Sébastien set off with a flash trying to get a head start. He didn't seem to be going as fast as some of the other racers but it was a good enough pace for him. After all it was only the start of the race. He was dodging left and right trying to evade the rest of his and the opposing team. Berry's luck from the last race didn't seem to carry over to this one as he flew into the cave scrapping himself along the wall. The cave then started to get thinner and more racers were becoming closer. The boy had already been put off slightly by his first bump and once again hit the wall of the cave.

His determination to win the race was still high and his spirits would not be lost until someone crossed that finish line. Hopefully, one of his own team.

Cielle raced off almost immediately, eager to get ahead. She loved how exhilarating broom racing was, how she felt when she was flying. She got through the first few parts unscathed while managing to dodge a spell directed at her, until the cave started to get smaller and smaller. Cielle wasn't claustrophobic, but this was certainly not a very pleasant experience. A bunch of teens racing in a constricted area with a goal in mind? She dodged another spell aimed at her, although Yefim wasn't so lucky, she noticed. She grimaced as he was flew backwards and out of her line of sight. Ouch.

she felt like she had the slowest broom, and she did. But that wouldn't stop her from trying to kick butt because she had to try. They all flew forward and coraline was immediately confused. She felt at unease and a bit frightened. So much happened at once, she tried to cast a spell and clearly missed, but she also got attacked. Not from a person, but what she did know was that she had some sort of acid on her. She cried out in shock and fear. It wasnt entirely painful, or maybe she had a lot of adrenaline. But it was taking its toll on her gor sure.

Yefim certainly lived up to his name with his retort, which only made her grin as she kicked off. Her broom was relatively new, and she hadn’t had enough practice, which she would blame for being covered in the acidic substance. It burned her skin and started to bite at her skin. She couldn’t let it stop her, just like the distraction of spells flying through the air, seemingly, from only her team, which was interesting. While she wanted to focus on her own flying as much as possible, she couldn’t help but want to watch the other team analyze their choices. The race continued on as they usually do with the cave passages. She laid flat against her broom, making herself as small as possible. It meant less of her that she needed to compensate for. Two people had broken ahead, but they were hitting the walls pretty often, and if they didn’t get themselves under control, they would likely find themselves on the ground.

DURMSTRANG VS MAHOUBATON

Round Two

Things had been really heating up last round, with multiple spells being flung from the MahouBaton side, and the Durmstrang racers focusing on trying to get as far ahead as possible. Would they keep the same strategies for this round?

Unit One

Only one racer was left in the first unit, Coraline Harvey, who initially opted to cast a spell that ended up missing their target due to range. She would now push her school provided broom to its limits, even if those limits were unfortunately quite slow compared to the rest of her peers.

Unit Two

There were a handful of people beginning here, and, same as Coraline, they would begin to push their brooms to their limits. Well, all except for one Enzo Delcroix, who appeared to have been stunned by his successful spellwork, or perhaps another reason entirely, and they remained where they were.

Unit Three

The three racers pressed onward through the empty unit, no doubt seeing the cave that was in store for them up ahead.

The racers began to bunch together as they attempted to sail through what appeared to be a cave.

The three Beauxbaton racers made it through the first section unscathed, but of course it was the easier stretch. Coraline would begin to feel her broom slow, stopping just shy of the smaller area of the cave.

Unit Five

The four racers would fight their way through the narrower passage, hoping that they wouldn't run into the rough walls that felt almost as if they were closing in more and more.

Half of the racers just couldn't handle the tightness of the space, and Maximilien and Chiaki crashed into the walls beside them, scraping their sides. It was here where many of the racers began, hoping to continue to push forward.

Unit Six

Surely some of the more claustrophobic racers would begin to feel some relief here was the cave walls began to open up once again, and racers could see an opening with light pouring through it in the distance.

While most would make it through with no issue, Yefim and Kheanu simply couldn't keep control of their brooms, and managed to crash into the walls in a grandiose fashion. Sébastien Batteux had a different issue, that of a feeling of unease, caused by maybe one, or perhaps even all of the somewhat uneasy people around them. They would glance in the direction of the other racers, managing to crash directly into a stalactite that dangled precariously from the roof of the cave.
Yefim's legs were still dancing around wildly, and it was clear he wanted to put a stop to this before he managed to yeet himself off his broom. Surely the Gripping Charm would do the trick.

Alas, the gripping charm still couldn't save Yefim from his fate of kicking himself off his broom, and he began to fall - that is until a certain preppy blonde flew below him, catching him before he would crash into the ground.

Unit Seven

Luckily for the racers, the next few units would be clear sailing. That wouldn't deter a few Durmstrang racers from casting spells in the hopes to slow the Beauxbatons down.

Another nice, easy open space was ahead of the racers, and they continued to sail through with ease, despite some of them still in pain from acid.

Another empty unit for racers to easily sail through, however this time Henrik would slow down and make an attempt to cast.

Unfortunately for Durmstrang, Henrik's spell was rather poorly aimed, and Raphael was simply too good at avoiding, and Henrik missed.

Unit Ten

Another nice, easy open space was ahead of the racers, and they continued to sail through with ease. This is where many would end the round, except for Angélique, who would now feel a spell hit her back, sending her back to end in Unit 7. Luckily for her, she was sent back through open fields and not through other, more precarious hazards, but it was still a setback all the same.

Yefim knew of a good option for what to do if he was being heavily targeted, and masterfully cast the gripping chamr on himself while the sky was still clear of obstructions. However, he could not foresee just how wild his legs would kick, as though they were desperate to get on the ground and start to boogie. Even with his hand firmly grasping the broom in a magically tight grip, it would not be enough to stop his heavy body from tumbling out into the open sky. Uh-oh.

Luckily for him, another Durmstrang student was right there to catch him, though it wasn't Mik or Cie like he expected. Instead it was some blonde thing he didn't know. Oh well. [”I guess this is where I'm supposed to be, then.”] With little more than a second of time to accept the new broommate, Yefim would start to climb around her and push her back to take over. He was the champ, after all, and she was another stepping stone on his path to victory.

Reducio When attempting to use the return to broom action, this is a free action (meaning both users can make a normal action) the rider and ONE passenger (if there are multiple sharing the broom, it would cost both of their actions to return them to their broom also) can retrieve a single broom.

Reducio This broom can carry multiple people. When someone uses the catch option to rescue a falling teammate, they can catch one additional teammate in a given round. If the user has the ability Catch then a user can catch an indefinite number of teammates in a round, but for each person they catch after the first there is a stacking 20% auto-failure chance.

Reducio In the role of Seeker, if an opponent attempts to Bludger or Blatch you, there is a 20% chance that you veer out of the way the last second and another enemy player at RANDOM is targeted instead. Note: The new target still gets their normal dodge attempt. This is not considered to be an auto-dodge, in fact this roll is done before any accuracy rolls are done.

After his earlier flub in the cave earlier, it was all smooth sailing from then on out.

At least, that's what Kheanu would have wanted to say. The reality was much bleaker.

He followed up his earlier plight in the cave with another run-in with the wall, tearing a huge, teeth-clenching gash on one side of his tracksuit. Holding back dramatic tears, of course, the Mondelez boy looked for someone to blame. Someone to take his frustration on.

Lo and behold, last year's broom racer tho passed the finish line first. Though they were not popular enough for their name to be of note to, Kheanu couldn't mistake the girl as she whizzed past.

With a huff and a Depulso, the boy gave her a quick reality check.

As she magically rebounded back to where he was, Kheanu gave her a cheeky finger waggle before "revving up" his broom—in this case, a brief pat pat on the tail.

Doing as strategized

Nichlas was flying and was pretty much in the front with just a couple of other fliers. The need to best others was what made him focus on what was beyond him and ahead of him. He hoped that his good flying skills would hand them the victory, though he saw that there was a lot coming up next. But he was sure that he could conquer whatever those Hogwarts people could throw at him. Silly as they were.

As Sofia attempted to get her bearings back long enough to prepare for another attempt at a lap, she would find herself beneath the weight of a falling star. Thankfully holding on well enough for the see-saw motion not to flip her off into space, so would huff in a way that sounded like crying wasn't too far away. After all, she really wanted to show she was just as much a contributing member to the Durmstrang team as any of the others, boulders flying from the sky or not.

However, it was not a boudler, but the freaky champion Yefim. He was mean, rude, and not at all cool or fun. He and his team he made were always peacocking around and laughing, even though Sofia did not know what they always found so funny. "[Hey! Excuse you! What the heck! Ever hear of manners?]" She was really hoping none of her friends were watching right now, this wasn't exactly the most stellar way to garner attention.
