Elisa hadnt noticed when the game has ended or when Ekachot had arrived, her mind was too much preserved by the scenery to notice anything, but after a while of thinking to make up an excuse Elisa finally said "Hey Ekachot! I didn't notice you, The beauty of the scenary got into my head", that was the worst excuse ever but neither did Elisa want the boy to think that she had ignored him.

All Elisa wanted was to change the topic, "Ohh looks like that stupid game ended, like searching those bushes and soiling our brand new dresses is like the worst things to do" she muttered while rolling her eyes, it was true that she absolutely wasn't impressed by the game, either to the reason of soiling her dress or to the hidden reason of getting hurt which has been happening to Elisa for quite a while, from broken pots to tripping, her clumsiness seemed to worsen as time passed.

Elisa was about to advice Ekachot that they better go into the ball, when she noticed a bunch of older students forming a group, This caused Elisa's curiosity to skyrocket, "Ekachot, we better check out what's going on there" saying so the young blonde dragged the boy to the group of people, unaware of the fact that this she would regret this action in the end.

As the young girl went towards the crowd while pulling her partner with her, the scene she faced was horrendous, One boy Pericles Dralt was bleeding heavily from his eyes while another Finnegon Connor was stabbed, one boy Jack Warren was floating while moving his legs and arms crazily, on the other side Elisa noticed Astra being picked up by another girl Rebecca Lark, this all was enough to haunt Elisa, she couldn't understand what was going on while her mind was getting filled with worry for Astra, someone whom she never was very fond of. Elisa instantly turned to muttered to Ekachot "W-What the heck is happening here? I'm starting to get a bad feeling of this", her voice shaking but neither was she planning to leave, she couldn't, not when all this was happening.

But the miserable sight of Astra was enough to fill Elisa with panick, the young ginger's situation seemed heartbreaking to anyone as Elisa continued to watch it all happen, but the moment Astra lost balance and knelt down, Elisa couldn't stay still, she immediately left Ekachot's hand and ran towards Astra, "ASTRA BE CAREFUL!!" was the only thing that came out of her mouth, loud and sharp, Elisa didn't know what got into her but she just wanted Astra to be fine, even though her dissaproval for her.

As Elisa went towards the girl, her heart filled with pity seeing the miserable sight of Astra who was tearing up while next to another girl, Elisa slowly kneeled down next to Astra as she whispered to her in a gentle yet scared voice Astra, are you hurt?, Just please don't do anything rash without thinking twice"", As Elisa continued to look around her, she noticed lack of perfects, 'The prefects always appear while doing a little prank but where are they now during a serious situation' thought Elisa, her mind still a mess as she just couldn't understand what was happening, as she muttered softly "How did this all happend in a day like this!?", Elisa expected no reply but she just couldn't stop herself from wondering, it was a total mess, Astra was miserably crying, the boy who was stabbed was holding his attacker tightly while the older boy who was stabbed in the eyes seemed to be casting some spell while covering his face from the others, All this was not at all in her list of things to experience in Hogwarts but there she was...

The person first accredited to describing Gryffindor students as brave, had clearly never met Theo Vendeberg. He had marched straight up to the mad-digging Jack scowling as if being on the ball planning committee gave him an impenetrable shield to be as annoying as possible to other students. “What do you think you’re doing?” He shouted, quickly followed by “Stop this at once.” His mind solely on the destruction of freshly cut grass and the disruption to ‘his’ ball. He only caught on to the surrounding tension, the moment Meenauh’s wand appeared, threatening Vladimir. Theo cautiously backed into Zophyr for safety in the familiar, but she started speaking Kirundi which confused him even more. The boy was about to say something to her when Jack viciously stabbed Pericles in a spectacularly bloody display. Theo almost jumped out of his shoes in fright, his eyes wide, face pale and speechless.

Suddenly, his evaluation of ball planning committee responsibility fell through the floor. This wasn’t in the job description and out of his control. Shakily he looked at Zophyr once more as if expecting her to tell him what to do. Despite this he would interrupt whatever she was about to say in a panic. “Professor! Professor! Professor!” He called loudly to nobody in particular like a broken alarm clock. By his frantic shouting and panicked expression it was clear he had never been close to danger before in his entire life. No adult in sight, he produced his wand and conjured the first charm he thought of. Holding his wand vertically above his head shouting “Periculum!” Regardless of if the spell had worked or not, he would try and make a run for it. Anywhere but here.

No, no, no, no, no, nonononono this was not happening. What was Zophyr doing here? What was Zophyr doing at Hogwarts at all?? If her family knew how dangerous this was, she would never have been allowed to come. But even she herself hadn't known how dangerous this was. Why had she needed a boy to get stabbed in the eye to understand that? She couldn't - she couldn't think, she couldn't move, she couldn't-

There was blood all over that boy's mask, and he was attempting to cast a spell, and-

How could Zophyr had ever hoped for chaos? How could that ever have been something she'd desired? All of her sneaking around and observing and feeling like she was so much cooler than everyone else had resulted in absolutely nothing. She was useless; there was nothing she could do, nothing she knew how to do. A boy nearby was screaming Finnegan probably from the pure shock at watching another get stabbed, and it was only then that Zophyr noticed she was as well. Oh gods, oh gods oh gods oh gods. She was near hyperventilation. She had walked backwards in horror and terror without noticing. She had no idea where Theo was, there were people everywhere. She heard his voice from somewhere but didn't register his words. Nothing was registering. She'd stopped screaming but it hadn't stopped in her mind.

Zophyr wasn't sure what it was that snapped her out of her state. Perhaps the voice of Telus, her older brother, in her brain. Telling her this wasn't the end of the world. She tried to fight back, saying it quite obviously was, but Telus reminded her this wasn't the first time she'd seen blood, and that she could deal with it. Horrific things had happened before - she could deal with it. She had skills. She just had to use them. Quit being ridiculous, and start being useful.

Her mind went crystal clear. She could see things, she could observe, she could do this. This was her, Zophyr Qethnis, the one who never backed down from a challenge. Why was she deciding to be a coward now? This challenge was so much more important than the one about Theo (though she was half-sure she'd gotten that one done anyway). Sure, it was the furthest thing from fun, or interesting, or all the things she'd hoped for. But she was brave, and she was capable, and she could do something about it anyway.

An older year had managed to make the main muddy threat levitate in the air, which meant he was not necessarily too much of a threat anymore, as long as they kept him there. The boy who'd gotten stabbed was probably helping himself better than Zophyr could, considering how much older he was than her. A red sparks charm was sent up. Zophyr had to do something, but what, she could not figure out. She couldn't just... stand around! Could she? Perhaps trying to actually figure out what was happening would help her know what to do to help.

And there was only one way to do that. Move closer to the danger.

The moment that he stepped foot on the grounds of Hogwarts for the first time, Pyxis knew that no experience in his life would have been enough to prepare him for the wizarding world. However, with the exception of his first night in the castle, the snake thought he was handling things well. Learning how to swing a wand to cast spells and brew potions that gave him video game buffs in real life were the least of his worries now, eclipsed by the thought of having to remember all those dates in History of Magic. Typical schooling things. Nothing out of the ordinary once he got used to the routine. The simplest routine that didn’t account for safety measures because surely he was protected by the presence of powerful professors and other magic users. Protected from things as mundane as stabbings.

Despite the cacophonous melody surrounding the student body, Pyxis would find that the presence of a large crowd was more calming than what was left. As the bundle of noise flowed through the entrance to the Quidditch pitch, pulled there by the oblivious group of ball-goers, the boy watched as a series of seemingly unrelated and disjointed actions occurred before him. It almost played out like a movie. He could even see the cuts the director would make, switching perspectives from the tall boy resembling a corpse and the girl holding a wand to his throat to the other boy who had more interest in getting dirt under his nails than the pretty people surrounding him.

“Should we get out of here?” Pyxis asked Kaito in a hesitant tone. The two had remained in the entrance pathway as the rest moved into the ball. There was no real reason for it in Pyxis’ mind. He just preferred to trickle in behind after the party started up, and he guessed that Kaito was one for quieter spaces anyways. They could chat for a while about Pyxis’ messing up of the last clue thanks to Cranky or about the near-deaths at the last ball. Then Pyxis would bid him adieu and hit the dance floor solo. Seemed like a simple plan. Then things went to utter doo-doo.

Two stabbings, practically simultaneously. Pyxis mainly had eyes on a crowned kid [Gideon] moving towards his Gryffindor classmate [Finnegan] with open arms. The action itself didn’t draw suspicion from the snake. Rather, it was a girl he remembered meeting during the first Quidditch match of the season [Astra]. She was sprinting towards the crown boy for some reason, and Pyxis watched as she collided with him and fell down. His body jerked, gentlemanly instincts clawing for him to offer a hand while the fear of getting involved pushed them back down. Fear of what? The Gryffindor classmate bleeding from a knife wound, murder weapon still stuck in his body. He was trying to bear hug the supposed attacker.

What stupidity. Seemed like Astra agreed, brandishing her wand with tears streaming down her face. Astra’s up. The result of her own determination or the familiar face beside her [Rebecca]? Wand. What? Wand. Right, he had a wand. But what the heck could he do with it? He’d been working on the Disarming Charm since before the holidays and even got a commendation from the professor about it, but the knife was still in the Gryffindor’s body and… and a bloodied wand had already been dropped. More? More commotion still. A white-haired upperclassman [Pericles] bleeding from under his mask turned away just as Pyxis shifted his attention. A boy with dirt-covered hands was floating [Jack], held in the air by the same girl who just seconds ago was pressing her wand to another’s neck [Meenauh].

Yells, crying, puking. Pyxis couldn’t tell what came from which direction. He could only hear his heart which was beating from somewhere in his stomach, dropped so far that he was starting to feel sick. The ringing in his ears subsided then, various sounds of disaster becoming louder and clearer. Somewhere he registered a voice calling for the professors. Good. Good plan. He regained control of his limbs and looked to the situation to see where he could help. Help? You’re a bloody Gryffindor now!? He ignored the thought and zeroed in on someone else on the ground. Another upperclasswoman and unfamiliar. Pyxis didn’t care about familiarity right now.

“Go- It’s- R-.” It was a series of incomplete commands towards Kaito as he broke into a jog. The message he wanted to convey was for the boy to either stay there or run away, but his adrenaline spike refused to let even a single sentence out. He let the idea drop, taking a wide berth around the safer side of the commotion which he decided was the one with the floating boy. He wasn’t like the older kids, on edge and prepared for things to go awry at any second. To him, this situation was handled and the professors would obviously be round to clear up the mess any time now. Right? He reached the upperclasswoman, standing behind her and extending a hand down into her view.

“Miss, you should get up. As soon as possible.” He didn’t mean to sound rude or rushed. There was just too much happening and his first year brain struggled to keep up.

A stop to boredom with others and Stephen Schwartz/@AngelFyre McCubbin

Miles had to admit that initially he was glad that there was so much interest peaked in the nature around them. So often, it seemed that others forgot that they were a part of nature, that when they paid attention and gave respect to the trees and the grass and the trees and the flowers that they were really, in essence, coming home. Amongst nature was where everyone truly belonged. Even if it was only for a few moments, at least the students of Hogwarts and the visiting schools like his own were paying attention to some of the great beauty that the Earth offered them.

But the flowers were all of a common variety, even the honking daffodils that Miles probably first encountered when he was still an infant as his grandmother had been a fan of them. The others were ones you could find across the globe in one facet or another - whether in gardens, growing wild, or even found in florist shops designed for comfort and care. His interest wavered.

And then it grew as he saw how aggressive some of the students were with the plants. Common varieties or not, that was absolutely no way to treat the plants! "Hey, come now. Stop that. You're going to hurt them," he snapped at one of the students as they riffled through the flowers, causing the stems to bend far too much, far too quickly. The boy stopped and looked up at Miles rather abruptly, almost like he was ready to start some kind of fight but just locked eyes with him and stared. "That's right. I said what I said. The key obviously isn't there, moron, so go - and be a bit gentler with the next plant you encounter."

If the student hadn't been younger, so it appeared, maybe Miles Thatcher would have had a fight on his hand but luckily the boy stalked away. "That's right, keep going......break one of the stems and maybe I'll break your leg...." he muttered. Maybe he wasn't really in the mood for this ball after all. He didn't have a date and he didn't really have a plan for the night but he was here, so maybe he needed to take in some deep breaths of fresh air and make the best of this evening.

The key search seemed to be taking awhile and he let the others conduct the search while he watched - and monitored the safety of the plants. Luckily all the other students seemed to have a bit more respect than frantic-barbaric boy. Miles waited. And he waited. And he waited. Granted - he was doing absolutely no good in helping, but that was okay; instead he was surveying the space around him. It seemed that those from Ilvermorny and Hogwarts and the other wizarding schools had some pretty fashionable attire for this dance and he had to give credit where credit was due. Good job. There was something to be said for being well put-together.

Miles looked around more. Part of him wished he had a date for this dance but it just didn't feel right. His last dates and attempts at any sort of relationship or relationship-like actions left him quite frustrated. They never worked.

He wasn't doing a very good job of making the best of this, was he? In realizing that, Miles looked around to see if there was anyone he could interact with and start making this night better than it had began.

A group of students were gathered around a group of trees and Miles recognized one as someone who was on his quidditch team, just a year ahead of him. He had helped him earlier that day find his mask for this very event and that's how Miles knew it was him. As he approached to say hello, he noticed that the group was in the middle of playing a game. They had just gotten done with something, because several in the group of about fifteen were laughing hysterically. "I dare someone to be the one to climb a tree the highest," the boy that Miles knew said. It was an innocent game enough and obviously just something to pass the time.

Almost immediately around eight began to take to one of the trees around them and start climbing, one getting snagged up immediately on some thin branches near the bottom. "Amateurs," Miles whispered and watched as more than half now got one third or one fourth of the way up before now hesitating on which way to go next to get higher. Miles looked at the trees and surveyed them a moment before beginning to climb one that one other student was already in - and temporarily stuck. He kept on going, branch after branch, knowing risk assessment well. It wasn't long before he was the highest - by a long shot.

"Fox is our winner!" the main boy announced. Miles raised his hands in a celebratory manner and began to make his way back down to the ground. By now it was pretty evident that the key had been found and the entrance to the Magical Masquerade, the Spring Ball of 2024 was opened. "Next, I dare you to share your first dance with the person closest to you." Several of the group looked to one another and found their pairings and Miles looked to his right to see someone standing close with an athletic build in Victorian style attire and a steampunk sort of mask. This was the person closest to him.

Did he carry on with the game? It wasn't that Miles was afraid to dance, it was just that he had never danced with another guy before. "Shall we?" he whispered in a very low voice, almost not audible.

Oh boy, oh boy! Scout was abysmally late to like the one thing she had absolutely planned to not be late to! The rumors, the speculation, the asking to dance at the 2024 Spring Ball had sent Scout into a mind spiral! She was excited, so excited! She hadn't attended any other events in the past, given that she was busy or uninterested. But this one was different! She was excited to go, and more excited to wear a pretty mask and a cool outfit and meet all the students from the other schools, it was a thrill.

But she was late. At first it was because she had slept in past breakfast, having spent the past night staying up to finish an essay so she wouldn't have to work during the ball. Well then she figured since she had missed breakfast she might as well stay in and have a late lunch, and then after that it was because she didn't know exactly what she wanted to wear- she had come up with about six or seven excuses as to why she was late.

The entrance to the main event was pretty, albeit a little cramped. At first Scout was unsure why, shouldn't everyone be pushing through to get to the ball? But her thoughts carried her a little too late, and she stepped back when she realized- did one of those boys just stab the other? What... what was going on? Not the biggest genius, but even Scout knew that this was not ideal. She wanted to ask her question aloud, but there was panicking and a lot of it.

Her eyes scanned the crowd, finding the face of a student who didn't look as in shock as the rest Zophyr, and Scout grasped at their at the sleeve of their shirt. "Hey, hey!" She didn't want to shout, but there was already a lot of screaming going on, and if she didn't raise her voice, nobody would hear her. "What the hell is going on?"

Kind of a stupid question to ask, because Scout could clearly see what was going on. Some psycho stabby-guy was doing what psycho stabby-people do and stabbing people, and then another guy stabbed- why are these wands so sharp? If- oh man she hoped she wasn't next, but she was pretty far from where the MULTIPLE stabbings had taken place, so she was probably fine.

It was probably stupid to not immediately grab for her wand, but Scout didn't have much confidence in her ability to cast a spell. If anyone- mainly Mister Stabby (1 & 2) over there- wanted to come by, she had fierce fangs that she figured to be much more effective.

It seemed that everyone kept going in finding the key to the ball throughout the bushes. It was definitely a fun game for the younger students at Hogwarts. She remembered those days... Really taking on every challenge. Little do they know that with every challenge, comes a twist. Bloom knew full well and had a share of her own-- from the masked boy to going into the Forbidden Forest and finding a Ravenclaw dying. It was what made Bloom step back from it all. But maybe... As her last weeks in Hogwarts, she could have one last hurrah?

Alas, the minute she was thinking about finding whatever it is to find, someone had already done so and now the ball could be entered. Bloom looked at the joyousness of everyone as they would make their way into the ball from the entrance. Who knew what was in store inside the ball. Surely, and hopefully, there would have been food. Bloom is definitely in need to eat something or she felt like she would pass out. She felt an arm around her waist that pulled her in. Bloom allowed the pull and the kiss that surely followed through from Howard. She let the kiss linger just a bit, taking in the moment.

When she let go of the kiss, she paused for a second, looking at Howard, and she could not help but to paint a small smile on her porcelain face. This was their last ball together, and no matter what, she wanted to be like a first year again-- excited about all the little things. But then, her stomach gurgled, only to remind her she needed food first. "I can eat a whole cow," she joked, although serious in how hungry she was. Bloom grabbed his arm and made her way to the ball by Howard's side.

It would seem she wasn't the only adult in attendance tonight. Which the Nurse was grateful for. One adult for hundreds of students would be like leading a lamb to the slaughter. She would have been overrun in an instant. But at least with a few more skilled adults, she would be alright. At Mateo and Sereia's addition to her place amongst the flowers, she nodded warmly to them both, greeting them individually. "It's a lovely night! Sure to be one filled with fun for the students." The students were still scrabbling around through the flower beds for the key to the Ball. As the path filled with more and more students Dusana huffed, moving further into one of the beds of lilies. At Mateo's mention of her snake, her smile turned sharp. "Thank you Mr Sáez. He likes to accompany me. So does yours it seems..." Her eyes twinkled at the shared connection between the two. Parselmouths weren't so rare these days but it was always nice to see another with her particular talent in person.

As she eyed the students making there way through the flowers, Dusana off handedly continued the conversation, in English this time. The slightly confused look on Sereia's face said she wasn't particularly versed in Parselmouth. "Asclepius likes to accompany me wherever I go these days. Especially after the attack on my person in January." She didn't know if all the staff were aware still, but Dusana hadn't kept it a secret. Two attacks on her person in just over a month. The first two weeks into her term of being Nurse. She wasn't a meek or feeble person by any stretch but it helped her to have the extra assistance of her pet.

A beat later, one of the students shouted. And it would seem the last key was found! Finally! Smoothing her dress down to make sure everything was in order, she touched her mask before turning back to her comrades. "It seems the Ball is open. Let's enjoy ourselves before the students make a mess of things?" The words hadn't even been fully uttered from her lips before something started. Chaos erupted. Students were tussling amongst the flowers like heathens. Shouts and screams were everywhere! What the fuck was going on?! Taking a couple of steps towards the commotion, Dusana squinted to get a better look at things. Raising her voice, she shouted towards the rag tag bunch making a mess of things. "What the HELL do you think you are doing? We are at a ball for Merlins sake!" Seeing that things weren't going to calm down any time soon, and were students injured? For Morganas sake, they'd left the baby pool and gone straight for the deep end. And there went one of the students into the air. She mentally face palmed herself for thinking this was going to be a nice evening.

Mentally preparing herself for a fight, she turned back to her fellow staff. "We have to help them. Something is going on." There were too many things going on in her brain. She had to triage them. There was a boy on the ground, another (Gideon) locked in some sort of tussle with him. They didn't concern her at the moment. She squinted as she made her next assessment. Was that the Gryffindor? The one who had attacked her. She cast the hateful surge aside. Now wasn't the time to shake him senseless and ask if he'd taken delight out of hurting her. Now was time to help.

The aggressive boy in the air would have to be dealt with first. Was he having some kind of fit? Dusana wasn't positive but he'd have to be dealt with. Settled somehow. He was a danger to the other students, singled out by the fact he was dangling in the air. "Clairmont, Sáez. We need to get to the boy on the ground. Get rid of the other one." She didn't instruct how, and Dusana wasn't even sure herself, but she wasn't opposed to dark means. Even if it was probably going to get her fired. The instructions given, and hopefully received by her coworkers, Dusana lifted Asclepius off her shoulders. He was needed with the students more than with her. "Go help them. Bind that boy!" She pointed towards Gideon. He was smaller, probably not a seventh year, which Dusana felt relief for. "Stop him. If he struggles, squeeze." Instructions given, she left them all to race over towards the dangling boy.

Coming closer towards the commotion, Dusana realised how badly things already were. Especially as red sparks went up over the lot of them. A student had definitely been attacked. Once the danger was past, the Nurse would have a look at them. Perhaps get the fitting boy seen to as well. Glancing amonst the students, Dusana tipped her head towards Meenuah, recognising her as the Prefect who had helped her earlier in the year. "Nicely done Miss Silmataurea." Her own wand in hand, Dusana pointed it towards the levitating boy, pronouncing the incantation she wanted clearly and efficiently. "Orbis." If he wanted to play with dirt, then let him.

No magic brought any answers to his befuddled thinking, so he finally allowed himself permission to let it go. He had some small hope that by doing so, the answer might actually come to him. Funny how that often happened when he least expected it.

His timing for his self-permission to think on something else could not have been more perfect. If he hadn't done it himself, it would've been done for him as some game was afoot that apparently did not involve digging in flowerbeds for an elusive key. No, this particular game apparently involved climbing the tree he was hiding behind. Great. Just flipping fantastic. Here he was trying not to draw attention to himself and some joker decided this was the tree he was going to climb? Stephen let out an irritated sigh and forced himself to play a solo game of Statues. There was literally a whole forest of trees around them to choose from, but it was what it was.

Once the guy started climbing, Stephen thought he might know why this tree was chosen. It wasn't a particularly old tree compared to those around it, so it had a more narrow trunk. The narrow trunk part is likely what drew the guy to it. It's also what had Stephen hoping EmmaLee did not look over this way. She likely wouldn't spy him behind it, but it would seriously chap his hide if his surprise was ruined because of this nonsense. When the fellow finally managed to get his two feet off the ground, he grunted mightily as he struggled to make vertical momentum. Stephen knew this to be the case because the shaking of the lateral lower branches were depositing all manner of debris all over his hat and shoulders. The kid seemed to be going back and forth rather than up.

For what seemed like forever, he silently stood there, seething, with each plink of dusty, scraped bark or twig that hit his hat and shoulders. The kid was going nowhere fast, but then all of a sudden, there was even greater shaking of the limbs accompanied by a heavier cascade of detritus, at least initially. It trickled down to next to nothing, as far as targeting him, since everything now falling was ping-ponging off branches and leaves and being re-directed to areas other than Stephen's hat. The sounds of upward movement were unmistakable as limbs were creaking and leaves on boughs were shaking at greater and greater distances from the trunk's base.

He heard someone say, "Look at him go!" and he would've liked to, but his self-imposed Statute of Statues was currently being enforced, so he had no true idea of what was going on. He suspected someone was finally climbing a tree like an expert, not that it mattered that much to Stephen one way or the other in the there and then. It was never a skill he had ever had trouble with, so good on the tree climber he guessed.

The urge to check his watch was ever growing when he heard a round of applause and something about a fox being the winner. Could be the victor’s last name, but he suspected it was more likely a description given because of the fellow’s mask. It was just a couple of minutes before both climbers were back down and Stephen could be grateful that no more crap would be falling on him. That relief was at first intensified as he could clearly hear behind him that the key had been found and the Ball was finally open.

Excellent.

Then relief dissolved into shock and surprise as this gaggle of geese were seemingly not willing to move on quickly or quietly. All he wanted was to get in and find EmmaLee, even if he didn’t know what he was going to say to her. He had just put his hat back on his head, after shaking all the debris out of his hair and hat and off of his face, when a tall fellow surprisingly hopped down not too far from him. Stephen paid him little notice but for the fact that the handsome fox mask caught his attention. Stylish. Clean lines. Elegant. It made him suddenly wish he had worn his other outfit choice. It would have represented House Wampus proudly with similar class and elegance, but he wanted this evening to be more carefree and fun, so the steampunk theme it had been.

He nodded curtly to the fellow and reached up to brush off his shoulders and brush his hair from his forehead, readying himself to meet up with EmmaLee. Surely she must be inside the Ball already, looking for him, no doubt. It was then that the theater of the absurd was to begin. Or was the more appropriate word 'continue'?

As his neatnik self was applying the final touches for dashing Ball date, not the least of which was a “Scourgify!” to his outfit and shoes, he heard the tree-climbing game master announce something about daring his crew to dance the first dance with the person standing closest to them. Stephen’s mind was mostly elsewhere, like getting the heck out of there, until he heard a near whisper in his vicinity asking him, “Shall we?”

He froze, looking at the guy. Then he quickly snapped out of it and looked over both his own shoulders to see if the guy was talking to some unseen someone behind him. Nope. No one was there unless this fellow had some sixth sense like the kid in that movie who could see dead people. He lifted a hand and pointed to himself. “Me? Are you addressing me?” he asked incredulously. For good measure, he looked over both shoulders once more. Still no one there.

It was right on the tip of his tongue to politely decline, but then it hit him that because he was so late in getting to EmmaLee, she was probably (maybe?) on lookout at the entrance. Going in with this fellow would offer excellent cover and possibly throw her off. She would not be expecting to see him enter with anyone so may not look too closely when he actually did walk into the area.

When he had quickly concluded that yes, he would accept the offer, he felt a sly smile grace his lips. It was then that he noticed the other boy’s smile. He seemed nervous, just the barest twitch at the lips, but nothing major. For whatever reason, this guy had his own reasons for asking and they really didn’t concern Stephen. He was a means to an end for the moment, and it would be a story they could tell their friends later and laugh about. Maybe even as early as that very evening. “Okay. I accept on one condition. I get to lead,” and he chuckled as he started towards the Ball entrance with the elegant fox at his side.

Giddy rushed towards "Georgie", bear in hand flopping haphazardly behind him. A trailing, hidden arsenal. There was a hidden intellect that belied that youthful, seemingly innocent face. He knew exactly what he was doing as he wrapped his arms around this "George", a case of mistaken identity that would result in an unforeseen and absolutely regrettable misadventure. "I luv you George!" He would squeak as he squeezed the nearly teen tight and from the posterior of the bear a slip of silver would slide from between the seams of the plaything. There was nothing unusual about this blade, simple, short and somewhat slender. Easy to hide, even easier to weild.

A girl [@Astra Norrick]would come barreling for him as he plunged the knife into @Finnegan Connor's gut. Giddy would let out a shriek, his hand releasing the blade into the Gryffindor's mortal flesh as he successfully evaded the wild girl's attack and snuggled his face into the unsuspecting first' year's shirt.

He took a deep breath but only smelled blood as Finnegan's own arms constricted around the Hufflepuff. "Y-you're not Georgie," his voice quavered with the feigned revelation as he backed away and his eyes widened. "W-why... why are you? Why did she?" Yes, he was framing the convenient excuse that came for him only to tumble past the two of them he he avoided her desperate attack to tackle him. He wondered why she came for him at all, but he truly did not care for her reasoning. He did not care if she even saw it. The point was the blood, the distraction it offered and the sacrifice that the earth demanded.

Gideon would not escape (yet) from Finn's grip. Again, it did not matter much like the target of his blade or if the girl that would soon take the fall for him knew the truth. Rather he would plan his own hand over the guard of the knife as if he was attempting to stymie the bleeding only it would push the knife even deeper as he did so. "You're bleeding!" He cried the obvious. "HELP! HELP!" He attempted to make a bit of a scene as he stood there in this strange embrace. "That girl," he could not point "attempted to kill us!"
Action: Poorly "stop" the bleeding by pressing down on the handle of the knife since I am 'trapped' in this embrace.

RP: Framing Astra.
