Name of the ability: Restricted Potions Section (Y6 ability)
Describe why this fits your character:
Reducio
After four and a half years at Hogwarts, no one who knew her would have been too surprised to learn that Méabh had somehow gotten her hands on the recipes to potions that most people definitely shouldn't have access to. She was good at finding things she shouldn't be able to get, especially if they had to do with potions, be it obscure ingredients or simply the potions themselves, even if they hadn't learned about them in class yet, bought and traded from older students. Recipes only found in the restricted section? Her friends would believe it, no questions asked. Well, perhaps a few questions asked, but Méabh would likely deflect with a grin and a vague comment. She enjoyed keeping them guessing, a lot more than her friends enjoyed guessing, but they'd learned to live with it.

Truth was, Méabh had been trying. There were plenty fascinating potions that she was itching to try that weren't taught in class, because they were too dangerous or whatever, but as it turns out, their recipes were hellishly difficult to find. Veritaserum, Mopsus Potion, and, of course, Felix Felicis... Those were just a few examples.

After a few months of digging, and a few failed attempts to sneak into the restricted section of the library and find them there, and Méabh had to admit that perhaps she might need to go the official way with this one. Ask the professor. The shame.

Even worse was that the professor was far from easy to convince that she was to be trusted with the potions she was asking for, despite well-placed words and flattery. Not because she wasn't capable of the brewing part of the whole deal, her competence wasn't the question. No, her maturity and sense of responsibility were being doubted. She was supposed to prove she could be entrusted with these powerful and more than a little dangerous potions, and that more than anything threw a wrench into her plans. How was she supposed to prove something like that?

As it turned out, sincerity helped (as did her excellent results in the Potions O.W.L.s). It took her a few more months of moping to straighten herself out a bit, to take her classes more seriously, and to stop attempting to acquire what she wanted via the back alleys. There was something to be said about honesty, it seemed; and when she approached the professor again in her sixth year at the school, metaphorical hat in hand and almost a year without getting into any (real) trouble on her record, they were much more willing to hear her out.

And boy, for the things she learned, the effort had been worth it.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: The Muggle Condition

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it): We already know from Meris’ backstory her proclivity toward creating muggle machines to make work easier. Here I share yet another story of her ingenuity and unique knack for creating unusual solutions to everyday problems.

Reducio
Meris walked into her room and found her diary laying open on the floor in her room. Furiously she scooped it up off the floor and put it on her bed. There was just no privacy in this room. To many people and to little space made that problem almost impossible to solve. Surely there was someway she could hide her stuff in plain sight!

Off she went to the library to use the internet to do some research. After a few hours of numbing research on the internet, which, by the way, threatened to swallow her whole, she found what she was looking for. An optical illusion created by mirrors. Looked like it was going to take a lot of mirrors.

She made her way back home and started on her quest. She also did not really tell anyone about her quest. It wouldn’t be secret if everyone knew about it. First she pulled out the gift card her Mamgu and Tadgu had given her for Christmas. Then she went online and found mirror tiles with adhesive backs and ordered enough of them to cover all the surfaces that needed covering.

Then came the hard work. Putting it together while no one was home. That was a harder challenge. With such a big family someone was almost always home. Finally, one night all the kids were out, and Meris saw her opportunity. She cleared out their room and started putting in the mirrors. Carefully she pressed them together so there were no seams and made an area just off her bed to be the hidden area and she put in it a little book case to keep her private personal things in.

It worked! She could not see the shelf at all. The corner looked entirely empty. When she moved the stuff back into her room it just made it look like there was a corner of the same stuff on the other side. Meris jumped up and down and clapped happily. She managed to keep that corner hidden for a whole month and a half till the twins started tossing a ball around the room and it hit the mirror in front of her hidden corner. It shattered. There was mirror glass all over the floor. Mam had come in and just sighed at the mess and pointed at Meris then at the broom. Meris could see a proud smile threatening to peak out the corners of Mam’s mouth.

“You better get this cleaned up before Tad gets home. You know how he feels about a neat and tidy room.” She had said to her.

“Yes, Mam. I’ll get it done right now.” Meris grabbed the broom and swept up the mess. At least not all of the mirrors had shattered. When she was done cleaning Meris dumped the mirror shards out in the bin. To bad that it hadn’t made it near as long as the sand clock cat feeder. That one had been epic.

Since Erin could remember, she had always enjoyed helping her Momma in the garden. That, combined with Erin's ever-growing knack for investigating curiosities, has caused Erin to grow quite fond of collecting any bits and bobs that she finds lying around. From the humble potato peel to the... rather disgusting... rotten fig, Erin has always seemed to be on the lookout for all things even mildly labeled 'intriguing'.

While living in the United States, Erin's Momma and Dad would often take her to local parks and forests and would show Erin how to look for all sorts of interesting ingredients like mushrooms, wild onions, and even certain edible flowers. Erin quickly became fascinated with how diverse the flora was around her home, and would find almost any excuse to have her parents take her exploring to find new, fascinating plants and ingredients. Her parents never minded taking Erin out to explore, though—Erin always seemed to be rather good at finding things that proved useful later on.

When her family made the move from the Southeastern part of the United States to her Momma's hometown of Donegal, Ireland, Erin's Grandmother took to teaching Erin how to begin journaling all of her finds. She started with little things, explaining all of the different weeds and flowers around the garden and their many uses, then worked her way to teaching Erin about vegetables, fruits and other plants and how many different ingredients could be combined to create all sorts of things, from yummy stews to helpful potions. As Erin grew older, Erin's Grandmother has given Erin her own special part of the garden to use to both grow her own simple plants as well as to use as a "storage section" of sorts (Erin's Momma wasn't particularly fond of the growing jars of beetle eyes and leeches sitting in the house).

Since then, Erin has taken her journal with her everywhere, logging anything and everything she could find and, when able, storing samples of her findings in hopes of finding a good use for them later. While at Hogwarts, Erin has made it a mission to continue to collect, store, and study all types of interesting things she may find—be them useful or not. Taking her knowledge for journaling her findings and collecting things, there's no doubt that any one of Erin's schoolmates would be sure that there is always something Erin can manage to pull from her "pockets of many things".

The first year of Shay living with his father after being taken away from his mother was a learning experience for both parent and child. Due to his rather unorthodox upbringing, Shay didn't know how to be a proper Pureblood child, and Ivor didn't know how to be a proper father. Neither of them were at fault, but there was a fundamental divide between them that was filled with resentment from Shay's side. Since the people who had taken him from his mother weren't around, the only one he could turn his bitterness and blame towards was the only person left in his life.

He raised hell in the Rosewood mansion, and like the wild child he was, he ran away from home the moment Ivor wasn't paying attention. It became a frustrating pattern for both of them; Ivor's stiff attempts to bond with his son being taken the wrong way, Shay's confusion driving him from the house the moment Ivor's back was turned, and then the exhausted wizard hunting his son down to bring him home where it was safe.

Most of these brief excursions were without consequence since Ivor watched with the eyes of a hawk for trouble and usually noticed within less than an hour after Shay ran off, but it only takes one slip up for the consequences to get out of hand.

Checking in on Shay and finding him asleep, Ivor went to bed one night after a particularly tiring day and didn't hear his son creep out of bed. Shay, who often made off in whatever direction his eyes first fell on, decided to try for the woods this time. He was new to the Wizarding World and had no idea what sorts of magical creatures could await in forests - to him, every place was as friendly as the wood he'd lived in with his mother. A full moon didn't mean anything in particular to him other than the fact that it made shadows easier to pierce with a long look.

Ivor, who was often troubled by nightmares from his past, woke up from one with a feeling of unease that night. Something felt wrong, and he decided to check in on his son to ease his mind. Finding a cold bed on the night the forest became the playing ground of werewolves did the opposite.

In the forest, hand cupped around a lantern so no one would see the light, Shay felt something akin to cold water trickling down the back of his neck for the first time in his life in the wild. Something in the forest was moving that was larger than anything he was used to, and it wasn't the heavy snuffling of a bear looking for berries.

Ivor didn't know which way Shay had gone, but he went straight for the woods, knowing that any other way didn't hold the kind of danger that they held. As long as he ruled out that one place, things would be okay and he could find the boy at his leisure since the area he lived in didn't have any other dangers.

Hiding from the creature he could hear didn't work well when it could smell him, and though Shay had planned to keep his back pressed against the tree as it searched the area, it got too close to him for comfort. He broke into a run, dropping the lantern so he could pump his arms for maximum speed, wondering if the hot breath on his neck was his imagination.

Ivor heard a howl and a scream. So it was the woods.

The rest of the night didn't hold many memories that bore mentioning for Shay. The last thing he remembered was eyes, snout, and teeth. There was pain, but he sank into unconsciousness and didn't wake for hours. When he did next, he was somewhat delirious and fevered, back at the mansion in his bed. Ivor was beside him and held him down while he shouted about the teeth.

So it went for the next couple of days, the nightmares, the flashes of pain, and his father there the entire time. Ivor had something which made the wounds close up - Shay didn't know what it was - but it seemed like magic couldn't heal the bite marks on his shoulder or the scars where claws had raked down his back and chest. That didn't worry him half as much as what the creature was, though.

When he finally came out of his fevered state, Ivor explained it. That werewolves were real, that he had been bitten, that life as he knew it was about to change in a large way going forward. Especially on full moons.

Shay didn't know how to feel about the whole situation, but he did know that there hadn't been a single time he'd woken up alone. Regardless of what had passed between them before, that was the last time Shay ran away from his father's house. Neither of them were any better at communicating with each other, but... something had changed.

After that, Ivor's mass of wealth easily allowed him to keep a stock of Wolfsbane Potion, and since the mansion had room aplenty Shay was kept in the basement on nights of the full moon so he could sleep through his transformation in wolf form, no danger to himself or anybody else. While he understands that this more than just an inconvenience, he has yet to come to terms with exactly how much of an affect his condition can have on his life.

It was by Jingjing’s 11th birthday when her grandmother, Shi Hongyu, knew her granddaughter had the Sight. There had been subtle signs over the years. Jingjing had rarely suffered the skinned knees and elbows typical of childhood, and often seemed to land on her feet or catch herself from falling. Even as a very young child, Jingjing seemed to have a knack for finding things that were lost – coins dropped on the street, the neighbor’s pet kneazle stuck in a tree, and her mother’s antique pearl earrings that had been accidentally tossed in the trash bin.

It came as no big surprise to Hongyu that her granddaughter had inherited such a precious gift, but it would certainly be a shock to the girl’s parents and Jingjing herself. Jingjing’s mother’s Muggle parents must have a strong magical lineage if you traced the bloodline back far enough. Jingjing’s father had never known his own father, but the Sight had indeed been passed down to Jingjing from this lost connection. It was not a revelation Hongyu was prepared to share with her son and family just yet. Some secrets were too painful to set free.

Hongyu had once been happily married to a Seer, Yin Jixuan, who descended from a line of Seers in the Henan Province of China. The Yins were highly respected and trusted in their home village and surrounding communities. The magical family was not known for world-changing prophecies, but instead simple and reliable flashes of intuition. Marriages were proposed by their words and babies named by their readings. It was not often that a member of the Yin family had a full-fledged vision of prophecy, but when it did happen it was shared and then intensely studied by the elders.

Hongyu was proud to be able to call Jixuan her husband, and honored to possibly bear the next Seer in the long-established line after she became pregnant with their first child. It was in her eighth month of pregnancy when Jixuan had a terrible prophecy.

“An exchange of silk marks a cursed age. Once many becomes one, the thread will fray and the son shall die at the hand of the father.”

The wizard was convinced he saw not only the downfall of his family, but that he would one day murder his own son. Terrified of the ramifications, he shared the prophecy only with his wife, Hongyu, and did not tell the elders what he had seen. He promised his wife he would determine how best to deal with the prophecy, but that she shouldn’t divulge even a single word of it to anyone.

The next morning, Jixuan was gone. He left absolutely nothing; no goodbye note for his wife and no memento for his future child. Hongyu never saw her husband again. Though a part of her wanted to seek him out using any means necessary, magical or otherwise, she did not. Though the choice must have pained him, Jixuan had obviously done what he thought was best to keep his son and his family safe. After all, the prophecy could never come true if he never met his son.

Hongyu’s son was born a month later. Much speculation surrounded his birth and Jixuan’s disappearance, and eventually the questions from the Yin family and the whispered rumors from the villagers became too much for Hongyu to bear. Before her son was even a year old the witch moved far south to the Yunnan Province, raising him entirely by herself. She never told her son about his father, or the prophecy, or about his extended family. As far as her son knew, his father had been a normal wizard who had disappeared from a bad case of Vanishing Sickness.

Now that son was an adult with children of his own, and one of those children was showing signs of the very talent that had secretly fractured the family. How could Hongyu tell Jingjing? She’d be terrified of her own powers before they even properly manifested. It was too much weight to place on an 11-year-old’s shoulders.

She made the decision to not share her knowledge about Jingjing’s talent. Not yet. It was selfish, perhaps, but Hongyu was no stranger to selfish decisions and the guilt that accompanied them. The elderly witch may not have been a Seer herself, but the threads of fate were still hers to manipulate.

Avery Leveret had always been one for precision, in fact he prided himself on his accuracy even before he had stepped a foot onto the grounds of Hogwarts. In the last couple of years before it came to Avery's turn to attend, he spent it playing with his much older brothers; who were both adult wizards in their own right. They played a variation of Wizard-dodgeball, but when their mother Cadence commanded them to look after Avery and include him, they had to resort to more; muggle means. They spent a fair bit of their time playing a variety of games and sports that honed his accuracy, dodgeball, ball-toss, even a spot of archery, which the three of them did frequently around the manor grounds.

As they were older, his brothers kept trying to hone their skills by hitting smaller and smaller targets set at various distances. Avery never excelled to the level of an adult but he had definitely picked up a few tricks that would serve to advantage him.

As part of his ambition to succeed at everything he put his mind to, he took the lectures and advice of his brothers to the next level and ended up scouring the Leveret Manor's shelves for anything that could help him with the intellectual aspect of precision and accuracy. Alas they were out, but sure enough he was able to get a dusty copy of "The Art of Precision: Mastering Accuracy Without Spells" on his next visit to Diagon Alley with his mother. It was an old and worn volume that hadn't sold many copies by the looks of it; but it was exactly what he wanted- needed.

He was drawn to the book like a moth to a flame, as he learned about how accuracy wasn't just ones physical composure but also the ability to focus ones' mind and clear it of distractions; how to control his breathing and movements, how to visualise targets with extreme detail, and all of this was on top of his physical experience. On their next archery outing, he began to turn theory into practice, by applying these methods alongside the ability to track moving objects; which his brothers had helped him with as they had levitated a crate of tomatoes into the air; and he was tasked with putting a training arrow through each of them.

Sure enough, he found that his accuracy was improving, and his mother sought to implement this into his routines quite frequently seeing as he; had a passion for it, and seemed good at it.

As he entered Hogwarts as a young Slytherin student, Avery had been eager to put his accuracy to the test. He had heard tales of the magical duels that took place in the school, and couldn't wait to try his hand at them. However, he soon realised that his lack of spells in his arsenal made it difficult to keep up with his peers.

From that day forward, Avery continued to practice the techniques he had learned, constantly striving to improve his accuracy and precision. He knew that he still had much to learn, but he was determined to become the best he could be. That was before he had finally arrived in Hogwarts; where he could now spend time practising with spells; once he knew their appropriate incantations and somatic gestures with his sleek new wand; determined to improve, to the point that he could be comfortable in a duel.

Outside of lesson, Avery spent countless hours practicing his aim in the Slytherin common room. It was actually quite annoying that the boy always seemed to have a small rubber ball on him that he had brought from home, that he could bounce off of the floors, walls or anything he thought could be a good challenge to catch the rebound off of.

I have applied to be indexed which should be approved any day now, as long as there's no hiccups!

Ravi, Raizel’s father, had been gifted with skills in charms during his time in Hogwarts. Some say that it runs in his blood due to the fact that he comes from the pureblood wizardry family of Voltrouz. The family had been known for their talents in charms and spells specializing in defense against the dark arts and their ancestors’ time as duelists in Hogwarts. Ravi immediately took interest in the charms subject during his youth as if it was calling him, finding it rather natural because of his family’s history with the said subject and how they are gifted with it.

It was no surprise that Raizel would begin to show interest in the said spells considering her lineage. Growing up in a magical household, the girl was exposed to magic at an early age and was quite fascinated by it as days went by. Her parents would see her watching the broom sweeping on its own, focusing on the scrub whenever it cleans the dishes. Her curiosity and desire to learn more magic was radiating during those times. Her father thought she would share her mother’s interest in Herbology as they do work together in the garden from time to time but no, her eyes were on charms, much like how he was when he was younger and was still studying in Hogwarts. He wasn’t that surprised about it and maybe, kind of expecting it. After all, she is part of the Voltrouz family. After Raizel saw Ravi perform the Lumos spell outside of their home, she quickly asked him how he did that. He showed her how it was done including the gesture and incantation and that had sparked her interest some more. The girl began to ask what other things that her father could do and he couldn't help but show it to her with glee.

Her father knew a couple of simple and harmless once, the levitation spell being one of them. Ravi would recite the incantation while showing the hand movements with his wand while she would watch him do so, even mimicking the movements with her hands. She would play with a stick all throughout the day the spell was shown to her, imagining herself doing those spells. She would memorize the incantations, take note of them in her small notebook with a small drawing of how the wand should move. Whenever she has free time, she would find herself rereading those notes and start her practice. Those silly antics that she had when she was younger was enough to give her a bit of knowledge with the spells that’s being taught in Hogwarts, making it easier for her to learn them and produce results due to her familiarity with the incantations and wand gestures.

During her time in Hogwarts, the girl would find herself taking a quick look at her charms book whenever she feels bored. She would study it closely, do some advanced reading and practice the gestures just like before, continuing to hone her skills.

Reading is his favorite activity. Zach have a huge interest in reading. Fictional or not, he always has a great time when reading a book. This reading habit was passed down from his mother. He has a study room with a mini library in his house. And it is obviously his favorite room of his house.

One day, a professor came to his house. She told Zach's mother and him that he is a wizard. No one believed it at first until the professor cast Reparo Charm to the vase that Zach broke that morning. It amazed Zach in many way. The professor told Zach that he also has this magic and he must control it. Hogwarts is the place where Zach can learn to control his magic.

A drama had happened in the house after the professor left. Zach's mom did not want to send him to Hogwarts. But Zach, that was already very interested in magic, insist on persuading his mother to let him go to Hogwarts. And it was a success attempt.

Later, Zach and his mom went to the Diagon Alley. They bought the school supplies that had been written by the professor. It was an amazing trip. They learnt that there is another side of world they are living. The wizarding world, the world that full of magic is existed. It made Zach fell deeper in love with magic.

After they got home, Zach prepared all the supplies he would take to Hogwarts. His mother also helped him in setting up his school supplies. While packing the supplies, Zach looked at the books he recently had bought with his mother. Two books caught his attention. Book of Spells by Miranda Goshawk and Magical Theory. "I want to read these books. I'll pack them last," he said to his mother.

How surprised Zach was at the two books he read. Many new things are very peculiar yet amazing for him. He kept reading until he seemed like he was going to be sucked into the books. Morning, afternoon, and evening, as long as he had times, he would immerse his thoughts in those two books. He paid attention to the books word by word, learning it concept by concept. Imagination, etymology, incantation, wand movement, he pervades and lives it all. "If only I could put that into practice," he muttered. He deplored the Ministry of Magic's policy of prohibiting underage magic.

Five days before the day of his departure to Hogwarts, he had finished both books. He had also made several lists of questions that he had prepared for later in the Charms class. He was sure, he would master first year Charms quickly. He couldn't wait for his first Charms class.

Johnathan was from a long line of purebloods, who believed more in keeping the family that way. His parents both had high-ranking jobs in the ministry (Elizabeth worked in the Department of Magical Creature Regulation, and Felix as an Auror) and intended to keep their family's pride up high. Johnathan's parents had set their expectations for their only son: to get sorted into Slytherin (most of their family had been in Slytherin (with the exceptions of a couple of Ravenclaws), get high grades, then marry a sophisticated pureblood girl after Hogwarts.

Due to their jobs, Johnathan's parents had to track down dark wizards, and dangerous magical beasts (usually in the Beast Division). But they managed to make quite a few enemies over the years... one of which in particular was a werewolf. John's parents disregarded the fact that their family was in potential danger.

A couple of months after Johnathan's 6th birthday, he was playing outside in the garden, his parents working inside peacefully. It wasn't very cold outside (it was about mid-november, (specifically 14th Nov full moon date 2016) and the sun started setting early), and it the Winters family all thought it was just going perfectly fine.

The moon, shining at its fullest, rose higher into the sky, the clouds clearing from its way. John was getting tired, it was after all, almost 9 o'clock, and was ready to go to bed. Felix and Elizabeth were still busy inside, however checking on their son often, asking him if he was okay every 10 minutes, but were completely oblivious as to what was going to happen next.

Johnathan noticed a dark, large figure in the distance of their property, coming this way, and fast. His heart raced: as a six year old, he had no clue what it was, and was terrified. As the newcomer got closer, John felt a wave of fright flood over him: a scream stuck in his throat when the creature was less than 70m off. To him, it looked like a massive, scary, overgrown wolf, but to his parents, it was a Werewolf they had once angered a couple years back.

"MOM!" The loud scream ripped out of Johnathan's throat as he scrambled towards the house, abandoning his toys in the dimly lit garden. "DAD!"

Felix and Elizabeth, hearing their son's desperate screams of terror, ran out of the house towards him, wands at the ready. "Johnathan, get in the house. NOW." his mother said, eyes wide at the werewolf, ushering their child inside as Felix started shooting curses at the Werewolf.

"Stay here. Whatever you do, stay HERE." said Johnathan's mother, hugging her son quickly before joining her husband outside, trying to fend the creature off. His father was already bloodied and bruised; sweat dripping down his face and adrenaline pumping. Firing another spell at the werewolf, the creature shot back about 100 yards, landing in a heap on its side. For a moment, the three of them thought it was over: that the werewolf was out cold, or even dead, but they were severely wrong. A loud growl started to rumble from the heap of fur, slowly picking itself up on his feet, before charging once more. Its golden eyes gleamed with vengeance as it shoved past Elizabeth and Felix, smashing open the glass window of the house, where Johnathan was. The poor boy let out a piercing loud scream as it was mere inches away, mumbling desperate "mom, help me!!!"s and "please dont hurt me"s. The next few moments were a total blur. A sharp, searing pain burned in his shoulder, and then a flash of red burst into the room, knocking the werewolf back against the kitchen island, shattering it to pieces, before John's vision went dark.

"Johnathan, speak to me. Speak to me, angel, please-" his mother cried desperately, clutching her son's body close to her, checking for a pulse. Felix rushed over, eyes filled with horror at the scene. "we need to get him to st mungos. now." he said firmly, picking up Johnathan's body, before rushing to the fire place, Elizabeth grabbing the pot of floo powder.

"St Mungos." they said loudly, dropping the powder down as the green flames soared up to shoulder level, enveloping them until there was not a soul left in their house that dreary evening, besides the remains of the werewolf.

Johnathan's eyes opened slowly at the bright light, pain searing through his limbs. His chest hurt, and so did his shoulder, but was comforted to see Elizabeth sitting beside him in a chair, holding onto her son's hand and stroking it gently with her thumb. His father was pacing back and forth, agitated, before he heard his wife's gasps of relief, turning round to see that his son was awake.

Having to explain what happened to their son was going to be difficult, since John was 6, and probably wasn't going to understand the information that he recieved fully that afternoon. Felix and Elizabeth eventually told him that he was hurt, and had now become a werewolf, much to their upset and disappointment. Their plans for him had kind of gone off rails, but they knew he still had the capablity of achieveing those goals, even with a new curse on his life.. Lycanthropy.

As soon as Alexander got home, he threw his school bag aside. He had that childish expression of tiredness on his usually smiling face. It was an expression of exhaustion, not from the depletion of energy, but from not being able to find more opportunities to consume energy. He had spent the whole day at his Muggle primary school three blocks away. Math, math, and again - how surprising!- math... Numbers were added together and multiplied - until the end of time. But unfortunately, when he successfully combined two and two, no light appeared, and no sound rose from the skies. All he had left was a colourless, thus far from exciting number, namely, four. That is precisely why Alexander used to sigh with boredom whenever he successfully performed a math operation, and his deep unsatisfaction was quite in stark contrast to the glowing eyes of the class teacher.

Seeing this state of her grandson, whom she loved so much and loved to pamper, her grandmother came to Alexander, shuffling her chubby legs. She seemed to understand his distress as if she were a seer. She stroked Alexander's cheeks with a grandmotherly tenderness. "Well, my sunny boy," granny said, "it's obvious someone is getting bored these days with what's being taught in school." The old woman gave him a small laugh and swayed slightly in her seat. "You want to learn something different, don't you? Something like the kind you did unintentionally last year..." Now Alexander's eyes were shining. Yes, that's exactly what he wanted! Well guessed, grandma! “Yes,” said the little boy, trying to hide a bit of his excitement. "It's still a long time before I get a letter from Hogwarts. In the meantime, I wish I could do something. You see, something magical.", his voice was desperately needy. "Hmm," the old woman said, scratching her head, "maybe I can help you? Would you like that?" Alexander shook his head with all his might. Wouldn't he ever want to? It was the only thing he wanted since his first involuntary spell, to tell the truth.

The old woman quickly realised that her grandson was getting too hopeful, therefore, she wanted to clarify the situation. "Look," she said in a gentle tone, "Don't get me wrong. I can't teach you spells. It's a big responsibility. Besides, I'm just a simple old witch who does not really need to catch charms anymore." What exactly did she propose then, Reading a spellbook together? - Alexander thought. Her grandmother would satisfy her curiosity with her next sentences: "So, young man, I can teach you one of these two things. Maybe we can study some herbology together? It was my favourite class at Hogwarts. How lovely the herbs are! Or the potion? Honestly, I could have been a great potion master if I had been a little bit more ambitious. It's like cooking after all. I'm sure we can handle it. Tell me which one you want."

Alexander contemplated for a while. Plants were fun, yes. But the pots in the backyard of their house were enough to satisfy his curiosity in this field. Right? At least, that's how superficial his idea of herbology was as a young wizard. On the other hand, potions were much more appealing to him. He explained his ideas and choice to his grandmother. "Very well," said the old woman, "then I'll show you how to make some simple potions. Let's say every weekend? Deal, my sunny boy?"

Approved I have updated your trunk to save you a post in trunk update. I made no changes to your format but it can be found under the abilities reducio. Just remember that casting spells outside of school in muggle environments would be easily identified due to the trace spell for children under 17. This all being generic and pre-emptive so you know the site's limitations.
