Ayuna always knew she was different from other girls her age, she never cared about others’ looks, ever. Sure, some people looked nicer than others, but why let that affect? Being beautiful doesn’t make them a better person, just looks more attractive. A perfect shell with nothing underneath isn’t really worth it.

She never understood why other kids care so much of others’ looks. She knew some teenage girls are interested in romance relationships and that the first thing they look is at your appearance. But still, no matter how beautiful a person looked, Ayuna just couldn’t get attracted. The girl never seemed to help or care for someone because they looked good. No, she made friends with them because of the kind heart underneath.

When she was still in Elementary, there was a boy who was so handsome, so perfect. Of course, all the girls swooned over him and tried to be his girlfriend, but Ayuna never did. On Valentines Day, he’d get all of the girls’ cards except for Ayuna’s. When he announced that he was going to find a date for a party, every girl except Ayuna tried to impress him. Putting on fashionable clothes and make up just to look beautiful. So tiring. However handsome the boy looked, the girl knew he was all beauty but no brains underneath. And that is why she had never even cast a look, or had the slightest urge to like him. No, never.

Because of her dislike for fake appearances, people often called her a nerd. “ How come you never care about looks? ” They asked, “ Looks makes a better life, not books.” And, “ Are you even a girl?” These harassments made the girl feel like an outsider in some point of her life. But soon, Ayuna learned to hold her head up high and ignore. She’s different, she’s unique, and she won’t change just because of others’ opinions.

This trait might be inherited from her grandmother, Anna Baudelaire. When she was alive, the old woman used to tell little Ayuna about old stories that was passed down from one generation to another. It was from those stories had Ayuna learned that people can be beautiful on the outside, but deep down, they can be ugly as evil as the most dangerous villains. Looks don’t matter, what really makes up a person is their content underneath the shell.

“Don’t judge a book by its cover.” That’s her motto. The shell isn’t the most important thing, the most important thing is what lies underneath.

Nancy loves spending time wandering outside in her village. The wide fields and rolling hills seem to gently call to her. She could spend hours wandering around, following paths, lying in the fields watching the clouds. While she loves spending time running around with her friends, there are times when she needs to sit with the calming hills, staring at the clouds as they peacefully drift by. Her cheerful disposition and supportive attitude have comforted and helped all of her family and friends at one time or another. Nancy became known as the one to go to when you were upset or scared. When her friends were upset or scared, Nancy was one of the first that talked to. Her cheerfulness and steady disposition were soothing and calming.

There was a time when her siblings were stressed about their exams at school. She tried to calm them down by talking about her walk the day before. She talked about the birds that had soared gracefully over her as she walked over the fields. The small animals that scurried in the tall grass and the wispy, soft clouds that drifted overhead in the clear blue sky. She continued describing the calm hills and fields as they walked. She slowly transitioned to her day in the village and the errands she and ma had run that day. By the time she was done, her siblings had calmed down and were feeling more confident about the test.

There was another time she and a friend had been caught out in a storm in the hills. They ran towards a copse of trees and ducked down under the low-hanging branches. Lightening was streaking across the sky, jagged flashes of light across the thick dark clouds. As her and her friend sat under the branches, her friend shaking with fear, Nancy started talking to them trying to help them calm down. She asked them about their pets and the latest trick they were teaching them. She spoke gently about their plans for later that week to go out shopping and to the cinema. Soon her friend and she were sitting peacefully under the swaying branches as the rain pounded down around them, the lightning flashed, and the thunder sounded loudly over the hills. She found that when she was feeling calm it was easier to help others to feel calm. She doesn’t use the ability whenever she feels like it. Instead, she only uses it when the person she is talking to indicates that they need help calming down.

Edward had been an avid learner as a kid. He was interested in many things and was always looking for information and books on topics he was interested in. As such, he had developed a particular notion of noticing the book he was looking for or the piece of information he was searching in a book. He thought it was just a skill of logic, once he knew how the information was typically distributed in a book or how the books were sorted in the library. He also always found that one book that just didn't belong there.
When he just strolled through the library, he would always see a book that was sorted incorrectly.
His mother had always liked to take him to work (at the public library) to find all the books that were misplaced. It surely could have been done by everyone to just systematically go through the shelves and look at every book, but Edward had always spotted the books faster than anyone.
At home, he had often found items his parents had misplaced. One time, his father had lost his wedding ring. Ed's father had looked everywhere and found nothing. When he told Edward, it took him only an hour to find it. He had noticed a golden reflection when the sun was shining into the living room and headed right towards it. It had been stuck between the pillows of the couch.
However, he also noticed the microexpressions in peoples faces. Eventually, he noticed when his classmates were about to make another dumb comment about him. He also noticed very well, how his parents were feeling, even if they tried to hide it.
This good eye, he had thought, it was because he himself was rather orderly. And if something was not where it should be, he noticed. It might have as well its origin in some logic as for the books. He learned how it should have been and notices when it was different.
Now with becoming a part of the Quidditch team, he thought about these moments of noticing and wants to further develop a keen eye to notice the snitch before everyone else. As a spectator of the first Quidditch match he saw, he wondered why it was taking so long for the seekers. But as a spectator from the outside, it might even be different. Nonetheless, he wanted to get better at seeing the little things, especially now that he indeed had made it to the Quidditch team.

Being a Parselmouth is known for coming from the dark arts. Salazar Slytherin himself was one, and he created a massive chamber in Hogwarts with a massive basilisk inside. Lord Voldemort, the darkest wizard of his time, was also known to inherit this trait. And we all know that pureblood families are all distantly related.. and the Lamacraft family itself was such.

Elira's extended family, was, to put it simply, big. Most wizarding families knew that the Lamacraft's were descended from a long line of powerful Western-European purebloods dating as far back as the time of Salazar Slytherin himself - however, what they did not know was that their family line also carried the rare ability of being able to speak Parseltongue. A common assumption at that time has been made that the Lamacrafts were related to Slytherin, when their first ancestor dated back to a little-known man by the name of Soren Sebastian Alden, who learnt the art of Parseltongue around the same time as Slytherin, but kept quiet.

The pure-blood side of her family has had generations of this rare talent, until it started to thin out bit by bit when their bloodline mixed with other pureblood families' across Europe. Her mother's side of the family were known to have links to dark wizards in the past, so that sole reason could have been the answer to how she got her ability.

Ophelia, Elira's mother, knew her family carried this trait, and prayed that her precious newborn daughter wouldn't inherit it, even though the last person in her family to have spoken parseltongue was Elira's great great great great great grandfather, Cecil. Her husband and Elira's father, Lorenzo, did know that Elira could have the possibility of inheriting the ability to speak parseltongue, but wasn't too disturbed, and assured Ophelia that the chances of their child getting that said trait was extremely slim.

Unfortunately for them, when they were in Diagon Alley to purchase a broomstick for their 6 year old daughter, they passed the Magical Menagerie, with some gorgeous pythons on display. Elira stopped next to them, asked her parents to give her a minute, and her eyes lit up in awe as the snaked let out a long hiss, warping to form the sounds of words. Her parents only noticed that Elira was hissing to the snake after they stopped discussing what broomstick to get their daughter. Her mother nearly fainted at the sight and her father looked around panicked, before hurrying both of them along to avoid the confused glances of passing strangers.

Once the three of them got home, Elira's mother sat her down to talk about her new-found ability, struggling to get the words out of her mouth in shock that after countless generations, her child managed to get this somewhat hated ability. Over the next couple years, Elira refrained from using her rare talents, stayed home by herself, until she got the letter from Hogwarts on her 11th birthday. She heard stories of when Harry Potter killed the basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets in his second year, and was dying to know what it was like down there, deep beneath the castle.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Seer
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

Amaris’ parents were both muggles, though if you delved hundreds of years into the past, countless generations ago you would find traces of magic. A woman on her mother’s side, born over 400 years ago was rumoured to have the ability to see into the future. This person, Catherine Ackwork had constant seer-like symptoms that came in the form of rare glimpses into what would happen in a few seconds or moments. They chose not to speak out, the century they were born in being one where if the population believed her to be a witch, she would be burned at the stake. On Amaris’ father’s side, there was a wizard who was born in the 15th century. Born in England, he enlisted in the army to fight in the English Civil Wars where he used his gift of foresight to aid his platoon and ensure his own survival. The recessive seer gene was carried on throughout Amaris’ bloodline, the number of people who actually became a seer being able to be counted on one hand.

None of Amaris’ parents nor she was aware of the possibility of Amaris being a seer or even of there being a dormant seer gene in their family. Her father and mother both being unaware of the existence of wizards.

Amaris often had glimpses of the future, most seeming insignificant at first. These spanned from tattered posters advertising a school to mountain scenery to viewing piano concerts. Those random snippets that came to her didn’t happen often and seemed insignificant but were always linked to something later on. Once she went on a holiday and ended up hiking on the mountain depicted to her, and another where she found the poster stuck to a brick pillar outside the school she eventually went to. Amaris brushed these occurrences off, pinning it on deja vu or a dream instead of something mystical. She also found that she had better instincts, and better reflexes than most kids her age, owing to how she was a seer. She would find herself walking on a different route back home than she was used to without knowing why she decided to do it. Other times, Amaris would feel the urge to visit a specific shop, finding that a book she had been planning to buy was on sale. All of this ended up helping her in some way or another.

Several more notable situations occurred, one being when Amaris was on the oval at her school. Seeing a glint of yellow in the bushes, she inquisitively start heading towards it. At that moment, she received a vision of her a few seconds into the future, a snake darting out and latching onto her hand. This caused her to freeze, watching as she spotted the scaly skin of the reptile as it slithered away, matching the exact image of the snake in her vision. Amaris attributed all those strange occurrences to her mind making stuff up, being influenced by the numerous fantasy novels she read.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Keeper's Catch
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it)
Reducio
When Edme made it onto the Ravenclaw Quidditch team as a second-string keeper, she was dedicated to becoming an asset to the team and doing her job to the best of her ability. They would go out and practice whenever the chance was given, even when they weren't allowed to. It was almost addicting to go out and work on the skills that they would need to succeed.

During the summer, their foster family caught on pretty quickly to Edme's newfound dedication to the sport. They assisted Edme in working on catching and throwing and all the other skills needed to be a good keeper, and as time went on, the Ravenclaw found that she had grown quite well at the job.

So soon it became almost ritualistic. When her eldest foster sister came to the neighborhood, they would play catch in the small backyard and Edme would try to defend a makeshift goal as Ella would bounce around trying to score. When one of the littler kids was playing around, the Ravenclaw would try to get them to join her and help her work on her reflexes when it came to getting and passing the ball, as well as using it in some slightly more violent ways to the dismay of the littles. By the endo f the summer, Edme had improved immensely, and was sure they could do anything.

Practicing was no different at Hogwarts as they found any way to make time for running out to the practice pitch and fly around with some of their close friends. Now able to get more practice on a proper pitch with a proper broom, Edme was getting the hang of being more like a keeper. She often forgot she was only second-string until the games flew by and they were dragged back down to Earth. It was only when the revelation that they would now be playing first-string was thrust upon them that they finally realized that they had a responsibility, and that was going to be filled.

From that point forward, the second year took a much more serious approach at it, and learned the tactical side to the position, as in what to do when you receive the ball, and what the most efficient ways of passing it on after catching it can be. They practiced as hard as they could, and sooner or later the Ravenclaw had gotten quite a knack for the ways of being a fast and strategic keeper.

1. Comprehend Languages-Gobbledegook (WC- 414/400)
Reducio
Having parents that loved to care for people was both a blessing and a curse. During their time in Rio de Janeiro, the newly employed Amelia Jackson and the recently graduated Alonzo Sáez shared residence in a small place run by an older married couple of goblins, Oscar and Sofia. It would later be the place where they were married, and several months later it would be the place where Mateo would be born.
Knowing that the favelas of Brazil likely weren’t the safest for a child, Mateo was left to be taken care of by the goblins whilst his parents went to work. Alongside simply being cared for as an infant, he began to understand that his goblin carers didn’t speak the same as his parents did. The words seemed more muddled and, well, less human. He would babble things, mixing both languages freely in his mind. His first words were a normal 'Mama' and then 'Papa', but following that he ended up babbling something that only his carers could understand. As unusual as his parents found it, they were incredibly proud that their child was already growing to embrace other cultures and languages. However, the family would move back to Bolivia not long after, and Mateo's memory of his gobbledegook would quickly fade from his mind.
Years later, upon Mateo's graduation from Castelobruxo, he would receive a card from Oscar and Sofia, congratulating him on his graduation. Not remembering much from that time, he enquired further with his parents about them, so when he finally set off on his travels around the world, his first destination was Rio de Janeiro and the very same place where his parents had met for the first time. He stayed there for five months, relearning what he had been able to pick up so easily as a child, and discovering it may have not been as easy to pick up now. After spending long hours helping to teach the young children in the favelas, he would return and spend another several hours sat at the goblin couple's kitchen table. He'd pour over books in gobbledegook with Oscar, make attempts to converse with Sofia, or try to cook for both of them by following a recipe in gobbledegook (that hadn't gone too well, but the couple had attempted to be nice about the food). The goblins were, well, as patient as goblins could be, and helped push him until he had finally mastered the language of gobbledegook.

2. Comprehend Languages-Giant (WC- 431/400)
Reducio
Two years into his travels around the world, Mateo found himself in a range of large mountains, tucked away at the tip of Scandinavia. He had yet to visit this region of Europe before, but knew of the creatures that lurked there and knew he had to be careful.
He had been moving from small village to small village, helping young witches and wizards that couldn't read and write learn before they headed to whichever wizarding school had accepted them. However, he grew tired and weary, and as much as he loved to help those who needed it, it was growing clearer to him that he was in need of a more permanent residence whilst he worked in the area.
So, after departing his most recent village in his tired state, Mateo accidentally stumbled across a small gathering of Jötunn, giants that would be the origins of those found in Norse mythology. As Mateo attempted to ask for help and shelter, many of the giants did not have the patience to hear or habilitate Mateo, resulting in him leaving not long after, for his own safety was paramount. Stumbling into the cold open, with harsh winds swirling around, Mateo quickly took refuge in the depth of a cave and easily fell asleep. This turned out to be the home of a kinder giant outcast, shorter in size but wiser and gentler than the rest in the tribe, who let him into his home and graciously offered Mateo a place to stay during his trip, with the condition that he never told a soul about who he was staying with. Agreeing, Mateo had finally found himself a much-needed shelter.
Now with a place to stay, Mateo would soon cross another problem-him and this giant, dubbed the name Vafthruthnir after a wise Norse Jötunn, were unable to converse as he could not speak Giant, and Vafthruthnir could not speak English. It was
Vafthruthnir, oddly enough, who offered the idea for them to teach each other their respective language, to which Mateo agreed. So, after mealtimes and in the faint light of a candle, they would sit together, spending an hour on English then an hour on Giant. Doing this regularly, Vafthruthnir was able to pick up English easily enough (given that Mateo taught on an almost daily basis), and over time Mateo was able to build up his knowledge of Giant. In the end, Vafthruthnir became like another grandparent to Mateo, and when Mateo finally made the decision to return to Bolivia, they would uphold the promise to write in their newly-learnt languages.

3. Non-verbal Magic (WC- 615/400)
Reducio
During Mateo's broom racing days, speed and subtlety had been one of his best friends. He'd always been one of the top fliers in the school, and he intended to keep it that way. So, when anybody dared creep up close to him or even overtake him in a race, he wouldn't hesitate to cast a spell at them to knock them off or slow them down. One of his biggest rivals, Rodriguez, whilst also one of his closer friends, would prove to become a problem over time. That problem became predictability. Rodriguez could hear when Mateo would cast his spells, and that allowed him to skilfully dodge out of the way and pull ahead. This irritated Mateo to no end when he watched his friend begin to claim his awards and titles in the school. He couldn't allow that! So there seemed to be only one clear option for him at this moment- to learn to cast spells without the need to speak the words.
And it was not easy. Mateo had always been better at the subjects that allowed him to talk, like debating and languages. Magic, although his parents had always claimed it was in his blood, was a skill he'd needed to put in the work for. Subjects like Charms and Transfiguration were not his forte, he'd had to actually study for them. So to be able to cast these sort of spells without having to say an incantation was nothing short of a challenge.
He'd have to work in the shadows of night, avoiding the watchful gaze of Rodriguez, needing the element of surprise to be maintained constantly. It would defeat the purpose otherwise. He read book after book, with attempt after attempt, but it proved to be more difficult than he would've originally imagined. In the meanwhile, Rodriguez was pulling further and further ahead in his completion times. It took all Mateo had to not scream and shout, having to constantly remind himself that when he could master non-verbal magic, he would be able to regain his place as the top flier in Castelobruxo.
Eventually, he would ask the Charms Professor for help. He just wasn't getting it, and he had no idea what he was doing wrong. With the Professor's assistance, he slowly began to understand the errors he had been making. He needed his full focus, all his concentration on the spell. He couldn't lose focus.
However, as the biggest race of his flying career loomed ever closer, he still had yet to cast a non-verbal spell. As he mounted his broom for what was the biggest race thus far, he could feel his heart beating faster than it ever had before a race. His start was strong, as it always was, but he knew by halfway Rodriguez would've planned to overtake him. The pair had a substantial lead on all others in the race- it was just between them.
Placing all his trust in his broom, Mateo shut his eyes and extended his casting arm. The incantation repeated in his head over and over, growing clearer and louder each time as the finish line grew closer. Everything seemed so slow, to then suddenly speed up in rapid succession. A bright light flashed from the tip of his wand, and when Mateo opened his eyes he only saw Rodriguez fall from his broom as he raced on past, crossing the finish line in first place.
That was the first time Mateo would successfully cast a non-verbal spell. Even after his broom-racing career passed, he would still find a regular use for the skill when teaching and travelling. So, in the end, he had Rodriguez to thank.

4. Wandless Magic (WC- 478/400)
Reducio
Castelobruxo had never placed a large emphasis on magic requiring a wand, and Mateo had appreciated that. He'd never been the most talented with it, preferring to use it in makeshift swordfights with his friends in class rather than cast spells. What fascinated him more was always the magic that could be done without a wand, and how that was done. That allowed for Ritual Magic to become one of his favourite subjects, and him to want to learn how to cast without his wand from early on during his time at Castelobuxo.
It would take time for his magical ability to be able to develop to be able to cast like that, however. He was under the illusion that non-verbal magic was difficult and time-consuming, so when he finally could begin to start practising wandless magic, he had not been prepared for the level of difficulty that would be.
He had finally begun to crack the secrets of wandless magic when he had the accident, and his motivation plummeted. He wanted nothing to do with school at that point, let alone advanced level magic. It was only when he finally began to nurture his passion for reading and love for books in his seventh year that he rediscovered the motivation he had lost for those few years. Regretful that he had lost those years of training and practice, he dedicated much of his time in his final year towards relearning the talent of wandless casting. By the time Mateo came to graduate from Castelobruxo, he still hadn't managed to succeed in casting without a wand (though he did leave school with several other important skills). He continued to practice everyday after, even when travelling, hoping that one day he'd succeed.
When he would eventually come to succeed would be when he was least expecting, however. It would be almost a full year after his graduation from school, and fully in the depths of his travels across the world. Located in the midst of a rainforest in Indonesia, Mateo would find himself in a small wooden hut that the community used as the local school. It was the time for lunch, yet Mateo found himself without food and instead surrounded by twenty or so kids, wanting to hear stories of his time at Castelobruxo or have him look at a piece of work they'd completed. He could feel his stomach rumbling, yet he tried to focus on what the multiple kids were clamouring to get his attention on. All he remembered was attempting to summon his lunch in his mind as he held a stack of parchments in his hands, and the next minute it had flown over the kids' heads and onto his table. The kids had been in awe of the magic, and Mateo couldn't have been more proud of what he'd achieved after so long.

Matthew was always a fan of Quidditch, often playing with his siblings during the summer (even if he wasn't allowed to get much higher than his bedroom window) so when he was accepted to the team as a first year, he was absolutely ecstatic. He was second string keeper, and was desperate to prove himself and show he was a perfect fit. He was the third of his siblings to attend Hogwarts, but the first to make it onto the Quidditch team and though this gave him quite a lot of bragging rights, it also meant that they would never let him forget it if he failed.

Although he often was made to play keeper back home (because it was less likely he would come flying off his broom as he wouldn't be shooting up and down a pretend pitch) he would be lying if he said he didn't enjoy the role. It's not even as if he had the traditional build for a keeper, as an 11 year old he was simply not going to have the same reach as an older student and knew he would have to work extremely hard to make his saves. Despite all this, he had become quite a good keeper, his small size allowing for more agility on a broomstick, even if the quaffles they used back home were likely not regulation standard.

Since joining the team, he practiced as often as he could. When he was allowed on the pitch he'd run drills, throwing a ball several meters in random directions and racing to collect it or having others practice shooting at the hoops. When the pitch was closed he'd practice on the ground, tossing whatever object he was currently holding into the air and catching it again or having another play catch with him to keep him sharp. The last thing he'd want to do is fumble the ball when it's in his hands, if he were outplayed then fair enough but if his own hands let him down he'd never be able to forgive himself. Where before he'd try and make an effort to complete homework somewhat promptly, now he would focus on examples of keeper saves and analyse them for ways to improve them - or replicate them.

In some ways, even the rather unreliable nature of the school broom had helped him. The little jerks and wobbles of the broom meant he had to be alert at all times. He could never relax on his broom, and so could never slack. He had to give 100 percent every time he played or risk making a fool of himself, which was the very last thing he wanted.

Oliver has always been of the adventurous type of person, amongst all of his friends and schoolmates back home in the muggle world. He is the type of person always looking for that little thrill of adrenaline or just to prove myths wrong when it comes to local legends around the neighborhood he lived in or his friends lived in. He is usually known to have a very sharp eye, or even a Keen Eye when it came to trying to find things that the others would miss or overlook even. Oliver’s eyesight is very sharp and some might say he could see things others wouldn’t be able to see unless you knew exactly what you were looking for.

One of the earliest times Oliver could tell he himself had a Keen Eye was the summer before he started at Hogwarts. Oliver and his friends had all heard the stories of the old Abandoned Building on Crenshaw Lane. Lights go on at night, but no one lives there, or owns the property. Other kids have gone inside, and have never come out. Some of the local kids got scared of this and avoided the house at all costs, but not Oliver, he wanted, no he needed to prove these legends to rest and prove there was nothing scary in that home. Oliver and his friends heard the stories from the older kids, who often teased them and tried to provoke them when it came to this story. The Older kids told them that ghosts were the cause of the lights. Oliver told them they were lying, and he was then dared by the older kids to stay in the house overnight, and he agreed to do so.

Oliver may have been a daredevil, but he wasn't crazy, as he knew better than to stay in that building alone, and was able to talk a handful of his friends into doing it with him as well. He agreed that they would all leave if things go too much, so they planned on telling their parents they were staying at another person’s house so they were all accounted for. The group of friends entered the building and everything seemed to be going just fine, nothing out of the ordinary happening, and Oliver started to think this was going to be smooth sailing. Then all of a sudden, things start going strange and acting weird.

Light started flickering on and off, noises could be heard, as if they were ghosts moaning in the darkness, but Oliver wasn’t believing it, although some of his friends were. All of a sudden, a white cloaked figure started to float in the air before them. Oliver’s friends saw this and ran away from it and out of the house, while Oliver just stood there in front of the figure, staring at it, not letting it intimidate him. As Oliver is staring at it, he could see something shining or glistening a bit, but only at certain angles he looked. He moved to the side and climbed on top of a table, and reached out above the figure, and grabbed a hold of a string, he tugged at it, and saw it was connected to the cloak making it seem like a ghost was moving.

Most people wouldn’t have seen the string, but Oliver did, as his eyesight was very Keen and sharp. Oliver looked around a bit, and saw a light behind a bookcase, and Oliver walked up to it and used his strength to move it out of his way, soon the out of breath Oliver was standing in the hidden doorway, and saw it was a secret room, where some of the older kids were hiding in order to play this joke on the younger kids. Oliver’s eyes were able to catch the light coming from behind it though, another thing most would've missed otherwise.

It was that incident where Oliver realized he had a very sharp and Keen eyesight then most kids his age had, and he was going to use it to the best of his abilities.

DO NOT POST HERE: Application for Magical Races/Talents and Special Abilities
Link to Encyclopedia Thread| Liam Bennet
Name of Ability or Race| Seer
Describe why it Fits my Character|
To possess the faculty of perceiving beyond the veil of chronological time is an ability not granted to all, but rather one that has long been coveted by the magical community. The Bennet family, purebloods of ancient lineage, have for generations arranged matrimonies with the aim of fostering the manifestation of this faculty within their progeny. While such unions are frequently motivated by considerations of prestige or perceived purity among noble families, the Bennets have historically pursued them with the specific intention of propagating the gift of true sight. Though Liam's parents are not particularly enamored with the tradition, they have upheld it in deference to the desires of their forebears.

Liam, however, has always resisted the idea of being paired with someone solely for the purpose of increasing the chances that a seer would be born into the family. He has instead chosen to focus on his hobbies, academic pursuits and become the most proficient wizard he can be. This determination, though it has caused some familial tension at the dining table, has not wavered in the face of pressure to conform. The boy is still young and yet to find his freedom in life - the prospect of having a pairing made for him at such a young age is almost terrifying.

Liam had always been an active adventurer, and often found himself lost in the vast woods that surrounded his home in Winchester. But it wasn't until he turned 9 that his adventures took on a new significance. He began noticing that, occasionally, he would have a sudden urge to stop what he was doing or duck to the side at just the right time. Each one of these occurrences took place right before a stray branch swung from nowhere or a similar event took place that would have caught anyone else off guard. These were often brief and fleeting, just momentary flashes of instinct that seemed to be out of place in the context of his normal thoughts. At first, Liam was unsure what to make of these feelings. He wasn't even convinced if they were real or if he was just imagining things in the moments after something happened. But as they continued to occur with increasing frequency, he began to realize that they might be more than just his mind playing tricks on him.

At the request of his parents, Liam began to keep a journal, writing down as much detail as he could remember from these moments in an effort to decipher their meaning. Every two weeks Liam would be taken to his great-grandmother’s house, the matriarch of all things related to divining within the family. On these visits, the boy would be instructed to sit down and read through his writings to find any threads of potential foresight that he had stumbled upon while going about his daily life. As he studied his journal, patterns began to emerge. A gradually increasing number of these gut feelings seemed to be related to events that were going to happen in the near future, not only to Liam but also others, and sometimes his instincts would account for scenarios which contained details that he couldn't possibly have known about in the moment. It was a strange and unsettling feeling, knowing that on occasion he would have an abstract understanding about what was just about to take place, but it was also exhilarating.

As the next few years passed, Liam's time spent learning with his great-grandma gave him a lot more freedom; he could climb trees with confidence, knowing that he wouldn't accidentally grasp any weak branches. In truth, most of the time he was just lucky, but on occasion, his intuitions saved him from some potentially dangerous falls. With a greater level of comfort in his perception, Liam decided that maybe his gifts could help guide his life, even if it was just to give him an advantage on the Quidditch pitch. He still has much to learn, but he believes that there is no better place to hone his skills than at the school he now attends.

Good choice, fellow seer :P
But please keep in mind that seers as young as Liam would not have access to full visions.
"It is rare to come upon a Seer in their youth, this is because Seers are often unaware of their gift during childhood but it does manifest in these early years. It shows up initially as a spark of intuition, they sometimes stop just before disaster would strike or as some would say "they find themselves in the right place at the right time." - This is what the ability description says. Please edit the parts where you claim that he has visions, then you should be fine!
