Midspring Festival
A time moved forward, the sun would continue to sink behind the forested hills sprawling around the expanse of the Hogwart's landscape. The Great Lake would reflect the amber and pink hues of its departure, it was a going to be a clear night with nary a cloud. The dynamics of the light changed around the edges and corners of the outside festival, and the people far off in the grounds who had been spending their time in preparation seemed to head back to the festivities, ready for those who were excited about staying up late for some competition of their own.
While the party had only just begun, most people were milling around inside still, buzzing around the goblet in anticipation for what it would reveal. Those who had elected to go outside would not be doing much yet. There was still plenty of time for fire and chaos for those who enjoyed that kind of thing. Otherwise, it was almost serene outside. The calm lilting music was accompanied by the chorus of night insects hidden in the distance, not realizing it was a special occasion. Increasingly, the bonfire would be the beacon that drew people in with its heat and light. A few people were milling about with either flower crowns or masks of their own, and the number was sure to increase.
This place was for those who needed space, fresh air, and a connection back to earth from the tall towers of school rivalry inside. It could be nice if it stayed so peaceful and quiet, though few are naïve enough the believe it will.

Midspring Festival

The Courtyard was perhaps such a common place for most of the students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, one in which they would use for recreation before or after classes or on weekends, or perhaps during school days with a shortcut to their next destination. The Courtyard was somewhere Simon Kincaid tended to avoid since sunlight seemed to spill in there perfectly and well, naturally this dhampir wasn't for such conditions. But this evening, it welcomed both he and his date with music, large bonfires that smelled sweetly of burning balsam, and ribbons of flowers were absolutely everywhere.
"After you finish your sacred snack," he poked fun at her grapes because he didn't enjoy any fruit, "maybe we can make you a flowered crown." From the looks of the students coming from the wooden enclosure ahead, that's what was going on. He could see students running out of there with the crowns in their hands, smiling before placing them on their heads and joining the rest of the students and the peaceful but sprightly music that played in the space.
He continued further out towards the grounds, and he walked hand in hand with AngelFyre and looked over to her with a smile as he did see that there was a large statue of sorts and it was the resemblance of a dragon. Awesome! The two went closer to where they could investigate and there rested a note, inviting students to write down their hopes and dreams and attach it inside before it was set fire.
"Come on that crown has got to wait," he whispered and smiled." The two had already discussed their hopes and dreams one night on the frozen Great Lake. It was that night in which, while it had already begun to fall into place, that he realizes he held affections for this girl. Simon squeezed her hand and led her over to the table where quills and ink and notecards rested. He scripted out his.
Keep my faith in God.
Be happy and make others happy.
Be safe, be healthy, be secure in myself.
Let friends and family know I love them and am there to support them.
Were you only supposed to use one note? Simon glanced around at his four. Luckily there were lots of notecards around for others to still participate in the activity. He thought of about a dozen more. He wanted more peace in the world. He wanted his friends and family to be safe, healthy, happy. He wanted a large family, a satisfying job, to keep activities that inspired him and kept his mind sharp. He wanted others to find inspiration and their spark. Still, the four he made were plenty and he would wait for AngelFyre to write hers before the two would make their way to the effigy and make their way inside to hang the notecards up!
For some, he could see how this VERY close space would make an appealing part of the evening for a young couple, but for someone like him who already was somehow magnetized to his date, it was an added bonus but certainly not a necessity to get them closer. He stepped in first and then pulled her in close to him and smiled when their bodies touched. "I'm starting to like dragons more and more," he teased, hinting to the fact that this particular one, this effigy, was bringing them so close together.
He raised his hands to tie one to the right of him, one on the frame to the left of him, one just below that, and one towards the middle. When he went to lower his arms, there was no longer a good place to put them since the two had shifted into the small space, so they just came around her and rested on her waist. "You should have written a thousand," he whispered to her, lowering his head and bringing his lips to her neck where he began to kiss her.

"I won't spill sauce but if I do then there's magic or did you forget that your a witch, Cass," Charles replied playfully back to Cassie with a half grin. He knew better than to ruin the jacket of one of his closest friends but that didn't mean he couldn't pose a joke on the matter.
Charles nearly forgotten about the guyliner, a touch he added after wanting to try a bit if enhancements for his eyes. Shoving off the words of the two as he spoke"shove off and it isn't to impress anyone," it wasn't. After all the blonde haven't seen Valentine or Xeno that night...
A gaze toward the games, Charles looked over at the two as he spoke"want to sign up for a game? We can have our known bet like winner gets 5 galleons from each of the losers," a smile toward each girl before sliding over toward the sign up's and naturally joining the game that involves fire... hus mind slipping toward the possibilities of what he can manage with fire.
That was when Drew joined them, the last to arrive and the blonde switch to french as he spoke"both of you look cool then Drew is dull, I was hoping to see him make some fun of me instesd of black clothes? And when do I ever wear gloves?" The blonde felt comfortable complaining in French to Cassie, even if Ro could hear he didn't mind. Despite their banter, Charles liked and respected Ro above others.
"Hey, mate. Joining the game to?"
Charles questioned Drew when suddenly he felr a tap on his shoulder, a look. The blonde smiled at the sight of the redhead as he spoke"and chaotic if we have anything to say about it," a nod toward her before looking at the others as he spoke"Hailey, will tag along if thats alright?" Planning to spend a good part of the ball wrecking havoc on others (primarily Hogwarts students) in attendance.
Before exiting the hall, Charles would rest his elbow on Hailey's shoulder and whsiper in the durmstrang native language, "join me in casuing mischief in the festival since Yefim has it covered in here," a sly smile as he ruffled the girl's hair and ran to cacth up with his friends. His group. Smiling at the each, Charles was glad to be there even if their group is missing a few students. Drew had arrived so he won't be the only guy there (strangely through Drew is the only guy in the group attracted to girls....), Ro was there who Charles loves to banter with, and the leader herself. Cassie. It was a shame thay Ayu couldn't attend but they could always send her pictures later in the night.
As he left for the courtyard, the teen would find his sight on the one Haley Rose. A lift of a glass and smile toward her. Hoping to share a longer moment with her at the ball that night.
Entering the festival, the blonde eyes around as he spoke"what shall we do?" Eyes shimmering for the sight of mischief. Catching the rayher larger eiffy, fire engulfed it as the blonde smiled.
"How about a dare to see who can go in that?"
Charles asked, pointing at the tall tower like eiffy lit on fire. Brushing back a few dtrands of blonde hair, he rested a elbow on Cassie's head as he spoke" remember no flirting with anyone in the group, Drew," it was a joke that Charles favored since Drew is straight and Charles is not. Smiling, Charles leaned over to the others as he laughed"how about some dares? Ro, wouldn't you like to prove me a fool while I prove you one?" a dramatic air kiss as he watched the reaction of the group.

Midspring Festival
As she and Simon left the Great Hall and entered the Courtyard to see what delights the Festival may hold in store, she smiled as he teased her about her grapes. She knew he would tolerate some few foods, but fruit, of any type, was most definitely not on that short list.
“It is really too bad you do not like grapes. No, really it is,” she chuckled as she bumped her shoulder into his playfully, but as he was in mid-step, it accidentally caused him to lose his balance just temporarily before his wicked quick dhampir reflexes kicked in and got him set straight again. He then looked back at her with a more than self-satisfied grin, and she could not help but grin back at him. “Very nice save, good Sir. Your quick reflexes never cease to amaze me,” and she smiled quite primly as she regally nodded her head ever so slightly in his direction, and then laughed. “But back to the grapes. They are a very romantic fruit, you know. You see, if you did happen to like them, I would have loved to peel them for you… well, saying that I would have loved to peel them for you may be overstating it more than a tad, as no one really enjoys peeling grapes let alone loves it… but I am very certain that I would have loved to present them to you one by one via kisses, but alas… too bad for the both of us that Simon Kincaid does not like grapes. Or cherries. Or strawberries.”
It got quiet for a second as AngelFyre was thinking while the two continued to walk in the cool of the early evening. She was tapping both her lips at the same time with her index finger as a mischievous smile lit up her face. When she spoke again, it was to ask, “I wonder if lemon sherbets count as a fruit? You should really make note of that in your notebook as something that should be explored STAT.” And with that she giggled and then popped the last, juicy grape into her mouth, licked her lips verrrrry slowly and then positioned it between her teeth for a couple of seconds before biting into it and moving the delectable onto her tongue, rolling it there between her tongue and palate before swallowing. She lifted her finger up to her lips to collect any residual juice that her tongue may have missed, and then she licked the finger as well. “Yep. You should look into that sooner than STAT I would say.”
Somewhat glad that the dragon took Simon’s mind off of the flower crowns, she was delighted to see his excitement at the amazing dragon a little off in the distance. When she heard about it she just knew this was going to be right up his alley. They hurried up to it and she was surprised that there was no one else around it. There were instructions to write your dream on a note and then enter the dragon to hang it so it would burn with the dragon later that evening. How delightful!
She reached for a quill and a parchment note. And then she got sort of stuck on what to put down. She glanced over at Simon who was writing like a madman. He had three parchments next to him and was reaching for a fourth. She was so clear on what her dreams were. They had shared them that night at the Great Lake, so why the hesitation now? She felt like she had everything she had any right to ask for right now. Would asking for more tip the scales out of balance and she would lose this and more? When she finally put quill to parchment, she kept it simple and maybe just a little cryptic, but she knew what she meant.
a million dreams in the one
&
please let Simon’s dreams come true…even if…
She kept her head down a little longer after finishing, mainly because she was tearing up and she did not want him to see that. So blinking like crazy, she was slowly getting the waterworks in check. When she raised her head and placed the quill in the inkwell, he grabbed her hand and eagerly drew her into the dragon with him. It was a very tight fit, and the ridiculous volume of her dress made moving even more difficult, not that either one of them was complaining about the close quarters. While Simon was busy hanging his 4 notes, AngelFyre placed a kiss on hers, leaving the shape of her lips in a dusty rose color next to her dream for Simon. Just behind him was a secure place to rest her note, and when she had finished, her arms were around him and when he had finished, his arms were on her waist. And Simon being Simon leaned down and kissed her on the neck. She could hear his breaths quicken and their release took a miraculous path down her back, sending shivers that warmed her, not cooled her. And AngelFyre being AngelFyre responded as she always did to his touch and engaged wholeheartedly, this time by leaning her head into his and motioning with her chin for him to lift his face so she could taste his lips. When she was certain she would not be able to breathe any longer, she pulled back and smiled at him, clearing her throat a little.
“I – I think we should go check out those flower crowns now,” she said as she took his hand, smiling boldly at him, and led the way out of the miraculous dragon effigy and back towards the crowd. “Only, would it disappoint you if instead of flower crowns we made masks? The flowers will die, but I will be able to keep the mask forever.”

𝕽egina didn't let go of Faye's hand as they made their ways towards the festival. The sun was slowly setting already, painting the skies in vibrant shades of orange and yellow, even a dash of pink and purple matching the colour of the Gryffindor's eyes. The breath of fresh air calmed her nerves greatly as she felt the buzzing adrenaline inside the Great Hall earlier melted away completely to replace something akin to slight bashfulness as she turned around to face Faye. They were not quite alone, as there were a few other attendees around, but when Regina's gaze met her date, somehow it felt like they were the only people in the world. It was a pleasant feeling that she wasn't accustomed to, but was gladly welcoming.Interacting with @Faye Simmons

"Are you feeling better now?" The Heiress asked with a gentle voice. "We will not be overwhelmed by social anxiety here. Let's enjoy ourselves for a bit before returning."
She did not smile often, but the ravenette felt it was simply so easy for her lips to curve upwards in the other girl's presence. However, Regina was still unfamiliar with this new mellow side to herself that she never knew she had, and it made her hesitant enough to let go of Faye's hand--reluctantly--and turned away to hide her face under the pretense of looking at which activities they should try.
"Is there something you would like to do here? I am...comfortable with anything you suggest."
Regina couldn't help but avoid looking at Faye. The reality of her actions just a few moments prior was starting to catch up with her mind and she could feel the smallest lick of mortification swirling darkly inside her stomach. It was uncharacteristic of her to hold someone else's hand like that in a public place with so many people around. She hoped with all her might that her older siblings or any other Pureblood who was acquainted with her family wouldn't have noticed. There was no telling how her parents would react if they knew she was getting cozy with a commoner Muggleborn witch, especially when Regina knew she was due for a betrothal next year once she turned 14.

It was a good thing they had gotten out when they had. As Evelynn and Bellamy took a promenade around the courtyard, absent chatter spanning between them, a screeching shrill (a la one Erin Ryan reaching near the level of a Veela scream) echoed out from the direction of the castle, catching the prefect's attention even over the lovely lilts of the quartet. "Well, they sound rather displeased, don't they.." she muttered, glancing briefly at her companion to gauge their reaction. "What say you? Another lovely gown ruined at the hands of that Durmstrang buffoon?" she wondered conspiratorially, tilting her head in Bellamy's direction, voice low. "Or perhaps a jealous revelation?" A few other suggestions would flow from her lips as she entertained herself attempting to envision the prompt for the uproar.
Then something would clasp around her arm. Almost immediately, gooseflesh erupted across her skin, hairs jumping to attention as a wash of adrenaline bolted her into action in a way that one might have thought her electrocuted by the touch. In a blur, she stepped back, spun, and snapped her head around to towards the source of the contact, already mentally reaching for the wand strapped to her legs even if her hand hadn't quite gotten that far. Heart in her throat, she wasn't exactly sure what she had expected to see. A hag, maybe? Or a dhampir with fangs bared? Nobody every touched her unannounced, and the contact had led her subconscious to jump to conclusions of an attack, evidently dismissing the possibility that it could be anything less-than.
Only it wasn't a face of animosity that stared back at her, and a second or two passed as her mind calmed enough to register the familiar countenance of Marshal. The pierce of her hailstorm gaze didn't soften from its consternation, exactly, so much as transformed into one of defensive retaliation. While the hand of the arm he yet grasped lay splayed across her clavicles as though to temper the still racing thrum of her quickened pulse, the other lashed itself forward to bat away his gesturing hand like the pawing of an irate kitten. "Have you not heard of announcing your presence?" she accused him, brows furrowing at their midline, conveniently leaving out the admission of him having caused her a fright.
"And where have you been, anyway?" she continued, shoulders rising and falling with a steadying breath to dismiss the last of her uncalled for reaction, but the notice of his attire served as a better distraction. "We were looking for you." Even while she spoke, her gaze dipped, drifting from his face to drop along the length of his neck to his collar, along the lapels and lines of his tied and lapels, down to the buttons of his jacket. A step back had been taken as he pulled his hand away from her, affording her the space to tilt her head and finish her shameless assessment of his appearance. "Turn around," she coaxed, fingers arcing as though swiping right would spin an invisible pedestal, eyes climbing right back up again from his feet.
It was impressive, really, the way he carried himself. Unfair, in a way. Sometimes it seemed like boys could just toss on a suit and instantly be transformed into a respectable young man with hardly any effort required. She, on the other hand, would have to make sure that the cut of her dress was humble, but flattering; that the colours matched her skin tone but didn't clash with her hair; she she was fashionable, locks tamed, face completed. She was almost envious of how carefree Marshal was as he stood there, hair slicked back with what had likely been a single swipe of his mitt, eyes already alight with excitement for the events of the festivities and not at all honed in on how he was perceived by others, or what dangers might lurk around the next bend..
Only a twitch of her mouth accompanied the preoccupied depth of her eyes as they honed in on small details of his suit. Fingers reached out, first to pluck off a stray piece of hair—cat fur, probably—then to straighten out his lapels, and finally to button up the top button of his shirt almost hidden behind his tie. And then snugging that up, too. For those few minutes, she was the artist inspecting the final product of her work, and Marshal, little more than a living, breathing mannequin. Still, by the end of it, she flared a brow and smirked, "You look quite nice tonight, you know. You ought to take my advice more often."
"And yes, I saw the dragon..." she replied, skipping right over his remarks about puzzles or chess pieces or whatever that had been about, and rolling her eyes at his childishly energy. You could dress a boy up, but you certainly couldn't squash his awed exuberance. She should know. She had tried. "It is certainly impressive," she would admit, redirecting her attention away from him and back towards the behemoth silhouetted against the setting sky. "I am not entirely certain what they are planning with it, but I certainly hope it is not brought to life."
She hadn't considered that possibility, and the notion was positively frightening. For a moment, her mind entertained the illusion that of its blinking visage, jaws ripping apart to burst forth a gush of searing flame, the likes of which never yet witnessed and brought all the more to life by the buffeting of the creature's massive wings. Then she shook her head, lips pursed. "No, that would be entirely preposterous," she concluded. "However.." She glanced back towards Marshal, then. "There have been students entering through it, I think. Perhaps there is something there? I haven't any particular preferences on what we do." Then, glancing to Bellamy. "What of— Oh! Pardon me, Marshal, this is Ivy Bellamy, one of my classmates. She only recently returned to school again and hadn't the opportunity to make other arrangements, and so I invited her to join us." She stepped back to allow the two to properly meet. "And this is Marshal Mozor, second year."

Parting company from her 'date', the former Gryffindor was at her beckon call. She was faultless in his eyes, much like his cousins. All she needed to do was scream his name and he would come running on his metaphorical white steed. He would defend her to his deficit, his death in fact.
Men were such simple creatures, driven by simple, mortal aspirations and inclinations. The need to feed, bleed and breed. Yet always repressed, society dictates this to be do. To suppress that which makes him human, that which makes him a man because it is wrong, somehow filthy. They become cowards in the abundance of their conscience. The only way to be rid of temptation is to yield to it.
She was in search of one Flash Holmwood here in the courtyard. She saw the Slytherin for what he truly was. The selfish, egotistical, surely ambitious teen that he was. His dark truth, his filthy, shameful die. His dark passenger of his own making. This temptation to which he yielded. His violent, bloody nature hidden behind the sweet façade of a sensible, sensitive boy. One that is well-liked, perhaps even loved, universally accepted by his peers. Well, living peers in any case.
Perhaps it is time to raise a bit of hell.
The click of stiletto heels on cobblestone would herald her approach. But who was looking, in a sea of beautiful women and men for a devil. She lacked the vibrant hues of spring that most of the other young women donned, of lilac and robin egg, of flowy, soft silks and billowy chiffons. She wore dark lace. Her hair pulled back from her face, no ringlets or flowy locks. No, even in a veritable ocean of beautiful young women, the devil finds a way to stand out.
She would walk up behind Flash, not that she was hiding her entrance, she just did not need eyes on her. No, Flash is the one that liked being looked at. Being noticed, adored. "Found you" her voice would almost sing as she stood behind the teen looking upon the same scene twice. [Note: Flash is welcome to see her enter the courtyard and avoid the jump scare.] Hands would descend upon his shoulders and if they met the cloth he donned they would walk across his collar. Her hands bare, less a couple of mismatched somewhat gaudy rings and long fingernails painted black and filed to a clean, rounded tip.
Did he remember her by voice alone?
Perhaps not.
The strong scent of rosemary, tansy, lavender, carnation, and feverfew. A combination a historian would be more likely to recognize. For others, a strong, herbal tea-like scent, not particularly offensive but strong. A scent that filled the air on that day, on September first. A day that did not change him, he was already something exceptional, but it was a day he would recall none-the-less. A day where he lost something that was his, the replacement not quite the same. People like Flash do not like to lose, their ego would never stand for it.
Yet there are many that smell of flowers on such a fine spring day.
"Happy spring, the eye looks great," mwah. Just the air, no worries dear Mister Holmwood, your cheek belongs to whom... Jack Burnett now isn't it?

With both feet out of the door, the cold, crisp air of a Scottish April hit the Ravenclaw’s face, instantly calming her down. Without the packed anxiety of the overwhelming crowds, there was something satisfying about the way her hand was clasped in her friend’s. Or was it more than that? Her eyes snuck a look down at her hands but chickened out, a blush forming on her face.
A familiar voice distracted her from her awkwardness and hazel eyes met orchid, her signature face-scrunching smile appearing.
“Oh, yeah, better. Totally. Love it. Love, love, love, love.”Even with her anxiety basically dissipated, Faye still felt that worry at the back of her head whenever she was asked a question by Regina. Like something she would say would be wrong, or that she’d mess everything up.
However, a pout replaced her happy smile when the Ravenclaw felt her hand slack, suddenly left hanging. Her head bent slightly, she gazed gloomily at the spot where their hands were joined just seconds before.
The emerging sunset took her anxious eyes away from her hand and up to the colours painting the evening sky orange and pink. Her smile returned as goofy mood was injected into her mannerisms, almost as if the sunset had done it to her.
A bounce in her step, Faye sped off into the courtyard, jumping around and dancing on the cobblestones, an even bigger smile on her face. If it could even get bigger.
“Come on and look at this! Isn’t this fun! Weeeee!”There were happy tears pricking at her eyes now, her arms flying around as she spun recklessly, but with a pinch of elegance, around like the festival was an empty ballroom.
It looked silly, but she was happy.

The change in scenery was rather eye-opening, and there was certainly a lot more to the courtyard than Hunter was expecting. The massive bonfire with its sounds of crackling flames roaring above the courtyard walls was rather exhilarating to be close by. A few students could be seen wielding torches, and some began to light their candles as the golden rays of light were bound to vanish soon enough. It was only a matter of time till fire, the drop of sunlight gifted by the gods, would be the only thing illuminating the night sky. It seemed a bit odd to Hunter for such a massive flame to be present during a ball that was covered in plants, flowers, and petals; however, wasn't going to argue since nothing appeared to be out of control yet.
Behind the flames was what Hunter could only presume to be the creator of the bonfire, the effigy dragon. With its massive figure close to the bonfire, Hunter was curious as to what the point of the ferocious beast was. Ultimately it seemed like an overall grand decoration, but he could see students approaching a sign close by, and... entering inside? He was rather curious to go and see what everyone was doing inside the dragon effigy, but he also wanted to create a mask for himself and possibly a flower crown for Judith. The courtyard was full of all sorts of items and activities, it was honestly a bit overwhelming on what to choose first. Hunter could then feel his anxiety creep upon him. Like a creature scratching its claws by his feet and attempting to force its weight upon his chest, he found it slightly hard to speak. He shook his head a little and came back to reality. Placeboes didn't work as well as actual medicines or potions, but Hunter probably still had it in him. Although, he soon realized he was still holding Judith's hand, and the blushing came back to his face. He gave a slight cough to clear his throat, "W-where should we head first? I honestly wasn't expecting there to be so much. I'm curious about what's occurring at the dragon, but they're making masks and flower crowns over there. What do you think Judith?" His voice shook for a split second but sounded clear in the end.

She smiled once again when Hunter had made the comment in the Great Hall. She still could just not believe she was spending the evening with Hunter. She was even surprised he had taken her hand to walk to the Courtyard together. Why had she even asked for his hand in the first place? Judith was never the one to have too much physical contact with others, not even with her siblings or her parents. She was extremely happy whenever she got a hug tho, but she never had given a hand, for sure since it wasn't allowed at her previous schools, but even tho she had never wanted to, now she did.
She looked around to admire the Courtyard, as there was so much they could be doing she decided on just following Hunter. "I'm good with everything really! Masks and flower crowns sound fun! Let's move over there!" she said and smiled. She looked at the hunter, and then looked back at all the people who were already crafting and enjoying themselves. She wasn't sure what she would be making, a flower crown or a mask? Both of the options seemed enjoyable. Looked over at Hunter, not sure what he wanted to do first. "So since the masks probably will be animal-related, what are you planning to choose? Which animal would you like to be?" She asked him curiously.
