Amaris Levine, First Year, Gryffindor

Amaris was born a single child to her parents, Elizabeth and Lukas Levine In Syleham, England. They had time-consuming jobs, respectively being a manager at the back and a CEO of a marketing business. Her parents’ success in their careers allowed her to live a comfortable life, never having a shortage of anything and attending various extracurricular activities. However, due to the nature of their jobs they didn’t interact with Amaris much when she was older, her parents transporting her to school on their way to work before coming back late at night. A babysitter was often hired upon her return to her house. Despite the lack of time spent with her, she had an easy-going childhood filled with affection. Throughout her education, Amaris coasted on a C-B average, possessing the capacity to do more but ultimately feeling bored and unmotivated. At the ripe age of seven, she had already decided schools weren't for her, much less the strict private school she was sent to. This lack of determination was found in other areas instead, such as playing the violin as a hobby and indulging in reading. She also often surfed the web, exploring miscellaneous sites. She also used the internet to connect with friends. In school, Amaris didn’t have many friends, owing to her preferring quiet activities during breaks and being shyer around other people.

Her first instance of wandless, accidental magic occurred when she was around the age of seven. Whilst running around the house in a game of tag, her foot caught on a table causing a family heirloom, one that had been passed down several generations to fall to the ground and smash. Knowing how much it meant to her mother in particular, Amaris began to panic fearing the possible consequences. She started to push the larger portions of the base together, hoping to somehow salvage it. To her surprise, the vase started to repair itself, which arguably frightened her more than the vase breaking. With no one in the room with her, she stayed silent about the situation as she childishly feared the possible consequences she would face if her parents found out that she broke it. Amaris regularly thought about that odd occurrence in her later years but brushed it off as her imagination or somebody playing a joke on her. After that instance, there were many smaller occurrences that Amaris brushed off as something normal, or at least not overly strange.

This all came into perspective once a professor arrived at her door with a Hogwarts letter. Both her parents were understandably shocked with Amaris herself being inquisitive, though rather sceptical.

Appearance:
Amaris Levine is 4 foot 7 inches with grey eyes. She has relatively pale skin which stays consistent throughout the year despite sun exposure, she tending to stay inside her home. Black long hair flows down her back, which is usually seen in the form of a braid. Her preferred outfits of choice all prioritise comfort rather than beauty, only wearing more glamorous outfits when a special occasion calls for it.
