, he knew it wouldn't work. This was how it was going to go. By a Werewolf at 11 only years old.
The Werewolf was still getting closer until he snarled and jumped. Lucian screamed and tried to dive away, he got up and started running, nearly falling over when his ankles gave way multiple times. His glasses keep steaming up and his black hair stuck to his sweaty forehead, Lucian knew he was simply running on adrenaline right now. Lucian got behind a massive tree and held his breath, the Werewolf was still snarling angrily, hungrily, searching for its prey.
Lucian felt himself freeze. His heart was pumping miles a second, yet he couldn't breathe. “Lucian!” yelled Baxter, rushing to him. Tears formed in his eyes as he made his split-second decision. The Werewolf had already seen Baxter and was galivanting towards him.
Lucian ran as fast as he possibly could and then some, ran faster and faster, his glasses no longer an issue, who cared? His baby brother was about to be cursed forever. He jumped into the side of the Werewolf and it yelped. Lucian remembered yelling at Baxter to “leave and get help” but he didn't finish as searing hot pain erupted throughout his body.
He looked and saw the Werewolf had taken a bite from the side of his left flank (just above the hip) Lucian could have sworn he saw the Werewolf being blasted to the other side of the forest.
It was all a blur next.
He thought he saw Charlie drop to her knees next to him, her hands staining with blood as she pressed down on the wound. "HELP!" she screamed, her voice raw. "Baxter, go get—"
"What happened?" she was cut off by her mum and dad running to them. "Oh my!” she gasped. She took her cardigan off and quickly replaced Charlie’s hands with it.
"Charlie, Floo to their parents," ordered her father. Charlie ran. He came over to Lucian and looked him in his eyes. The young boy was getting pale. "You’ll be okay son," he looked to his wife. "We need to try and stop the bleeding before getting him to St. Mungos,"
"It hurts," Lucian cried, his eyes casting a fleeting look at the Werewolf still crumpled in a heap. Was it dead? No… it couldn’t be.
Although, to be honest, Lucian couldn’t care to think about it.
"I know. You’ll be okay," Andrew then apperated into the house and when he came back he was holding all sorts of medical supplies. "Dear, will anything work?" he asked.
She was panicking. “I don’t know Andy! We need to stop the bleeding," they were trying to shield him from eyes of the youngest boys there. "He needs to get to a hospital,"
Millie was still heavily pressing on the wound as she got some dittany from the pile of things Andy had grabbed.
Lucian took some slow, deep breaths as he tried to calm down. He would be okay. He would be okay!
Next time he was coherent, he was in... bed? At home? A cry of pain filled the room when he tried to move. “Shh, don’t move, Luci. Please,” whispered his mother, grabbing his hand.
Mum…where am I?” tears filled his eyes and a sob tore from his throat. “Mum, I'm sorry! It was going to hurt Bax! I couldn't let that happen! I’m sorry!” painful sobs tore through his body and his mum held him tight whispering to him.
Hey, you’re at St. Mungo’s. It will be okay Luci. We can work through this. Calm down darling,” she murmured, raking her hand through his now curly hair and kissing his forehead. “I love you baby. I will protect you. As will your father,”
We will always protect you, my angel.
