New Head of Ilvermorny!

We are pleased to announce that @Valour Argentum will be joining the staff team as the new Headmaster of Ilvermorny, Arkady Piecyk. Valour has been a very active user with lots of in-character engagement, and we look forward to seeing the new lore and events they will bring to Ilvermornians!

This does mean that we are saying goodbye to Alan Dolus/Oliver Armani, but we hope to continue to see them around the site!

Slytherin Prefect

We welcome our newest Slytherin Prefect, @Cecilia Merrick to the team. Cecilia is a Quidditch co-Captain for Slytherin and a wonderfully engaged member that many of us are familiar with. We look forward to seeing what they bring to the community. That does mean we are also saying farewell to @Luca Corranado, so please thank him for his time and give him your appreciation.

Index Clearing Notice

On June 1, we will be conducting our biannual Index Clearing. This is our routine activity check, but this round is especially important due to the fact that players need to be Indexed to graduate in July as well as the end of the Welcome Back Package as previously announced in December 2025.

What is Index Clearing?
Any member who has posted on-site at least once in the past 6 months - yes, even in forum games - will be marked as ACTIVE. Members who have not posted within this timeframe will be removed from Index and must reactivate their character via the Index Re-Registration link to return.

Why is Index registration important? It's required to:
‣ Graduate to the next school year
‣ Participate in events, balls, or summer camp
‣ Participate in sports such as duelling, quidditch and broom racing

What About iNPC?
To remain active with an iNPC, players do need to post on site with them to remain active. iNPCs have their own unique account and should be used. To remain active on an iNPC account, like on a PC account, players need to post at least once every 6 months on their iNPC account. This can be anywhere on site, including forum games. If a player's iNPC have been removed for inactivity, they would need to reactivate their iNPC via the iNPC Re-Registration link.

iNPC Roster Clearing Notice

On June 1, we will be conducting our biannual iNPC roster clearing. As iNPC has its own account, it's important to be on the iNPC school roster to graduate in July.

Members who have not posted within this timeframe will be removed from the iNPC school roster and must reactivate their character via the iNPC Re-Registration link to return.

Being Held Back a Year

Image posted by the member
All indexed users will be automatically graduated to the next year on or shortly after July 1. This is a manual process so this might take us a few days. So, this means that you will need to have your character Indexed by July 1 to graduate to the next year, otherwise they will be held back.

For players that wish to stay back a year, you do not need to be removed from Index (this is in fact a terrible idea), you just need to contact your Head of House and tell them that you wish to stay back the year. As it is possible that your Head of House might miss your message to them, feel free to add myself, Solomon Lear to this message. Players choose to stay back for many reasons, such as registering onto the site late in the year and wanting to "get the full year experience," having a friend join that they want to be the same year as, or because they feel this will fit their character. The only restriction to this is: if you have roleplayed in the school this year, we are not able to undo your existence here. You would have been here at those times.

For players that have been held back, we do offer them a chance to catch-up. This is called the Advancement Program, this is an opportunity for players that have been held back one or more years. Information on this program can be found here. This opens up to general users on July 1, however for players in their 6th year that should be graduating that have been held back, we are offering them this option early. They are free to apply starting on June 1 to catch up. The Advancement Program otherwise will be open to players from July 1 to August 31.

Welcome Our Newest Headmaster of Uagadou

We welcome our newest member of staff Nadira Bakari, Headmistress of Uagadou played by @Leo Noxley in replacement of @Anthonie Engelbrecht, played by @Archer Duncan and @Hans Jenssen-Schäfer (iNPC). We look forward to everything that they will bring to the community and thank Anthonie for all their hard work.

As a member of the iNPC Team, Nadira will be working hard to develop and improve Uagadou, our wizarding school in Africa. This school covers a massive geographical area and touches so many cultures, making this school unique in so many ways.

Community Safety Reminder

Do not ask other users for personal real-life information.

This includes, but is not limited to:
  • age, even staff we are looking for over or under 16 and under or over 18 for the sake of modules in applications
  • location
  • school
  • workplace
  • phone numbers
  • social media accounts
  • personal photographs
  • other identifying information
Even if meant casually or harmlessly, these kinds of questions can make others uncomfortable and creates safety concerns in an online environment.

We want the community to remain a safe and comfortable space for everyone. If another user wishes to share personal information voluntarily, that is their decision, but public threads where players provide personal information especially when targeted towards minor users is not something we can or will allow.

Please keep interactions respectful and focused on the community, characters, and shared interests rather than real-life identities.

Thank you for your cooperation.

General Behavior Reminder

Please remember that our site rules regarding flaming, flame baiting, harassment, and inappropriate conduct remain in effect at all times.

We are a diverse community made up of people from many different backgrounds, age groups, cultures, religions, identities, and life experiences. Some members are highly academic, others are more creatively focused, and many simply come here to relax and enjoy the community. Treat one another with respect.

A few important reminders:
  • Do not pressure or guilt other users into participating in things they are uncomfortable with.
  • Be mindful with innuendo or sexually suggestive humor, especially as minors are present within the community.
  • Encouraging others to break rules, mislead users, or create confusion is not acceptable behavior.
  • "Joking" is not an excuse for making others uncomfortable or creating a hostile environment.

We generally try not to micromanage the community and prefer to allow people room to joke around and have fun. Please do not take advantage of that flexibility by pushing boundaries to the point that staff intervention becomes necessary.

Thank you for helping keep the community welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.
